As the uniformed Snagems took to the field the crowd would go wild for them with chants of 'Snagem'. It would appear their opponents had arrived first, Silver and Ethan of Team Johto. The field they found themselves on was a grassy plain, the blades of grass chest high to the boys.

"Hey guys! Isn't it cool to have made it this far!?" Ethan excitedly declared, the kid seemed to be having the time of his life.

"Shut up. This is a battle and they are our opponents." Silver protested, glaring at Ethan briefly before tossing out a Pokeball and releasing his Crobat.

"Gee, you don't have to be so mean..." Ethan said, dejected, tossing out a ball of his own and releasing Ambipom.

"If both sides are ready...let the battle begin!" The ref on the side declared with a wave of his flag. (Declare your first attacks.)

Being squared off from the duo from Jhoto, Tristen started to realize something. One of the trainers... "Aden, that guy with the red hair...I think that's the one Freth complained about a lot. That's the one that managed to knock Freth out of the tournament temporarily before she had to go rescue Blizz." The most he remembered being told about him was how rude he was in the grand scheme of things, both to his own Pokemon and to Freth, and that Freth was in a total disadvantage, in both Pokemon match-ups and their fighting prowess. Hitmonchan and a exhausted Cufant could only do so much against that.

Tristen had not the slightest who this other person was, however. Their Pokemon, rather formidable it seemed. The red-head sent out a Crobat; no wonder Freth had a hard time. Tristen wasn't all too sure what Aden still had in his party. He remembered a Wooloo that Aden managed to get a hold of, and he does remember a mention about a Bronzong, but that's about the extent of it. Tristen might have to pull out his biggest gun after all, it seems. "Dragonite!" Tristen shouted, sending the ball out onto the field.

The ball bursts open and out comes the mighty dragon with a roar, ready for battle. "I don't know about you Aden, but we might need to do everything we can to beat these guys. They might be tougher than they let on." Tristen would face the field and make his attack call. He needs to give Aden at least an opening. Disorient, keep them off balance. Keep them uncoordinated. "Dragonite! Hurricane!" Tristen commanded. The Dragonite kicked off the grass and flew up, unleashing a mighty Hurricane attack upon the field.

As Aden joined Tristen on the field, he couldn't help feeling just a bit awkward seeing Ethan of all people as an opponent. "Sometimes I forget just how small a world we're in," he replied, chuckling a little to ease the awkward feelings. "Gonna be a shame two of us aren't going much further today." He couldn't say Silver was quite as familiar to him, but Tristen's remark gave him enough to go on. Neither of them were going to be ones to trifle with, but out of anyone to be battling alongside, Tristen might've been one of the best bets.

Giving a nod, he already had an idea of who to send out first. "Might be a good thing I withdrew an all-rounder last night, then. Alright, Nidoking, let's go!" He called, tossing the ball he'd taken out mid-sentence. "Join that Hurricane with a Blizzard!"

Ice energy welled up alongside the command, Nidoking expelling it a moment later in a harsh, chilling storm that'd find its way into the Hurricane from Tristen's Dragonite to kick things off with as much of a large, icy assault as possible.

"Quick, Fake Out on Nidoking!" Ethan called out to his Pokemon. Using its two hand-like tails the Ambipom woud spring off the ground, hurling its self right at Aden's Nidoking, the monkey standing in front of the Drill Pokemon before it could even begin its attack the Long Tail Pokemon slapped it on either side of its face with both tails, clapping its head and stunning it.

Unfortunately there was nothing either Ambipom or Crobat could do to stop the Hurricane conjured up by Dragonite, Ambipom swept off the ground and send back to its trainer's side, Crobat sent tumbling and flying higher into the air.

Silver looked up at his bat with a scowl before turning his attention back to their opponents. "Toxic on that dope of a dragon." Silver insultingly ordered. Looks like he didn't care for Dragonite, or maybe dragons in general. Bad experience with them maybe? Who knows.

Promptly righting its self in midair upon hearing the command the Crobat would let out a screech before it dived bomb towards Dragonite, making a sharp u-turn back up into the sky just short of crashing into the dragon, unleashing a quick glob of potent toxins at the dragon's face.

Dragonite started to soar back, trying to maintain distance from the Crobat, but unfortunately, Dragonite could only outmaneuver for so long. The toxic attack lands its mark, the Dragonite roared out. "Oh no..." Tristen couldn't help but to speak up. Dragonite was now on a relatively short clock; he couldn't afford to lose Dragonite all that quickly. He needed to give himself and Aden the edge in this battle. Considering what Freth told him of Silver, an idea came over Tristen. The Crobat and Magneton that managed to cripple and outright kick out Freth from the tournament. If he still had that Mangeton, then that could open up a lot of doors of opportunity. Though this is based on a lot of assumptions on what Silver potentially have done over the span of perhaps the last eighteen hours.

