[Lake Miloch, after G-Max Kingler’s Defeat]

“Good. I’m glad we’re all in agreement. Now let’s go, your friends need help and we have some revenge to enact.” Kayda informed them, recalling her Porygon2 and soon releasing her Persian only to promptly mount it and take off towards the north, the rest of the group also mounting their Pokemon or hitching rides. Their destination was Bridge Field.

-----

Golurk would slam into the Substitute and thanks to its momentum flew right past the true Firebrand, eventually turning around and rocketing back towards the Magmortar as its trainer gave another command. “Stomping Tantrum!” Kalana ordered. Firebrand would have time to execute the Sunny Day, the light above them becoming bright, however it would not have enough time to properly aim its Solar Beam, the sun powered energy beam only grazing the shoulder of the Golurk before it came stomping right down on Firebrand with all its might, empowered by its frustration over its last move failing.

Brian would succeed in catching Ulla, Kalana glancing over his direction and prepared to attack them both but alas Leon had something to say about that as Leon got out of the quicksand thanks to his Vulpix and then immediately sent a thick black poisonous smog at her, the Ground Channeler proceeding to cough and hack as she absentmindedly breathed in the poison, not only that but the smoke now lingered around her, making it impossible to see. Pulling her jacket up around her mouth, to at least try to block out the poison but she could already feel it coursing through her body, the Channeler closed her eyes and focused. Thanks to her Sandygast not only could she alter the grain size of soil but she could also feel through the Earth by dispersing the Pokemon’s own body through it. With that she now had a clear ‘picture’ in her mind of the field and the presence of those standing on the ground via their energy signatures. Unfortunately that left her with just one other Pokemon since Golurk was occupied and from an earlier encounter Sandaconda was knocked out.

Suddenly red lines of energy would spread outward from Kalana in all direction along the ground, from behind her the face slab of a Runerigus would rise up and cackle. By the time the energy stopped spreading a large circle had formed around the general area with zigzaging lines running from its center to its borders. Throwing her hands up an enormous amount of tiny particles would rise up from the ground and linger in the air, Leon’s smoke soon dissipating and some of the airborne particles falling to the ground, discolored by Leon’s smoke. “Zeolite, it’s a very absorbent mineral. Luckily I know where to find it. Shadow Ball.” She commanded, the head of the Runegrigus firing off a Shadow Ball directly at Leon. She had just neutralized his Channeling effortlessly, Leon will need backup.

Thanks to Amaranth’s assistance the Thunder would barely miss Freth and herself as the human tackled the Hybrid. The two women would notice exactly how close it came as they noted the spot of burnt grass just inches away from them. The hybrid though would giggle as Dodrio passed through her, confirming that the hybrid was at least a Ghost type and judging by its vulnerability to Ice was also a Dragon type. As the bird slipped through the draco-woman would lash out with her briefly solidified tail and trip the three headed creature. “Won’t miss again! Hehe! Confuse Ray!” The ghostly lady dragon ordered, her speedy dragon bolting right up to Amaranth and Freth and unleashing a bright flash of light. For several seconds their vision would be completely white and slowly it would return over the next few seconds. As it returned they would both feel a powerful energy signature rapidly approaching them, from above in fact. Once they were able to see clearly they would notice a massive construct of Dragon energy in the shape of a Dreepy but more missile-like. The hybrid herself looked exhausted, hands on knees, but was smiling happily all the same as she watched as her Draco Meteor would soon come crashing down on them both.

Larrimore gagged and coughed as he took the faceful of powder but for the most part seemed not bothered by it, it wasn’t like he didn’t see it coming, eventually. Now standing up himself he looked from the sword in Beauregard’s hands to the hybrid’s eyes, and then up at Red Baron before meeting the butterfly man’s gaze again. “A single punch would have made it worth it but no. You know exactly what I’m doing here and why. And just to certify, Team Kalos was only a vehicle to get to you. It may be a stain on my honor but no greater than the one on yours.” Executing another Quick Attack the Pinsir hybrid rushed towards Beauregard, a bright flash of light going on in mid rush. His movements were quick and Beau perhaps wouldn’t have much of a chance to see exactly what he was doing, the next thing he knew the other hybrid was attempting to use his momentum to deliver a kick to his chest and knock him off the ground. Thanks to his Quiver Dance though he might have the speed and reaction to dodge but Larrimore planned for that too.

Whether or not Beau avoided the kick, the cause of the flash of light was revealed as Pineco came flying past and around him, a String Shot trailing it with Larrimore holding the other end as he used his Pokemon as some sort of makeshift flail. In that same moment Larrimore would use his Strength to attempt to pull Beau off the ground, swing him around, and use the momentum to slam him into the nearest tree.

As for Elgyem it wouldn’t have a chance to speak to Sub, who was still floating at the bottom of that pond for the time being. However, the Psychic would be subjected to a sudden premonition, or rather it was just its Analytic abilities kicking in subconsciously, its brain going into overdrive and running ‘analysis’ over the current situation. Either way the tiny little Psychic would note that all their enemies were attempting to push the Snagems towards Power Spots, raid dens. That could only mean they were soon planning to Dynamax their Pokemon, likely all at once to take them by surprise and finish them off in one fell swoop. He could feel it, the power of the Wishing Stars, each of them carried one. It perhaps wasn’t sure what it could do to stop their plot, maybe Krysta could think of something if he informed her. If only they didn’t have access to those Stars.

