Buffy: I think everyone has at least heard of Buffy, so there is really no need to write anything.
Angel: This show is a little less popular, so I will write something.
Character bios:
Angel: A 245+ year old Vampire with a somewhat macabre past. He was sired by Darla in Galway Ireland in 1753, after noticing the pretty Vampire in an alleyway. After his crossover into the Vampire world he became Angelus a most feared creature by both the undead and every human that had the misfortune of crossing his path. He killed almost everyone that he met and also killed their families too. He sent poor Drusilla insane before finally turning her into a Vampire herself. Darla however made a fatal mistake of bringing him a Gypsy Girl to feed upon, her clan took their revenge and returned his soul to him. Leaving him living in torment from what he had done as the evil Angelus, he wandered from place to place feeding on the odd rodent occasionally living a meaningless existence.
He eventually was found by Whistler, a Demon who showed him Buffy, know Angel he decides to help the young Slayer "Kill them all" and they become friends and eventually fall in love. This love is however fatal to them both as when they seal their love for each other he becomes Angelus once again. The Romany curse had a fatal clause which was if he ever experienced even one moment of true happiness he would lose his soul and become the monster that he once was. This tears Buffy apart, knowing that she must face him, the one she loves and kill him. Angelus sets out to awaken Acathla and suck the whole world into hell, Buffy knows that this is the time to finally end it, and she sends her love straight to hell impounding him with a sword. However he was not the monster Angelus when she did this, Willow cast the Romany curse once again and restored his soul just as Buffy was about to kill him. As Buffy realized this, she also realized that it was too late to save him from the dark depths of hell.
Angel spent a few hundred years (time goes much quicker in hell) in torture and is eventually for some reason brought back to Sunnydale. When Buffy discovers this he is like a wild animal, she is almost unbelieving that her Angel can ever be the man he once was, he does however remember and she helps him recover in the old mansion. They find themselves growing closer once again and this scares them both.
Eventually Angel decides that it is best that he leaves Sunnydale forever (we all hope not) and to go to Los Angeles. It is hard for them both but they know that it can never really be. And so Angel hits the streets of LA, he pairs up with Doyle a half human/Demon and Cordelia to fight the forces of evil once more through their Detective Agency.
Only time will tell if he will stay in the City of Angels or if his heart will take him back to were he has left it - In Sunnydale.....
Wesley: Wesley Wyndham Price first appears in Buffy as both Buffy and Faith's new Watcher, a very unwanted replacement for Giles. He is extremely inexperienced having never actually worked in the thick of things, only really experiencing Vampires under controlled circumstances. After Faith kills another human and fails to make it look like Buffy had in fact done this he alongside The other Council Of Watchers and their henchmen attempt to apprehend Faith from the mansion where Angel is trying to help her. This fails miserably and Faith escapes to turn to the Major, a rouge Slayer on the lose is never good on any Watchers resume.
Wesley is very enthusiastic when it comes to his Watcher duties sometime maybe all little too much, he tends to panic under pressure but also tries to put his mistakes right, a good start is when he saves Cordelia from the evil Willow. However his continued motivation to keep Giles and the others out of the action is wrong as they work best when they are together as a team. Suspicions lead people to think that maybe they hold him partly responsible for Faith turning to the Dark side but nothing was actually said to back this up. When Willow is captured by The Major and they demand the Box of Gavroc in exchange for her life the gang ultimately take no notice of Wesley and go ahead and give him the box for Willow, this carries on when Buffy continues to take no notice of him in her fight to save Angel rather than focusing her energies on the Majors up coming Accension. When Wesley confronts her with this she quits and refuses to do anything he and the Council ask. While Buffy stands firm on her decision to quit so does Wesley, he shows at the Accension to help them defeat the Major, although getting knocked out very early on he was there!
After this we see nothing of Wesley until he shows up in LA, dressed in Leathers and armed with a motorcycle tracking a Demon. Now a "rogue demon fighter", Angel and Cordelia find it quite amusing that the once prim and proper Watcher should turn to dressing and acting the way he does. Finding out that he in fact is no longer a Watcher for the Council, having been fired.
