User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was well past curfew. Moonlight stretched long shadows through the quiet halls of Rengoku which a slim figure stuck to. Clad all in black with a makeshift utility belt, the slim figure utilized the security team’s patterns to sneak through the school undetected. Getting into the office took the longest. It had been a while since Aella had needed to use a bobby pin to pick the lock on anything and she could feel her heart strumming in her ears as the seconds passed. Eventually she managed to get the tumbler to move. Before she set foot inside however, she banged together two erasers to check for any security sensors. The headmaster’s office wasn’t some super secret vault or anything, but she felt like it was a precaution she needed to take.

Whether it worked or not remained to be seen. Aella didn’t spot any laser beams or whatever so she assumed that there weren’t any and slipped inside. The door was closed and locked behind her to give her the privacy she needed to sneak around. She was flipping through contents on the desk with a a small headlight for vision when she head movement on the other side of the door before fumbling with the lock. A rush of adrenaline dumped into her veins and she had trouble keeping her movements calm and subdued when she wanted to just bolt. Aella had to do this. She needed to find something to please Professor Kalen or he’d have his dirty hands all over her again. With a deep breath, she clicked the light on her head off and shrunk under the desk to hide.

There were clicks of each pin getting forced into place as the person on the other side did their best to keep the tension up. Unbeknownst to Aella, this man didn't just have a bobby pin though. He had an entire tool that was made for handling locks like this. Still, it took the stranger quite some time before he managed to actually get the final click out of the lock and turn it. A tall figure completely clad in black stood in the doorway for a few seconds, refusing to step in. This person actually seemed like something out of a movie. He was already clothed in a black hoodie and dark pants that'd keep him out of sight. On top of that though, he was wearing a special pair of thin gloves that would actually hide his finger prints and high-tech pair of glasses. Although, the mask was very familiar... Well, that was if Aella ever poked her head out to take a look at the person.

The stranger wasn't a professional though... Just a paranoid nerd who didn't want to be hear. Mephitis could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he looked over the room for a little while. He had preparing himself for this ever since he got the letter. He had gotten a set of clothes through his contacts that he could burn later. He had gotten a pair of new shoes that were a different size so they couldn't be traced back to him. Hell, he had even taken a very high-end pair of glasses from his sister's company in order to make sure he could record and check for traps. Speaking of which, the young man brought one hand up to his glasses and changed through various settings to see if any would reveal possible tripwire systems within the office. As far as he could tell, nothing...

He moved into the room afterwards and slowly closed the door behind him, making sure that it was locked. He threw the lockpicking tool back in his pockets and then headed towards the desk. He immediately started rifling through the files on top, unaware that he wasn't alone.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. What in the actual ******** was happening right now? Okay, that was a stupid question because Aella knew exactly what was happening. Someone else was breaking into the Headmaster's office at the same time. Was it a competitor or just some lame student trying to change their grade to avoid being grounded from Prom? No way to tell just yet. Aella pulled her hood up to shadow her face before placing her hands flat on the ground to steady herself so she could crane her neck down to peer at the doorway to watch the unfamiliar figure entered the room. It was too dark to see much detail, but Aella was going to go with competition and not another student. The way the moonlight coming through the windows crested on their clothing made it look expensive and tactical compared to her fitted tank top, yoga pants, and worn black sneakers. This complicated things. Kalen hadn't warned her about anyone one else searching for the artifact but if that were the case, his pressure to locate it quickly made more sense- not that she was trying to understand that a*****e or anything. Still, it gave her a bit more perspective into her own situation.

More importantly, what should she do about it? She couldn't let them get to any clues first which meant she needed to take care of them somehow. Worse yet- they were coming straight for the desk! ******** ******** ********! Aella wasn't ready for this, she hadn't thought up a plan yet! Eyes darted back and forth as she lifted her head and tracked the movement of the enemy's feet around the desk. They were in front of her- unsuspecting. Her heart beat thrummed like a drum against the inside of her chest as she steadied her breath, letting it slide in and out in a slow, controlled motion. This was fine. She was fine. Everything was fine. Okay, so the plan. When the intruder reached for the bottom drawer on the left, she'd use that as an opportunity to handcuff their wrist then slap the other one to the leg of the desk. Yes, solid plan. Ever so slowly, she slid the metal out of the triangle shaped yoga pockets that ran the length of her thigh- careful not to make more noise than the rustling of papers or the opening and closing of drawers.