Speaking of, a strange Luxray hybrid would be teleported into the Wild Area next to Krysta, the man wearing a Team Snagem uniform as well. Certainly his sudden appearance would startle her but at least he appeared to be an ally.

As for those Snagems that just defeated G-Max Kingler maybe it was time for them to swoop in and give some of the others backup.

Elgeym would float over to krysta and try to get her attention "Hey. We need to talk" It spoke into her mind. she ignored it, she had been under all sorts of pressure with the cfhanges that had happened in such a short period. between meeting the snagems and muse evolving and having her first pokemonfbattle and some of the things that had happened. It was ALOT for a girl to take in. "Pay attention. Something is afoot. we need to let your friends know." she continues to clam up next to Muse wanting to pet her but kinda scared of the new pokemon. She never had considered what she would do it muse would evolve. Would she be allowed back into the lab? she is huge compared to how small she was. "LISTEN TO ME." a voice boomed into her head. "There is something going on. All these people are holding stars. I can sense them. And their seemingly hoarding your friend to specific locations. I don't think this is cause they want to have a picnic. Something is off. You need to let them know. things aren't right here... these people who just showed up aren't your or there friend. You can mope around later but for now get up and MOVE." Krysta would shrink back from the voice in her head but nod quietly. she quietly stood where she had just been sitting and Started looking around for Brian. Sure he would know what to do. He seemed nice and Krysta had a feeling that he was trust worthy. Krysta wondered where brian had been in all of the hooplah as things went down. and As she was looking around for Brian she tried to process "was that a mew? Like a REAL Mew? aren't those just myth gotta remember to ask someone about that later..."

The girl braced for impact as the shades came to attack her, stumbling back as they swarmed her. “I don’t… Wait. Baroc!” She threw up a Net Ball, letting out a large rusted anchor wrapped in seaweed, with a broken ship’s wheel attached at the top. Quickly, she would jump onto the anchor before calling out her orders. “Baroc, Shadow Claw these things! Amel, make it rain! Zaida, Tank the tornado and wait till the rain starts!” The trainer would cling tight to the anchor as two tendrils of seaweed cloaked at the tips by shadowy claws would emerge, the Dhelmise spinning around in a circle to hopefully banish the shades around its trainer.

The Chinchou would swim forward in front of the Gyarados as the serpent began spinning around in the water, roaring into the sky and summoning a rain storm. As the rain just started to fall, the reflected attack would hit the lantern fish, with the fish’s Volt Absorb being the only saving grace for it just barely staying up through all of that. When the rainstorm began, Zaida would send a lightning bolt into the air, hanging in the clouds for a moment before coming down in a more powerful form at the Chatot.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The hybrid would be just about finished with what she was writing, standing up on the top of the wall she had been taking her notes on. With a quick dusting off of her skirt, she’d turn around away from the fight, reaching around her back for something. Pulling out a light pink wrapped pastry, she’d gingerly unwrap it as her bright blue eyes watched the trainers that had dealt with the giant Kingler presumably run towards the fight that their friends were in. She did note that there were others in this group that did not bear the Snagem colors, but it was shrugged off, as she assumed that there was some sort of alliance going on. Her gaze would, however, pause on the two Alolan children, Elio and Lillie. A smile would quickly appear on her face as she closed her eyes, recalling some old memories before shaking her head. “I just got here. I can’t get involved with anything just yet. As nice as it would be…” A sigh would escape her mouth before she took a bite of her doughnut looking pastry, walking away from the continuing fight.
With Dragonite now in tow, Tristen had to quickly parse where exactly he needed to go to help best. It was hard to tell, honestly, with many melees happening all at once. Everyone were trying to gang up against the Snagems, trying to take them out. Snagem perhaps showed themselves too much of a threat to keep around, especially compared to the likes of any one particular team. Even Galar, much to their chagrin. Eventually, Tristen managed to take note to one Snagem caught out...Odd.
Tristen rushed off towards Odd's direction, noticing rain starting to come down upon the field, from that channeler. Tristen...has a history reveling in such conditions. "Dragonite!" he called out. "Hurricane!"
Dragonite rushed ahead of Tristen, rushing for Odd's rescue. With a mighty bellowing howl unleashed a mighty windstorm upon the water channeler's entourage.
Freth, trying to get back to her feet and paralysis being an absolute pain to contend with, eventually worked back to her feet. Unfortunately, she wasn't going to be moving with anything resembling haste, and worse, no means to rid herself of it right off hand. Made worse, however, despite Amaranth's assistance, the ghost dragon hybrid continued its relentless assault to make sure Freth remained a non-factor in this battle. Freth's eyes went wide once the Draco meteor was unleashed. She tried to rush off, but that rush was barely a hobble with her muscles seizing up consistently from the paralysis.
With the attack crashing down, there was no way to go. She ended up taking it. While she was far from out, having taken worse hits before, this...still wasn't kosher. She couldn't stay here and keep taking a beating like this. She once again tried to ready an ice beam and once again the same result, a flicker of icy power only to die out just as quick. Whatever that hybrid did was not wearing off.
Brian nearly stumbled when Ulla landed in his arms, though his years of sparring against his parent's Lucario kept him stable. He looked at Kalana as she made to attack them, though thanks to Leon's poison cloud and Smokescreen, he was able to get Ulla out of the way before either of them wound up poisoned. This isn't good, he thought, looking toward Leon. If that hits, Firebrand is done. Maybe there's time to pull off one more attack.... Looking toward Firebrand, he noticed the Magmortar standing his ground against the incoming Golurk, unwilling to back down even though he knew the attack would most likely knock him out, thanks to Substitute.