The look inevitably doesn't last all that long and the suit comes out once more, after trying to leave Angel and Cordelia on more than one occasion he is asked to stay and help them with Angel Investigations. Having nowhere to go really he is obviously very pleased with the invitation and accepts, staying with them to continue their fight against the evil that resides on the streets of LA.
Fred: Winfred Burklen Fred for short a brilliant young woman who was studying to be a physicist when she vanished from a Library in 1996. She was reading a book at the time that opens portals to the dimension Pylea and she was sucked into it. She became a slave "cow" for many years to a demon in Pylea shovelling demon poo as Cordelia put it. She eventually escaped from their clutches disabling the collar that applies short sharp shocks to any "cow" when they do not do as they are told.
Angel encounters her after she is recaptured by Constable Narwek and she is put to death, Angel does not realise that this is the ritual and offers to do this. When he realises this he saves her and hides in the outback of Pylea in a cave that Fred has been living in for some time. There are scribblings on the wall Angel realises these are the language to open the portals. Fred assures him that it doesn't work but Angel is not so sure.
She is very strange after living in Pylea for so many years one wonders whether it has sent her maybe a little mad, she however helps Angel and after Wesley works out that she can in fact open the portal back to LA she returns with them.
Fred is to be a regular next season on Angel as her story progresses I will update this page.
Charles Gunn: Gunn first appears in Warzone he sees Angel beating up a blackmailer and then tries to actually dust Angel without success, he at first does not trust Angel for what he is but eventually realises that he is no ordinary Vampire. The leader of the gang that keep their neighbourhood clean of both Demons and Vampires (and whatever else emerges from the depths) an unknown, and uncalled "Slayer". Together with his band of fellow deadbeats, they patrol the streets of the less well favoured areas of LA hunting down vampires and their nests, he is strong willed and will never let anyone order him around. After his sister is taken away by Vampires he ends up dusting her which leaves of course permanent scars. He eventually realises with a little help from Cordelia that he has many demons himself he must defeat so that he can come to terms with what has happened in the past.
He becomes a regular cast member from the start of season 2 even gracing his presence on the opening credits, he assists Angel in a number of cases one which started off as his own when they defeat the Demon Deevak
I am sure that Gunn will continue to be a great friend and fellow fighter of dark forces for Angel, Cordelia and Wesley.
Lorne: The Host first appears in the season two premier Judgement singing on stage at his Karaoke bar called Caritas. He is anAnagogic Demon with the power to read peoples aura and he gives advice on what they should do and the right path to take. The host was only known as this until the last few episodes of the last season where we learn out a lot more about him. He was originally from a Dimension named Pylea he arrived in Los Angeles 5 years ago after a portal opened up and he jumped on through it. He hates his home dimension and when Wesley, Angel and Gunn tell him he must come with them after Cordy gets sucked back there he is very reluctant.
We see why when we meet his family his mom is in fact male LOL and they all hate him with a fiery passion, after he gets his head cut off by Silas the high priest Cordelia screams as she feels responsible for the death of her dear friend little does she know until he opens his eyes that Anagogic Demons cannot be killed outright by decapitation their bodies have to be mutilated and then they finally die. After Groo saves his body from being mutilated the Host is taken back to his family home to be reunited with his body, Landock who is his cousin is the one who takes him and he encounters Angel and the others on the way back. Angel and the others are deeply shocked to see his head and even more shocked when he speaks, they learn that he will be fine and let Landock on his way to reunite The Host with his body.
We also learned the real name of The Host while they where in Pylea, Lorne of the Deathwok Clan, he warns the guys to not call him this back in LA it's strictly the Host or MC.
Lorne continues to be a great asset to the team, with his reading skills and contacts in the demon circle, Joss has also at last realised that he must be in the opening credits and so he shall be...
Lets hope that Lorne lasts the distance with the gang.
Cordy: She was born and raised in Sunnydale, priding herself on being beautiful but most of all popular with her fellow students. After discovering Buffy is in fact the Slayer she is assigned as one of the gang. She takes great horror in this, to even be associated with the 'losers' is a great burden on her. However she finds herself attracted to Xander and being faced with the secret gropes and kissing in dark closets and corners of the library she finally takes her stand and tells her friends that she will date and see whomever she pleases accepting herself as part of the gang. She continues to date Xander until the fateful night that Willow and he are kidnapped by Spike. Both Oz and she walk in on them in an embrace. She is deeply shocked and hurt and runs only to fall through the steps and impound herself on a large metal rod. She pulls through but reverts back to her old ways, shunning Buffy, Xander, Willow and even Oz.
