Catching up to Visage only to realize the little Ghost Dragon was too far away to be of any help against that Kricketune was a bit of a let down to the hybrid, though they would shake it off fairly quickly. This was a somewhat exhilarating experience for them and they felt excited, in some way, for reasons currently unknown. The swarming bugs all over the place were proving far bigger of a threat that they presented at face value and this as proving to push both Clare and Visage to their current limits in order to provide any degree of assistance. They'd manage to catch up to the rest of the Snagems in the town rather quickly, at this point, enough to hear Sub's plan unfold. With a nod from Clare, the hybrid would head off toward the Pokemon Center as they'd been directed, keeping their little Dreepy at their side along the way. "Visage, I have an idea!"

The little Ghost turned it's attention to Clare immediately, cocking it's head to one side as it focused on their words. "Use Quick Attack to get near those Pokemon, then use Double Team and leave a double behind to guide them. Once you've got all of their attention, lead them away from the building and use Dragon Tail to send them flying!" The alien hybrid instructed. Looking around, they'd find a piece of wire that had already managed to be chewed entirely off from both ends. It was flexible enough to be used as such and so they'd use it as a makeshift whip, cracking it at the floor as Visage took off like a shot to assist their Pokemon in gaining the attention of the musically mind-controlled insect hive. Hopefully Aile had some way of either backing up Clare or had some kind of plan that could work with it or instead if this failed. "I hope you're more used to emergencies like this than me..." they'd offer by way of apology if this didn't pan out correctly. If it did, though? Maybe Aile could provide the needed firepower to really put a stop to these bugs. It wouldn't take long to find out if it did or if they were simply being too optimistic here.

After seeing what happened and the hoard of bugs approaching, Deo heard sub and nodded in agreement. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he saw the horde and a shadow coming off one. He knew then this one was the target. "There! It is walking in the back and he looks really mad!" as he pointed and kept his sight on it and from there, he maintained focus on the shadowy figure within the X-Ray vision.

"Oh, so those are the starters here? That's cool," Monique replied to the boy. "I'm sorry if I seem a bit out of sorts, but...uhh, I'm not from here."

"Well, I've never seen a Pokémon like that." The young Trainer pointed to her Marowak. "Here, all the Marowak are Ground-type..."

"She comes from a place called Alola, and so do I—" the sheriff began when Marowak was struck by accidental friendly fire. Luckily, it was friendly Fire and would be less damaging than otherwise due to type resistance.

“Um, miss? I know your funny-looking Marowak can use Fire moves... but is it going to be okay with that?” It was one of the two girls.

"Should be," Monique explained. "She's Fire and Gho—" The Kricketune let out its savage sound again, making Monique cover her ears.

"You’re going to stop that bug, right? It won’t ruin the Poké Swap Festival in front of the Global Trade Station, will it?"

"Wait, what's this about a festival?"

"Lots of people gather for it—" The boy stopped mid-sentence as it became clear that the latest shrill sounds were sending the Kricketot into a frenzy again. Worse yet, it was clear they were going for heavily trafficked places in the center of town. She saw swarms chasing other people inside any open door they could find.

A chime sound went off, GRAY's notification tone. "...Leon, Monique, go help out the Trainer’s School."

"I gotta run! Stay safe!" Monique said to the young Trainers, rushing off toward the site indicated in the message. It was a modest, low-slung two-story building with a fenced yard out front for Pokémon battles and demonstrations. However, on this evening, it was literally swarming. There were Kricketot outside the front door, evidently some of them having not made it in before the doors closed, and Monique could hear the sounds of screaming and movement. Monique knew she was going to need to get in somehow.

"Flamethrower! We're gonna need to roast some more bugs!"

Marowak's flames proved handy once again, clearing enough space near the door to avoid bug bites. However, the front entrance was locked. "Grrr!" She looked up, hoping for an opening, and while none was to be found on 2F, she spotted an open first-floor window. It was too high for the Kricketot to reach, but it was no problem for Monique to grab Marowak and jump through.