Throwing caution to the wind, Brian called out to Firebrand one more time. "Firebrand, if ye can hear me, put everything into one last attack," he said. "Full power Solar Beam, point blank!" He knew the Fire-type might not have time to fully charge it, but if enough energy could be stored, even if he didn't survive the attack, they could still do some massive damage. Firebrand, hearing his new trainer's words, knew exactly what Brian was thinking, and immediately started charging the Solar Beam, which took less time thanks to Sunny Day still being in effect. He waited until the Ground/Ghost-type was upon him before firing, hoping that even if he wasn't able to withstand the attack, he could at least take the Golurk with him.
Before he could say anything else, Brian caught a flash of movement from the corner of his eye, and he turned in time to see a Luxray hybrid he'd never seen before stepping up to Kalana to hit her in the face. Where had this hybrid come from? Moreover, why had he attacked the channeler with only his fists? From the uniform, he was clearly part of Team Snagem. The guy was absolutely massive, and Brian was glad he wasn't on the receiving end of this living juggernaut's fury.
Ryan recalls James, then calls out Orth, his Kingdra. Ryan puts his right arm around Orth as the Kingdra latches onto his Gourd, steadying his so the Kingdra was looking over his shoulder.
"Having fun without me?" Orth quips, noticing that Ryan was not at 100%.
"If you could call that fun, then yeah, but the fun's over. time to get serious." Ryan says as he dashes off towards where the other fighting is going down.
Once they arrive, Ryan spots the troublesome Ground Channeler. "Orth, Water Pulse." Ryan orders as he starts to ready a Sniper Shot, one that was no wider than a sewing needle, but so concentrated and strong, it would be like shooting out of a high-pressure washer. Orth fires off the Water Pulse at the Sandyghast to try and grab its attention. Once Ryan had readied his Sniper Shot, he would fire at the channeler directly, aiming for the bridge of their nose. If it hit, it was set to do some painful damage.
Beau would be very accommodating to the sudden violence being inflicted on him, unable to speed past the flurry of blows but able to at least go with them and dampen their effectiveness. And as he was hurled towards the tree, he would suddenly extend out his wings and use the sudden halt to momentum to put his feet against the tree. Running up and flipping himself over Larrimore, he would grip onto the Pinsir hybrid's arm as he shouted, "Baron! Ember at me!" Using what leverage he could manage, Beau would spin Larrimore to intercept the flames with his Powder-coated face before retreating a few paces. Notably, still not actively using the sword beyond holding onto it
"Stain on my honor? So keeping my best friend from a corrupting influence was that bad?" Beau shot back, giving himself a moment to take in the lengths that Larrimore was taking and had already taken just because he had discovered Beau's one little white lie. While it had definitely been less than ideal, he had hoped time and distance would have lessen this. Taking a heavy breath, Beau's hands would both move to grip the sword as his eyes focused in on his former friend. "Larrimore. Guess I get to be the knight today."
Ulla felt like she was caught as she could merely open her eyes slightly to see who it was. "B-Brian thank you..." She said with the best smile she could put out. She felt weak. But that didn't mean she couldn't help. She took out a Pokeball as her Vulpix popped out. "Velvet, help Firebrand and use Flamethrower." She said as Velvet ran next to Firebrand as she combined her Flamethrower with their Solar Beam. Thats when the hybrid Luxray came out of no where. Being on the defensive side, she tried to stand but noticed the uniform he was wearing. Snagem. "...Who are you?"
Leon looked over where Ulla and Brian were. Thankfully, he bought Brian enough time to catch his sister. He sighed of relief as he noticed his smoke and poison smog started to dissipate. "Doesn't matter what kind of fancy rocks you have. I won from the moment you messed with my sister." He said in a calm manner as Ulla's Mimikyu popped out from Leon's shirt. Leon then gently pulled out Miki from his shirt as he held out his hand to it as it gave Leon his sister's artifact. He now understood why Ulla gave her Pokemon this, as he pulled out the star from her artifact. He remembered she kept it there for safekeeping. He then placed the star in his armband and gave Miki back Ulla's artifact. "Stay in my shirt it's safer in there." He said as he Miki went right back into his shirt.
Leon then watched as the Shadow Ball cam directly at him. "Koffing Dynamax!" He said as he returned his Poison Pokemon back into her Pokeball. The Pokeball then started growing twice its size as Leon tossed it right behind him. The shadow ball started to get closer to him as he then made another gash to his hand but instead of smoke, it was more of a thick liquid as the splash collided with the Shadow Ball. Smoke came from collision as Leon was now on top of the large Koffing that was floating in the air. "...Alola. Max Ooze." Leon said as the Dynamaxed Koffing started glowing as poison started pouring out of his holes and more poison sludge started spewing out of the ground around Kalana and her Pokemon. Leon took a deep breath in as he held his arms out directing all the Poison were to go to her and any other enemy teams around them. Trying not to put any harm on his sister's health as she was already in no condition as it was.
