Pretty obvious that I haven't typed an entry in this journal in a while. xp
A few days ago, my younger sister and I, along with her boyfriend, were discussing what the hell was going on with Freedom of Speech, another fanfiction archive. That was when I brought up a suggestion of starting a private archive, with a sensible group of people at a private forum that do write in their free time. My website is run on Linux and the server has 48 gigabytes of remaining space, therefore qualifying for running an archive of any sort.
Okay, enough talking about the archive. Now I installed the test server on Vista, of all operating systems. I was running the latest version of eFiction (3.3.1) and the Challenges module version 1.2, and I was wondering why the Challenges module would bug out on me on my test server. From simply reinstalling it to attempting to get PHP5 to work ( stressed <- why I stuck with PHP4), nothing worked. I then realized that the problem lied in the Challenges module itself. I then dug into the earlier eFiction downloads, which I was very glad I kept them, and extracted the Challenges module version 1.1 from eFiction 3.3. The installation of version 1.1 worked.
The eFiction version 3.3.1 is very slightly buggy; version 3.3 seems to work better. However, 3.3.1 is just fine. Now I have a skin modification to do. smile
