If you could could choose a defining moment of your life, what would you choose? To define your time on this Earth in a single memory, is it even possible?
This is the moment I choose.
When I was young I saw a blue striped butterfly caught in a spider's web. I new that if I left it it would die, I was the only one who could help. I reached out with unsteady hands to pull the butterfly free but.....after I had touched it, I could feel its "blood" on my pale fingertips. I killed it. Everytime I try to help, I only hasten the death I try to prevent.
Interesting isn't it? To see that stuggling against death is futile. Life must be excinguished so new life can be maintained. Death therefore is inevitable and nessesary.
But to die in pain and alone is a tragedy. A slow, agonizing death in a hospital bed is my greatest fear.
I don't want to be alone anymore. Maybe, dear reader, you can find me a midnight dream to call my own?
A man with eyes as dark and beautiful as the predawn sky.