Ulla watched all of this happen as her vision started to go dark. Her concern for her brother grew as her own fairy energy started to pour out. Her fear of him loosing himself struck her. What happens if he goes to a dark place...and isn't able to get back out? "N-No...Leon is strong. He made a promise to Sub. He wouldn't go down that path..." She said to herself as she remembered what he was saying to Kalana. It ensured her, that he would never loose himself that way. Even if he did, she would be there. "That's my big brother..." She said as she was fighting to stay conscious. As she was, she heard a familiar cry as she looked up as she saw Miki falling from the sky. Shocked, Ulla mustered all the strength she could as she ran towards Miki falling. "Miki shadow sneak!" She yelled out as the doll Pokemon turned into a shadow jumping from one shadow to the other until it got to it's trainer. Miki then got out of the shadows and wrapped its shadow arm around Ulla's weak body around her. Miki quickly put Ulla's artifact back in her hair to help her get better.
"Right. Lapras, if it's okay, I'd rather you go back in the ball for now so you can-" Cera wanted to finish that sentence, but Lapras' other plans seemed to include constantly using Ice Beam in front of herself to propel herself out of the water and along the ground, with the ice she slid around on helping to calm the burns she suffered earlier. "...relax and recover... okay, fine, you don't have to go back in there," she finished, shaking her head and floating off after Lapras.
Once she caught up with the others, she was about to try and get to Sub- feeling his energy signature underwater for some reason- but would take pause when she noticed another hybrid that seemed to be isolated from the rest. And didn't seem to be a threat either. Though they felt very faintly like they should be familiar, they also felt completely foreign. Like this wasn't the world they were from, though the notion didn't make much sense. Still, if they were in the tournament by chance and weren't hostile... she'd need to be quick, though, it wasn't like Sub could afford to stay underwater.
"Hey! Wait!" She'd branch off from Lapras' path upon noticing them walking away, hoping to catch up. "Whoever you are, don't leave just yet!"
Amaranth would barely notice her Dodrio's attack being utterly ineffective after her whole stunt in keeping Freth safe, also noting the apparent interaction with ice. She'd have to go for a different plan to attack, but the bright light of the Confuse Ray was quick to blind and disorient her, leaving her a bit of a sitting duck for it. "Gah!"
She'd be able to regain her bearings- or at least her sight- after a moment, but by then, it was seeing the Draco Meteor on its way towards imminent impact. She couldn't get away in time or do much more than brace herself too, diving to the ground in an effort to keep herself from being sent flying by it or anything. Her effort wasn't fruitful, but it did keep her from going as far from the impact, rolling along the ground aside. Much as she wished she had a Cheri Berry or something to get Freth back on her feet, she wasn't in much better shape.
Not that this meant she couldn't do something, slowly getting back to her feet after a moment and brandishing the hammer artifact from earlier. "We'll see about missing again," she remarked, slamming the hammer down to kick up as much dirt and dust as she could; she was pretty sure even for an artifact, it was probably well suited to hammer things. "Swift, Pursuit!" Hoping to provide a suitable bit of cover, her Dodrio would rush at the hybrid again, this time with a bit of dark energy fueling the attack.
"Freth, if you've got any other attacks you can still use at range, now would be good to try those!" She wasn't sure what could really be done with the whole paralysis issue, but she knew she couldn't defend both of them for too long.
It'd be at this point that Freth might catch a glimpse of something coming towards them, behind where the hybrid was. Upon closer inspection as they continued to approach, it looked to be that this was where Cera's Lapras decided to go. With whatever dirt Amaranth kicked up from her swing, she wouldn't be able to really see all too well.
Isolated from the rest of the fighting or the others approaching, Sol had managed the mild fortune of being able to scout around seemingly undetected. Something hadn't totally seemed right about the situation, like there was a source for it. He'd search around, trying to keep distant from the other fights in hopes of seeing if he could isolate whoever- or whatever- was orchestrating this. If there was anyone or anything that was beyond "nah let's take those Snagem punks out."
The hybrid had barely taken a bite into her pastry when she heard someone yelling out, potentially to her? She turned her head to the side to take a look at least, and noticed the little pink Pokémon heading her way, clearly looking at her. Silently, she cursed her luck and turned around to face the Mew, crouching down to bring the height distance at least a little bit shorter, as if a tall wall didn’t make the gesture almost irrelevant. “Uh, hi. Can I help you with something,” she’d ask after finishing her bite of the pastry. “If you’re heading to help the jumped party over there, you might want to hurry over and help them out.” If she could, she was hoping to get out of this without much more interaction with anyone from Snagem. The hybrid had just gotten here, and while she did have questions for the Mew, she really didn’t want to have any meaningful interactions just yet with the major players of this reality. Something was telling her that she wasn’t going to get her way this time, though.
[Sub's battle against Zinnia.]
It all happened so fast that Sub didn’t know exactly what happened, not at first. Floating just above the bottom of the lake his thoughts began to collect things. They were ambushed, by several individuals, a good portion of them Channelers and Hybrids. Before he could react to this turn of events he was swept up off the ground by a Salamance and he caught a glimpse of its trainer, most importantly the Key Stone on their anklet. Whoever attacked him wasn’t anyone to scoff at, that much he could deduce. Thankful for his training with Team Aqua he began to look around underwater, to see if there was anything useful down here to take his enemy by surprise, that was when he spotted it on the lake bed, tangled up in some vines, its light covered in mud, a Roto-drone. It was strange how the things he needed always seemed to pop up, wasn’t it?
“Good job, Salamence.” The trainer complimented the dragon as it landed beside her, the girl’s tattered cape fluttering in the breeze created by the winged beast. Stroking the side of its body first the girl began to approach the lake to check things out, the Salamence following close behind. She knew good and well the Snagem leader wasn’t going to be taken out that easy, which was exactly why she was chosen to target him. Arriving at the edge of the lake she folded her arms and waited, he’d come out soon.
