While it might've only been a brief moment in reality, one might argue that it felt like Aden was lost in thought for weeks. He'd seen as Copycat's attempts at cosplay went to another member, complete with dramatic entrances and Kangaskhan making a distraction with Rock Slide. "Well, nothing says we can't just switch... Wooloo, back to me!" He called as he readied a retreat for Wooloo and took Nidoking's ball in his other hand. In the same motion used for his recall, he'd send out the new Pokemon to weather the Rock Slide instead.

"Nidoking, Earth Power! Keep it close to Kangaskhan and be ready!" Judging by the energy Banette had built up before disappearing, he had an idea of what Copycat was planning. "Tristen, I'm pretty sure Banette's going for Phantom Force! Not sure which of us they'll aim for, though. Or when. Just be ready for it and see if we can't make a dent on Kangaskhan for now."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2021 8:13 am
The many rocks rained down on the Gyarados, making it screech out in pain, rather furiously, not caring for the attack what so ever. Listening to Aden, Tristen had the same idea about Banette, which is going to make fighting that Banette a complete pain. All the two of them could do was to lay a beating onto Kangaskan. Problem is, something was wrong with this picture, Tristen thought. They suddenly shifted in tactics; they were more direct instead of going for mimicry and disorientation like they were before. A Phantom Force attack looming just around the immediate corner also left for a situation where either one of their Pokemon could be in an extreme hurt should Banette have its way. He'd have to agree with Aden for now; there's no choice. They'd have to try to punish the opposing team for leaving Kangaskan on its own for that brief moment of time.

With Nidoking leading the way, this did present an opportunity to Tristen as he looked at the sparkling red Gyarados upon the battlefield. Maybe...just maybe if Gyarados can land the finishing blow... "Gyarados! Use Aqua Tail!" Trisen shouted. "Try to get that Kangaskan while you still can!" As the Earth Power goes off upon the Kangaskan, Gyarados rushed forward into the chaos, slithering itself rather quickly across the field. Its serpent tail started to be cloaked in a watery veil, one that shot out from the Gyarados as if a high-pressure stream of water. With one infuriated roar, the Gyarados goes to slam its tail down upon the Kangaskan.

The Earth Power slammed into Kangaskhan from below, the Pokemon stumbling backwards with a cry before Gyarados swiped at it with an Aqua Tail, sending the Normal type rolling backwards. As the Pokemon stopped its roll it staggered back onto its feet, first checking to make sure its baby was okay before stared and began to growl at its opponents. The two might note that Kangaskhan, nor its trainer, did not try to avoid or defend against the attacks at all and thus took a considerable amount of damage. It was still hanging in there.

"Now, Kangaskhan! Attack Nidoking with Endeavor! Even the playing field!" Green cried out. While her Pokemon was worn and exhausted it summoned forth as much stamina it could muster and rushed straight for Nidoking, fist raised and glowing white as it drew upon all the pain it suffered to empower this attack. It would swing at Nidoking, intending to make it feel every bit of pain it did as it.

At the same moment. "It's time! Return from the great beyond and tether our foe to this earthly plane! Target Nidoking with Phantom Force." The fake Odd ordered. Right after Kangaskhan would connect with its attack Banette would reappear from the world beyond and slash at the opposing Pokemon with a ghostly overly enlarged claw, which might 'hit' Kangaskhan due to proximity but the Normal type would be unaffected, of course this was by design of the pair to ensure neither Pokemon would hurt the other while being so close.

Tristen had a sneaking suspicion that such a stunt was going to be pulled. Unfortunately, Tristen didn't have any means of actually stopping that. Not with Gyarados, at any rate. As the Kangaskan was preoccupied with Nidoking, treating it as the bigger threat for the time being, Tristen knew that he had to make these two regret their hubris for ignoring the large, rampaging serpent. "Gyarados! Crunch attack! Go after the Kangaskan!" Tristen commanded. The serpent roared out slithering across the field as fast as it could, scooping up the Kangaskan in its enormous jaws and ground down on the Pokemon. This Kangaskan had to go.