After her Dad is taken by the IRS her College plans go out of the window and she decides to leave Sunnydale and got o LA to seek fame and fortune as an actress. She however did not realise just how hard this would be, she struggles to meet the rent and keep herself in clothes and food, until she finally runs into Angel. She joins him and Doyle and helps them set up their detective agency. Much to her dismay that they do not charge for their services.
And so she begins her fight alongside Angel and Doyle on the streets of LA, who would of thought that she would end up alongside them both in the City of Angels. Settling in well at Angel Investigations she still is adamant when people ask that she is an actress, however she continues to work for Angel due to no acting work being available at this time for her. Truth be told we all know that she loves working with Angel and after Doyle's untimely death which crushed them both, she found out shortly afterwards that Doyle had in fact passed over his gift of the visions to her. She is now Angel's link to the Powers That Be. Although even this gift has put her in danger on a number of occasions, but still she stands firm alongside Angel and now Wesley...
Conner: Connor was born to two vampires, Darla and Angel. Legend always said that this could never happen but it did! Because Darla was in fact a vampire her body could not deliver the baby and the only way to save her unborn child was to actually stake herself. Which she did, leaving Angel holding his son in the pouring rain with Holtz ready for revenge.
Connor started off life well in the hotel with Angel and the other guys but it was painfully obvious that it was not meant to be for father and son. Holtz, who hated Angel for taking away his family, kidnapped Connor and jumped through a portal into the Hell dimension called Quortoth. Angel searched for weeks to try and get his son back but to no avail..
The Destroyer. This is what Connor was known as in his dimension. He grew up knowing that Angel was his father but Holtz turned him against Angel revealing his sordid past. When Connor returned they ultimately came to blows. Connor pretended to be Angel's friend and the son he always wanted, while he still carried on seeing Holtz and plotting against Angel. Holtz in his final scenes made Justine kill him with an ice pick, making two puncture wounds to make Connor think that Angel had killed him.
Connor then recruited Justine to help him take his revenge on Angel. They captured him by the sea while he was waiting to tell Cordelia that he loved her. They enclosed him into a metal coffin and welded the side?s air tight shut and then preceded to push the coffin off the boat into the sea. Leaving Angel at the bottom of the sea, Connor returned to the Hotel.
4 months pass. Connor has helped Fred and Gunn fight and try to find Angel and Cordelia, Knowing all a long where Angel was. Wesley finally found out through Justine and brought Angel back up to the surface.
Once back at the hotel Angel sat Connor down and straight talked him. What he had done was unbelievable and to his own father! Connor was told that he was loved and then swiftly kicked out of the hotel onto the streets to fend for himself. But then that isn?t that hard to do when both your parents are vampires.
Connor has many hidden talents, he is a great fighter and warrior. He also has the trait of vampire hearing even though he is basically human. There is something obviously in store for Connor, time will only tell what.
Connor has been through a lot in the short time he has been with Angel and the ultimate price is paid when he puts his trust in Jasmine a demon who is out to take over the world, Connor knows what she is yet betrays his father and friends to give her the best chance to do what she will, however this back fires and Angel destroys her spell on everyone and they see her true self. They flee destroying everything and everyone in their path, Connor is left feeling empty and alone after he kills her in front of his father.
Angel makes the sacrifice to save Connor all the pain of being the son of a Vampire and with the help of Wolfram and Hart places him with the family he has always wanted, he will never remember his past life and will never remember Angel. This concludes Connors place with the team and he is left to be happy with his new family.
Doyle: Not much was really known about Doyle, what we did find out was that he was half human and half Demon who is sent to assist Angel and also guide him from the very beginning. He would however rather spend his evenings in a bar than risking his own life. But having his 'Gift' also gives him the sense of duty to help save people he sees in his visions. Given the gift of visions also leaves him in pain afterwards, he has vicious headaches, but they also give him a head start into what evil lies ahead. He helps Angel to try and take his mind of Buffy by being his crime fighting side-kick and most of all his friend.
