Heh. I thought that society already bar-coded us. Maybe I should get a bar code tattoo... just to be stupid.

I've read it but I HATED the ending. Probably one of the worst endings. But yes, the thought of us being like that creeps me out. It has happened in China but not with a tattoo, but a card that does the same thing.

Sigh. Such a thing seems like a possible thing now, as creepy as it sounds. Then again, I thought that we were all "bar-coded" because of how society keeps track of all of its inhabitants. It seems that we are just another number out there in the world. Individuality indeed has seemed to lose meaning as time has passed by.

I have not read them yet, but i would not dough the fact that it may happen one day. Hopefully not in my life time though. It my not be just a bar code though. There are things like optics, DNA, Finger Prints, and Voice Rec. All in all the need for papers to prove who you are will not longer be needed one day.

read tattoo..creepy, but the ending seemed so...rushed. like the author was throwing a bunch of stuff together at the end for to keep down the page count!

I have to say, this is one of those series that makes you think about the worlds future and endless possibilities of mankind's choices. Another one of these kinds of books that you guys might like is The Giver

I haven't read the second one, but the first one definately had me a bit creeped out. Me and my one friend agreed that we would go hide somewhere to avoid having anything like that happen. I've heard it is already happening though. People are implanting micro chips in babies without telling the parents. Is it creepy or what?