A flash of purple light would come from the lake followed up by a black three headed dragon rocketing out of the lake with a savage roar, the dragon stopping its ascent suddenly once it was out of the water and immediately locked eyes with the Salamence, roaring at it now. Followed up by the Hydreigon came Sub, less gracefully removing himself from the lake as he crawled out, quickly standing up once he noticed the trainer standing directly in front of him. Wiping the water out of his face he was quick to fire off the Trainer’s Eyes from his Challenger’s Band at the girl, though she made no attempts to dodge or block nor seemed bothered by this sudden action, instead just watched as the dome of energy formed around them.
“I know this is a competition but that felt kind of personal. Usually when people drop me from elevated heights it’s because I did something to agitate them. So, what’s your story?” Sub questioned the trainer, stealing a glance of Valdemar, the dragon seemed particularly agitated, more so than usual. Maybe it was just fired up for its first battle in a long time.
“My name is Zinnia. I have no quarrel with you, nor your people. I’m only here to stop certain parties from destroying themselves. So, as you can see my goals are urgent. Just surrender and spare your Pokemon the suffering.” The Dragon trainer said, the Keystone on his anklet shimmering at just the right moment as if it emphasized exactly what kind of power she had backing up her unspoken ultimatum.
Eying the Keystone for a bit Sub looked up and into the woman’s eyes and then smiled. “Dragon Pulse.” He simply proclaimed, issuing the command to Valdemar, standing there with a cocky grin as he awaited the prompt blast of draconic energy to slam into her Salamence. Except, it never came. Both Zinnia and Sub stared at each other for awhile, confused for different reasons. It was Zinnia who would pierce the awkward silence first. “Hydreigon aren’t the easiest of dragons to tame, it’s okay.” She commented. Sub would look back and find his Hydreigon splashing around in the lake fishing for a meal, soon finding a Goldeen and swallowing it whole. This was embarrassing.
“Valdemar! You can eat later! Now come on we-” The dragon would cut off its trainer as Sub approached it, all three heads turning around and angrily roaring in his face. A sense of fear washed over Sub, causing him to step back. This has never happened before, Valdemar had never disobeyed him, let alone threaten him like this. For the first time in his decades of training Dark types this was the first time he could sense their natural ability to instill fear into others. What was going on?
“I guess if you can’t battle that means-” Zinnia would be cut off by Sub this time as he quickly tossed out a Pokeball and released his Pelipper, the man then pointing at her Salamence and giving an order as the rain began to fall thanks to Drizzile. “Hurricane!” He ordered. He still wasn’t sure what this thing could do but he figured Hurricane would be the most powerful and safest move he could order. Thankfully it did know that as the Pelipper began to flap its wings with great vigor, commanding the storm and turning it into a fierce slashing gale which washed over Salamence, the dragon letting out a pained grunt as it attempted to hold its ground against the storm.
Seeing that the battle was now underway, Zinnia decided to step things up and end this as soon as possible as she activated her Keystone, the Mega Stone on Salamence’s neck glowing, causing the Pokemon to Mega Evolve in a bright show light. Once the process was over she gave the order to retaliate. “Return.” She ordered. Summoning forth the love of its trainer Salamence became cloak in white energy which soon turned light blue and then much larger as its Aerilate ability activated. Sub’s eyes would go wide as he knew what this meant and there was nothing he could do as the Mega Salamence rocketed off the ground and slammed into Pelipper, sending it flying over his head, over Valdemar’s and splashing into the lake.
Sub was quick to run to the lake’s shore to check up on Pelipper but alas it was knocked out from just that. Zinnia and her Pokemon were close, very close. Grinding his teeth he recalled Pelipper. This wasn’t good, all he had was Hans the Eevee, there was no way he could beat her with him. If only Valdemar, who was still feasting, would obey. Maybe if he got his fill he would calm down. It was worth a shot, he just needed to buy time. That was when he saw another Pokemon, just lazily floating on its back in the lake like none of this was happening. That one would do. Fishing a Pokeball out of his backpack he readied for a capture.
“Hello? We’re still battling. Do you want to give up now?” Zinnia asked, wondering what was taking Sub so long that she had began to walk his way with Mega Salamence behind her. Before she could get close enough to see what he was doing he tossed out another Pokeball, revealing his fresh capture, Croagunk. The frog was ready to battle, not a hint of resistance to Sub’s commands to be found.
“You...just caught that. Really? This is the feared Snagem leader I’ve heard so much about? I was told you were a trainer without comparison. But you can’t even keep your own dragon in line and are now resigned to using freshly captured Pokemon. This is disappointing…” Zinnia declared.
“Whatever.” Sub scowled. She did make a good point though. What was going on? He can tame legends. “”Croagunk, Fake Out and jump on it!” He ordered. With a Croagunk the frog would rush towards Salamence headlong, the dragon expecting a head on collusion and readying for it until the frog stopped suddenly, sprang forward, and clapped its hands on either side of its face, causing the dragon to flinch. Not stopping there the frog then proceeded to jump on Mega Salamence’s back and held on tight. Salamence appeared too dazed to do anything about it though. “Well if you two aren’t going to do anything, Poison Jab!” Sub ordered, Croagunk proceeding to stab its free hand into the dragon’s back over and over.
