I dunno... people don't really seem to be that impressed with the new items (I opened the falcon and wasn't that thrilled with the options). The MP price dropped from around 14000 to 11000 over night confused Maybe they'll gain popularity later on.

Well... this is the first time I ever saw any new item drop so quickly. Even when store items come out, someone sells them higher in hopes someone who doesn't know would buy em. The hair is exactly like the December item, except slightly different. Same idea, though. I guess the only positon I liked was the wings, Its neutral ground from the demonic and angelic wing petitions I see...

This has been a little bit less exciting than the previous new items days. I don't see the same mania as in the past.
I am trying to figure if it is the items or if more Gaians donated and got the items directly.

Generally people's opinions on the items relates directly to the collective perspective of the value of the item. The increased amount of sealeds in circulation brings the value down and instantly makes the item itself worse, since people have higher expectations, no matter how good the item is, because they have either invested real money, or gaian money into hoarding them for the release or personal use. Therefore most of the recent items which are not genuinely excellent items will be bad investments. And in my opinion, that covers pretty much all of the items since July 06, the 07 items being especially bad investments. Nontheless, I have decided to make a letterset, if not for the profit, then just for the hell of it...
The best of the two items released was the falcon, but that's only on the grounds that the mythical hair is COMPLETELY terrible neutral
Hope that made sense, it's nearly 4 am and I'm up in 3 hours... s**t... stare
But I just got a wooden trunk... yay biggrin

All mmonthly collectables have investement potential because their are only a set amoutn of them, after that months over they arn't re-issued. As gaia's membership continues to grow youll have newer members wanting said items, demand will go up and so will price. Thats looking long term, say you whold onto them a year and then sell them. If your looking to make money off the MC's though, best bet is to sell them right after they are allowed to be opened, I sold most of mine off befor eth eprice dropped drasticly, the rest Ill hold for long term or end up donating to someone.

the problem is that new items are coming out way too quickly
some item that might have looked "cool" one month would then become old news when other things are released
there are just too much to divert people's attentions and therefore making it hard for any item to end up in the top
and that is why i don't think it's likely for any donation items to inflate like the older ones (WAY less options back then lol)
....then there are the items that just plain suck xd *cough* sun staff *cough*

It might be just me, but I actually liked this months items more then I have a lot of the recent ones, despite their gold value. I just really like the way they look with my av.
The mythic hair does kinda suck (short of the treasure hair wich I actually love!). My main problem with the hair is that it seems to cause pixel problems. When I try to wear the treasure hair with the falcon wings, it gives me that annoying green pixel fuzz.
But yeah, this months item did drop in value WAAAAY fast. Again, I'd just chalk it up to gaia users having more money then they've had in the past, just from being on so long.

i like the hair, but its too similar to elemental hair. If you have elemental hair then you dont need the mystic hair and the other one is too masculine

Like the Damascus and Mythrill. The only way for 2007 and beyond items to be of any value in the short term as well as the long, would be if Gaia were to raise the price of them from $2.50 to even $3.00. If Gaians truely wanted them, they would pay the extra money. The item on that first month of the raise would be worth something because less would be bought, people would be outraged! I had a point and I forgot if I made it already. Too tired. Wii distracted. Etc.

I think they should stick to 2 items per letter. 3 items causes there to be too many choices. The MP is hard enough to figure out without 50% more donation items per month.

Definitely. I said 50 cents just to kinda ease to higher prices. The only problem I can see is that Gaia will most likely not do this any time soon. Why do something that would bring in less money? Sure, the prices would be higher, but the amount bought would be significantly lower. I guess if enough movie advertisement deals come in they would be more willing to raise the price. I have half a mind to start a petition for this if I wasn't so absolutely sure it would be a complete failure. Well, maybe I would later just to see how it would do. The Petition to make MC... actually collectible worthy...

well, i doubt gaia would want to bring up the prices
why would they care about how much each of the items will fetch in the market? also, people would be likely to buy more if the items aren't worth as much (and more $$$ to gaia neutral )
