“Yeah, when everything simmers down. Hopefully back home.” Aile watched Ammy take off, then looked to Tatooine. “Tati? You think as a group are going to need any therapy after this?”

“Gooon. Fwy fwy.” The Flygon stretched and shook herself to get herself moving, nudging Aile to get up as everyone else was taking off.

“Yeah, yeah. Should get going. Seriously, though, no Sub yet? Hope things are alright with him.” Aile would hop onto Tatooine’s back, settling in enough for Tati to take off, keeping fairly low to the ground as she flew with Aile.

The flight was going decently well for the pair at first, nothing of interest happening with the pair, other than some snow starting to come down for them, nothing too heavy, though. After a little bit, though, the wind would pick up and the snow continued to come down harder, obscuring their vision. Tati would continue to try and fly through it, at least until an Ice Beam from out of nowhere would hit her squarely in the chest, causing the Flygon to recoil back and have Aile cling on for dear life. “Tati! Tati, you okay?” Her answer would arrive when another Ice Beam hit her again as the dragon tried to recover, consequently causing her to crash into the ground. “Gah! Tatooine!” Aile managed to worm herself out from underneath Tatooine, checking on her as she heard an angry growl come through the snowstorm.

“Gooon…” She shook herself off as she tried to stand herself up, her trainer watching her with concern.

“Tati, it’s okay, don’t try to strain yourself. We’ll figure something out…” She’d trail off as the creature shooting at them finally came into view, though it still blended in quite well with the storm. What she could make out were green stumps for arms and legs, and were those pink eyes? “What are-? Oh, oh no. That’s not good. I think that’s an Abomasnow.” She’d dig out another Pokéball, allowing Tati to stay out for the moment as Aile sent out Sarlaac. “We can try… Sarlaac, let’s try a Shadow Ball!” Aile’s mind raced as the Palossand began forming the shadowy orb in her mouth, getting ready to launch it. However, the giant yeti tree cried out again and this time summoned an intense flurry of snow and wind, the Blizzard causing Aile to shield her eyes as it hit and blew past the sentient sandcastle. When the snow cleared somewhat, she saw Sarlaac still standing, but there looked to be frost building on the Palossand’s spires. “The hell?” As Sarlaac launched the Shadow Ball, Aile would look down for a moment, tilting her head slightly as she might have felt... some sort of vibrations on the earth, coming their way. She put that out of her mind for a moment, watching Sarlaac’s attack land with notably less effectiveness, even by a neutral standard. “Wait, what? That shouldn’t have… s**t!” The only way that could have happened, probably, was that whatever Sarlaac was afflicted with had to have also brought down her offensive capabilities. Most she could do at this point was stall, is what she came to conclude. That is, unless she sent out Korriban. The golem would have been overkill by a long measure, but outside of her two weaker Pokémon, who would have been eviscerated by the tree yeti, and a Shadow Pokémon, which was in every way a no go, there was no way she’d let out the virus in a time period that had no way of fighting it off. And she needed to get to the summit somehow, she couldn’t let everyone remain stuck here while this damned tree yeti got the better of her. Those tremors were starting to get closer… “Blast it all. Sarlaac, Shore Up, now!” Aile hoped and prayed Sarlaac could get some health back before whatever the Abomasnow decided to use, and that hopefully the incoming threat wouldn’t be that big.

The first of Aile’s concerns wouldn’t be solved any time soon, though, as the Abomasnow charged forward, arms glowing green as they slammed into the Palossand, knocking her backwards before her towers slumped over. Aile scowled as she recalled the sandcastle, looking back at Tatooine, noting that she’d finally managed to stand up, then letting out a deep breath before going for her Master Ball. “Dammit all… And here’s the- Uh, what?” She and Tatooine both would sidestep as a gigantic dark brown bear with a yellow circle on its forehead came barreling out of a nearby cave, roaring as it blew past Aile and Tati and charged straight for the Abomasnow. “What in the nine hells?... Is it helping us out,” Aile asked as she watched the newcomer. The bear would slash at the yeti, landing on all fours afterwards for one mere moment before standing back up on its hind legs and roaring at the Abomasnow, who now wasn’t looking so hot. The Abomasnow stared at the bear that now towered over it, considered its current status, then ran off, deciding that it would do better than falling to the currently much healthier opponent. With that, the bear gave another, more triumphant sounding roar before landing on all fours again and turning to face Aile and Tati. It circled the pair, with Aile refusing to take her eyes off of the bear, before slowly walking up to the woman and sniffing her, showing no signs of aggression to the pair. “Whoa! Uh, hi…”

“Uru. Urrrr….” The bear looked at Aile and nodded, turning to look at Tati. “Ru?”

