I'm looking at going to gencon indy (hopefully if I can get a badge at the door) and was wondering if anybody had been or is going and if so could they give me some advice or maybe just have a chat about it. This is my first convention and I'm excited!

Make sure you bring some extra cash for swag, and keep the schedule handy. It'll come in handy if you want to go to a masquerade ball or panel.
