Brian was watching as Odd ordered Cadenza to release an Ominous Wind, which somehow managed to hit the Channeler. The force of the hit moved the Channeler close enough that he got caught in the pull of the den as the Pokemon inside reached up to pull him and his abomination of a Pokemon inside. A moment later, all was calm, and they were able to catch their breath, and Brian gave a sigh of relief knowing they didn't have to deal with the strange Channeler for a while.

When Odd approached and apologized for losing his cool, Brian shook his head. "Don't worry about it," he said. "We all have baggage to carry; breaking down every now and then is normal." As the Ghost-type Channeler managed to call out another Pokemon, he smiled when he saw that Odd called out his Golurk. Getting to the island in the distance would be quite easy, and when Odd left room for him and Deo, he took the offered ride and settled in Dissonance's hand before the Ground/Ghost-type launched itself into the air, aiming for the island.

Odd nodded in greeting to both Deo and Brian, looking up to the larger hybrid before he offered a still sheepish smile. "Very astute of you." He replied with a smirk. "I forget Hybrids tend to be more affluent at sensing energies and other unseen details that the average person." He admitted before waving the details aside for the moment.

"To answer your question, yes, I'm a Ghost Channeler. Training to be a Ghost Master, in fact." He stated after a moment. "The person who attacked us a moment ago... Also seems to be a Channeler, though unlike any I've ever encountered before." He admitted, eyes narrowing. "Their energy reminded me of someone I... we took out not too long ago." He explained. "That must have been what triggered that episode back there." He seemed to be more upset than he was letting on about that. Perhaps some lingering anger or fear? Or perhaps it was worse than that? Even he couldn't say at the moment.

The Snagem trio would make it to the far island easy enough, though the last few seconds of their approach was perhaps heart pounding as a Sharpedo tried to launch its self out of the water and snap at Golurk but alas it fell short. A nearby Wingull almost seemed to laugh at the shark's futile attempt.

Once they arrived they would find the island deserted of other competitors but filled with goodies. Two dens were glowing with watts and a Roto-drone became active shortly after their arrival. This one had a 3 on it but with an asterisk by it. The drone, totally unprovoked, would announce that it can only be used to send a Pokemon to someone competing in Wyndon Stadium, by using the watts accrued as a team, 200 watts to be exact.

Their Challenger's Bands and the drone its self could confirm their team had 560. The others must be busy. Regardless this meant they could use the drone to send a Pokemon to the following; Terashi, Leon, Tristan, or Aden. The lack of Ryan and Wren must have meant their battle was over, for better or worse. The drone would also provide them with information on their current situation; Terashi was down to just his Gallade, Leon had Eevee and shadow Koffing (not a good position), Aden had Alcremie and one more left, and Tristen had Espeon but the last was a Wimpod. Who would they allow to withdraw another Pokemon?

Besides the two dens and the drone they would note there were a lot of Exeggutor on this island, of the Kanto variety. But that was not all there was a lot of, there was also a considerable amount of Ditto, bobbing up and down out of the tall grass. Made them wonder how many of these Exeggutor were real and which were Ditto themselves. Either way they seemed to be relaxed Pokemon and did not bother them.

(If you wish to catch a Pokemon as your capture for this mission you may. Available Pokemon are; Exeggecute, Kantonian Exeggutor, Ditto, Blipbug, Happiny, Skwovet, and Applin on land and Tentacool, Magikarp, Remoraid, Carvanha, Sharpedo, Clauncher, Skrelp, Mantyke, and Fletchinder in or above the water surrounding.)

As the trio arrived on the island and began to notice the distinct lack of competition, Odd would let out another sigh of relief. For a moment, they could think and they could breath. He'd walk to one of the raid dens, look down into it and wonder for a moment if he should let one of the other two claim these watts. To make it through this round, they wouldn't just have to send Pokemon to their allies. They'd have to collect watts individually as well. He was fairly certain he didn't have enough of his own but had a feeling he was closer to the individual goal than his cohorts at the moment. Before he could make a decision, however, he spotted a Roto-drone nearby, which appeared to become active in their presence.

