Freth peered around the corner, only to realize...no one...was there? She could have sworn there was something going on. Then again, perhaps the poison was doing its work. If that was the case then she's perhaps worse off than she'd imagine. She'd probably wouldn't make it back to the dojo in time. She scratched away at her wrist, an itch making itself known once more, but worse, feeling quite a bit distraught now. But then the question as to what to do? At the very least take the watts.

She took up the watts, then looked back down towards the beach, in the direction of where Beau and Amaranth was having it out against the weird hybrid. Could there be a possibility he also carried an antidote to what he had? Hell, she'd settle for Pecha berries to stymie the effects of it at least, so at least she could make it back to the dojo for proper treatment. It was a risk, getting herself back in a fight against the likes of him. She'd probably have to fight from the backlines if nothing else. She took out a Pokeball, the one containing Cufant. Lets see that b*****d try to poison this thing. She then started to make her way off towards the fighting down the beach. Hopefully Beau and Amaranth can keep his attention long enough to surprise attack him...

Brian smiled a bit when Lu's combination of Quick Attack and Blaze Kick worked, which was followed immediately afterward with Odd's Chatot using Aerial Ace. He watched as Simisage went flying into the ocean, and he turned to face their other opponents. Before he could call out an attack, however, he heard Cilan call out for Simisage to use Grass Pledge, and he could only watch as his beloved Riolu took the full brunt of the attack, looking a little worse for wear as she barely managed to survive the Water Pledge that followed on the heels of the previous attack. This is bad, Brian thought. Lu can't take much more, though it looks like the Rowap berry I gave her to hold did some damage, as well.

Before he could think anything else, a bright light suddenly appeared where he knew Lu had been standing moments before, and he wondered what was going on. A moment later, a voice cried out from the same spot, and although it was somewhat familiar, it was deeper, more commanding than Lu's voice. As the light died down, he looked where Lu had been standing to see not a Riolu, but a Lucario standing there, panting a bit from having taken both the Grass and Water Pledges. Alright, this could still work to our favor! he thought, thinking that the Striaton trio were in for a massive surprise now.

"Alright, Lu, let's take advantage of yer newfound abilities and give our opponents a surprise they won't forget," he said. "Use Aura Pulse on Simipour!" Another combination attack; this one was a mixture of Aura Sphere and Dragon Pulse, and one that he'd designed with his mother's Lucario when he started training Lu. This particular combination was designed to do damage, and with Aura Sphere mixed in, hopefully it would take on the effects of the Fighting-type move and hit even if the target tried to dodge. With her unable to move quickly due to the swamp they were now standing in, this was their best chance to do some damage, and hopefully knock one of their opponents out before Lu went down.

Odd's mind raced as the battle dragged on. He knew he allies were even more limited regarding the number of Pokemon they had on them and they deserved more time to shine, despite their currently short tenure with the team. He couldn't seem to recall a limit being enforced on how many Pokemon the players in the Wild Area were allowed to use to this could end poorly for Deo and Brian if he didn't figure something out quickly.

Replay had been able to keep Simisear at bay, for the most part, through repeated uses of Aerial Ace to maintain distance and Steel Wing to defend as needed but he'd been unable to break away during the combination attack the triplets had pulled off. Now that the grounded Pokemon were caught in the newly-formed quagmire, Simisear seemed to back off slightly but that was only further cause for concern, now.

"Replay, protect Charmander!" Odd called out. He was still trying to think of some way to end this quickly as Replay rushed to Charmander's aid, pulling it from the muck and try to find somewhere safe to put it down. As the Chatot flew, Odd could see a faint crimson light beginning to shine within the bird's wings and it came to him. "Replay, use Sky Attack and hit them all!" He called to his partner.

"You two, see if you can push them into a line so Replay can hit them." He instructed th other two trainers, just as Brian called for his, admittedly interesting, attack. He missed the incoming Flame Burst, unfortunately, and Replay was forced to take the gaseous fireball head on as he attempted to charge up the energy needed to fuel the next attack. This would be the only chance they had to end this in one move. Odd grimaced as he felt the weakness in all of their Pokemon. This was going from bad to worse, fast. "Be careful of those flames!" He warned Brian and Lu, hoping this wouldn't be the end of the tournament for all three of them.