Not a damn thing of importance upon the top desk. It's not like Mephitis was at all surprised by this outcome but he had been hoping things might be easy. Were they ever though? The only damn bone life had thrown him lately was Akyrie! She really was the one thing keeping the poor boy going strong through this ridiculous bullshit. However, he couldn't think of that right now! He needed to focus upon the task at hand and get out of here quickly. The boy's eyes working around the desk once more as he did his best to try and place everything back where it was. It was best to make it not too obvious that someone had been here after all. The less evidence he left of an intrusion, the less consequences he would have to deal with afterwards.

Once that was done, the boy stepped back just a bit and started to reach his hand down for the drawers... Starting with the bottom left. It was a blessed miracle for Aella that he hadn't seen her as he grabbed onto the handle and started to pull upon it.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. There was one good thing about being under the desk rather than in front of it. When her opponent pulled the drawer out, she spotted something taped to the bottom of it. From his vantage point, he was oblivious to the drawer's secret. Unfortunately, she could not retrieve the taped object and fine out what it was just yet. First she needed to trap the man. Aella waited with baited breath for the hand to slide the drawer shut and when the wrist was coming for her, that's the moment she struck. Barely a moment passed between when she moved and when the cold clicking sound signaled the hard metal was clasped around the limb. Now the tricky part, getting it to the table. She was pretty fast for a human. Between martial arts and dance, her body was limber and her reflexes were good. However her opponent looked just as fit. It would be a matter of perception, how prepared he was as well as his ability to jerk away in time as Aella lurched the other cuff for the leg of the desk.

Mephitis wrenched the drawer upon before diving his hand into the contents within. The boy was meticulous with his search as he didn't want to miss a single piece of information that might be vital. However, as his fingers flicked through paper after paper and item after item, he found that this drawer was absolutely useless to him. Well, as far as he knew, it was. He just let out an exasperated sigh before pushing the drawer back in place, ready to proceed to the next one. He would never get the chance though as he watched the glint of metal suddenly pass before his very eyes. Had he really seen that? He didn't need to wonder long as the cuff suddenly snapped around his wrist. The sheer feeling spooking the young man instantly and forcing him to jerk away on pure instinct.

"W-What the ********!?" He gasped out while tearing his body away from the desks. His feet kicking wildly as he tried to put some distance between him and whatever the hell was underneath. It was a miracle he hadn't tripped... yet.

There was no chance for her. The strength of the stranger far out weighed any amount of surprise that gave her an edge over the larger figure. He was faster than she was too. Aella didn't even have time to release the steel before she was yanked forward. He lithe form was so light compared to the unexpected force that she practically flew forward despite being well grounded in her crouch. As a result, she couldn't help but fall out of balance, landing onto her knees as the arm that held the open cuff was stretched all the way past the man's legs. However, that wasn't the worst of it. He had pulled her arm so far past him that it felt like it might come out of its socket of he had pulled any further while the rest of his body stood as an obstacle for the rest of her. "Mmmmph!" Aella cried as her face planted right into the front of the man's pants at such an angle where her mouth sat right at the base of his zipper, head tilted slightly from the uncomfortable stretch. Mephitis would have a brief view of her wide eyed, crystalline orbs catching on the moonlight before she registered what had just happened and released the cuffs. In an attempt to scramble backward, she placed her other hand on the top of his thigh to use as a spring board.

Mephitis didn't realize that he had just saved himself from getting locked down to the desk. However, he didn't even have time to consider that as he wondered what in the ******** he had just pulled out from under it! Whatever was locked around his wrist was attached to something else right then, and it was coming right along. This only made the poor dragon panic more as he kept pulling his arm back further until he felt something slide up right against his legs... No, it was between them. He went wide eyed for a few seconds before slowly looking down to check what in the hell was down below. It had to be some intruder right? He should just hit them and knock them out. That, or try to trap them. The only thing he could think about though is what they were pushing up against! Even now, he could feel his face burning hotter and hotter as he looked down but it was about to get so match worse.

"Ae... lla?" The dragon squeaked out as he saw those familiar crystalline eyes shine in the light for just a few moments. No, there was no ******** way, right? Why would she be hear right now? What purpose did she have for being in the principles office? Yes, he thought of her as a bit of a delinquent but not this bad! He had to have been seeing things. The dragon refocused as he realized that the other intruder was starting to move again. His hands diving down to grab her by the wrists before she could make another move. However, it was likely too late given that his mind had floated to past memories and lewd nightmares.

