Wren wouldn't have much chance to react to the falling Wailord thanks to the Mamoswine's mad rush toward them. Knowing there was no chance of escaping both attacks. He would, instead, give Nutmeg one final attack command to execute before recalling her. "Trop Kick on that Wailord!"Nutmeg would nod as she attempted to evade Mamoswine and, after a moment to find an opening, she'd leap into air and perform a rather graceful flip before slamming her grass energy-infused foot into Wailord's underside. Unfortunately, this left her open to being completely savaged by Mamoswine before Wailord landed on them both. Grimacing, Wren recalled the fainted Tsareena and took a moment to think on which Pokemon he still had. Only Hyacinth and Manna at this point. Hyacinth was simply out of the question at this point with her typing. She'd be bait for that Lucario and wouldn't be around long enough to actually support Ryan's Pokemon.

So Manna was the next out. As the tiny Applin materialized from her Ball, Wren dug into his bag and pulled out an apple. "Small as you are... What can you do to help us win this?" He asked himself, thinking on the Applin's skills as he sunk his teeth into the flesh of the crimson fruit. For a moment, the chewing calmed his nerves but the flavor hit his tongue at the end of that moment and he quickly spit it back out."Ugh... Sour... I thought I got rid of all these back at the ruins?" He asked himself as he dropped the incredibly tart apple on the ground and kicked it aside while digging into his bag for something else to eat while he calmed himself.

Manna, however, would smell that apple from the battlefield and in a flash, she had leapt from the one she originally inhabited to the Tart Apple Wren had dropped, boring her way into it's core with gusto. As she ate, she, and the apple in turn, began to glow bright white. After only a moment, the glowing apple would split open and Wren would be met with the form of what appeared to be some form of "fruit bat" from his angle, another, sweeter apple held between his teeth as he froze in place, digging out his SNAG without even looking and giving it a scan to discover Manna had evolved into a Flapple.

It also appeared she had learned a new move or two in the process. "Manna... use Seed Bomb on Wailord." He requested of the Apple Wing Pokemon as he removed the fruit in his mouth, watching her fly up to where she could attack properly and sending an explosive bundle of Grass energy raining down upon the massive blimp whale.

Undine would get caught in the collateral damage of the Wailord but didn't look too bad off, but taking anymore glancing blows like that would probably be best avoided if possible. But Ryan had other worries, like that Lucario. That was the bigger threat in his vision.

"Undine! Moonblast that Lucario!" Ryan calls out. Undine would raise her voice to the heavens in a beautiful song that would eventually bring down a massive blast of fairy energy upon the Lucario.

Wailord would moan and groan as it was kicked and then pelleted with an explosive seed, the whale unable to do much to avoid anything due to its sheer size, weight, and being out of water. Good thing it could breath out of water. "Oh dear this is exciting! Wailord, use Blizzard!" Cheryl ordered. She knew her massive Pokemon couldn't do much physically anymore, outside of what it pulled off earlier, so instead it would have to remain stationary and rely on far reaching projectile moves and Blizzard was exactly one of them. Taking a humongous breath the whale would unleash a Blizzard unlike what most Ice types could pull off, simply because the sheer size of the source it was coming from, the gigantic cavern of a mouth that was sending forth a gale of chilling wind sweeping over the entire field in front of them, targeting both Flapple and Primarina.

As for Riley, he was as unflinching as ever once he heard the Moonblast command. They could avoid it easily enough but with the Blizzard blowing he had a better idea to take this fairy out right now. "Meteor Mash." He ordered. With a nod the Lucario would kick off the ground with an explosion of Steel energy and fling its self into the Blizzard, aimed directly at the incoming Moonblast. With steel empowered fist raised it smashed through the Moonblast, taking plenty of damage though its steel nature cushioning the blow and its Inner Focus guaranteeing it would not be deterred in anyway from reaching its target as the Blizzard carried it, Lucario coming down on Undine in the blink of an eye with a powerful downward punch like a meteor falling from the heavens.

Wren was momentarily unprepared for what came next but he had seen what Sub had showed off out in the Wild Area on the first day and, thanks to the Wishing Star he'd been granted in order to make it this far, he decided now or never and followed Sub's lead from that fateful day. Calling Manna back to her ball before Wailord's attack could be executed, he could feeling the energy of the Wishing Star infusing the Nest Ball in hand and, by extention, the Pokemon inside. As the crimson energy engulfed the ball, it reacted by rapidly expanding far beyond the typical Pokeball size, requiring two hands to hurl it back into the field.

When the ball opened once more, Manna was no longer the small apple-bat-dragon creature but rather, a gargantuan wyrm dwelling in a massive apple overflowing with what appeared to be sticky nectar. "That's not what Sub did... Is it?" He asked himself. Hans hadn't changed appearance so drastically that he could recall but that didn't matter at this point. Wailord's Blizzard buffetted the massive apple dragon, though she managed to weather it in her Max'd state, however barely. Scanning her once more with his SNAG, he found a new list of moves she could use. "Manna, use Max Airstream on Lucario!"