“Hm, annoying. Salamence, Fly.” Zinnia ordered. Mega Salamence would let out a prideful roar and like a rocket took off and up into the sky, Croagunk stopping its assault as it now needed both hands to hold on tight. Salamence would reach a certain height where Croagunk couldn’t hear Sub’s commands through the rain. After hanging up there for awhile the two would begin their violent and very quick descent back to Earth, dropping at terminal velocity. Poor Croagunk would try to hold on but alas it would lose its grip and fly off of the back of the Salamence which veered inches away from the ground, the dragon landing with grace. Croagunk’s landing would be much harsher as it slammed against the hard ground, rolling a few times before coming to a stop, knocked out cold from the ride.
The man would sigh as he saw his new Pokemon dispatched so easily, though not surprised. He looked at the Mega Salamence and noted that it had been poisoned by the Poison Jab but it wouldn’t be enough, not if each of his Pokemon got knocked out so quickly. Recalling Croagunk he stashed the ball away and gripped Hans’ Dusk Ball. If only he had evolved already. Last night the Eevee almost did. He had gotten up in the middle of the night to use the restroom to find his cuddle buddy, Hans, awake as well and staring at the moon. The two shared a moment together in silence as they gazed at the celestial body and that was when it started to happen. Hans began to glow, transform, he could see his ears getting longer and his tail more dense and then...nothing. It just stopped. The two had both been confused by the entire thing but both were too tired to question it. In fact Sub had just chalked it up to exhaustion but now today he was questioning it more. Hans failed to evolve into Umbreon and now Valdemar, his Hydreigon, wasn’t obeying him. Were they connected somehow?
Gripping the ball he prepared to throw out the man could just hope that Hans would put up a fight long enough. With a whisper he apologized to Hans ahead of time and tossed the ball out, the device popping open to reveal…
“Mimikyuuu!” Cried Nope as he appeared from the ball, stretching his ghostly arm out to try and intimidate Mega Salamence. Wait, Nope!? Where did that…thing come from!? Where is Hans!?
“Agh! Nope! It’s you! Nope, nope, nope! You vile cretin! As if things couldn’t get worse now you’re here to torture-” Sub started to freak out and panic over the appearance of Nope the Mimikyu, but his rambling was cut off when the Mimikyu went straight into battle, throwing its self at the Mega Salamence and racking it across the face with a Shadow Claw, the dragon letting out a pained roar and reeling backwards.
Confused Sub just stood back and watched, Zinnia ordering Mega Salamence to retaliate with a Dragon Claw, Mega Salamence swatting at the Pikachu imposter, sending it flying violently as it hit the ground tumbling and yet the Mimikyu got right back up, the head of its Disguise broken. With a hiss at Salamence it scurried back over to Sub’s side, standing in front of him and readying itself for another Shadow Claw as it stretched its appendage out. That was when Sub realized that Nope was actually trying to protect and help him.
“Nope, wait.” He called out to the Pokemon, who lowered its ghostly armed and looked back at him confused. “I’m sorry about running away from you all the time. I...look it’s going to take some getting used to but for now let’s forget about all that, Nope.” He said, the Mimikyu cooing happily, that’s when something dawned on him. “You need a name, a real name. I’ll call you...Anteros. Like it?” He asked, Mimikyu bouncing happily. “Anteros! Let’s go down swinging! Play Rough!”
With a shriek Anteros would rush and jump on Mega Salamence, slashing and clawing away at its hide from any direction it could, the beast letting out roars in agony, the Super Effective move really doing a number and coupled with the Poison flowing through its body it was having a really hard time bearing it all. Zinnia could tell even her Mega Evolved Pokemon was starting to feel winded and knew she needed to end this now. “Salamence, Fly.”
Just like before Mega Salamence would shoot up to the heavens and then come dropping back down to Earth at breakneck speeds, Anteros finding it impossible to hold on forever as he fell off and slammed onto the ground violently, tumbling and rolling to a stop in a muddy puddle as the rain on its motionless form.
“Anteros!” Sub called out, running over to his Pokemon, kneeling down and for the first time touching the creature that has plagued him so much, cradling it in his arms. The Mimikyu would look up at Sub and whine, not knocked out but very close.
“Please, surrender. You can’t defeat us. You’re only causing your Pokemon to suffer.” Zinnia declared.
Sub would look at her, then at her Mega Salamence, and back at Anteros. In that moment it was as if the Pokemon could read his mind and he could its. Neither one of them wanted to give up, they could still fight, they will still fight. Nodding at Anteros he would set the Mimikyu on the ground and stand up himself, the two glaring at Zinnia and Mega Salamence through the rain. “Nah, we’re gluttons for punishment so keep it coming. Anteros! Let’s go down fighting! Play Rough!” Sub shouted, Anteros letting out an excited squeal.
At that moment something happened, the Z-Ring built into Sub’s Snag Machine began to glow and yet there was no crystal in it, at least not before. Now there was a dull yellow crystal implanetd in it that he had never seen before. Where did it come from? Did Anteros put it there? The crystal, Mimikium Z, would respond to their bond and begin to glow brightly, the energy flowing from it and into Anteros. Bathed in Z energy Anteros would rush Mega Salamence with a wild glint in its eyes and pounce upon it, its fabric disguise expanding to drap over and completely cover Mega Salamence, Zinnina only able to look on with shock and surprise. The next thing any of them knew there was some obvious fighting going on inside of Anteros’ massive disguise and the only sounds that could be heard were Anteros’ happy squeals and Salamence’s roars of pain.