“Gon… Fwy. Fwy?” She pointed to the summit briefly before shivering and yawning.

“Ur.” The bear nodded back, kneeling down in an appearance to let Aile get on. The woman looked back and forth between her dragon and the bear, confused before Tati nodded at her.

“Uh, wait, you’re going to… Tati, you’re going into your Pokéball if we’re doing this,” she said to Tatooine, digging for her Pokéball. “Two Ice Beams can’t be good for you, and you don’t like the cold to begin with.” Tati nodded, with one more look at the bear as Aile nodded back, recalling the Flygon and carefully working her way onto the bear’s back. “Sorry if I’m grabbing too hard there. Climbing with one arm isn’t easy.” After maneuvering her way onto the bear’s back, she patted it gently on the back. “Alright, I’m ready then. Lead the way.” With that declaration, the bear stood back up on its legs, charging forward towards the summit.

Aile would finally arrive on the back of the newly befriended bear, sliding down to the ground once it stopped. She gave it a small scratch behind the ears, expecting it to leave now that its job was done, but as she walked to meet the others, she was surprised to find it was walking behind her still, giving a small growl, one that sounded a bit cheerful. “Huh? You’re going to?... I.. Well, alright then. If you’re going to stay with us, welcome to the team.” She chuckled despite the overall situation, before turning back around and walking up to Sub. “You b*****d. By the way, as long as nothing goes awry, Uxie said that this hairbrained idea with the Red Chain will in fact work. Nothing about the consequences of what might happen here, but this’ll work for our purposes.” Aile dug out the fang that Uxie gave her, handing it to Sub as well before digging out an Ultra Ball. If that giant bear wanted to stick around with her unprovoked, who was she to say no?

With the three items now in hand Sub would say nothing else to his teammates and instead would walk to the back of the temple, setting the items down on the ground right before the foundation ended. Why he set them was anyone’s guess as it was a long drop down if any one blew off, but alas they did not. Volo flinched as Sub set them down, the man wanting to rush over and snatch them up as he slightly leaned forward but pulled himself back. “Now then, what was it that Cogita told me to say? Hold on, I wrote it in my SNAG notes.” He said, taking his SNAG out of his pocket and proceeding to turn it on, noting the others were staring at him. “Ahem…sorry, have to power it back on.” He said, trying to will the device to power up faster, having turned it on to conserve its battery this whole time. Once it was back on he found the note he had taken. “Here we go. It was…cognitio, affectio et potentia in rubro uniuntur!” As he uttered the final word a stiff gust of wind would blow through the entire temple, a feeling of comforting warmth filling them all rather than the expected chill.

The three items would then rise up off the ground and begin to give off a glow of their respective colors of yellow, pink, and blue. Their glow would get brighter and brighter and begin to change to red as they pulled themselves into each other, the light becoming blinding as they touched. While the build up of light was somewhat slow and gradual it would end abruptly without fanfare, the light just disappearing in an instant and where the three separate items used to be was now a chain of red gemstones similar to the gems seen on the foreheads of the Lake Guardians. Watching the necklace-like chain rotate in front of him Sub would smile and reach out to take it, stopping just shy of touching it. “Darts, this is for you.” He said, stepping aside and waiting for Darts to walk up and take it. “Cogita said with this you should be able to wield your abilities in ways you never could before. Not sure exactly how or what you need to do to take us all through the distortion but she said you will know once you have the chain.”

