The weather was damp and foggy, the last fingers of spring as summer drew closer, the night before had given away to heavy rains and left the morning with a light mist.
But Niobe was still in a chipper mood, she and Deinos were off to one of her other gardens. She was very excited to show him, this one has a pond for water based plants that she was extremely proud of and she looked forward to sharing it with him and helping his own fondness for gardening.
She was still a bit miffed at the idea of someone being tossed out of a garden instead of taught how to do things instead, who does that? She let out a little grumpy snort as she shook her head; not someone she wanted to know that's for sure!
She hoped the weather wouldn't cause him to change his mind, she hoped that it would burn off soon and bless them with the warmth of the sunshine. Her delicate wings fluttered slightly in the wind, well wind to her but it really was just a strong breeze.
Deinos walked happily in silence beside Niobe. Usually, this long of silence made him antsy, for it meant one of the minis was upset with him over something he had done. A tipped over water bucket, a tumble in the grass as he had jokingly nudged them and hadn't calculated his strength against their smaller size correctly, or even just being late for something as he had gotten lost exploring the area of their territory. Things he never meant to do but always seemed to put a frown on his peers faces. He was glad they still offered to keep him around and hadn't abandoned him at this rate.
Deinos's heart made a little quiver in his chest as he heard the harumph next to him. He looked out the side of his eye at the petite mare, blinking moistness out of his eyes as the collected dew on the long leaf drooped over his forehead decided to splash him.
Was he pushing her too far? She was smaller than him, did she need a break? It would break his heart if he had already upset her in some way. He had never seen a cultivated pond before and was so lost in his imaginings and the gentle silence between him had he ignored her ques for rest?
Deinos cleared his throat in a soft cough. "Is there something wrong Miss Niobe? Do you need a rest?" His vines peered at her, all attention looking at her as he looked around to see if there was a good spot to take a breather if she needed.