The massive wyrm would open her mouth and a violent tornado of winds would erupt as she exhaled, intending to disrupt the blowing Blizzard as well as aiming to pin down Lucario in one move. The unexpected side effect was the infusing of speed into both Manna and Undine. Perhaps that would allow the Soloist Pokemon the needed mobility to escape a fatal blow?

That Meteor Mash hurt badly, and Undine was looking rather rough, but she was still standing. Ryan knew she probably had only one more attack left in her. and at this point, he had to trust in Wren and Flapple that they had managed to take out the Lucario. That Wailord needed some major damage thrown its way. And he had just the move in mind.

During the downtime before this round started, Ryan had gone out into Motostoke and did some shopping, finding something perfect to help give Undine a bit more versatility in her arsenal. Seems like it was ready to pay off now.

" Undine! Energy Ball on that Wailrod!" Ryan calls out to his Primarina. Undine raises onto her tail and forms the ball of energy between her flippers before launching the attack at the Wailord.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 06, 2021 6:11 pm
The Max Airstream certainly served its purpose, the Blizzard's effectiveness diminished thus sparring Manna and also sweeping Lucario off its feet and sending it flying violently backwards all the way into the far wall of the arena where the canine would slam into the air and fall to the ground shortly after with a thud.

Next came Undine, moving with surprising speed thanks to the Max Airstream though it wasn't like Wailord was a species that had good reaction time anyways. The Energy Ball would slam into the behemoth causing it to moan out in pain. The super effective move hurt, a lot, but it had plenty of HP to weather the blow. Though a few more of those and it would be a different story.

"Lucario, can you still fight?" Riley asked, watching as his Pokemon stagger back onto its feet. Despite having just recently got into the battle it was already looking worse for wear and this was his last Pokemon. The next move had to count and preferably something to help his partner pull them across the finish line. "Give it your all, Steel Beam on Flapple." Riley ordered.

With a fierce shout Lucario would erupt with a surge of steel energy flowing around it. The Pokemon would then draw back its open palms and gather the immense amount of energy between them and shortly after flung them forward to unleash a massive beam of pure steel energy directly at Manna. The logic was simple; take out the Dynamax ASAP. Steel Beam wouldn't but it would do as much damage as Lucario possibly could by its own attack, thus knocking Riley out of this battle.

"Oh dear, it's just us..." Cheryl bemused as she turned to her Wailord. "Stand strong, Wailord! Avalanche on Flapple!" Cheryl ordered. Firing off an Ice Beam at the ground in front of it to create an icy path Wailord would then slam its tail fin on the ground to send its self sliding over the ice, picking up speed rapidly as an icy coating of energy appeared around it, the whale harnessing the pain it had suffered prior to empower its attack as it rammed head first into the giant apple worm.

Ryan was not liking the odds here. I would soon likely be down to him and Cheryl, and with not knowing what her third pokemon would be, he had to press the advantage now.

"Don't let up, Undine. Reach down even further and really let this next Energy Ball go!" Ryan orders. Undine nods and forms the Energy Ball once more as she stands on her tail. This time she would spike it into the side of the Wailord akin to a Volleyball player smashing home a thunderous strike.

Wren would have only a moment or two to react to the orders from their opponents before it was simply over for him. He knew this was his last chance to even the odds for Ryan and he wasn't going to waste it if he could help it. With a quick glance at his SNAG, he spotted an attack on Manna's move list that he wasn't sure would be helpful but there was no time to consider it. "Manna, use G-max Tartness!" He'd call out to his partner.

Manna would respond by dunking her head into her apple shell, sloshing sticky, sour nectar all over the battlefield as she did. It didn't seem like an especially damaging move until he considered the height that liquid was falling from. It would crash like a tidal wave into the arena floor and wash over everything in sight. Despite Lucario's Steel Beam cutting through it as it came down and slamming right into Manna's chest, it seemed to have been enough to knock the Anubian Pokemon out of commission. That Wailord wasn't going to be stopped, however. The whale-shaped missile was far too fast at this point to be stopped by just anything. The attack most likely hurt it but it barreled through anyway and slammed right into Manna with it's icy fuselage causing an explosion of crimson light and smoke as the Dynamax energy within Manna's body was forcibly expelled. Shrinking and returning to her normal form, the Apple Core Pokemon would lay on the arena floor, unconscious after the attack.

Turning to Ryan, Wren would cheer for him. "You've got this!" He encouraged, knowing that Ryan had one more Pokemon that could be sent in. If that last attack worked, then he would be fighting an even(ish) battle for victory against Cheryl's last.