Approaching the drone, he'd take a look at it, hearing it's announcement that it was to be used to send aid to their teammates in the stadium. He'd take a moment to analyze the information presented, crimson eyes narrowing as he scanned the information. He could read the words very well but, thankfully, these things displayed images to assist.

"Looks like Wren and Ryan finished their battle... I can't tell if this thing shows a winner, though." He said to himself, squinting slightly as he processed the additional information. "Looks like most of our team's running low on Pokemon but... This one -Leon- needs something else on him. That Koffing's still infected with the Shadow Virus, I'm pretty sure and I'm positive he doesn't have an Immunizer to prevent the virus from spreading." He told the other two, whether they were listening or not. "How many points do we have to spend? Are we over the 200 needed?" He'd ask, looking at the screen to see if any information was available. Numbers were easier than words for him, thankfully, but it he was still certain he was reading it wrong. "650? That's enough to send three drones! Unless you two have a different opinion, I think Leon's the one we should be sending help to."

Beau would watch the hybrid as he began his tantrum, a few laughs escaping as efforts to keep composure rapidly failed. Finally settling down long enough to focus back on the hybrid, it would only take a moment before recognition crossed his face that maybe letting the Morpeko hybrid do things without harassment was poor strategy. Especially now that seemed to be cloaked in dark energy rather than the electricity it had previously. But before he could attempt any real evasive action, footsteps would catch his attention long enough to draw his eye and see what was about to go down. Beginning to move towards the wheel of darkness and doom, he would casually toss a Pokeball over his shoulder before unleashing a large cloud of Powder directly in the path that the Morpeko was taking towards him to cover the oncoming Amaranth until it was too late to avoid her and to hopefully let the Morpeko irritate his eyes and coat himself with the cloud of dust he was about to go rolling straight through. Either way, Beau wouldn't be able to evade and simply braced himself for the impact with a pair of crossed arms.

Brian was silent for most of the ride, just enjoying the wind through his hair as Dissonance transported them to the island. He listened to Odd replying to Deo's question, though he wasn't really paying much attention, since his attention was more on the Sharpedo that thought it would be a good idea to try and take a bite out of them. Thankfully, it failed, falling back to the water with a Wingull seeming to laugh at its misfortune. When they landed, he could see two different dens, and while he had half of the watts needed, he knew that Deo had less than him. Still, as long as they didn't get attacked by anyone, they didn't have to worry about their watts disappearing and having to start over. That being said, he walked to the den Odd wasn't at and activated it, claiming the watts before walking back to the others and listening as Odd began to speak.

When he heard what Pokemon the others were down to, he winced a bit. Terashi and Leon were the worst off, and Brian had to agree with Odd that Leon seemed the more logical choice. True, they had enough watts to send out two drones, but each of them had to collect watts individually, as well. "I agree with Odd on this one," he said. "It's too dangerous for Leon to use his Shadow Koffing, so he's my choice, as well." Once they'd decided, the question became who should activate the drone. Only one of them could do it, and all three needed to activate one to move on from this round.

After hearing the response to the question he asked, Deo decided to nod in a relief which after landing overheard this man, who he now knew was named 'Odd', mentioned that another snagem needed help. Mostly Leon who they said had a Shadow Koffing. Normally this wouldn't bother him too much, however this also had never heard of a Shadow pokemon. Which was strange in itself. Seeing that Leon needed that more than ever, he proceeded to nod in agreeance. "I agree that Leon needs this pokemon now. Of course I would not mind to give him a pokemon, but I currently am not only low, but have a grand total of less than four. Also, what is a Shadow pokemon? I have not heard of one before." He replied to Odd's question and was quite confused by it too.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 01, 2021 3:32 pm
Odd pauses and gave Deo a curious look for a moment after the trio had all come to an agreement. How in the world could he not know after the whole world(except for Galar, apparently) had been embroiled in a war against the man who'd initiated the creation and spread of it only a few short months ago? Regardless, he took a breath and began to speak. Better to teach him what he could now, after all.