We do know that he was previously married `the bachelor party` and escaped his brains being eaten in this episode. During the short time that Doyle worked with both Angel and Cordelia they became very close, Doyle especially to Cordelia, although his advances where always avoided or put to the back of her mind. Never really admitting to herself that maybe they could of had a future together.
Angel, Cordelia and Doyle encounter a tribe of pure Demons called the Scurge, they track and kill half breeds of all species. The Demons that Doyle, Cordelia and Angel are trying to save are found passage on a boat, while Doyle and Angel are caught by the Scurge, Angel acts as if he is evil and breaks Doyles neck in front of them asking to join them and help them kill the half breeds. They agree and he follows them to their lair where they are preparing the ultimate device to kill all things that have a single drop of human blood in them. They demonstrate this with a human who has also told them where to find the Demons that are ready to leave on the boat.
After all are trapped including Angel, Doyle and Cordelia on a boat with the device activated. Angel begins to say his goodbye's to his friends as he knows that he must sacrifice his live to save the ones he cares about, Doyle however hits him and he plunges to the floor a few feet below. Doyle turns to Cordelia and kisses her goodbye, and then just before Angel can get there to stop him he jumps over to the device.. Angel and Cordelia can only watch as their much love friend gives his life to save them all - disintegrating before their eyes but succeeding in turning the device off........
Kate: Kate Lockely is a detective for the L.A Police Department, she first encounters Angel at a night-club while undercover. She at first doesn't trust him when she finds him almost standing over the body of a victim of a Demon, she however has no idea about the other world of LA and is very quick to try and arrest him. Failing they eventually come into contact once again at the club where Angel saves her from the Demon. She has had a very hard up bringing with her father and takes nothing at face value always asking the awkward questions.
When a very well known Vampire named Penn arrives in LA she finally finds out what Angel really is, not accepting it at first she does her home work and finds out about all the evil things that Angel had done in the past. The trust that they had built up is diminished in a second and she immediately goes on the offensive, even when she is faced with killing both Penn and Angel she only kills Penn leaving Angel impaled with a rather large plank of wood.
After her Father is killed by Vampires she has the ultimate choice to make, will she be Angel's friend or his enemy? Only time will tell.....
Lindsey: Lindsey McDonald works for the infamous Wolfram and Hart law firm, they have less than traditional ways of dealing with troublesome people, employing the most dangerous Demons to fight for them and even protect their building. Lindsey is from a very poor family and is determined to make something of himself no matter what the cost! He and Angel first meet in the offices when Angel pushes Vampire Russell Winters out of the window. From then on in Lindsey realises that Angel is going to cause severe problems for the firm.
After Lindsey realises that Angel will not be fading into the back ground and letting the firm get on with what they do best he arranges on a few occasions to have him killed which of course never works and the demon sent never returns. After being unnerved by the Blind Girl Vanessa his finds out about he recent contract to kill some children this bothers Lindsay and we at last see a little humanity within him. Turning to his enemy Angel for help he helps him get into Wolfram and Hart and steal the files from the firms vault, Angel also takes an ancient scroll why is unknown to him in the beginning. While Angel escapes from the firm Lindsey and fellow colleagues are summoned for a random mind read.
The firms way of making sure no one goes behind their backs for anything at all, the price - Death. Lindsey knowing that they will find something is obviously very scared at the fact that he may not walk out the firm alive, however he is spared. Harland the boss takes him to one side and asks him why he has betrayed the firm by going to their sworn enemy Angel for help in defeating Vanessa. Luckily for Lindsey Harland is willing to give him time to think about what he has done and lets him go. After they defeat Vanessa Lindsey returns to the office with the disks warning that they are not the only copy and that they are to leave him alone to get on with his life. However Harland offers him a bigger and better job within the firm and the old Lindsay returns to firm. Turning against Angel once again.