With the Red Chain now forged and Darts expected to take it Volo would become far more fidgety than ever before, his eyes wide as he stared at Darts instead of the mythical object in front of them. Darts had seen a gaze like that before, a deep hunger and desire for something, fanatical, the man just barely able to restrain himself any longer. Behind that gaze was something else, something Darts had felt coming from Volo before but now it was very apparent what it was, it wasn’t just Volo watching him with great intent, there were two gazes in Volo’s eyes.

Above them the distortion seemed to grow more active once the Red Chain was forged, 'lightning' cracking wildly, new tears forming and disappearing at random, and its pressure more intense than ever, as if the gravity here intensified. It definitely was responding to the presence of the Red Chain and seemed almost angry, as if a tear in space-time could be angry or had any feelings at all.

As the Red Chain settles down around Darts' neck his view of the world shifts massively, like a movie shifting from black and white into technicolor. His friends and teammates shrink down from his perception, almost vanishing from his sight in comparison to the new celestial beings he could consider thanks to the power around his neck. His eyes go wide and the Snagems would see him staring up and out into space but from his vantage point he was considering the universe from a completely different perspective.

The rift above them, formerly looking like an undulatingly angry mass, now looks like little more than a door to the hybrid. Not an ostentatious, pretentious door, but a door with a handle ready to be pulled. All around him he could hear the various forces of the universe and their push and pull. He could see Entropy. He could taste Time, and feel Space expanding outwards infinitely. The lives and considerations of mortals were so beneath this new perspective their lives were little more than ants in the grand celestial game now on display before him.

Arceus' perfect design was laid out plain before Darts and his breath was swept away from the sheer magnitude of it. An elegant tapestry of planets and primeval forces comingling in perfect harmony to make up the greater universe. Gravity co-mingled with Death, and they all played their parts masterfully. As the Snagem tried to wrap his mind around this orchestral masterpiece, all at once there was a shriek of discord amongst the players. A black stain insidiously spreading like an oil drop on the edge of the tapestry.

Darts turns to face Volo, but he wasn't looking at the man himself. He was looking at the Renegade looming over him from behind. Giratina's presence that had been strumming at the gambler's instincts the entirety of this mission was revealed in full, a massive shadowy specter wrapped all around the man known as Volo. Guiding him. Controlling him. Slipping in to ruin the harmonious machine like he always did. A brutish wrench in the elegant cogworks, a drunken bellow in the midst of a perfect symphony.

The Giratina hybrid didn't have the mental facilities to even be able to speak through the enormity of what was being revealed to his mortal mind. If it wasn't for the experience of his last Master Mission and the guidance of the Laoweng, his mind would have been ground to dust already. But all the same he drug his head skyward to meet the gaze of the shadowy overlord puppeteering Volo - red eyes gazing into self-same red eyes as their consciousness considered each other. It was the same as it always was when meeting his progenitor. The same emotions radiated off the Legendary's presence. Anger, destruction. But this time there was an unexpected emotion... pride? As Giratina looked down at his vestigial son, it was almost as if Darts was proceeding exactly as he wished despite the hybrid's best efforts to the contrary. "You can run... you can fight... but in the end, you belong to me mind body and soul... My will be done." the great granite presence seemed to whisper in the back of his mind.

No! Darts pulls himself back towards reality as much as he could, turning suddenly and reaching out to try and seize the door handle with a crack that split the top of the mountain like nearby thunder.

The Snagems would have missed this entire existential crisis. To them, it looked like once the Red Chain had been placed around Darts' neck he had stared out into space for a long, almost awkward amount of time. They could have seen, had they looked, his jacket squirming and struggling as it continued to try and drag itself away from the presence of the Red Chain and upwards towards the Distortion. All at once, Darts would thrust his fist skyward, grasping at something like an invisible handle and a sonic boom would echo through the top of the temple, statues on the outside of the Temple of Sinnoh crack from the intensity of the blast. The Distortion squirms and undulates like a living bedsore before finally ripping itself open, a puckered wound in reality itself.

Darts turns to the group, wind whipping as he fixes his posture to try and stay ground-bound. His wings, normally stored away, extend out of his back - the massive shadowy red things sweeping out on either side of himself as he is clearly fighting the now-magnetic pull of the rift above them. "You..." He manages to get out, clearly struggling for the ability to say words. "You have... to grab... my jacket..." He pants, black ichor-like tears pooling at the edges of his eyeslits from the strain of his effort, two weeping stains of darkness trailing down his golden helmet as he continues to fight. It was a battle the hybrid was very clearly losing, and if anyone didn't want to get left behind they needed to grab ahold of him now.