As the plethora of tart liquid-y apple based acid rained down upon Wailord the giant would let out a pained moan, wiggling and writhing in agony but soon finding that the liquid was also very sticky and thus it was difficult to move, not that a whale this size could move well out of water anyways. The Gigantamax move did considerable damage but alas the Wailord was still standing, not too shocking to those who know exactly how difficult it was to fell a Wailord, what with its seemingly limitless amounts of HP. But alas Undine would find it to be easy pickings now as the Energy Ball struck and finished it off, the whale letting out one last moan but it passed out, Cheryl recalling the Pokemon immediately after the Energy Ball hit.

"Thank you, Wailord. You did very good." She said before stashing the ball away. Looking at Undine she appeared to consider her choices before taking out a Great Ball and tossing it onto the field, the device popping open to release a Drifblim. "The two of you have been a great team in this battle! I wish I could have helped my own partner as well as you two have helped each other." She said, looking at Riley with regret. "Now then...this next part but come off as unseemly and goes against my own way of doing things but I have to try my best to win on behalf of my team." She reassured herself.

Looking to Drifblim she held its ball up and informed Ryan first on what she meant. "Our side can still Dynamax." She said before the ball recalled the Drifblim with a beam of energy, the device then growing in size as it became pure energy. Acting as if the ball become heavier Cheryl would turn around and use both hands to underhanded throw the giant Pokeball into the air, the device bursting open in the sky with a dazzling display of light to release the ever growing Drifblim again.

Now looking like the world's biggest hot air balloon as it hovered over the entire stadium Drifblim would let out a giant's cry as it stared down the tiny Undine and awaited orders. "I'm sorry but the winds will begin to favor us now. Drifblim, use Max Airstream!" Cheryl cried out.

With a cry Drifblim would turn over in the air and point its bottom opening at Undine, like the part where her blow up a balloon. Drifblim would then swell with Dynamax energy, becoming even bigger before unleashing an incredible gale upon Undine, the balloon Pokemon returning back to its original Dynamaxed size as it unleash the hurricane force winds upon the Primarina. Even though the crowd was protected by carefully a maintained Protect dome they struggled against the wind that got through, hats and other items blowing away in the wind. Once it was all over and done with an air current remained blowing at Drifblim's back, now giving it a lot more mobility in spite of its giant size. A giant that can still move quickly is bad news.

Ryan sighs as recalls Undine, how had no shot of surviving that Max-attack. Ryan then takes a deep breath and calls out his last pokemon, Orth, his Kingdra. Thanks to the field, Orth had to attach himself to Ryan. "Don't think you've won this just because of Dynamax. I'm gonna show you a power that's going to help me overcome it and gain me this victory!" Ryan shouts as he slides his Z-ring into view, equipped with his Waterium-Z, which he activates. "I call forth the raging storm, the roaring seas! lend forth your power and help us unleash our fury! Z-Rain Dance!" Ryan shouts and the power sugres and flows between him and Orth allowing him to use Rain Dance is such away that it not only called forth the rains it usually does, but also speed up Orth to regain the speed lost by Max Airstream. Ryan was not out of this, And he was already planning out his next moves. Cheryl better down his dragon immediately, or he would turn this around.

"Oh, I know dear. But I do intend on finishing this as quick as possible." Cheryl said as she watched the rain fall and noted that the two Pokemon now each had a speed increase, that ruined her plan slightly. "Drifblim, use Max Strike!" Cheryl ordered.

With a bellow a large fissure would rip across the ground beneath Orth and Ryan, an Abra appearing to teleport Ryan away but leaving Orth as a geyser of Normal energy shot out of the ground and slammed into Orth from beneath, lowering its Speed back down. Once it was over Ryan was allowed to return to his Pokemon's side as the Abra teleported him back. Looks like the speed game changed again.

Wren would stand by in his place by the edge of the battlefield and watch, silently cheering for Ryan as he waited to see how this turned out. He'd never experienced a battle like this and the adrenaline was pumping through his veins in a way unlike that of his anxiety. This was actually exciting!

But unlike her, the switch in speed was irrelevant to Ryan. It was the rain that was key. And if that remained, she was done for. "Orth. Focus Energy," Ryan says to his Kingdra as he returns to his side and having him latched onto him. Orth takes a massive deep breath and then slowly exhales. His eyes take on a slight amber glow. He was now ready to unleash everything at Drifblim.

"Hm, this isn't good, dear. Time to make use a moving target; Max Airstream again!" Cheryl ordered. With another bellow once more Drifblim would let out a powerful hurricane force gust of wind at Orth, the Pokemon immediately deflating all the way back to its normal non-Dynamax size as it used its third and final Max move. That said Ryan would notice the air currents in the sky were absolutely wild and now the much smaller Drifblim was riding them, flying around like a Hoppip caught in a tornado. Needless to say it was moving very fast and very high up.

This was it. The rain was still there. And this was now or never. "Orth. Take your time to aim and then unleash your Hydro Pump. Blast it out of the sky!" Ryan orders. Orth watches the movements and patterns of the Drifblim, and with his Sniper ability kicking in, Orth would time his attack and then fire off his mighty water jet to hopefully catch the Drifblim in it.