The two landed on the cold tile floor of one of the classrooms. Personal effects were strewn about on desks, and there was writing on the whiteboard about common status conditions. More than that, though, there were Kricketot flailing about. The bugs started to fling themselves at her, sensing a threat, prompting the sheriff to command Marowak to use Flamethrower to char the Cricket Pokémon to a crisp. I could use Oricorio right now, she thought to herself, hoping Leon would arrive soon.

Noting the sudden increase in energy from Kricketune, Sol wondered if perhaps he went a little too hard on the attacks. Given the nature of what the team was dealing with, he quickly shook off that notion and chalked up its ability kicking in as a bit of bad luck. It did mean more caution would be needed; anything with abilities like that were even more akin to being cornered, second only to the literal version. Then he heard the remark about the Poke Swap Festival.

"I'm sorry, the what now? That's happening right now?" If anything, Sol's musings immediately inverted and he wondered if he should've hit the Kricketune harder at the risk of harming the young trainers' Pokemon. But now wasn't the time to worry about what if, not when the Kricketot had caught up and started their Infestation and the Kricketune raced off for another chance at causing quite the superspreader event. Much as everything would need addressing fast, the biggest threat was still the Kricketune; if they could be stopped, he figured that'd also stop most everything else.

He'd already started after the Kricketune again by the time he heard Sub, his head turning briefly to acknowledge what was said. "I see we're on the same page then," Sol remarked, able to keep up without too much trouble. Inigo, all things considered, kept up a good pace himself thanks to the earlier Flame Charges.

As soon as they got to the GTS alongside Sub and Deo, they were good to go with the plan. He and his Scorbunny stayed ready for Deo to pinpoint where Kricketune was, and once he had, it wasn't long before the second part of the plan went into motion and Inigo started readying another Flame Charge, picking up a little more speed- but it'd be nothing compared to what was coming. "We're ready, Sub! Go ahead and Baton Pass anytime!" He spoke up, ready for the Baton Pass to do its work. He knew what to expect and wasn't too worried about not expecting it. Afterwards might be a different matter for Inigo, but in the moment, he wasn't worried about him either.

As for the Ho-oh hybrid, he'd be ready to follow up; provided the plan kept going without a hitch, he'd jump shortly after Inigo's charge to land a Flamethrower from above, gaining a little height in the process of roasting the bug with (hopefully) relative precision. The hand he didn't use for the attack was ready with a second Flamethrower just in case, though he wagered it'd be trickier to aim if he missed with the first one.

Brian cursed under his breath as the Shadow Kricketune dodged Firebrand's Flamethrower, which unfortunately hit Monique's Alolan Marowak. Being part Fire-type, it shouldn't hurt it too bad, but still. He was about to order another Flamethrower when Sub's voice sounded, and he gave a nod in response to the order. He could see masses of Kricketot swarming the city, and he knew they would have a fight on their hands. Fighting so many at once would likely tire Firebrand out, but the Magmortar was the only choice available to him at the current moment. He couldn't use Lu because of her type disadvantage, especially with how many Kricketot there were in the city now, and Sparx was still too young and inexperienced to take on this many bugs.

So he decided to stick with Firebrand, and hope that Sub, Deo, and Sol could somehow capture the Shadow Kricketune before any massive damage could be done. "Firebrand, use a weak Flamethrower on the Kricketot closest to us, start making a path toward the stage for Aria," he said. While it probably wouldn't do all that much with the sheer number of bugs in the vicinity, he was hoping the heat from the Fire-type attack might make them at least try to get away from it.

Absinthe and Angela continued to burn their path through the horde of Kricketot until they found themselves in Jubilife City. Confused, Abby looked around. "Crap, must not've been payting attention where we were going. We gotta head ba-" she said, cutting herself off when she saw a nearby group of what looked to be old poeple being assaulted by assorted Kricketot. Abby didn't see the stage nearby, nor did she pay it any heed. 'Crud. Angela, you'll have to drop the fire and be careful not to hit any people. Go get that group of Kricketot off those old folks," Abby reluctantly ordered.

Equally worried about hitting old humans, Angela ran up to the crowd and carefully aimed Pecks around the humans, trying to dispose of as many tiny bug Pokemon as she could.