Beau would stumble out of the smoke, scorch marks decorating the Vivillon hybrid across his clothes and body as he shakily approached the Galarian Slowbro hybrid. Taking a moment to brush himself off, Beau would get into a wobbly stance against the hybrid. "Alright, buster. Only I get to blow up me. Now, hold still while I narrow down which of the five I need to punch." Beau shouted, eyes twitching as they seemed to focus on a few different things at once. Compared to the extremely composed and professional nature of the Slowbro that had just taken him down a peg, Beau almost looked comical in his approach.

Thankfully, he wasn't the one throwing the first blow in this case. While the smoke had been naturally settling out, one tiny Pokemon had taken advantage of the cover to try and charge towards the opponent. And having caught sight of this approach, Beau had decided that the dismal effort for resistance he had put up would provide a decent distraction. As the waters began to draw out for the Surf attack, Pistachio would fling himself out of the smoke to Sucker Punch the Alolan Slowbro hybrid. Hopefully that would be enough to throw off things and give Amaranth an opening.

Cera would notice the feather all too late, her Challenger Band being sliced off in an instant and leaving a decent cut on her as well, causing her to plummet to the ground and scream as her focus on floating was lost. Too stunned by the sudden assault and tumbling on the ground as it was, the Flash Cannon would send her tumbling even further and keep her from having any chance of recovering her now-cut band on the ground.

Her Lapras would fire an Ice Beam at the Channeler and her Magnemite in defense, if not a bit of emotions getting the better of her judging by the cry she gave upon attacking.

For some reason, it took a bit for Amaranth to realize her SNAG was going off, just now grabbing it to hear Freth's warning... and promptly being thrown from the fiery Weather Ball deciding to turn into a Weather Bomb thanks to Beau's Powder, alongside her Dodrio.

Groaning after the impact and slowly raising her head, the most Amaranth would see before her was an increasingly gigantic wave building up... and who most've been the hybrid Freth warned them against. "Guess their reputation precedes them already," she remarked, grabbing the hammer artifact that landed next to her and motioning to Dodrio. Thankfully, Swift wasn't out of the fight just yet and was still good for her to ride on.

"We've got no time. Rush them down, Swift! Pursuit!" Holding the hammer out like a baseball bat and ready to swing, she'd have Dodrio race towards the sea at the approaching Slowbro hybrid. She couldn't say she'd seen one like that, but hopefully what little she knew of ones not from Galar still had some merit. If not, she was fairly sure they wouldn't resist a hammer swung while on a speeding Dodrio.

Crystal dropped her hand and winced once the trainer recalled her Skarmory, the pain in her head refusing to relent quite yet. The trainer just completely bailing on the battle altogether and running off with Cera’s Challenger Band came from out of nowhere for her. “What the?! Oh come on. I wouldn’t have even jumped in, outside of keeping it fair on both ends. Coward,” she grumbled, taking deep breaths in a feeble attempt to keep that raging migraine of hers under control. At least Cera’s Lapras was trying to do something, as small as it might have been. Trying to go after the channeller herself wasn’t even remotely close in her mind with that damned headache sapping her energy and focus. At least until Clefairy came up to her. Truth be told, she hadn’t even noticed until she felt the energy surge into her. Clefairy looked rather upset as well, and Crystal figured she understood why. “Right then. Sure, we’ll go for it. For them.” The hybrid would hold Cassidy in her arms as she stood up slightly unsteadily. The migraine that accompanied her exit from her headspace finally seemed to be easing, at least for now.

“Hey, Cera,” the lioness called out, “We’ll be right back. Think you’ll be good to answer a question or two when I get back? Or maybe figure out where Sub is if you’re not. He might want to be here for these questions, anyways...” There would be the sound of metal scraping against each other as her shawl came undone, seemingly all on its own, at the same time the bow on her skirt pulled itself out and fell onto the ground, finally showing off her tail and the sports clothes she wore underneath, as well as her white backpack that kept itself rather conveniently hidden underneath her shawl. Her body would begin to glow soon after, everything non white sans her upper face starting to glow yellow, and everything white glowing a yellowish-white. Her forehead wouldn’t be free of changes either, though, as the stars that periodically winked in and out of existence would begin to grow longer and longer tails, until they looked like comets streaking across the light sky, and a bright blue symbol that looked similar to a hollow compass rose appeared smack dab in the center of her forehead. “We’ll be back with your band. Haven’t seen anything outrun me like this yet.” A crack of the neck later, Crystal would dart off afterwards, leaving a trail of light behind as she rushed to catch up to the trainer and her two Pokemon.