"Nidoking, brace yourself!" Aden called, knowing there wasn't likely any dodging an attack like that. The best to come to mind was mitigation, but it might be limited when Nidoking had no way of knowing where Banette would attack from. It'd be all too easy for Kangaskhan to find a c***k in his armor thanks to not even knowing she was on the attack, the Endeavor attack slamming into Nidoking and leaving him much too weak to do anything about Banette's follow up, taking him out of the battle in the blink of an eye and leaving Aden looking the fool for not noticing the gang-up sooner.

He stood there somewhat stunned, pretty sure the chances of getting through this battle had just gone down quite a bit. "...nevermind... sorry, Nidoking." Recalling him at once, he reluctantly let Wooloo back out, preferring to delay resorting to Alcremie with the sort of assault that could come her way. He knew he'd be delaying the inevitable regardless, having no other way of attacking Banette at all. "Wooloo, follow up on Gyarados' attack with Double Kick!"

As Wooloo resumed her place in the battle, she'd roll in to try adding in her own attack alongside Gyarados'.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2022 5:38 pm
Kangaskhan would not survive the retaliatory assault, the bulk of the damage of course done by Gyarados and while Wooloo wasn't exactly the strongest creature in this entire battle the Double Kick was just enough to polish off the mother Pokemon thanks to its Super Effectiveness. Again though Green did not seem too pressed as her Pokemon fainted and she recalled it, pocketing it away.

'Odd' simply glanced over, smirking, as he watched Green take out her last Pokeball. The Copycat already knew what that contained.

"Now it's time for the real battle. From day one we were both underestimated, relegate to third place from the start. Today is the day we prove them all wrong. I choose you, Venusaur!" Green cried out as she hurled the ball onto the field, the device popping open to reveal the Seed Pokemon, Venusaur, the Pokemon letting out a defiant cry as it appeared.

"Venusaur has carried me here all the way from Pallet Town twenty years ago, and now is our chance to show the world the fruits of our travels. I thank you both for giving me this opportunity." With that said her Challenger's Band activated and she held out Venusaur's Pokeball, recalling the creature. The ball would then take on an energy based form and grow greatly in size. Now holding onto it with both hands Green would spin around and use the momentum to sling the giant Pokeball into the sky underhanded.

The ball would burst open in midair in a tremendous display of light and from it came Venusaur, the Pokemon growing rapidly to massive size as it slammed down on the field and let out a roar that made its earlier one sound like a purr. Now towering in front of them, a swirling storm of red energy hanging over the battlefield, the pair of Snagems would notice that Venusaur didn't just grow in size, it changed form, it Gigantamaxed.

"Copy, time to go all out." Green said to the fact Odd, who smiled enthusiastically, then quickly changing her outfit again, now appearing as Tristan himself, giving the real one a little wave. "Good, we're on the same page. In that case...Venusaur! G-Max Vine Lash!" The trainer cried out.

The massive Venusaur would conjure up its twin vines, equally gigantic, and while glowing bright with Dynamax energy the Pokemon would unceremoniously slam the mighty vines straight down on both the opposing Pokemon, the force of the impact shacking the entire stadium in spite of it being specifically constructed to withstand such things. Sand from the field was kicked up and a couple of the nearby rocks were either shattered or cracked from the impact. Once it was all over the pair would note that not only did G-Max Venusaur deliver a devastating blow but it left something behind; smaller, more normal sized vines, growing out of the ground all over the field and lashing around wildly. This wasn't good, how long would these things hang around for?

Before the dust could even settle though the Copycat acted, timing their own attack immediately after Venusaur's. "Charge Beam on Gyarados!" The fake Tristan called out, Banette pointing a single finger at Gyarados and firing at it a quick bolt of electricity, taking advantage of its staggered state after such an attack prior. "Dad always said type advantage was important." Imposter Tristan smiled.