Sensing the urgency and the sensitivity to the time, Deo quickly grabbed on the Darts jacket and closed his eyes if this was the end, he would be ready for whatever was on the other side.
Of course, if it was not the end, he would have to go to doc owl and get stitched up and he might fix some food for the group when he returned. Provided that nobody is in danger again.

Freth perked up, once again getting the feeling again she had back at the village. While she didn't have any idea what happened within the inner workings of Darts, she knew something did. Because whatever it was, he was crying ichor. A scene straight out of horror movies. "Holy sh...Darts!"

"That. Honestly. Can't be normal."

"YOU DON'T SAY!?" she couldn't help but to exclaim back to the hunter who resided within her. Was Darts even going to make this trip? Let alone with the rest of the Snagems? Either parties alive? "Augh...just hold together, Darts." She said, grabbing onto a part of his jacket. Here goes something.

Monique breathed a sigh of relief as Sub's command took the three items from the lake guardians and formed them into one long, attention-commanding Red Chain.

But she was still unsettled. For one, the distortion seemed aggravated by the chain's presence, new crackles winking and flashing in the sky. Volo clearly seemed disturbed by something, so visibly eager, though what that was she could not tell.

Darts turned his gaze up for what seemed like an eternity, briefly casting a look at Volo before turning back to the sky. The feeling of endlessness was only amplified by the enraged distortion, which sent his jacket into tortuous throes. Not even Zoroark eyes could comprehend everything that had to be going on.

A sonic boom knocked Monique off her feet, sweeping the mountaintop with such ferocity that it parted the marble carvings of the Temple of Sinnoh with the same ease that it parted the clouds off in the distance. Getting up, Monique saw two massive wings extend from his back as his fist reached into the air.

"You have... to grab... my jacket..." he faintly called out, whatever was going on clearly taking all of his stamina and attention. The sheriff, not wanting to spend another minute in this angry and alive land, obliged, a hand secured to the undulating fabric.

She had led him from peril in the dank basement of Galaxy Hall. Now, it was his turn to return the favor.

Aile watched Sub walk off to the edge, eyes narrowing as he brought out the three items there. She began to go to cross her arms, only to remember that she was missing one of the limbs needed to cross her arms. Her eyes widened when the trinkets began to glow and formed into the Red Chain, falling to rest around Darts. As soon as that happened, she turned to the bear behind her, holding out the Ultra Ball she dug out. "So. If you're serious about staying with me, you need to get into this. I give you my word that you will indeed see the light of day again, but we need to do some... long distance traveling, in a way, to get back home, and it'll be easier to have you in this than having you out trying to tag along. If you don't like the idea, feel free to-" She'd be cut off by the bear booping the Ultra Ball in in her hand with its nose, being dragged into the orb and settling in as it ended the shake early. "Well, that answers that. I'll bring you out on the other side then." Her attention snapped back to Darts when the sonic boom cracked, frowning when she saw Darts' face. Wordlessly, she'd stash the bear's ball and grab ahold of the hybrid's jacket, looking up to the sky in anticipation.

Tired from the trek up here, Keiko was kind of lost in her own mind, planning for everything she'd have to tell her husband when she got back, and looking forward to being able to sleep in a real bed as well. The sudden sound and wind quickly snapped her out of her own little world, though, as the wind caught her ears and sent them flapping and sailing through the sky behind her. She had to struggle a bit to stay upright in the sudden burst of wind, but being top-heavy like she was helped somewhat.

Wondering what changed so suddenly, Keiko looked up and saw Darts holding onto what looked like nothing for dear life. She didn't get it at first, but it made a little more sense when she realized the Red Chain was on his neck. Then she heard what he said. She couldn't get left behind now, after everything this world put her through. After everything she fought through to get here. Pushing against the wind, Keiko forced her body forward, towards Darts. It took some doing, but she managed to get ahold of his jacket about a second and a half before it would have been too late.