"Shadow Pokemon are Pokemon infected by the Shadow Virus, a malignant, artificial variant of Pokerus created by a madman named Ein. The virus closes off the Pokemon's heart by driving them into a berserk rage, fueled by a lust for destruction. The virus can spread to uninfected Pokemon if they spend too much time around one who is infected or even just gets hit by the wrong attack from one in a battle and once afflicted, the Pokemon is unable to be cured. The virus can have it's maddening affects suppressed by battling and allowing it to run it's course since battle seems to encourage it's spread through the infected's system. Once it's run it's course, the Pokemon is in a state of stalemate with the virus, their immune system unable to overpower it but the virus unable to overtake the Pokemon's system any longer. Applying the vaccine at that point suppresses the madness and the Pokemon returns to it's normal state of mind, although possibly with some mental or emotional trauma." As he was explaining, Odd was busily tapping away at the drone's screen, using the pictures as his guide. "If the Pokemon isn't given a vaccine, it will eventually battle non stop, if able, until it simply dies of exhaustion." He finally stated as used his Challenger's band to activate the drone and send it off to the Rose Stadium, aiming to provide Leon with all the help it could.

"That's why it's so bad that Leon only had a Shadow Pokemon on him. We can't be responsible for letting that virus spread when we're around."

[Forest of Focus]

(2/5 Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Sundaria, Cera, Lillie)

"Mm, okay. If you say so." The Channeler shrugged and then turned to Skarmory. "Use Autotomize." The woman commanded. With a chirp Skarmory would flutter and shake its entire body, releasing a good amount of feathers across the immediate area, the dagger-like steel feathers dropping to the ground with surprising force, for feathers. Now lighter the Skarmory was able to move around much quicker than before.

Lillie began to stir and moan a bit, Clefairy exclaiming as she did and began to shake Lillie, trying to stir her further to waking but alas it did not work. Did the Channeler give Lillie the same treatment as Sundaria? Speaking of, the strange hybrid hadn't moved a muscle since. That was concerning. What was going on in her head?

-----

[Soothing Wetlands/Challenge Beach]

(3/8 Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Freth, Beauregard)

Freth would eventually find her way to the shores of the Soothing Wetlands, her SNAG, if she checked it, would notify her that she was now at Challenge Beach. A Toxapex would be startled by her, closing its self up and scuttling away into the ocean. She could see some strange wooden tower at the end of a small peninsula but other than that there wasn't much interesting about it.

What was interesting was the two glowing dens on the beach, their watts ripe for taking. Freth would easily get the first but when she went for the second a blast of Psyshock in the form of a small missile-like projection would fly straight for her and upon impact with either her or the ground would explode in an electric-like fashion, 'shocking' her nervous system if it hit and making her experience physical pain. Whether or not she could see it the assailant was on top of that tower, a Galarian Slowbro hybrid laying flat on its stomach with its arm cannon pointed directly at her, a specially made Zoom Lens affixed to its right eye as it closed its left. She had a sniper on her hands.

As for Beau he had his hands full already, been having them full, perhaps Freth didn’t notice the raging rodent trying to murder. Help would arrive though in a different form as Amaranth arrived on scene. The Morpeko hybrid would indeed pass right through the Powder, the substance, as expected, getting into its eyes and causing it to irritate them, the hybrid losing its focus just long enough to be caught off guard and struck by Swift and its Jump Kick, right after the Morpeko had slammed into Beau and kicked off of him by the Dodrio.

Coming to a rolling stop the hybrid would throw its head up to see who or what attacked it, growling at Amaranth from its all fours position. Falling to its knees it would throw its fists down its sides and roar into the air before punching the ground several times and then proceeding to leap off the ground with shocking speed and scaling considerable distance. Leaping straight over Beau and intending to bypass Swift the Morpeko hybrid would raise its fists into the air during its leap and would bright them both down upon Amaranth, the ground, or anything else that got into its way. That was when its true terrifying strength was discovered, that in spite of its small size its double fisted pound would deliver such force that if it just hit the ground it would cause the very Earth to fracture and send chunks of earth flying as it executed a Thrash attack. There was no stopping its rage now as it picked up a chunk of rock and chuck it at Beau like a deadly frisbee.