It has officially gotten to the point where everything was pear-shaped to Tristen. Tristen was counting on Gyarados claiming the KO on that Pokemon, but some how, it managed to withstand Gyarados's mighty swing...only for the Kangaskan to fall to the Wooloo's follow-up. It was unceramonious, with all considered, but the bigger problem was that now Tristen was without what he was hoping for in that exchange. His Gyarados, Tristen would discover, had the Moxie ability...a potent power which allowed the Gyarados to rampage harder should it start claiming opponents. But unfortunately...that wasn't meant to be. It wasn't Aden's fault: he didn't have any way of knowing. As far as he knew, they both knew that there had to be no way of Kangaskan withstanding such an attack out of Gyarados in the condition it was already in.

To make matters all the worse, barring Copycat now getting under Tristen's skin by trying to impersonate him, there was a Venusaur on the field and soon enough grew to uncanny proportions before the Snagem's and their Pokemon's eyes. Tristen was running dry on the well of ideas. He still had Espeon from earlier, but to run through the entire gauntlet belonging to a duo that has been neutering every attempt at a come back thus far made things severely dire.

Tristen would then find himself unsteady on his feet as the vines tremored the field to encroach and ensnare Gyarados. The vines started to restrict the mighty serpent, allowing the Banette to get a clear shot with its Charge Beam, causing near catastrophic damage to the water serpent. The red Gyarados roared out as the electricity coursed through it; it taking nearly everything it had not to out right fall over and succumb to the attack. "Gyarados!" Tristen tried calling out.

Then the straw that broke the proverbial Camerupt's back. He has been insulted for the last time. Tristen started to bear fangs; if nothing else, he wanted to put this imposter in her place. "That's it." Tristen said. His patience had ran out. "Gyarados! Payback!" He shouted, pointing to the Banette. He knew that Gyarados was bound to be on the way out now due to accumulating all that damage so rapidly; if nothing else the Vine Lash attack was probably going to do the Gyarados in the next moment. He needed to make this serpent count for Espeon to do his thing. The Gyarados flailed about in the entanglement then made the massive rush for the Banette to unleash a mighty retaliatory blow.

Aden being unsteady on his feet would be the least of his worries, as his already weakened Wooloo wouldn't have a chance of getting away from the gargantuan Venusaur or its vines. She'd be crushed in a panicked attempt to escape, taken out on the spot and unable to move after the vines moved back up and away. As he managed to regain his footing, he grimaced and wondered if perhaps he should've swapped Wooloo back in a moment sooner. Nidoking's versatility would've really come in handy now.

But now, he had an Alcremie. An Alcremie that was bound to be whipped and whisked right back into her ball from that Venusaur. He could meet the Gigantamax with what he assumed to be Alcremie's own; that might offer her the bulk and survivability to withstand Venusaur's onslaught. But if he did that, he doubted he could use Decorate to try and add a timely bit of oomph to the attack Tristen called for.

Going off a split second decision, Aden opted for a different approach. One that might capitalize on Espeon's offenses once Gyarados was out, he thought, as he tossed Alcremie's ball into the air and caught her as she fell. Her body alongside his hands would soon give off a telltale glow of psychic energy, rearing back in the process.

"Tristen, dynamax that Espeon of yours as soon as Gyarados goes down! That's our best shot of fighting her Venusaur! In the meantime, Alcremie, let's plant a Sweet Kiss on Venusaur and try buying just a few more seconds!" He'd throw Alcremie as soon as he made the command, hoping the Psychic-infused effort would offer the best chance of getting close enough to Venusaur in the first place. All to give one small, innocent kiss that surely wouldn't cause problems.