Aile sighed as the Bidoof simmered down, turning to her Pokémon. Rancor was now trying to squirm out of Tatooine’s grasp, with the little dragon growling angrily and Tati glaring at him in annoyance. “Well… That can’t be good. Tati, get ready to fly, we’re going to be playing catch up. And as for you, Rancor, I think you need to simmer down for a moment, bud.” She took out his Pokéball and recalled the Gible, sighing. “Tati, you need to be a little nicer, you know…” The trainer hopped onto her dragon’s back, holding on tightly to her staff with one hand as they flew after the Kricketot. “Why just the staff? Unless… Hrmph.”

“Gon!” The Flygon took a glance back at her trainer for a moment, barking something at her before looking forward again.

“Well, they took my staff of all things! Why that, something that wasn’t even out and threatening, when I had a Gible and you? Telling me to focus,” she grumbled, pulling her SNAG out for an update. "Uh... Well, Tati, we're going to the Pokémon Center. Let's go!"

Once the pair got there, Aile looked around, noting that what was supposed to be the place was covered with the little buggers. "Hrm. That's not okay. Tati, use Air Slash and try to get them off of the building!" Tatooine would comply, flapping her wings to make blades of air to lash out at the bugs, hopefully get them off of the building and away from it.

Leon glared at the remaining Krickeott, but then they soon flew off. "...What's north?" He said as he realized what was happening. He returned Roserade to her Pokeball. They went to the city.

As he made it to the town, Leon was breathing heavily as he watched waves of Kricketot going around. He noticed Sub as he was told to get to the Trainer School. Of all places for a Poison Channler to be, a school? "Understood." Once Leon made it to the school, he noticed Monique was already inside the school by jumping into the window opening on the first floor. Leon jumped through with ease as he noticed Monique and her Marowak. "Pyroar I need you!" Leon shouted as a large lion popped out of the small Pokeball. Pyroar stretched it's entire body and shook its long mane. "Pyroar will be able to carry some kids and staff on its back so we can bring them to safety. We'll need to work fast."

Aria would hang back for a minute as she watched her two allies start torching their way through the gathered Kriketot, doing her best to route how to reach the stage with Billy. Taking a moment as the Flamethrower from Brian's Marowak shot out, she would shoot forwards with her Toxel in her grasp as she made for the stage. Sliding between the slowly coalescing bugs, the singer would soon find herself on the stage with the microphone. Not alone though, as a few of the Kriketot followed along to pester her as she began setup. "Alright, Billy. Showtime. Go as loud as you can! Belch!" Aria shouted, ducking underneath a tackling Kriketot. The Toxel would quickly down a berry, building up before unleashing an earthshattering explosion of noise, sending the bugs scattering.

Quickly finishing up with setup, Aria would take a minute to figure out the approximate frequency of the tone this time and once again would begin singing a note that she figured would counteract it. Except this time she didn't have to power it herself. She has the power of speakers and electricity to provide the volume this time. Let's see how well it works this time.

At first Clare’s idea seemed to work, Dreepy was able to pull a few Kricketot away in frustration and smack them away with Dragon Tail with its trainer aiding it with the makeshift whip. She would get a good five flying away with her Lingering Pokemon before she noted that a group of angry Kricketot were now staring her down, chittering as they prepared to swarm her like before, the once cute but now menacing bugs preparing to attack her. That was when Aile and her Flygon showed up, Tatooine executing an Air Slash and dispatching the entire group of Kricketot threatening Clare in one go. With that done the dragon turned to the Pokemon Center and began to cut down the other Kricketots on the building. As the numbers fell Clare would spot something unusual, a teenage boy hiding behind the dumpster on the side of the Pokemon Center, crouched down in a fetal position holding his badly wounded Buizel to its chest. It looked wounded, was he trying to get it healed before all this happened? It needs help, however it would appear there was no power to the automatic doors of the building, obviously damaged from the swarm.