[Workout Sea, Ditto Island]

(0/2Dens remain.)

(Participants here: Deo, Odd, Brian)

After they had sent the drone off and Deo claimed the second den a trio of red Trainer’s Eyes beams would shoot out from a tree tops and strike each of them, a large dome of red eye spreading outward from their area and enclosing the entire island. Jumping down from the tree first came a red haired man, his hair styled like flames, Pokeball already clutched. Next carefully climbing down a man with green hair casually spiked up, he gave them a little wave. Finally, almost lazily coming down, was a man with medium length blue hair, he seemed almost tired.

“Hey! It’s the Snagems! What are the odds?” Chili declared, so eager that he released his Simisear right away.

“Greetings, nice to see you again, Odd. I see you have had new recruits since we last met. I’m Cilan, these are my brothers Chili and Cress.” Cilan introduced himself and his brothers. He proceeded to release his Simisage.

“Surprised to see gym leaders here? That’s because we’re retired. Running a gym and a restaurant was just too much work. But then we heard about this tournament and decided to come out of retirement...well, for now.” Cress said, releasing a Simipour.

“Didn’t notice us, did ya!? That’s ‘cause Simisage camouflaged us not only physically but also spiritually among the foliage! We’re learned a lot from you guys since the war! Ha!” Chili explained, happily revealing how talented his brother and Pokemon became. Weren’t even Channelers and still managed to hide themselves from Odd.

“Calm down, Chili.” Cilan calmly told him. “While we did ambuse the three of you and this is a contest we won’t be so untoward as to immediately begin our attack. Among us we have two hundred and ten watts, that’s seventy for each of you if you defeat us. But from what I see on my Challenger’s Band you three have a good few yourselves. So, without delay, how about we get this meal cooking? You may make the first moves.” Cilan politely declared.

Striaton Triplets Cilan, Chili, and Cress would like to battle! Triple battle, begin!
PostPosted: Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:27 pm
Odd took a moment to breath a sigh of relief that they had sent the drone off in time to potentially save an ally from being eliminated from the tournament. It was cut short, however, when the trio of crimson beams shot from the top of the tree. "Giratina's wings!" He spun on his heel as the dome of light expanded out from the three Snagems.

"Oh... it's you three!" He greeted with a small amount of surprise." He hadn't seen the Striaton Triplets since Snagem had been fighting for Unova's freedom against Ein's forces. "Chili. Cilan. Cress." He offered each a small wave in greeting. "It's nice to see you lot again. Interesting choice to retire, I'll admit but this won't be the day we lose, even to you three." He told the trio before glancing to Deo and Brian.

"Careful, Gentlemen! We're up against retired gym leaders here!" He warned the pair with him as he assessed the Pokemon he had on hand for the best option. Out of the ones he had, he felt his best best for this was likely to be his Chatot. Releasing Replay from his Ball, he'd prepare to attack. Once Deo and Brian had released their Pokemon, he'd call his first move. "Replay, use Hyper Voice!" He called out to his partner, taking the offer to have the first move. Replay swooped into the battle, taking up a position above the Striaton triplets' Pokemon and unleashing a massive noise as a near-solid cone of sound with the elemental monkeys at it's center.

"Well, being in a tournament, it would only be a matter of time before we would meet some competitive forms of opposition." Deo muttered to himself as he saw the three unique competitors who he figured that were trainers. Knowing very well there was no room for running and he knew from his guessing that when he saw that each of them were with red, blue, and green hair, that he would be up against fire, water, and grass if he was up for it. Therefore figuring that this fight would be a triple battle, he moved alongside Odd in a good distance for maneuvering.

"Well, I figure that we can deal with you somehow." getting his pokeball for his charmander and getting ready for the battle.

"Alrighty Rex, let's light things up!" as he releases his Charmander and after the other pokemon for the rest of the team were ready, he would have Rex target Cilan's pokemon with a flamethrower.