"Hang in there, Dragonite! Strike back on that Crobat!" He commanded. "Use Dragon Tail!"

With a sickly, yet agitated glare of Dragonite's own towards the Crobat. The Dragonite kicked off and rushed off for the Crobat, swinging its own tail around to smash into the bat. He was going to try to bench this bat. He'd still have to worry about the Crobat later, admittedly, but as for right now, Tristen was trying to work a lead for him and his partner.

The chilling storm would be put on hold, barely managing to chill the air instead when Ambipom caught him off guard. The one-two smack of its tails left him dazed for a moment, shaking his head to try and recover as the Hurricane kept it and Crobat at bay long enough to regain his senses. Unfortunately, it was still too slow to do anything about the Toxic that came next. But when he heard Tristen's command, a different idea formed instead of reattempting Blizzard.

"If that lands... Nidoking, ready an Earthquake! Even if what comes next is another flier, it might be low enough to still land a hit!"

Unlike Blizzard, this attack would come a bit quicker. Less energy to build up, and all Nidoking had to do was jump and slam the ground to get it going. Hopefully. Aden wasn't sure what else that Ambipom had up its sleeve. Or Silver's Pokemon, for that matter.

The Dragon Tail swung and slammed right into Crobat, sending the bat sailing through the air until its Pokeball spontaneously activated and recalled it. Silver looked down at his belt with an annoyed looked to see what would be drawn out next as a different beam of light from a different Pokeball fired off, the beam hitting the field and materializing into the form of his Magneton.

And just like Aden planned the Magneton would not have much time to avoid the Earthquake, and neither would Ambipom for that matter. The ground shook violently and both Pokemon were rattled something fierce. Ambipom looked a little dizzy afterwards as it sat on its behind while Magneton already looked down for the ground as it struggled to float back up into the air. If not for its Sturdy ability it would have certainly been gone.

"I will not be made a fool of..." Silver quietly hissed, humiliated to see his Pokemon get near taken out so quickly. "Explosion." Silver plainly ordered, his Magneton beginning to glow brightly.

"Silver! This is a double battle!" Ethan shouted in protest but it was too late. Trying to think of a way to save Ambipom the boy gave an order. "Bounce!" He cried out. Using its twin tails Ambipom would launch its self straight up into the air, hoping to avoid the coming Explosion.

Seconds later Magneton would explode violently, the resulting burst of Normal energy consuming the entire field. Of course immediately after, before the smoke had time to settle, Crobat would reappear, ready for revenge.

Jackpot. He still had the Magneton. Perhaps the Crobat and Magneton are the only Pokemon he had on him. Just on cue, too, Aden follows up with the Earthquake to rock both the Ambipom's and Magneton's world. Things were actually looking up finally for once. At least...it looked that way. Silver showed just exactly why he rubs people all the wrong ways. A command for Explosion. No lead up, just like that. Tristen didn't even catch Silver's partner's protest. Tristen was nearly in full on panic. "Dragonite! Fly! Go go go!" Tristen called out. He needed Dragonite to get clear of the blast zone. The Dragonite started to get distance as the Magneton glowed furiously then unleashed its mighty blast. It wasn't long until the pressure wave blew Dragonite head over heels. The dust kicked up across the field, Tristen having to shield his face for a moment.

When he looked back, he tried to assess the situation the best he could. Dragonite was still up and floating about, though he still had the poison working its vile damage in it. Dragonite wasn't going to be up for much longer. Silver already sent Crobat back out; after the Hurricane and Dragon Tail, its probably not feeling the greatest, but probably in better shape than Dragonite right at the moment. Tristen lost sight of Ambipom in the blast...wait... "Aden, where's Nidoking!?"

Aden barely had time to brace himself, the Explosion's force threatening to throw him off his feet. "Nidoking, you might want to pivot that!" He called out, though with Nidoking being much closer to Magneton than he was, he wouldn't fault him if he couldn't do anything in time. He wouldn't be sure of what'd come of everything until the energy dissipated a bit, followed by the dust. And, on the ground, a nearly-covered hole thanks to the Explosion practically undoing what Nidoking had managed.

"...underground," he finally answered, his tone surprisingly calm. "If he was fast enough about it, he should've pivoted the Earthquake into Dig to get underground. That, or the Explosion saved him the trouble and I'm probably going to need to send someone else out." A moment later, Nidoking would emerge from the ground, though it didn't look like he escaped the Explosion unscathed; between that and the surprising force behind Ambipom's Fake Out, he probably wouldn't be standing for much longer either. "Not quite fast enough, but close," he remarked afterward.

"Your Dragonite's not looking too good either... think he's got enough fight for one more attack? I think I have an idea if you can work under more rainy conditions."

Silver growled as he noticed both Dragonite and Nidoking survived the Explosion, more annoyed than anything that it didn't take them both out. While he saw Tristen and Aden try to make some sort of plan he became more annoyed and decided to he was going to get this battle over with.

