A few hours after their first battle, with their Pokemon completely healed, the sun indicating they were roughly a few hours from sunset, Tristan and Aden would be called back to the battlefield for the second round of the battle portion of the tournament. Still with the same Pokemon available to them as before (whether or not they have more than three to choose from), thanks in part to the fact that no aid from the Isle of Armor came in the last round, the pair found themselves on a field different from before but still the same stadium.

A desert-like field with plenty of sand, a few cacti, and just three boulders from small to large were spread out across the field. Their next opponents soon appeared in the form of the infamously annoying Copycat of Saffron City and the legendary third wheel from Pallet Town, Green.

Spotting Tristan the Copycat grinned and hid behind an annoyed Green for a moment before jumping back out from behind her looking almost identical to Blizzard. When she spoke she mimicked his voiced perfectly, though the beak was painfully fake when it moved.

"Tristan! Don't hold back! Do your father proud!" A little hammy to say the least, and while the crowd laughed Green did not. Satisfied with her reception she released her first Pokemon, a Dodrio.

"I really wish you could stop that..." Green bemused as she shook her head and turned to face her opponents. "Hit us with everything you got. Show me there are more than two people in this world worthy of being called Pokemon Master." With that said she released her first Pokemon as well, a Nidoqueen.

Once the Snagems released their Pokemon the ref would cry out; "Round 2! Tristan of Mahogany Town and Aden of Agate Village vs Copycat of Saffron City and Green of Pallet Town! Let the battle begin!"

Few hours had passed and another battle was on the way. Tristen and Aden, rather if they realized it or not, managed to overcome what would have been otherwise an insurmountable opponent if the opponents in question managed to work together, better than...well, whatever that was that Silver was doing. That said, it was, admittedly a close call on Tristen's end. He had to at all costs make sure that the battle didn't get beyond Espeon and Dragonite, because he doubted he'd be able to pull anything off with Wimpod. And worse, no aid came to them in that battle. For a battle that seemed to have lasted an eternity against two strong opponents on their own, the battle didn't last THAT long, and thus, the Snagem team, if there were still allies on the Isle of Armor, didn't send any help to the two of them. Tristen was a bit worried about how the next battle would play out.

Squaring off against two new opponents, Tristen wasn't really familiar with who these two were. Green seemed like a relatively normal person...this...other one though. Tristen was taken aback by Copycat's mimicry of his adoptive father. Practically left speechless, honestly. "...that...Aden, I think I am feeling insulted." Tristen said to Aden, with the most stupefied look on his face. Tristen shook his head, reaching for a Pokeball.

Dodrio and Nidoqueen. Tristen thought to send out Espeon, maybe take out Nidoqueen in short order. A realization then hit him, however. The Dodrio. This was a similar setup to how they managed to get the better of Silver and Ethan earlier. He couldn't discount the fact an Earthquake attack might be looming in their future. Let's see if they couldn't minimize the damage. "Dragonite! Go!" Tristen shouted.

The ball lands on the field and out came the mighty dragon, ready for battle. Even leading with Dragonite made Tristen a bit apprehensive. If it was anything like Nidoking, hitting it head on was going to be problematic. "Alright, Dragonite! Hurricane!" Tristen shouted.

The Dragonite kicked off and unleashed a mighty gale upon the opposition.

"Guess things have been rougher on them than I thought," Aden remarked, noting the lack of help from the others on the distant island. It wasn't the sort of setback he was thrilled with, but it was the one they'd been dealt and they'd have to try and make it work. As he went back to the battlefield with Tristen, he took notice of the different field and felt he could find something to take advantage of.

His train of thought would shatter in an instant when he saw the Copycat, and as he looked at Tristen, he didn't have the heart to tell him that fake beak aside, she was eerily spot on with what Blizz might've said if he and Tristen were about to fight. He'd be able to recompose himself once her Dodrio and Green's Nidoqueen had taken to the field; Nidoking probably wasn't going to be the best choice here, and maybe even a bit predictable if they had a chance to watch the previous fight in any fashion.

But the Copycat's mimicry gave him an idea, if a bit of a gamble aside from using something that had little business fighting far more experienced Pokemon. "Alright, Wooloo, get ready!" He called at once, taking a ball from his vest and tossing it out. "Give them a bit of double trouble! Copycat!"

Wooloo wasn't quite sure how to really copy what Tristen's Dragonite was doing, but the wind energy that was built up would find a use as she began to bound and bounce around. Somehow, in a move that surprised her and Aden alike, the expulsion of energy would be enough to start bolstering the Hurricane already being unleashed, attempting to double its efforts in the process.