Monique made it to the Trainer’s School first, Marowak immediately roasting some bugs outside the school and then some more after its trainer made it in through the second story window. While Marowak did keep some at bay, more kept swarming towards Monique, nipping at her with their Bug Bites, some even managing to rip some fur out. There was one good thing about this, the bugs were more worried about Monique than Leon, her own Dark energies telling their primitive brains that she was the one to target. Leon and Pyroar were able to make it right down the hallway to where they would find the last room’s door partially closed, someone on the other side trying to close it however there were a couple of Kricketot wedged it trying to get in. Inside the room was the entire student body. All Leon had to do was dispatch these few nuisances and Pyroar could take the children to safety, though he better hurry, from the sound of it the entrance on the first floor just gave in and the swarm was coming. As for Monique, if this were any other location Marowak could just turn up the heat and save its trainer from the swarm, but here in the school, with all this children, they would need to think of something else and fast, their numbers rising.

Brian and Firebrand would be successful in carving out a path with flames for Aria to make it to the stage, the bug almost suicidally rushing towards Firebrand as if they intended to stop it but even the smallest of embers from the Magmortar were too much for them. Though in the chaos a lone Kriketot managed to affix itself to Brian’s head, clinging to the top and letting out an Uproar to ring his eardrums. While that happened Abby focused on the elderly, getting the Kriketot off of them the best they could, sans fire. The occasional Peck was thankfully enough to ward off the Kricketot and one old lady even stopped to thank Abby with a kiss on the cheek. And what was that? Did she slip a Poffin into her hand? Grandmas, I tell ya what.

With the help of her teammates Aria made it to the stage just fine, only a single Kriketot trying to take a bite at her ankles along the way but likely all it needed was a swift punt to stop it. Once she came upon the stage Aria would have Billy clear her platform with relative ease with a Belch that any person nearby, including Brian and Abby, would not only hear, but also smell. Whatever berry it ate to use that move it stunk. Either way Aria had the stage to herself for the next minute, the Kriketot would certainly return, the Belch having only startled them for the time being. Fortunately she acted quick enough and soon Aria’s song would play over the loudspeakers on the stage and the other speakers dotting the city. The effects of her song were slow, the Kriketot one by one gradually stopping what they were doing to eventually stand still and listen. For a solid minute all the bugs remained motionless and the city went silent. Then, as her song continued, the swarm of Kriketot would all react at once and began to flee the city in a panic, their frightened buzzing nearly drowning out her song as they fled, no longer under the effects of the Shadow Kricketune’s own song and now scared and confused, like Kriketot should be around anything unlike themselves and their habitats. Once it was all done and said and Aria felt it safe to stop she would notice a single Kriketot remained, standing on the ground in front of the stage, staring at her as it knocked its antenna into each other in the same rhythm and beat as her previous song. “Tot tot!” It protested, apparently disappointed that she stopped. It liked her song.

The Snagems helping elsewhere would experience the effects of Aria’s song as well as slowly their own Kriketot enemies began to calm down, stand still for a while, and then flee. Though they did have to deal with them before the song kicked in.

As for the trio consisting of Sub, Deo, and Sol, their plan would go off without a hitch. Upon command Absol would execute its Baton Pass in mid-run, switching places with Sol’s Scorbunny and giving the rabbit not only its momentum but the increased physical prowess it needed to run faster. Scorbunny would find itself in a slightly different location but moving at much greater speeds. With Deo’s confirmation though, the bunny would get to experience true speed like any other it had as it rocketed towards Shadow Kricketune with Flame Charge, the Scorbunny turned into a burning bullet of pain. The Shadow Kricketune might have tried to turn to do something however Sol’s Flamethrower came down from above and the bug leaped back instinctively to avoid it, ruining any chance it had to get away from the Scorbunny as the young rabbit rammed into it with devastating speed and fiery might. The violin playing but would be launched clear off the ground and sent flying through the air violently before it slammed into the side of the GTS building, causing a few people to gasp and shout startled. The Shadow Pokemon itself though would be no threat to them, or anyone else, as it fell to the ground knocked out cold.

“Phew, it worked.” Sub said as he arrived behind Sol, gliding along on his Hoverboard and having since recalled his Absol. Jumping off he approached the Shadow Kricketune. “Stand back, folks. This thing might be knocked out but it has a nasty virus running through it and you certainly don’t want to let your Pokemon get it.” Sub informed the festival goers as a crowd began to gather. “This thing has given us plenty of trouble already. Time to contain it.” The man said as he sat his backpack down and began to fumble around for a Pokeball. That was when he heard the police sirens, the man looking back and around for them and finally meeting eyes with Sol and Deo. “Took them long enough, huh?”