(Sweet Kiss accuracy, 75%. If 1-75 it hits.)
PostPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2022 5:28 pm
This was perhaps the point where things went from grim to dark for the pair of Snagems. Alcremie would give G-Max Venusaur its little kiss, the plant Pokemon looking shocked only for a brief second before it swatted Alcremie away with a smaller vine. The Seed Pokemon was unfazed by the Sweet Kiss! (It missed, 'officially'.)

Banette however would have less of a comfortable time as Gyarados slammed into it with such fierce desire for revenge that the Pokemon's entire body disintergrated and left behind nothing but a pair of confused looking eyes which soon returned to 'Xs' before being recalled. It would recover from that attack upon being healed, Ghost Pokemon were weird anyways, but man was that one angry Gyarados.

Quickly changing out of her Tristen costume the Copycat would now take on the form of none other than the Kanto Champion Lance. Taking out a Pokeball 'Lance' smiled. "It's time to show them that mimicry is the ultimate flattery." She said in her own voice, even if she looked like Lance. Tossing the ball on the field the device popped open to reveal a tiny Ditto. The Copycat said nothing but pointed at Gyarados. The Ditto would recognize the pointing and immediately altered its form to become the Imposter of Gyarados. Now folding 'his' arms Lance grew a scowl over his face.

"Aqua Tail on Alcremie." The fake Lance had ordered, a move Tristen had commanded himself earlier. With a fierce roar the Imposter Gyarados would swing its mighty Water engulfed tail at the tiny Alcremie, aiming to delivery a mighty blow upon it.

"Keep it up, Venusaur, Max Ooze! Soak them both!" Green cried out.

With a bellowing moan G-Max Venusaur would unleash huge globs of gooey acid down upon both opposing Pokemon, the globs bursting on impact and creating surging spouts of acid to shoot up straight in the air as they threatened to send their targets sky rocketing and if not that then the acid would rain back down on their side of the field. There was acid all over the place. G-Max Venusaur would absorb any residual acid to empower its Special Attack.

Much as Aden hoped luck would be on his side, he was both out of luck and out of time. Alcremie had no way of moving quickly enough to get off Venusaur before the Ditto-now-Gyarados slapped her off with Aqua Tail and directly into the path of Venusaur's Max Ooze. Very, very few things would have the endurance to weather such a combo, and having a weakness to one of them made those chances far less likely.

Alcremie was not one of those few that could pull such a thing off, taken out instantly from the 1-2 combo before Aden could've tried to get his plan into motion.

"...that's... that's that, then." Aden remarked. He had nothing, recalling the fallen Alcremie and taking a step back. "Looks like I mistimed my plan... make whatever shots you can get with Espeon count."
PostPosted: Mon Jan 24, 2022 5:49 pm
Rock. Meet Bottom. The shiny red Gyarados would end up submitting from the combination of the max Ooze attack on top of the vines which continued to prove to be a massive hinderance. It didn't matter how angry this sea serpent was, there were limits to what he could take and he finally reached it. On top of this, the opposing team was probably paying attention to the battle Aden and Tristen had against the likes of Silver and Ethan. They went after the Alcremie especially with great impunity, leaving any hopes the two of them had all but dashed for the tournament.

Two Pokemon, essentially fresh on the battlefield, versus one Espeon who already took some damage early on. He started to doubt his chances, even using that Dynamax and taking type advantages into consideration. His best chance seems to revolve around downing Venusaur as fast as possible, but the Gyarados is a problem. Even if it wasn't Dynamax'd, Gyarados boasts considerable assault power, and a couple of dark type attacks which the mimic bore witness to. Espeon didn't have any defense against that.

He had to try, either way. "Espeon! Come back out!" Tristen shouted, tossing back out the Espeon. The Espeon was sent out to the field, but then would subseqently be brought back to its ball. Tristen held the ball out, having the Dynamax energy channeled to the ball. It would be the first time that Tristen would do this; the size the Pokeball grew bigger than he'd imagine it would be in his hands. He then tossed it out once more and in a massive flash, the Espeon came out, growing, and growing some more, until it was a colossal Espeon out on the field, howling and radiating Dynamax energy.

