Most people don’t know this because I’ve only posted a few stories but Kit was not my original main character. It started with Kita, that’s right the current Avatar of the Powers That Be. Kita was my ultimate character, strong, brave and kind. From Kita the story grew and things were added which included a theme of reincarnation to explain how the characters got their powers.
Kizap and Kizo While Kita was the first one I created she didn’t come first in the long term time line. It all started a thousand or so years before she was born. With Kizap and Kizo. Kizap was the first Great Mage of Light. She fell in love with the first Chosen One, Citla Karen. Kizo was her twin sister and was the Great Mage of Darkness, the constant outsider. They were very different but so totally tied together just like the elements of Light and Dark. They along with their friends sealed the dark wizard Lintu away on Zegwar. Kizo was often mistaken for being evil because but by the end she became corrupted by a spell Lintu placed on her and Kizap was forced to kill her. This caused the first tear in the soul which was to be sealed by the next reincarnation.
Kita and Kitwea While they were supposed to be done with their destiny Lintu was able to break free a thousand years afterwards. So the Powers That Be brought the warriors back once more. Kita was supposed to be the Great Made of Light and her twin sister Kitwea was to be the Great Mage of Darkness. But Lintu took control Kitwea instantly after birth and with no other choice both spirits, those of the Light and the Darkness went inside Kita. She became the first Great Grey Mage. The war between good and evil took on a special meaning for her and once more she was forced to kill her sister.
Kinala Kinala was Kita’s daughter and is Kitwea’s reincarnation. Kinala was strong like her mother and was able to resist the temptation of evil. And so upon her mother’s death and ascension to the Powers That Be she gained all of her power and because the second Grey Mage. But the curse of her power that caused twins to kill each her in the past didn’t spare her because she had no twin. Her latent gryphon blood was brought to the surface and created a demon-like form that lashed out at others. This was the creation of what would later become the White-Haired Kit.
The Creation of Kit Along with the theme of reincarnation there is also a theme of time travel in my stories. The characters of Kizap and Kizo were introduced when Kit and her friends were sent back in time to meet their past lives. It created it’s own plot to explain the reason behind the first story entitled “The Mages and the Scepter of Zegwar”. The story of Kizap and Kizo was called “The Founders”. The character of Kinala was introduced in the same way when she was sent back in time to meet her mother in the story “Finding the Magic Within: The Tale of Kita’s Daughter”. Again it created a whole other story line which I followed and began to write. This is where Kit comes in. When I originally made her I had no idea that she was going to become as big as she did to me. But she had a problem. Her original concept was a complete duplicate of Kita but as I wrote more she became distinctly different.
Kit, Mark and Kiram The final version of the soul that each previous character had is shown in the character Kiram Karen, the current princess of Zegwar at the time of Kit. When little Kiram was born, as it always had, her power grew, but it had finally reached a point where a single body could no longer had it. Kita, now the Powers That Be stepped in and split the child in half. Creating two bodies, a boy named Marik and a girl named Kiram. Kiram was kidnapped and taken to Earth where she became Kit (sorry for the spoiler) and the boy became Kit’s twin brother, Mark (Spoiler again). Mark was also the reincarnation of the Mage of Thunder so he doesn’t actually have a piece of the “grey soul” as I call it.