“Cassidy, I need you to use Ember on her two Pokemon when we catch up. Or stronger gouts of fire would be nice if you could possibly conjure them somehow.” The Litten in her arms would look up at her for a very brief moment before looking forward again, appearing to not care as the pair careened forward. However, once their targets were in sight, Cassidy took the initiative before his trainer could say anything, the small black cat spitting a multitude of small balls of fire at both the Bronzor and Magnemite, jumping out of Crystal’s arms. This action also allowed Crystal to be more comfortable with her action, charging forward with a punch wound back and aimed for the trainer’s gut. “Hey, I don’t think we’re done just yet,” she yelled, trying to draw her attention and turn her around. The one thing the trainer had going for her currently was that Crystal was coming in pulling her punches. While the woman was indeed a steel channeller, the hybrid still wasn’t sure how well she could take a punch from her if she put more force in. A human body could only take so much, and as much as she wanted to show off more of why Solgaleo were called emissaries of the sun, she wasn’t planning on serious harm to anyone here. This was supposed to be a tournament after all, not a death match.

[Forest of Focus]

(2/5 Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Sundaria, Cera, Lillie)

Bronzor would intercept the Ice Beam to protect its trainer, the Channeler continuing its flight until Cassidy launched its Ember, the fireballs striking the Bronzor and the Magnemite, the first of which was knocked out of the air and fainted while the second was struck and was dislodged from its Steel Channeling trainer. With the Magnemite disconnected the Channeler was a sitting Psyduck as she looked back in horror just soon enough to see Crystal arrive to deliver a powerful punch to her gut. The Channeler had really wished she hard been more solid in that moment.

Falling to her knees and grabbing her stomach in pain the Channeler hunched over and gasped as she tried to find her breath again. "T-take it..." She struggled to say as she tossed Cera's Challenger's Band onto the ground. The Channeler was too busy trying to breathe to say much more for the moment. It was also then that the display on the Channeler's Challengers Band flashed, 340 watts. Weren't the rules you just had to knock out all their Pokemon? Skarmory was already down, so was Bronzor, and Crystal didn't see a fourth Pokeball. Where was that Magnemite again?

"Magne...mite..." The magnet Pokemon buzzed raggedly as it floated back up and began to spark.

"Mm...weird dream..." Lillie stirred and said as she sat up and stretched, yawning as if she awoke from a nap. "Huh? Did I fall asleep or something? Cera? Where did you come from?" Lillie asked as she noticed the Mew, her Clefairy skipping over and hugging her tightly. "Oof! Hey there!" She said, petting the Clefairy. "Oh! I remember now! That girl that tried to steal my watts! Where is she!?" Lillie asked, looking around in a panic.

[Soothing Wetlands/Challenge Beach]

(0/8 Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Freth, Beauregard, Amaranth)

The Galarian Slowbro hybrid was struck by the Seedot's Sucker Punch, the attack hurt, probably not as much as it could have, but it provided enough of a distraction for Amaranth's follow up. The Dodrio rider would come bolting out of the smoke, hammer raised and ready to strike. The hybrid was too distracted by the Sucker Punch and trying to pull in the wave to do anything about it as Amaranth slammed the hammer across the side of its head, knocking the hybrid clean of his feet and onto the ground.

It was super effective! Galarian Slowbro hybrid fainted! OHKO!

After the hybrid was knocked unconscious the prepared Surf would fizzle out into a harmless wave which washed onto the ground and wet the hybrid some more. The group of Snagems could hear a Roto-drone approaching, likely to take away the hybrid but first Freth needed something from its person. Either way, both Beau and Amaranth gained 60 watts each. Nice.