Upon hearing the commands Green quickly asset the situation and called out to the Copycat. "Get ready to show them who the real Copycat is." She said to motivate her partner before issuing a command to her Pokemon. "Nidoqueen, meet them with Blizzard!" The trainer from Pallet Town called out.

With a defiant roar Nidoqueen would stomp each foot on the ground once as she braced herself, a large amount of energy surging from deep within her, before unleashing a massive gale of icy wind from her open mouth, the frigid winds empowered by Sheer Force.

Hearing Green's voice the Copycat's annoyance for Aden and Wooloo's attempt to rip her off was broken and the girl quickly her changed her outfit, so fast that it was near impossible to see it happen. Now posing as Amaranth she called out to Aden and then her Pokemon. "Come on, Aden, Sol taught you better than this. Swift, use Mirror Move! Copy Dragonite!" The Copycat ordered.

With a trio of chirps the Dodrio, somehow knowing the command was for it despite being called 'Swift', would each begin to rotate their heads and necks around and around in sync with each other until their heads became a blur and spun around like a helicopter's blades, a furiously Hurricane generated by them.

The Blizzard and Hurricane would combine together to make a slightly less frigid gale but still power force as the currents of wind from each side met each other with a fierce clash as the opposing fronts met and fought for supremacy over the other. The Team Kanto side appeared to be winning out if only from the Ice energies mixed within theirs but before they could overtake the Snagem side the forces reached a critical point and briefly formed an unstable twister which quickly collapsed on its self and sent a powerful force of frosty wind exploding outward in all directions, consuming the entire field, sending sand from the field flying all over the place with it. A sandstorm has consumed the field.

Both Dodrio and Nidoqueen were swept off their feet by this devastating wind, though the sandstorm didn't bother Nidoqueen in the least.

The multitude of windstorms getting conjured upon the field, Dragonite, after unleashing his attack ended up having to brace itself, but then remembered Wooloo, who didn't exactly have Dragonite's size or weight, let alone the fortitude compared to any other Pokemon on the field. Dragonite braved the storm to help Wooloo stand its ground. With a Blizzard attack mixed in, Dragonite started to feel it stinging, his lustrous scales padding the attack, but giving way to the icy onslaught.

Tristen in the meantime had to brace himself as well, shielding his face from the oncoming sand that got kicked up. "Did...they? They literally did the same thing we did to Ethan and Silver last battle!" Tristen shouted. Both he and Aden needed to get this battle under control. And it seemed that it was going to be easier said than done with the two opponents sending their own strength against them.

Seeing the copycat imitate Amaranth isn't probably helping either. "...how originally unoriginal." Tristen would say, knowing that was probably get to Aden more than him in this particular instance. "Any ideas?"

Wooloo wouldn't be able to defend herself from the cross winds forcing the whole thing to expel itself everywhere, blowing her back and tumbling a bit before stopping a couple of seconds later. The sandstorm that followed didn't help matters, causing a fair bit of discomfort and cutting visibility.

"I-" Aden wanted to say something at the Copycat's antics, but closed his mouth a moment later when he felt it wasn't important to the battle and didn't want to end up with sand in his mouth. So instead, he looked to Tristen. "I mean, there is that TV in the room leading up to the pitch... it's kinda on us for not watching any recaps. But that doesn't explain the rest. Whatever we do, she's liable to copy if it isn't from someone else."

"Anyways, think you can shut down that Nidoqueen with a slight push? Even with Dodrio possibly copying us, they're still a Dodrio. It's only going to be as good as they are, even with the risk I'm about to put on us... Wooloo, Guard Split with Green's Nidoqueen!"

He had a couple of reasons for the move choice, even knowing it full well could be copied a moment later. The first was to mess with Nidoqueen's defenses and soften her up that way, with Wooloo managing some sort of weird psychic shenanigans to do so. The other, by proxy, would be to bolster Wooloo's defenses a bit and give more of an edge and survive a bit longer.

A Guard Split? A Wooloo can do that!? This got a lot of astonishment out of Tristen, something he was for sure to look into later. However, this just only told Tristen one thing. That fear of what was to come out of Nidoqueen? Forget it. Just go in. "Dragonite! Follow up after Wooloo! Dragon Claw!" Tristen shouted. A 'slight push' Aden would ask for? How about a massive draconian swipe instead?
PostPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:50 pm
Not only was Tristan taken aback by Aden's command and that Wooloo was capable of such a thing, Green's own expression in response to the command would confirm that as she watched her Nidoqueen become slightly less bulky. Watching as Dragonite came in for the attack she called out to the Copycat and then her Pokemon. "Keep up the mimicry. Nidoqueen, use Counter!"