If both of her hands had been in the same location, she could have gotten away, perhaps even made it to the door and bolted before he had caught her. Unfortunately, the one that had been pulled so far past him didn't retract fast enough. It was that wrist that was caught. His hands may have been on the more average size, but he was still able to get his fingers wrapped all the way around her wrist since it was thinner than the average female. Aella had very delicate bone structure which made it seem like he could crush the limb if he really wanted to- even without his dragon strength.

He might have though he'd caught her then, but as with any cornered animal- it only made her more viscous. The instinct to fight back only compounded with the sense of recognition. When her name was uttered, her blood ran deathly cold in her veins and her vision went red. Her body jerked as the tension from his arm yanked her back in a whiplash movement but with her adrenaline so high, she came back prepared. As soon as her momentum was forcibly shifted, Aella went with it and used that motion as leverage to c**k back a palm strike with her freehand that aimed straight for the family jewels.

Mephitis was shocked that he actually managed to catch the other intruder's wrist in the moment. However, he wasn't going just stand there and stare in amazement. He needed to capitalize on this opportunity and actually put his opponent down. Unfortunately for him, Aella was already switching up her plans. The girl was already coming right back at him with a strike aimed straight at his crotch, clearly wanting to put Meph down for the count! Well, it was clear to the dragon that whoever it was didn't care for playing fair. So, perhaps, he didn't need to hold back on this a*****e. Would it be so bad to release a lot of pent of stress and anger on this idiot? He didn't know but he had no time to think up such questions. He needed to block! So, he swept his free arm down as hard as he could and smacked Aella's hand to the side. Even if it hit his leg, it was far better than actually getting punched in the family jewels.

"Don't ******** with me right now!" Mephitis growled out as he tightened his grip upon the arm he did have. He suddenly twisted it to the side and pulled up as if trying to dislocate it! It was clear that he had little mercy for this stranger. His other hand coming around to try and grab them by the throat... However, instead of a human hand coming out, long talons pierced through the glove stretching outward towards Aella's neck. The glove stretched tight over the massive claw. He'll just have to do the search later, carefully using his other hand. However, right now, he needed to stop his enemy, even if that meant poisoning them. Hey, it was easier to apply it through his claws... And not end up killing the target.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. A soft grunt puffed through the nylon of her turtleneck as her hand was batted away. Her palm did ran right into his thigh with as much strength as she could muster, but to a dragon it likely didn’t pack much of a punch, especially since the muscle in that location was so dense and she was using the heel of her hand rather than the pointed edge of a knuckle or an elbow. Since her strike failed, Aella reverted back to women’s defense 101. When a man grabs your wrist, angle the skinny part right at the part where the man’s forefinger and thumb connect and sweep the limb toward it. That was the theory anyway. In reality- or at least this particular situation- it didn’t work as expected. The second Aella’s wrist began to twist to the right angle, he jerked her off balance, growling as his other hand turned into a massive dragon claw that wrapped easily around her throat.

Aella let out a cry of pain from how hard her arm was stretched and her hand went to the claw at her throat, attempting to curl her fingers over the top of one armored digit just in case he started choking her. Aella wasn’t sure how much that would actually help, but she had to try. In any case, there were other things she could do now. She blinked away the tears that had pooled in her waterline from the sudden pain as something suddenly clicked. Between speaking again and the claw transformation, she now knew who the intruder was. Shocked? Definitely. Impressed? Actually, a little bit. Was it bad that angry Mephitis was a little hot? Oh god. She didn’t just have that though. Ugh, just another reason to hate that man. What had he done to her?! Focus Aella, focus. In the time she was acting subdued, Aella wouldn’t answer any question Meph may have asked her during the handful of seconds she had an identity crisis. He’d see her eyes glaze over somewhat, looking at him in an almost hazy way before her vision focused. When she came back to herself, she had a plan. “M- Mephitis?” Aella squeaked, purposely trying to disguise her voice to sound like one of those cute homework helper girls they had at the library. She hoped hearing his name would throw him off and if it didn’t, well this next part was going to go really poorly. There wasn’t enough time for Aella to wait to see if her ploy had worked since he would recover quickly so she just went for it.

Since she was still on her knees, holding her by the throat didn’t actually do much for him. He had to hunch somewhat to reach her and she had plenty of momentum right beneath her feet. Aella curled her toes under and shifted one foot forward so she could move upward, actually moving into the hand that was choking her with the intent to collapse the arm against him and full on barrel tackle the young dragon, grapple and all.