[Workout Sea, Ditto Island]

(0/2Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Deo, Odd, Brian)

Charmander's Blaze empowered Ember would materialize not as an 'Ember' but a right and proper Flamethrower as the intense stream of flames consumed Simisage, the fire almost immediately knocking out the grass monkey upon contact. Cilan did not delay in recalling his Pokemon, to spare it further suffering. As a bonus for Charmander the group would find the area around it had been reverted back to sand. Unfortunately Deo would find that was the end for Charmander, it had used up what last little bit of its strength it had left for that Flamethrower but it went down fighting, the lizard fainting and falling over onto the sandy ground.

The guided ball of energy that was Aura Sphere would find its target with incredibly precision as it slammed into the gut of the Simipour, sweeping it off its feet as the ball carried the monkey into the air for several feet before finally exploding, the aquatic monkey falling back to the ground with a hard thud. It wasn't down for good but that attack certainly did a number on it as it struggled to get back up. That was when Chatot arrived.

The Sky Attack slammed into Simipour first and then Simisear, the two carried off the ground by the tiny bird by sheer force alone. Simipour wouldn't survive another fall so Cress gave a command to take someone out with it as it noted that Lucario took some more damage from the splashing of embers resulting after Flame Burst.

"Disarming Voice on Lucario!" Cress ordered, his monkey letting out a desperate cry which sent shock waves of Fairy energy at Lucario, just as the Simipour fell back to Earth. It would be enough to take out Lucario, and the aquatic monkey took solace in that before hitting the ground a second time, this time knocked out cold.

As for Simisear who also got swept up in the Sky Attack and hit the ground with a thud, he got back up and growled defiantly at Chatot who was now making its return flight. "Fire Spin! Don't let it escape!" Chili commanded, Simisear unleashing a torrent of flames from its mouth, not at Chatot directly but at the ground just ahead of the direction it was heading in. The flames would turn upon hitting the ground and quickly began to form a twister of fire, Chatot meeting a wall of flames at first but soon realizing it was now trapped inside a Fire Spin.

"Time for the next course! Go, Maractus!" Cilan called out as he released his dancing cactus onto the field.

"Here comes the seafood portion! Basculin, it's time!" Cress declared as he tossed a ball just ahead into the remaining swamp, releasing the fish Pokemon, Basculin. "Ready brother? Basculin, Water Gun on Maractus!" He ordered, the fish turning back to spray Maractus with a powerful stream of water.

It didn't matter which direction Basculin sprayed in, Maractus's Storm Drain would have drew it in anyways but regardless absorbed the entire Water Gun and actually grew in size as its Special Attack was raised. "Time to make the portion even bigger! Growth!" Cilan commanded.

Drawing energies from the environment Maractus would begin to glow green before expanding to an even larger size as both its Attack and Special Attack were now raised! Once it was all down the Maractus had doubled in size, now twice as tall at over six feet and way more thicker, filled to the brim with water.

"Rex, good job, return"

as such, the charmander returned to the pokeball. Now facing a six foot tall Maractus, and seeing that his opponents are of fire, grass, and water. Deo decided to figure that a fighting type would work. Knowing that the grass type was now a giant punching bag.

"Alright, Major, lets finish this!" Deo declared as his Machop came forth from his pokeball and looking straight at the much larger Maractus. "Machop!" It declared and went to a boxer position.

Deo seeing this was happy it knew what it resembled at first than he did. "Alrighty Major, Final Round of the fight. Ding-Ding!" Deo exclaimed in a form of confidence he has not had in some time. Where then the machop would then proceed to give a left hook and an uppercut to the Maractus in the gut using strength. All the while, the machop was singing to itself in its own language what a famous boxers theme would be from a movie. (We know this as Gonna Fly Now from the Rocky movies)

"At-a Boy, Major!" Deo cheered as he now realized his machop has learned strength.

The Challenger’s Band would float up next to Crystal once it landed on the ground, hovering above her index finger. “I will, thanks. However…” The hybrid’s eyes darted to where the Magnemite was getting up. Cassidy was watching the steel type calmly, almost lazily, until Crystal called out to him. “Cassidy, try to pull off a Fire Fang this time instead.” The black cat nodded, jumping up surprisingly fast for what his demeanor gave off, fangs on fire as he leapt to chomp down on the Magnemite.