With a snort the Drill Pokemon braced its self for Dragonite's attack. As the dragon bore down on it the lady Nido would let out a pained roar before summoning forth the required strength to grab a hold of Dragonite, turn its momentum against it, and spiked the dragon onto the ground.

In that same moment, knowing best to just do exactly what Green said, the Copycat gave her own command. "Mirror Move on Dragonite again, Swift!" So ordered, again in Amaranth's voice, not changing this time. At the time Dragonite was thrown to the ground Dodrio came rushing in to swipe away at it with its dragon energy infused talons, the triple headed bird looking as if it were dancing on the Dragonite. Nidoqueen however looked worse for wear already, splitting defenses with something like Wooloo really left it vulnerable.

Dragonite continued to bear down upon the Nidoqueen, its draconian-power lit claws digging deep as it tried to overbear on its opponent. However, much to Tristen's, let alone Dragonite's disdain, Nidoqueen's loss of defensive prowess was going to be her gain in a rather unfortunate way. Before Dragonite knew it, it found itself head over heels, slamming into the ground with grand impact. The damage was nothing shy of catastrophic. "Dragonite! No!" Tristen shouted. If that wasn't bad enough, with Multiscale out the window from the initial clash, the copied Dragon Claw attack, courtesy of the Dodrio would tear into Dragonite unimpeded. Not even Dragonite would be able to withstand such a devastating assault as that. The dragon was out for the count.

Tristen recalled the fallen dragon, a bit distraught now how Dragonite was put by the wayside in such a fashion. This left him with Espeon once again to hopefully stand its ground for the remainder of the battle. Nidoqueen could probably be taken out in the next attack volley, but Dodrio barely had anything done to it in the grand scheme of things and anything that he or Aden commands to their respective Pokemon, the same will be done to them. And worse, Tristen wasn't entirely sure how much the Copycat would delve into copying their attacks, strategies, and so on. Much of their strength their opponents are using against them, but at the same time, it wasn't like they couldn't just not fight, could they?

"Espeon, go!" Tristen would call out. The Manetric hybrid would toss the ball upon the field and out came the sleek cat-like psychic Pokemon, out for battle. Tristen once again drew what knowledge he had in trying to learn about Espeon and the other Eevee evolutions. Tristen didn't want to call out for Stored Power again. Espeon didn't have any other support going for him like he did with Alcremie earlier in the day. Tristen then recalled something in his studies...something...that might come in handy. First things first, Nidoqueen has got to go. "Aden, I...might have an idea. I'll try to finish off Nidoqueen, you think Wooloo got something to mess up Dodrio in some way?" Tristen would ask, once again trying to invoke the teamwork that worked so well for them thus far. "Espeon! Psychic!" Even if either one of them copies the attack in some fashion, neither one would be able to cause any extensive damage to Espeon and probably didn't have the specialized assault power to try to do any extensive damage to Wooloo. It was a risk he was willing to take.

"EOOO!" The Espeon rushed forward, focusing and then unleashed a powerful telekinetic blast of power upon the Nidoqueen.

"...crap. I was thinking she might've gone for copying the Guard Swap..." Aden remarked, though he had to admit countering the attack and then mimicking it was a good play... though why did it have to come from someone mimicking everyone he and Tristen knew? Wooloo's means of disrupting or dealing damage was limited, but one thing came to mind through the limitations. "Anyways, think I've got something. Wooloo, Headbutt that wannabe Swift!"

Between disruption and damage, why not try for both? Wooloo would roll at Dodrio with a bit of force behind her efforts, moving to ram into the fake Swift from the even faker "Amaranth." Potential flinching aside, it'd also be at least a little less useful to copy. Countering it... well, Aden didn't want to think about that one, and he'd have to respect that regardless. But being too fearful wasn't something to be afforded.

Nidoqueen was blasted by the powerful Psychic, the mental blast of psychic energy knocking the Poison type clean off its feet and dispatching it unceremoniously onto the ground, the fallen queen knocked out cold resoundingly. No kill like overkill.

Next came Wooloo who rolled right up and Headbutted the Dodrio claiming to be Swift. With a triple shriek of pain the bird skipped backwards to regain some space between Wooloo and its self while it awaited its trainer's orders.

Recalling her Pokemon Green turned to face the Copycat, fishing another Pokeball out at the same time. "Get aggressive and keep that Wooloo occupied." She ordered the Copycat before tossing a Safari Ball into the air above the field, giving a command to the Pokemon inside just as it was opening. "Retaliate on Espeon!" The trainer from Pallet Town cried out. With a cry of its own a Kangaskhan would appear from the ball falling down towards Earth just above Espeon, the Pokemon moving quickly as it came down and slashed at Espeon with claws extended by and glowing with Normal energy, empowered by its motive to avenge its fallen comrade. As the Pokemon landed and spun around to face the the cat the baby in its pouch let out a happy squeal.