Amaranth, generally less privvy to fluctuations in energy and other similar feelings now that she lacked any means of it beyond typical human intuition, gave a confused look after a while of watching Darts awkward, skyward stare. She could figure something was happening with the way Darts' jacket was trying to tear itself from its wearer. "So, is the Red Chain working, or-"

She'd be cut off by the sudden movements of the Giratina hybrid, then the sonic boom making her brace herself, and finally the rift being ripped open. She wouldn't get a chance to have the composure to speak until after Darts had extended his wings and his instruction made clear. "...what. And I'm not sure how much I can stress this. The-" She then realized this wasn't the time to really remark on things. "Er. Right." She'd gingerly grip part of the jacket, tightening it soon after in preparation for whatever came next as she looked up at the rift.

Amber watched as the three fangs combined to make the red chain, which was placed around Darts' neck. She watched as the Giratina hybrid reached for the rift, seeming to grab something and create a sonic boom, which made her hunker down and cover her ears. When it had stopped, she barely heard Darts saying they needed to grab a spot of his jacket, and she was quick to reach out to latch onto it, making sure to leave enough room for her teammates. There was no way she was getting left behind.

Wren watched as Sub took the three treasures from the lake sprites to the edge of the dais that formed what he could only call an altar. It wasn't that big but it was plenty for what was needed. He watched in shock and awe as the treasures followed a command he couldn't understand when Sub spoke those strange words, rising into the air and glowing, almost shining. As the light came to a sudden stop, he blinked a few times, eyes having been locked onto the light source and needing a moment to adjust. When the newly formed red chain settled itself around Darts' neck, he started to speak but something told him that, at least for a moment at first, Darts wasn't truly present. Every legend he'd ever heard about that chain had mentioned how powerful it was supposed to be. For someone like Darts, entrenched as he was in the very myth and legend that had birthed such a divine tool, he was likely feeling things no one else here could ever hope to fathom. When the man began to move again, Wren felt thick vines tangle themselves around his feet and calves, keeping him stable and upright as the sonicboom ripped through the air. Before the hybrid spoke, Wren's eyes were drawn for a moment to Volo, standing a short distance away. The man's eyes held something more than they had before. An unquenchable hunger stirred behind Volo's eyes, barely hidden. Wren could see the veins in his face throbbing as Volo fought to restrain himself from acting. "Stay put." Wren stated rather plainly in the man's direction as he heard Darts speak and walked toward him. Ensuring he had all of his Pokemon on him, he'd take hold of Darts' jacket from somewhere he could reach, holding firmly but careful not to cause it any harm.

Beau had been waiting at the top of the mountain with Larrimore and Sub, having decided to take advantage of his new mobility with his Charizard to take both hybrids to their destination and actually keep somewhat warm. So he got bear witness to the Red Chain as it began to forge itself, the disparate parts coming together to somehow create a metal chain of entirely organic materials. Which was a certainly bizarre thing to witness. Especially given how much energy seemed to be trying to go into the process but ultimately amounting to showing little of that energy off with the creation. This was such a...bizarre process. But who was he to question this? By some quirk of reality, he was partially a Pokemon and they had ended up here through reality ripping itself apart by accident. Maybe all the materials and the energy were doing some weird stuff with chemistry.

And then it was passed off to Darts. And Beau could hear and see the shudder in reality before anything began to show. The second the hybrid touched the Red Chain and for a second before the lightning and rifts in reality started showing themselves, Beau could see the hint of something shuddering at the very edge of his visual range. Nothing he could identify fully but one of those natural phenomena that goes unnoticed by normal humans and sends only the most sensitive Pokemon scattering. All it meant for Beau was that the strange pause many of the other Snagems were experiencing was filled with a tension as he attempted to find something, anything, to justify the amount of panic that Darts grabbing onto the chain seemed to have instigated.

But as Darts' wings spread out, Beau would grab onto Larrimore's shoulder before dragging both of them and Zippo to grab onto the Giratina hybrid's jacket. "Don't ask me. Grab the jacket. There's....there's something besides what we're seeing. And I don't want to argue with the man who can probably see it." Beau explained as he brought all three of them towards Darts, eyes continuing to dart around in an effort to see if he might be able to see what he thought Darts could see.

