I hope everyone has been well these past few years.
A lot has changed since I first opened Tendaji back in 2011. Our rotating team of artists and managers helped create a world that expanded well beyond my expectations. Our owners and players found new ways to explore the world I created and told stories that made us laugh and cry. Lately, I've found myself looking back at the spirit and energy that helped build Tendaji into the shop it is today.
After careful consideration and a great conversation with Nilah and Sabra, I'm excited to share that I'm coming back to Gaia and stepping back into the role as Owner of Tendaji!
I'm not the person I was when I created this shop almost 9 years ago. Many of us have changed and the way we interact with Gaia has changed. Therefore, I will be taking the next two+ months to take a fresh perspective on how Tendaji is set up as a shop. My goal is to create an experience that is easier to manage both for the staff and the players.
Things got a bit complicated. So we're going back to our roots.
I'm already so excited with the direction we're moving. Things will be a little different and I want to be transparent and share with you a few of our ideas:
- The use of a growing variety of bases for early-staged characters.
The battle system is being replaced with DnD-style adventures.
Crafting and taming systems are being phased out.
Familiars are being phased out (but we still have a beast master class).
Shops are being phased out.
Growth requirements are being adjusted.
Additionally, we will be fully combining with our sister-shop, Kahikina. More details on that to follow!
My hope that with these changes, you'll join me on this new journey with Tendaji 3.0.
