Life had been good for the unicorn, and after reuniting with Kaiya, the stallion had found his heart at peace. His life had been blessed, and though there was much yet to be done in the world, he found that his calling had changed. He had always wondered what might happen if Kaiya called upon him--and now that she had, he had found himself on a far different path. There was more silver in his mane these days, and the knowledge he had gained traveling the world, was now shared with those that wished to hear it.

Some sought him out for stories or tales of his heroic deeds, others sought him out to be trained in the art of healing, and others still looked to him to pass down the art of defense. In some cases-like his current ward--he was teaching a little of all three.

"Steady lad! You're so focused on what's happening in front of you, you're forgetting to defend the rear!" Galahad leaned down to give a small n** at the small mini who had charged him, even as he dodged out of the way.

Still, Galahad was proud at the change in the young stallion. With his children long-since-grown, and his life relatively settled, Galahad found that his true calling was teaching and training. He might not be able to save the world, but he could make sure that others knew how to defend and serve. Might for right would always be his motto, and he would make sure that the Kawani was filled with those of a much higher and greater purpose.

He was no angeni, but he did what he could, with what he'd been given, and trusted the spirits. They had provided him with everything he needed, and he knew, they would do the same with those that came after. No matter what was asked of him, no matter how challenging the task--Galahad would always be here to serve.

It was all well and good for the positively giant Galahad to tell him what he was forgetting, but Adel was doing the best that he could. In fact, it was all he could do to do this well! Frustrated, the little usdia gave a kick with both back hooves - and connected with thin air. Drooping, he tried to turn to n** at the warrior and again, connected with thin air.

"Look, this isn't going to work! You're ten times bigger than I am!" Well, maybe that was an exaggeration but it didn't feel like one. He'd felt sure that he had the advantage in speed but somehow even there Galahad seemed to always anticipate his every move. What was he supposed to do?

Galahad did indeed evade the young stallion's attack--but instead of trying again, the young stallion was nothing but frustrated. The stallion debated continuing the assault--a temper tantrum in the midst of battle would serve no one. Certainly, there were many who might encourage him to carry forth and finish the training.

But Galahad wasn't so heartless, and they were not in the middle of a war. Instead, he paused in his assault, and gave a small shake of his head. "I might have an advantage in terms in being larger, but you are not without your own strengths. You have horns--and more than one. Your stature makes you difficult to reach--I need to lean down to try to take a n** or bite. And unlike a taller opponent, you won't so easily lose your feet." Honestly, all it would take was connecting to one of his legs, and Galahad would be in trouble.

That much force to a knee would give any full-sized an issue.

"I promise--you have everything you need to win this fight. Patience is what you currently lack. Take your time. Think about your approach." Adel would become stronger the more they worked, and speed would come with practice. He believed in the young mini--but Adel didn't believe in himself.

It didn't feel as though he had everything he needed to succeed. Not when Galahad was so cursed fast! "... I don't think that's going to make a difference," he groused, plainly tired of failing at this exercise. They'd been at this for awhile and he was no closer to victory than he'd ever been. Lowering his head, he charged right at Galahad, with no sign of slowing down or stopping.

Galahad almost let the young stallion get him--but once more, evaded the attack. No, as much as part of him wanted to soothe the young mini's distress, he knew that giving in would be no better. It just meant the young stallion would need to keep working. "You'll get there, Adel. I promise. You just need to stick with it." This time, Galahad turned, lowering his head so he might charge the mini in a counter attack.

How many times had he lost to Crousader? Or Tiernan? Or Seresei? What about the battles with Kaiya that had gone not as planned. While he'd never lost his life, he sported many scars, and not all were from victorious battles. "Victory is never guaranteed, son. But a willingness to face the foe, even when outmatched, or to keep trying, even when things look bleak, is an important part of being a great knight."

So Adel tried again, watching for a moment when Galahad didn't seem to be paying as much attention. Unfortunately, when he charged at the stallion he only got so far as his knees. How... exactly... was he supposed to duck underneath the stallion when he was moving so much? "It's not working."