Larrimore was pulled along by Beauregard, had to be, the Pinsir hybrid's insect instincts were going crazy at the moment and had almost paralyzed him, had his bug friend was not completely consumed by all the stimuli around them he didn't know. He would grab onto Darts' jacket as instructed and looked to Beauregard and spoke right before they would be sent through time and space. "I can feel the sword." Larrimore cryptically told the butterfly man. Maybe he was just delirious with everything going on, but in this moment he truly felt the sword's presence, in spite of it being sent to a time and place unknown to all.

Volo wanted to grab on as well, to travel through the distortion and see what truly lied on the other side, however something would let him, a presence gripping him, comforting him, telling him there were greater things in store for him here. Looking at Darts his eyes grew brighter and a large grin formed. Yes, he could see it now, Darts was not part of his grand scheme, he was simply a messenger, a herald for the things to come, the secrets he would learn. Finally, everything he dreamed of would come true and Darts brought to him the method of which he could use to make it happen. Looking at Darts he waved goodbye, Volo's eyes burning an intense red color as the Renegade dug its claws into the mortal. This wasn't goodbye however, they will meet again, it told Volo of that much.

Sub would be the last to grab onto Darts' jacket, apprehensive for a moment as he too went still as Darts took possession of the Red Chain and if he could get any paler he would have. While the others saw nothing that Darts did, Sub included, the 'Dark One' felt something, a tremendous presence from the other side of the distortion above them, Sub looking up to the sky in this moment rather than at Darts. He felt it, something somewhere was calling to him, beckoning him through this doorway. It felt familiar somehow, extremely so, and it felt powerful, terribly so. For some reason in this moment he thought of Reno, then of Crystal, Aden as well. Was he just missing them? He couldn't think on it any longer, it was quickly consuming his thoughts, thinking about his friends back home wasn't important at this moment, he had to grab a hold of Darts' jacket if he wanted to see them again and that he did. Yes, he missed them very much.

With everyone grabbing a hold of Darts' jacket the Giratina hybrid would unleash the full extent of his capabilities and without further warning the group was sent hurtling through the space-time distortion in the sky, however the 'lift off' was strange in that there was no feeling of movement, as if they weren't moving but reality itself was moving around them, but even that wasn't right and these feelings would only become more confusing as they were now traveling through the Distortion World itself, Hisui disappearing for them in an instant, no sign of where they entered to be seen.

The shattered realm was beyond the comprehension of all except for Darts in this moment, the mortal minds of the Snagems trying their best to explain where they were. Their minds saw a vast expanse of dimly lit darkness, light sources unknown, with random pieces of earth floating about. Fields of grass upside-down, ponds without soil to contain them, rivers flowing in loops, floating buildings stacked like blocks, trees that grew in impossible shapes, and waterfalls that flowed upwards. Nothing about this place made sense and everything here looked like it was taken from random locations in the mortal world, however there was no Pokemon or other beings to be found here.

Darts would expertly guide them through the Distortion World, or maybe it was his jacket doing the work. Either way they passed through the forgotten realm, moving yet standing still. As they neared their destination, the group was able to see Mount Silver coming into view, the space around them gradually gaining more and more detail, more land appearing, holes being filled in. The Distortion World was giving way to their reality. As their world began to 'build' itself and the Distortion World receded a dark shadow wiggled over them, serpentine in shape and a pair of massive red eyes filled with hate glared at them from above. This shadow would gradually disappear with the Distortion World and before any of the Snagems knew it the Distortion World was gone and now they stood in the valley of Mount Silver, from their position the entrance to the mountain's caves just straight ahead. A spooked pack of Ponyta and Rapidash would flee from their sudden appearance.

They were home. The Red Chain in Darts' possession would crumble as they arrived, the falling pieces dissolving into nothingness, the object not belonging to this place and time. With it gone Darts would once again be denied of his true potential, however that strength will forever and always be within him and perhaps one day he'll learn to wield it effortlessly. All there was left to do now is walk back to headquarters, provided they actually made it to the right place and time.