Freth found her way out of the forest, but then found herself out on the other side it seemed. A serene place, it looked. She took in the sea breeze for a couple of seconds but then started to look around. She was still in the middle of a competition after all. Freth looked about the strip of beach, noting the tower in the distance, but then took note to the two dens, ripe for the taking. Pay dirt. Before Freth could think about making herself down that way, she found herself eating sand. She rolled over, practically moaning out. What the hell hit her?

Her instincts had tripped, towards the tower. She wasn't sure what it was. Or who for that matter. She couldn't see it. But whatever or whoever it was could see her. She was out in the open, no cover to speak of. And considering the distance from the tower, too far to retaliate. Nothing she had could reach that far. Closest bit of cover was back in the forest. She couldn't head back there. Especially with two dens there. Only one thing she could do...

She took a moment to recover, then quickly pushed herself back up and made the hard mad dash towards the dens. She had at the very least close the gap between her assailant and the dens.

The assailant would fire off three more Psyshock shots at Freth as she rushed the dens. The first one after the surprise attack missed completely, the second would come incredibly close, maybe even clipping her as she would certainly hear the sound of 'thunder' cracking, and the third might just strike its target if Freth wasn't quick enough. One thing she would realize is that the shots were sporadic at best. That first shot after the sneak attack she probably didn't think much of it but the second came very quickly after and yet the third one had a noticeable delay. Was the attacker just taking time to aim? Maybe, but something inside Freth told her to store that information.

If the third one hit, clipped her, or missed it would occur right as she arrived at the dens. Even if it hit she could also note a fourth attack did not come despite being vulnerable, giving her time to get to the dens and claim at least one.

Brian watched as Deo collected the final den, while Odd sent off the drone. It wasn't long after that a trio of red beams shot from the trees, striking all three of them. Wondering what in the world was going on, since he hadn't been targeted by Trainer's Eyes yet, Brian could only watch as three men jumped down from the trees. He was surprised to see the Striaton Gym leaders, though from what they were saying, they were retired. He'd heard of them, even though he'd never actually met them before. His father had battled them at one point, a couple of years earlier, and had even managed to catch a few Unovan Pokemon while he was there.

"It's an honor to finally meet the three of ye," he said. "I've heard of ye, though we've never met." As he was speaking, he noticed the Pokemon the former Gym leaders had sent out, and he couldn't help smiling in response. A Simisear, a Simisage, and a Simipour. This should be interesting. His brain was in overdrive as he took in the types of their opponents, and after only a moment, he took a Pokeball from his belt. Touching it to his forehead, he closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them again and throwing the Pokeball. "Let's do this, Lu!" he said, and a moment later, his trusty Riolu was standing in front of him, already in a fighting stance. "May the best trainers win!"

Beau would stumble back as the Morpeko impacted him, preparing for the potential of even greater harm before Amaranth took care of the problem for the moment. And then becoming a measuring stick for how high the thing could jump as it decided to try and smash his savior into the ground. While he still had Pistachio's Pokeball in hand, there was no way the Seedot could manage to do anything against that Morpeko. Guess it was up solely to Amaranth. Nope, nothing he could contribute at all to this....wait, was that a rock? Looks like it was time for discretion to be the better part of valor. With a yelp and a dive that was aided by the last remnants of the Tailwind Red Baron had stirred up, Beau would narrowly avoid getting taken out by the mid-tantrum toddler. "Buzz off, you childish hothead! Cut this out or I'll try lighting a real fire under you!" Beau cursed from his position on the ground, eyes locked onto the Morpeko hyrbid as he awaited the next attack. Which he could see coming, although not from the Morpeko. Nope, apparently Red Baron and Freth had finished up wherever they were, because an Ember attack was now streaking through the air towards the Powder-coated Morpeko. "Wait....if only you showed up.....Did Freth forget me!?!" Beau exclaimed, now too distracted by this slight to his being to care about the explosion, the Morpeko, or really anything else.