At the same moment the Copycat would know just what Green had in mind for 'aggressive' as she rapidly changed her appearance again, this time transforming herself back to a blue feathered humanoid form, however this one more feminine. "Go! Let out your Frustration on that walking hair ball!" The fake Freth ordered, the Copycat's demeanor changing to match that of Freth's. A specific head of the Dodrio, the one that clearly represented anger, let out a savage shriek before the other two joined in as they rushed Wooloo and savagely began to claw and peck away at the sheep.

Tristen went wide eyed as soon as the new Pokemon, the Kangaskan, came out for battle, and worse still, lead off with perhaps one of the worst attacks it could. A Retaliate which practically slammed Espeon right into the dirt with such fury. Worse still, Aden had his hands full with the Dodrio. As much as Tristen didn't want to admit it, he and his team mate's backs were against the wall...all the while being humiliated at the very least by someone who was grossly exaggerated mimicking each of their close friends or family.

A sign of hope came to them when the Rotom finally appeared to the two, addressing Tristen. Someone in the Isle of Armor was giving Tristen relief. Tristen was put on the spot just then, quickly trying to think as to who to get. Anything would be better right at the moment than Wimpod right now by a far margin. Tristen then had an idea and quickly withdrew a Pokemon...believe it or not, for immediate use. Perhaps he could catch these two off guard. Tristen faced back towards the field. "Espeon! Come back! Use Baton Pass!" Tristen shouted.

Against power houses like these, this would be a race that Espeon probably wouldn't be able to win against. However, the Dodrio was starting to seem like a weak link, thanks to Aden's efforts. It was time to capitalize. The Espeon howled out and in a flash, it recalled itself back to the Pokeball. While it didn't have any power gained from...well anything...it was a non-issue with what Tristen had in mind.

"GO!" Tristen shouted, tossing his newly withdrawn ball from the Rotom. A flash of light and upon the field, a gigantic serpent with glistening red scales roared out as it appeared upon the field. Tristen sent out Gyarados...the same one he captured in the Lake of Rage. Tristen had to admit this was a bit of a risk, but considering everything else going on, he nor Tristen got nothing else to lose. Gyarados could take a bit more punishment more than the likes of Espeon and had a great deal of assault power to boot. Its what both Tristen and Aden needed right at the moment. The towering red serpent coiled up its tail, standing erect, stared down the Dodrio and Kangaskan and roared out as if to yell 'bring it'.

Speaking of hands full, Wooloo's whole self was full practically trying to sink into her own wool to defend. Her fluffy wool was able to help her weather the Frustration alongside the bolstered defenses from Guard Swap, though Aden couldn't help himself zoning out a little. His mind went to other matters for a moment, and when Tristen retrieved and switched to a shiny Gyarados, he could swear the imagery flashed to something entirely different.

Taken aback and backing up a step, he'd shake his head and confirm what he was seeing wasn't anything more than a red Gyarados. The destruction would be from a Gyarados. "Finish the battles, worry later," he told himself under his breath, hoping Tristen wouldn't hear him.

"Wooloo, keep going for the Copycat tactics!" He spoke up, figuring a bit of Frustration on Wooloo's end might be effective. To her credit, she'd give the angriest bleat she could muster before finally springing at the Dodrio once an opening presented itself.

Dodrio was pummeled by the angry little puff ball that was Wooloo, the three headed bird unable to put up a decent fight in response and thus was knocked out, each head hitting the ground one at a time, falling at the feet of the walking cotton ball. 'Freth' would scowl as her Dodrio was defeated and immediately recalled the Pokemon.

"Better pick something a little stronger, Copycat." Green warned her comrade as she stared at the red Gyarados towering before them.

'Freth' would nod before a flurry of blue feathers exploded outward from around here and once they settled the false Articuno hybrid was gone and in her place was a very convincing Odd impersonation. "From the depths of the underworld will rise the soul of vengeance! Banette! Come!" The fake Odd cried out as he tossed another Pokeball onto the field, the device popping open to release a Banette.

"I'll occupy them. Just get Banette in position and ready to strike after I make an opening. Kangaskhan, use Rock Slide!" Green ordered.

With a roar Kangaskhan would rush up to the largest of the three boulders on the desert field and with a swipe of its mighty tail, now glowing with Rock energy, the parent Pokemon would shatter the boulder effortlessly and send the resulting chunks and fragments flying violently at Gyarados and Wooloo.

"You heard her, Banette. To the void between worlds for you!" The fake Odd declared, Banette chuckling as it rapidly faded away from sight. Where it went was anyone's guess.
