Love is like winter
The warmth form summer fades
Unprepared for something
That was coming all along

Covered by bottomless layers of snow
And places of compassion are scarce and hard to uncover

Sliding down an icy hill
With no one to help you reach the summit

The widest open spaces can feel isolating
When barren trees surround you
And everything outside your mind is forgotten

Mountains of snow and ice turn to puddles
The constant chills fade
And the sky clears to make space for another summer.
