“She doesn’t have a wand-?”
“Right.”
“But she is a mage?”
“Right.”
“But that’s not right. Can’t she pretend, at least for a little while?”
“Don’t give her a wand.”
“Why not?”
“They focus magic power.”
“So?”
“Imagine focusing a laser beam.”
“The demons got loose, the bomb’s about to go off, the world’s going to end in ... give or take five minutes. s**t, I’m so getting fired for this.”

She pulled out the knife in stomach.
“What? You think this hurts? I’ve had menstrual cramps worse than this, fool.”
“There’s some good left in this world and it’s worth fighting for.”
“Evil thy name is morning.”
“If he breaks your heart I won’t be there for you to lean on because I’ll be in prison because I killed the a*****e who hurt you.”
“Shouldn’t we make a plan?”
“A Plan? What’s the point? You’ll just abandon it one minute in.”
“How are you so sure?”
“Because there is an army of half dead warriors outside of this bunker and I don’t think they’ll cooperate with your plan.”
“Don’t touch me, I’m covered in blood and none of it’s mine.”
“Hey! How many times have I asked you not to blow trees up while I’m standing underneath them?”
“How many times have I asked you not to stand underneath trees while I’m blowing them up?”
“Hang on, I don’t think I’m drunk enough to understand that yet.”

“Why settle with words with what you can accomplish with a flamethrower?”
“I used to think that I was perfectly normal. Until I found out that normal eight-year-olds can’t make fireballs with their bare hands.”

“Ever remember playing hide-and-go-seek in the dark? Sometimes I do. Remember those nights in your house with your other little friends, all around the age of six, when you’d dare each other to go down into the basement. Alone. With no lights. For twenty minutes? Bah! Twenty minutes? Who the heck are they kidding? You could do that, no problem. So you’d walk down there, into that basement…alone. In the dark. And you’d sit on the bottom step and shiver. You could feel it. That slow, steady beat of darkness. Like it was alive or something. Little kids feel it the most. Darkness is scary s**t when you’re young. Don’t know why, but it was just this ‘sense’. The hairs on the back of your neck would stand up; your eyes would dilate to the point where there is no iris. The darkness. It held bad things. But then, hey, what do you know? Time’s up, time to go back upstairs. To the light. To the friends. To the sights and sounds. And most of all, you’d go upstairs - away from the darkness. And as you got older, the fear of the pitch in the basement slowly ebbed away. The fear, it grew quiet. In your heart, your soul, you still felt terror sometimes, but it was very slight. Oh, so very slight. In fact, once you hit the teens, you probably savored darkness. It held so much mystery, so much… adventure. So much allure. What’s in the darkness? You’d like to find out. You’d love to. See, that’s not me. When you were little and you came back up those stairs into the light, I was still in the basement. In the darkness. Alone. And if I get this right, I’ve been there for about ten years now. Ten long painful years where I’ve learned of the things that it holds.”
“There’s always a way, and it usually doesn’t work.”

“No, actually I’m sitting.”
“I am not evil, just morally challenged.”

“Of course it is! I’m not going to keep looking for it after I found it!”
“So, Kit what are you here for today?”
“Well, I’m working with highly explosives compounds to achieve a neutral vector or find weak locality in a obstruction in the current pathway.”
“Uh.”
“I like things that go boom.”
“The strong man who does nothing is not strong, it is the weak person who tries no matter what that is truly the strongest. Keep fighting.”

“You made her remember that she’s human. That underneath that armor she tries so hard to wear, underneath all the denial, a heart beats. And it beats for you.”
“What?”
“Sometimes, I really think that you have the intelligence of a rat, Leon. She. Is. In. Love. With. You.”