While Litten attacked, Crystal’s attention would turn back to the trainer in front of her, lifting her up by the collar of her shirt before slamming her into a tree, her glow only dying down a little bit. “Now, the transgressions against me, we could care less about. I needed that kick in the rear that your Bronzor ended up giving me. The other two, though, especially running off with Cera’s Challenger Band, now that’s a different story.” Said band would find its way into the hybrid’s backpack, allowing Crystal’s hand free to grab the woman’s own Challenger Band. Her eyes focused on that band, almost waiting for whatever data, however this worked, to register for Snagem.

Brian watched as Simisage was nearly knocked out by the Flamethrower that Rex managed to let out, though Cilan recalled it before it could be completely knocked out. The Flamethrower had also reverted the swamp back to sand, so there was no more worry about being bogged down and not being able to move freely. Unfortunately for Brian, Lu had taken some damage from the Flame Burst, thanks to its splash effect and her partial Steel-typing, and the Disarming Voice was all it took to completely knock her out.

Taking her ball from his belt, Brian recalled his fallen partner, giving a fond smile as he did so. "Well done, Lu," he said, his voice quiet. "Take a good rest; ye've earned it. Firebrand, let's do this!" Replacing Lu's ball, he took Firebrand's from his belt and tossed it into the air, releasing the Magmortar, who immediately took a fighting stance, despite his slight remaining distrust for Brian.

"Alright, Firebrand, let's start off hot!" Brian ordered. "Sunny Day, followed by Lava Plume on Maractus!" Hopefully, combined with Deo's Machop's attacks, this would weaken the Grass-type enough to prevent it from doing too much damage before it could be knocked out. The Basculin would prove a problem for Firebrand if it remained in the battle for too long, but his priority right now was taking out the bigger threat while he had the chance. Hopefully, the Passho berry he'd given Firebrand earlier that day would be enough to prevent too much damage from the Basculin's Water-type attacks. Only time would tell as the battle dragged on.

Much to Freth's surprise, and perhaps relief, the sniper had already been dispatched with due haste. She made her way down to the washed up body and started to search him. She needed to find some means to dispel this poison...whatever it was...that was sapping her strength gradually more and more. She would end up finding a medical kit, a pouch if nothing else. Typical essentials: bandages, alcohol pads, and the like, but along with it, a couple of vials. She popped open one of the vials and took a smell. Strong, potent sweet smell. Similar to pecha berries. The antidote? It was a gamble...but down the hatch. It was all she had to go on at the moment; trying to find a berry tree, let alone making it back to the dojo in time would have been a larger gamble with how bad she was starting to feel.

After taking what was presumably the antidote, she stood back up. Regardless of what it was, she still had to make it back to the dojo. She had her watts and she didn't need to take any more of a chance than what she did. Even if this would work the poison out, the damage was done and she still needed time to recover. She couldn't fight like this. It was time to head back to the dojo while the getting was good.

"Came to... help..." Cera remarked, groaning. "And sure, feel free to ask, but first?" She'd notice the Magnemite starting to spark and even though Cassidy probably had this under control, she'd conjure and flick an Aura Sphere at it just in case. "You can sit down."

Her Lapras would try her best to push herself over, lowering her head to let Cera get onto her a bit easier.

"Anyways, she should be right there..." She answered to Lillie, motioning to the Channeler keeled over on the ground and reclaiming her Challenger's Band.

"Good, the hammer works as a hammer," Amaranth commented, thankful that the combo from her and Beau was able to stop them. "Erm..." Noticing Freth's condition as she approached and drank some vial. "If you need it, Swift can carry you back to the dojo. I should be good to keep going on foot for a bit."

Replay was caught in the Fire Spin after his team's attacks had been executed and squawked in pain as the flames engulfed him. It would only take a few seconds to rend what little fight he had left in him from his feathery form, forcing Odd to recall the avian Pokemon. "Thanks for the help, Replay." He'd thank the Music Note Pokemon before sending out his next: Cadenza. Why the most fragile of his team? He saw that Maractus powering up and the moment it attacked one of his allies, he'd throw a Guardian Halo around their Pokemon to try and dampen the blow. He wasn't sure if it could completely block an attack boosted that much but it was the only way he could think of to keep Brian or Deo from being knocked out. In the meantime, he'd call out to his partner. "Cadenza, use Silver Wind!" The aim was to knock out that Simisear first and foremost but if it harmed Basculin and Maractus as well, then all the better.