Mephitis could easily tell that he had the advantage in speed and strength so far. His reactions able to place him just a bit ahead of the stranger. Meanwhile, his power able to overwhelm any action that they might take. He just needed to push this a little further and he could actually end this fight just as fast as it began. He just needed to commit! Just wrap his claw a big tighter around their throat and knock them out! However, that little voice in the back of his head filled him with doubt, what would happen if he held it for too long? He would be able to give them proper CPR. What if he used too much strength and seriously injured their spine? ********! Of all times to doubt himself, why now? He was just going to make things so much worse. Commit! Well, the chance was gone in a split second as Aella suddenly squeaked out his name.

”W-what? How do you…” Meph fell right into Aella’s trap as all of his confidence and anger suddenly slipped away. The young man was just far too easy to toy with. A would-be hero that constantly put himself in harm’s way for others? How could he resist a ‘helpless maiden’ in danger! The pain in his voice making him falter while he wracked his mind for answers. Who was this?! Who had a voice like that and knew his name as well. It was feminine but it didn’t match any of the girls he knew. So, how the hell did they know him!? Given Meph’s current focus in seeking needless answers, the boy wasn’t even close to prepared for her next attack. His eyes growing wide underneath his glasses as Aella lunged into him. His feet lost any footing they had and he could only watch as he started to tumble backwards. The only thing that he could be thankful for was that he was partially-transformed so it numbed the pain some. However, he was now on his back and had an assailant who knew him! He needed to fight back.

”You want some? Fine! I’ll…” Mephitis was about to launch a threat and a few uncoordinated punch until a familiar scent hit his nose… Vanilla. The crystalline eyes, the skinny wrists and neck, and now this!? ”Aella!? Are you ******** kidding me right now? Every damn turn and you’re there to ruin my damn life lately!” Instead of Mephitis calming down from the fact that he knew the assailant, he got even more fired up. The boy using his arms, legs, and weight to roll them over so he’d be on top.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. It worked! Aella went over with him and wasted no time in batting his hand away from her neck and pushed his arms to his sides as she climbed on top of him. Her intent was to pin the boy’s forearm’s down with her knees as she straddled him, keeping her thighs tight and her center of gravity forward so he couldn’t push up even if he wanted to. Both hands anchored onto his shoulders, just in case she needed the extra leverage to keep him down. If he had been in his human form, it would have been rather effective in keeping the boy pinned. However there was such a difference between her ability and his when his dragon strength was in effect. Aella probably felt no heavier than a pillow to the teen dragon and in the blink of an eye, she found herself staring up at him.

What the?! Sculpted brows furrowed and her eyes narrowed angrily. This was not the business! Her legs were still around his body, knees bent as he laid on top of her but she refused to just lay there. Aella’s hips bucked upward and twisted, trying to throw Meph off of her. ******** heavy piece of dragon s**t. Argh! A high pitched growl of frustration rumbled in her chest as she attempted to toss him several times but to no avail she was not able to throw him off of her and only ended up reverse humping him. Meph would feel her slender form begin squirming underneath him and if he hadn’t secured her hands by now, he’d find a flurry of palm strikes and general slaps coming to bat him in the face. At this point she wasn’t even trying to fight him off, she was just trying to smack him to relieve her frustrations in pure spitfire fassion. “I was here first a*****e! You’re the one getting in my way!”

Now that Aella was pinned beneath him, Mephitis could easily tell that it was Aella. That lithe frame that felt like it could break like a twig beneath him. Those aggravated sounds with every move that she made. Hell, the way she found back against him in pure frustration without any real coordination. It just fit Aella's attitude all too well. He already knew who it was as soon as he smelled the vanilla in the air, but this all just solidified it. It was so ******** ridiculous! Why was she even here right now? What did she gain from sneaking into the principal's office at this hour? Yeah, she was a trouble maker but Mephitis never pinned her for something this bad. Granted, she likely was wondering the same thing right now. Why were either of them here? For Meph, it was a very dangerous answer. Was she perhaps in the same predicament? That seemed like a reach, right?

"The hell do y- Don't hit me!" Mephitis growled out angrily as he suddenly grabbed both of Aella's hands and pinned them straight to the ground. The power behind his movements making it obvious just how angry he was. For once, he really wasn't holding back against Aella. He wasn't even thinking about the fact that her body was pressing up tight against his own. No, he was far too pissed off, annoyed, and stressed out for such stupid thoughts. "I'm in your way? Is that what it's been this entire week? I've been in your damn way? Why the ******** are you even here right now, huh? Let me guess, you can't give an answer for some stupid reason. Just more silence and then you'll go back to annoying the hell out of me for trying to be the nice guy. I am seriously not in the mood for it. So, what is it? An actual answer or silence again?"