When it was all over Anteros would shrink back down to size and jump off of the Mega Salamence who was now on the ground knocked out cold, the colored washed off its face as if it saw something it shouldn’t had before it had fainted. The dragon trainer did not react right away, instead was paralyzed by shock over what in the world just happened. When it all finally registered to her she recalled her Pokemon, stowing the ball away and then looking at the only other ball on her belt, one that contained a tiny little Pokemon, her best friend in the world.
“I forfeit.” She declared loudly, both Sub and Mimikyu taken by surprise. A Roto-drone would soon appeared and Zinnia began to walk over towards it as the Trainer’s Eyes dome began to lower.
“Wait! Why? You still have a Pokemon.” Sub asked, Anteros now in his arms. Zinnia would look to the ball in question for a moment and then back at Sub.
“That one is more than a Pokemon to me. Besides, I wishto prevent as much suffering as I can in this world and my own. You should as well. Goodbye, Dark One.” With that Zinnia teleported away with the drone, leaving Sub and Anteros standing in the rain to think about everything that just happened.What did she mean by that anyways? As the rain began to fade the man was reminded of his Hydreigon which was now fast asleep with a full belly. With a sigh he approached and recalled the beast. That will be a problem he’ll have to deal with later, for now he had his friends to help. “Come on, Anteros. We’re still in this.” The Mimikyu would let out a happy squeal and the two then proceeded to head straight towards the rest of the fighting.
Now that Azure was out, Keiko let her stay out of her ball since she'd been in it for a while, and the Azumarill followed Stasy as their trainer ran out into the battlefiled, searching for one person in particular.
When Keiko saw the scattered mess of Snagems and enemies, something inside told her Ulla was there and that her adoptive daughter was in trouble. She didn't know how to put that feelings into words, but she didn't need to. Instead, with strength that didn't make sense considering how tired her body was, Keiko ran out into the fray. "Ulla!" she called out, worried that she wouldn't get a response. Suddenly, something caught her eye - a Mimikyu falling to the earth only to suddenly flicker as if in and out of reality. Confused, she followed its erratic movement as the Mimikyuu landed in its trainer's arms.
"There you are!" Keiko yelped, running toward Ulla. Her worn-out body finally caught up with her, though, and she had to stop just in front of the young Snagem to catch her breath, which gave her an opportunity to sense the energy leaking from her daughter. "Are you okay? Your energy feels kinda off."
Kalana quickly spun around as Deo approached, the Ground Channeler caught off guard by the new arrival and only had enough time to conjure up a small glob of sand in front of his fist to defend, the force of his punch destroying the blob and sending sand spraying into the woman’s eyes. Next came Deo’s attempt to pick her up, which was successful, the woman then thrown. Golurk would see its trainer in distress and abandon its fight with Brian’s Pokemon to rocket over and catch its trainer. However this only made it an easy target as Firebrand blasted the automaton out of the sky with a powerful Solar Beam, also coupled and fueled by Velvet’s Flamethrower, the Pokemon and its trainer crashing onto the ground with a violent thud.
Next came Leon and Dynamaxing his Koffing, the gas bag becoming giant, Kalana looking up in horror at the giant creature. When the Max Ooze was ordered Kalana attempted to summon Sandygast to her side to protect her but as soon as its little shovel appeared Ryan had James snip the Sandygast immediately and while its Water Compaction activated it was enough to delay and distract Sandygast in time for the Max Ooze to hit both Pokemon and trainer, the poisonous sludge washing over them and the immediately area. By the time the ooze receded it would be seen that both were knocked out, a Roto-drone arriving to take Kalana and her Pokemon away, a Wishing Star dropped in front of Leon’s feet for his victory.
The Dragapult growled as the dust was kicked up and Dodrio came flying out of it swinging and pecking the Dark type Pursuit empowered blows stinging the dragon something fierce. When it found a moment to attack the hybrid would solidify its tail and smack the Dodrio away with a Breaking Swipe. With that taken care of the hybrid turned back to the vulnerable Amaranth and Freth, her Dreepy returning to her side. Deciding it was time to end this she prepared another Draco Meteor, choosing not to conceal it this time as she charged up. That was when a strange pink mist crept up behind the hybrid. At first she didn’t notice it, it wasn’t until she was breathing it in and it caused her to hack and gag, falling to her knees, did the hybrid realize she was surrounded by a cloud of pink ‘dust’. The woman would try to go intangible to slip away through the ground but found that she was unable to, then noting her Dreepy was knocked out cold.
“Oh dear, ma cheri. Didn’t see us coming, did you?” Madame Lutine called out as she appeared from the cloud of pink, wearing a Team Kalos uniform and an Aromatisse at her side. The hybrid would feebly claw in her direction as she gasped, but it was no use. “Ma cheri, it’s over. My fragrance has robbed you of your strength. Don’t feel too bad though, very few can overcome my...trappings, let alone a dragon like you.” She said with a smile, kneeling down to plant a kiss on the confused hybrid’s forehead, the Dragapult hybrid then promptly falling over, knocked out cold. Guess that wasn’t a regular kiss. The hybrid would soon be teleported away by a Roto-drone, Madame Lutine picking up the left behind Wishing Star and tossing it towards Freth and Amaranth.
“Here, mes cheris, I already have one. Consider this a favor for the Noble Hybrid.” She said, turning her attention towards Freth, looking her up and down for a bit before speaking. “Hm, you’re a lucky lady, madame. Your homme is...seduisant. Next time you see give him my love. I’ll always treasure our time in Kalos.” With that said to Freth she walked off.