"Espeon! Can you use a Psychic attack on the Venusaur!?" Tristen shouted to his gigantic Eevee evolution. The Espeon summoned up Dynamax power, unleashing a mighty psychic-type attack, one that was unfamiliar with, due to his inexperience in the phenomenon. What was supposed to be a Psychic attack was actually a Max Mindstorm which would bombard the gigantic plant Pokemon.

The powerful Max Mindstorm would rock G-Max Venusaur, the Pokemon letting out a pained cry as the psychic waves of energy washed over it and assaulted its mind and body. Once the devastating attack ended the giant looked worse for wear but alas was still standing. Another one of those, or even something at a quarter of that strength, and it would not be standing anymore.

"Venusaur, last shot for our Gigantamax, use G-Max Vine Lash once more!" Green ordered. Opting to do as much damage as possible before they revert to normal, and since they do not have a move Super Effective against Espeon, Venusaur conjured up its huge vines and began to pummel the opposing giant with all its might. It was going to take this cat down or go down swinging, literally.

As for Gyarados it let out a pained roar of its own as the Max Mindstorm rocked its world, though nowhere near as much as it did for its partner, Venusaur. However it wouldn't be able to take another one of those, and if it did it would be by sheer luck. "Hm...time to flatter them some more. Gyarados, Paybuck." The fake Lance said, the disguise betrayed by the slight smirk the Copycat just couldn't hold back as she gave the command.

Just like the real Gyarados did earlier the imposter Gyarados would let out an angry roar before delivering upon the Espeon a revengeful fueled Dark energy empowered blow in the form of Payback. Payback is a...you know the rest.

Comparatively, the Vine Lash wasn't going to be that extensively damaging, more hindering than anything, in Espeon's newfound colossal state. Unfortunately, the Payback from the imposter Gyarados...was a whole other matter. "Espeon!" Tristen would shout. The imitation wasn't flattering. It was humiliating. With no where to run, entangled by the grassy attack, left Espeon wide open to take the full brunt of the Gyarados's attack. The Espeon hit the ground hard; debris and rubble getting kicked up more so from Espeon's newfound size. And to bring this battle straight to a close, the Dynamax energy was forcefully ejected from Espeon and it shrunk back down to its normal size; out cold from the catastrophic damage dealt upon it.

Tristen looked over towards Aden, upset, partly because he felt that he failed his partner in this tournament, partly because he had an opponent get under his skin so thoroughly, making a mockery of those he cared about. Tristen took out the Espeon's Pokeball and recalled the fallen Espeon.

After Espeon fell and reverted to its normal form so did Venusaur, Green wasting no time to recall her Pokemon. The Copycat noted this and did the same, changing out of her costume and back into a normal little girl right after. The giant screen in the stadium would then show both Tristan and Aden's portraits greyed out for awhile before they disappeared and only the faces of Green and The Copycat remained blown up. A voice rung out from the speakers.

"Both Aden and Tristen are out of available Pokemon! Green and The Copycat of Team Kanto win!" The voice boomed throughout the stadium, causing the crowd to grow wild with cheer. There were chants of Green being carried out causing the girl to smile. None for The Copycat but she preferred it that way.

"You both did well. You should be proud to make it this far at such a young age." The older woman told them both as she crossed the field to speak to them. The Copycat was already gone however, from the looks of it she had changed her outfit into a random person and disappeared into the crowd. So many people to copy, so little time.

"I hope my partner didn't get under your skin. She can be grating, I know. However she means no harm and as you saw is an excellent trainer...and mimic...I guess." She smiled and shrugged. "Remember this day, both of you. Keep training, keep battling, and one day I hope to face both of you again. Provided I don't go all the way you can find me in Cerulean. It's where I do most of my training." She winked and with that said she shook both them hands and walked off to prepare for her next battle.

All that was left for Tristen and Aden now were to collect their things and finally go home.
