Goofy Vs Pluto: Men or dogs?

You all know these two cartoon characters, Goofy and Pluto. Goofy has a son, Max, a house, can talk, and is allowed to wear clothes. Pluto has a collar, leash, doghouse, barks, and is owned by Mickey.
From this arises my debate: Why is Goofy better than, if even equal to, Pluto? What has Goofy ever done that has made him worthy of becoming a cartoon 'Man-Dog' while Pluto has been ever faithful to Mickey and crew with no reward but a bone and a pat on the head? Should Pluto remain a dog while Goofy morphs to man?

Pluto totally wins. He is just so much more lovable! And he doesn't screw up almost everything he does.

Goofy was a 'Man-Dog' ever since he was Dippy Dawg. And while Pluto 'suffers' from staying a dog, Goofy is mainly used for comic relief. What a clown.

I think that the better question to ask, is who is the most happy. While Goofy enjoys the comforts of being man, he is often treated as a secondary character. While Pluto ever the faithful companion is much more in the limelight then other characters, humanoid features or not. Perhaps in the end, Pluto is the happier of the two, while Goofy though human and not in a collar is not a happy man.

Is there any proof that either Pluto or Goofy are unhappy with being who they are? Any insider info that we can find?

Let's see; Goofy has a learning disability, and yet Pluto is still capable of completing complex problems to his well-being. I think the winner is obvious. xp