The Pinsir was taken by surprise by Beau’s movements and the next thing he knew he was a face full of flames and the resulting explosion from the ignited Powder, force of which would knock Larrimore on his back. After padding himself down a bit and regaining his breath Larrimore would pick himself off, his face having seen better days. Looking at the sword for a moment he met Beau’s gaze again. He looked like he was going to say something but then looked up and noted the position of the sun. Beau might find his sudden interest in the sun odd and there would be no real explanation for it, instead Larrimore let out a sigh and pulled out three Wishing Stars from his pocket.
“These belonged to three different members of Team Kalos. Unfortunate events led to them being kicked from the tournament.” He said, tossing the Wishing Stars onto the ground in Beau’s direction. “Distribute them to those who don’t have one. The announcement for the evacuation of the Wild Area will come soon.” He told Beau, turning to walk away, stopping to once again take a look at the sword and then at Beau. “I’ll be seeing you, monsieur chevalier. Tell Sub if he needs another job done he knows how to get in touch with me.” With that said the Pinsir hybrid walked away.
A few more random members of Team Hoenn, Unova, Sinnoh, Galar, and Ranger would arrive on scene to try and back up their friends, regular trainers, but that was when the remnants of Team Kanto, Johto, Alola, and Kalos showed up to meet them in battle. The Copycat was mimicking and fighting a Plasma Grunt, Green was taking on a trainer named Brendan, Elio was battling another person from Galar with a knight theme. The fighting was remaining chaotic and wild. That was when a blimp appeared and Chairman Rose began to speak.
”Greetings trainers! The final part of the Wild Area challenge will now commence! North of here, outside of Hammerlocke gate, you will find numerous Roto-drones. These drones are unique in that they require a Wishing Star to be activated. Use your Wishing Star to activate the drones to be teleported out of the Wild Area and officially earn your place in the second round of the World Champion Cup! Don’t worry, you keep your star. Anyone without a Wishing Star after sunset will remain here in the Wild Area for the remaining portion of the tournament! So, on my mark...ready, get set...go!” Chairman Rose declared. All the gathered trainers would look at each other for a moment before taking off in a wild rush northbound.
[Everyone have your characters run north. Write out individual posts detailing their way there, such as wild Pokemon that get in their way, random trainers from other teams that try to slow them down, weather, etc. Just write it out kind of like a little mini-mission and have them get to a drone, activate it with their Wishing Piece, and teleport out. If only one of your character has a Wishing Star that is fine, so long as everyone has at least one character that teleports out. For any other questions, such as permission to have a certain character show up, just ask me.]
Hearing the voice from the roto-drones and hearing the challenge will be to head north ASAP, he then quickly sprints north. A rookie trainer tries to stop him, only for him to be unheard and he jumps out of the way... straight into a pond. Proceeding ahead at a full sprint, he then proceeded with a big jump over another small pond. Where two trainers stopped because he did an Olympic grade long jump and he is STILL running. He then reaches the roto-drone, but then he stops and waits for a fellow team mate to catch up to him, he was fast after all though...
Brian looked at Ulla when the girl looked up at him, thanking him for catching her. "Leon and Keiko would have killed me had I let ye hit the ground," he joked a bit, nodding. Looking at the fight, he couldn't help grinning a bit when Kalana got a faceful of sand when the Luxray hybrid punched straight through the sand she'd raised to defend herself, before the Luxray picked her up and physically threw her. It was made even better when the Golurk, seeing his trainer in trouble, left off its attack to save her, which opened it up to Firebrand's Solarbeam, coupled with Velvet's Flamethrower. Thankfully, this almost put Golurk out of commission; it only took Leon's Max Ooze to fully end the battle. It was right then that Keiko appeared, with Lu right behind her. "Well done, Lu," Brian said, when the Riolu stopped next to him. Lu gave a happy smile when her trainer ruffled her head gently.
He was about to go and tend to Firebrand when a blimp appeared, and Chairman Rose's voice boomed over the area. Apparently, they were supposed to head north, toward Hammerlock gate, to be able to move on to the next stage of the tournament. Hearing this, Brian walked over to Firebrand and stopped for a moment. "Well done, Firebrand," he said, giving the Fire-type a smile. "If not for ye, we might not have made it as far as we have." The Magmortar was a little confused by Brian's words. His old trainer never praised him for anything, even when they won a battle. He wasn't sure how to react to this trainer's words, other than to nod once. Seeing this, Brian recalled the Magmortar, who didn't resist, then looked at Lu, holding out his hand to allow her to jump onto his shoulders.
Ryan and Orth nod in approval, seeing their efforts help swing the tide of battle. It was not too long after that, that the announcement would come down. Ryan looks at Orth and calls out James. "Come on! We finish this as a trio!" Ryan says and his pokemon roar in approval.
The trio makes their way across the Wild Region, ignoring the bridges and crossing over water to show off wherever they could. Ryan, James, and Orth looked like kids playing on a summer day in their run to the Roto-Drones.
This part of the tourney was over, and the next part lay ahead, but with all the good fortune that had come Ryan's way, he felt lighter than air. But he knew that he had to temper his confidence once the day was over. The next stage would be a whole new challenge. Ryan slides to a stop in front of a drone. He takes a deep breath before yelling out "TA-PU LE-LE AHHHHHHHHH!" and activating the drone, teleporting him away. If the tourney wasn't aware of this son of Alola, they were now.