After this the firm raises the demon of the underworld to recite the ritual and bring back an evil force from below, Lindsey is first at hand in the situation and in the way lie Cordelia and Wesley who ultimately end up in hospital, Cordelia with permanent visions and Wesley having been blown up in the office and the ancient scroll gone back into the hands of Wolfram and Hart. Lindsey is first there to recite the words when Angel bursts in to stop them succeeding, only Lindsey does bringing back whatever it is in the box. After Angel defeats the Demon he turns to Lindsey who holds the ancient scroll above the burning flames, Angel looks and doesn't hesitate to cut Lindsey's hand off to get t back.
Know handless and very angry Lindsey is determined to get his revenge against Angel. After Darla sleeps with Angel, Lindsey goes completely nuts he attacks Angel and almost kills him hitting him with a very large hammer.. Angel however knocks him out and he steals his truck.
After Wolfram and Hart get him a lovely new hand and he has the surgery to have this attached so to speak Lindsey notices that it begins to have a mind of it's own (anyone thinking Idle Hands here?) he learns that the hand is in fact that of a murderer who has been trapped in a case which keeps him alive along with many other people also. He and Angel, once again he goes to his enemy for help find the place and destroy it. This time Lindsey leaves town he quits Wolfram and leaves..
Darla: Darla an Anglo-Saxon derivation meaning "Dear One", was a member of the Brethren of Aurelius, in the early years of her human life in the 16th Century she made her living as a prostitute. On her death as a human the Master made a visit to her and Darla was born into the vampire world. She is a very flippant and disobedient Vampire, the master's favourite, when she met Liam he was at a bar getting drunk she waited around in the alley for him and turned the once drunken and lazy Liam into the evil Angelus, they remained together for many years, she taught him, loved him and made him into the most feared vampire of all. Together they wreaked havoc on Europe. Darla however brought the gypsy girl to Angel which for her had fatal repercussions, as the gypsies returned Angel's soul to him and Darla although she loved him rejected him as he was no longer evil.
After arriving in Sunnydale she tries to bring Angel back into their fold along with her and the Master, she even goes as far as feeding of Buffy's mother and making it look like it was Angel that did this. She eventually fails and she shows up in the middle of Angel and Buffy fighting. Hoping that after she kills the Slayer he will return, she tries to shoot Buffy just as she is about to Angel stakes her and kills his own sire.
After being raised in the last episode of season one of Angel Darla has had a great impact on Angel, firstly showing herself in his dreams and then following him and eventually confronting him. After we find out that she is in fact no longer a vampire and is in fact human she only has one thing that drives her, to live forever no matter what the cost is. And when Drusilla comes to town she achieves this goal, what will happen next?, only time will tell.
Ohh time did tell, after finally admitting to herself that she was gong to die and giving up the obsession of finding a Vampire to turn her once again she went to Angel. She knew that he would be there for her however Wolfram had other ideas and brought in Dru, holding Angel down and making him watch as Dru turned Darla once again into the undead. Angel then determined to find Darla before she rises finds them at a old abandoned nursery Dru making the preparations for Darla, he however is too late and both Darla and Dru escape Darla once again a Vampire.
They are together once again and their sole aim is to bring their family back as it was Angel alongside them, they however do not realise how strong Angel is. He sets them both on fire not killing them as Darla opens the fire hydrant and extinguishes the flames, Dru leaves and Darla runs to Lindsay it takes her time to recover but she does eventually coming face to face one again with her Angel. This time though things actually go as she wanted to, they spend a night together however it does not give Angel that one true moment of happiness and he remains with soul in tact. H warns Darla that if he ever sees her again he will kill her. She leaves.....
Darla did indeed return to LA, together with a very large bump, as legend goes it is impossible for two Vampires to have have children. In fact it is supposedly impossible for one Vampire to have a child, however Darla return pregnant with Angel's baby. They find out that the child is in fact a human and a boy, as the child is human his soul affects Darla deeply, she knows that she will in the end when he has been born kill him.
After Angel and Darla are told that she cannot give birth and the child will die they try everything to not let this happen, but it is no use. After Holtz follows them they end up in the alley with Darla in labour she knows there is nothing she can do and tells Angel to look after their child, she then stakes herself to allow her son to live.
Some months on Darla appears once more as a ghost to help Connor make choice, this is the first time that he has seen his mother, and will probably be the last.....