"Okay, Silver, Ambipom is going to come down on Dragonite so why don't you have-" Ethan began to speak but Silver ignored him and went on without him.

"Zen Headbutt on that Nidoking!" Silver ordered, his bat letting out a cry before rushing head long into the Nidoking, its cranium giving off a pink Psychic energy glow.

"Silver! We have to work together!" Ethan protested as he watched his Ambipom come down upon Dragonite, aiming to slam both its fist-like tail appendages on the dragon as it fell upon it. The boy was annoyed himself now, though only because they had a change to guarantee taking out at least one Pokemon but his partner refused to cooperate.

Silver wasn't gelling all too well with his partner. Tristen started to have revelations himself. Tristen then spotted the Ambipom, on the way back down. Without hesitation, Tristen nodded to Aden. "Wouldn't be the first rainy day I had." He said. "Lead the way."

"In that case," Tristen would notice a bit of a glint in Aden's eyes with that remark. He knew Nidoking wouldn't be able to take the Zen Headbutt, but maybe there'd be enough stamina for one last trick. As soon as Crobat was about to be in arm's reach, he'd shout out the command in mind, ready to go for broke. "Nidoking, brace yourself and go for Seismic Toss! Aim for Ambipom!"

Nidoking would do all he could to hold his ground as the Zen Headbutt landed its mark, growling in pain as he went to grab Crobat by the wings. If successful, he'd spin Crobat around before finally hurling them at Ambipom, having a pretty good idea of what Tristen might have in mind. There'd only be one shot regardless; after the toss, sucessful or not, Nidoking would fall over and be unable to fight any further.

In similar, gamble like fashion, with the toxins trying to finish off the hardy Dragonite, Tristen would have Dragonite make its move. "Perfect." To put the screws to Silver, who was nothing short of a hinderance to his own partner, and to at the very least finally bring the first bit of good news all vacation. With the Crobat hopefully tossed, Tristen pointed upwards towards the Ambipom. A two-for-one special to highlight the teamwork of his father figure's own students. "Dragonite! Hyper Beam!" Tristen shouted.

Dragonite braced itself, a orange powerful mass charged at its mouth and with a roar, a mighty blast erupted from the Dragonite up towards the opponents. One last spectacle on the field from the Dragonite before it succumbs to the poison.

Crobat was helpless as it was snatched up and tossed straight into Ambipom, the two colliding together in midair and made a prime target for the massive beam of energy which would soon after slam into them both, the blast separating them and sending them flying to the far end of the field behind both their trainers, slamming onto the ground unceremoniously where they would both remain, knocked out cold.

"Ambipom..." Ethan said dejectedly as he recalled his Pokemon, he hated his monkey had to go down like that. Silver on the other hand was far less expression and quickly recalled his Pokemon, as if to save himself embarrassment and tossed out another Pokeball, this one releasing a Feraligatr, a very angry looking one at that.

Giving Silver a side eye glance Ethan would take out a Poke Ball and toss it onto the field, the device popping open to reveal a Togekiss. "Look, Silver, I know Feraligatr is really strong but we have to work together! He's your last one!" Ethan continued to implore Silver, but it was of course no use.

"Feraligatr, hit Dragonite with Ice Punch!" Silver ordered, his Feraligatr letting out a primal roar as it rushed straight for Dragonite, both sets of claws dripping with icy energy as it prepared to slug and pummel the dragon with its frozen fists empowered by its Sheer Force.

"Silver...whatever. Togekiss, get ready. Nasty Plot!" Ethan ordered, Togekiss letting out a quiet whisper to its self followed up by a sinister laugh and a devious glance in the direction of Aden. What horrors did it think of for his next Pokemon?

Silver wasn't even going to let his Crobat's toxins finally take the last vestiges of consciousness the Dragonite had. He had to do it. Once again, spelling volumes about this trainer's M.O. Tristen was agitated, now. But unfortunately, as much as he wanted to make Silver pay for that, Tristen found himself at his inevitable dilemma. "Dragonite, return." Tristen would say, recalling the fallen Dragonite. Tristen only had Eevee and the Wimpod and in the latter's case, he had not done pretty much anything with the thing. Eevee could do some things, but to take on this Feraligator? Or the Togekiss which was now getting ready to wreck havoc? Tristen is starting to find his chances drastically going down. Aden could only do so much on his end either, as he could figure. He'd imagine at this point it'd be Aden trying to prop him up, which was something he was well trying to avoid. Tristen could only wish he had Galvantula or Zebstrika with him right at the moment.

He couldn't give this up, regardless, however. "Eevee! Go!" Tristen called out. He tossed out the Pokeball and out came the Eevee upon the field. He had a feeling where this battle was going to go. Quickly, Tristen was trying to formulate his own plan, but it'd depend on what Aden had, honestly.