Brian was glad that his tactic with Firebrand was working, though he had to shake his head at how suicidal the Kricketot seemed to be. One would think just the heat of the flames would send them running, but it seemed the Shadow Kricketune's melody obstructed all means of rational thought in its pre-evolved form. He was about to turn and look to see if Aria had made it to the stage when he felt a weight on top of his head, and as he reached up to see what it was, a loud, piercing cry exploded in his ears, making him roar with pain and clap his hands over his ears, his eyes squeezed shut as he tried to block out the noise.

Firebrand, hearing the noise, turned to see what in the world had caused his trainer to yell out like that. Seeing the Kricketot clinging to Brian's head, the Magmortar knew he couldn't use any attacks for fear of hitting his trainer accidentally. So instead, he walked over and smacked the Kricketot on top of the head before picking it up so that it was no longer attached to Brian's head and tossing it to one side. Once the Uproar had finally stopped, Brian opened his eyes and looked up at Firebrand, giving the Fire-type a grateful smile, but kept his hands over his ears.

That was a little too much, and he was afraid everything would be too loud if he removed his hands at the moment. Concentrated as he was on getting the ringing in his ears to stop, he didn't notice a small trickle of blood coming from under his right hand. Due to the close proximity of the Uproar he'd just endured, it was very likely he had a ruptured eardrum.

Absinthe relaxed a bit as the Kricketot swarm ran off, save for a singular Kricketot with bad taste in music. She didn't have much time to relax, however, as she recognized Sub's voice and followed it to the location of the Shadow Kricketune. "Now, we're talking. Blaze Kick that Kricketune!" Abby shouted. Obedient as ever, Angela* charged at the enemy and covered her legs in Fire-type energy before kicking at the shadowified enemy.

Clare would squeal quietly as the Kricketot began to overrun them, taking steps back slowly as Visage tried to reach them for a rescue. The bugs were simply too numerous, however, and they would be overpowered in no time. When Aile showed up, however, they'd let out a sigh of relief when Tatooine's attack scattered the gathering of insane insects. "Thank goodness..." They'd breath out, gloved hand on their chest. It would only take a moment to catch the sound of someone nearby once the bugs scattered, glancing around to find the teenage boy with his injured Buizel. They didn't recognize the Pokemon but they could see an injury without needing to be told it existed when it was this clear. "It looks like your Pokemon needs help." They'd state rather plainly, Let me help you up and we'll get you inside. If these Centers are anything like the medical centers back home, they should have their own power source in case of emergencies like this." They'd announce. While not entirely familiar with these "Pokemon Centers" as the sign outside declared it, they could deduce that they must be medical centers for Pokemon and they had a faint recollection of something similar they'd visited a long time ago having a generator in case the place lost it's external power source.

Helping the boy to his feet and offering to assist with his Pokemon if he needed it, the alien hybrid would lead the way to the front door and attempt to enter, only to find it stuck, clearly powerless. "Oh dear... Um... Oh! Visage, try using Thunder Wave on the door! See if we can't give it enough power to open." The Dreepy would nod as it approached and generated a weak electric current between it's claws, applying it to the door frame and hoping it would work.

"I would have came here post haste!" Deo replied to Sub when he finally caught up to him. After seeing that the containment is going smoothly, he then takes a big yawn as he then replies as he is slightly tired "I'm ready for a nap" he says as he rubs his eyes and yawns midway through the sentence.

Monique never thought she was a bug magnet, but here she was, having broken into a school building and with Kricketot all over her.

This was not fun.

There were too many objects and combustible materials in the way to try using Fire moves here, but these bugs had found a Dark type and evidently found her quite tasty. Leon and Pyroar had also made it to the second floor, and the remaining students were corralled into a corner classroom at one end of the hall, a handful of Kricketot preventing them from sealing the door.

She decided to take one for the team. She dove in front of the bugs and pulled them out of the way, allowing Leon and Pyroar to enter the classroom and start evacuating all the scared children. After a moment in which she got bit several more times pulling them out of the threshold, instead of fire, she decided to have Marowak take the bugs out another way.

"Marowak! Shadow Bone!"
