THE FAMILY!

Mother:

Symphony makes the best (or worst) nanny depending on which wolf you ask. She genuinely loves pups, and sees them more as her playmates than wards. Mind your boys, this one loves the males - as she's often in search of a mate. And of course, it doesn't take much convincing from her sisters to do anything even if it garners trouble.
Her familiar, Thackery, oftens plays the voice of reason with her. Though more often than not, his words are lost in the wind and she's already barreled forward.
It's often said that Symphony dances to her own beat, as though she's the only one that can hear the tune. She's easily distracted and often has to be reigned back into focus by her siblings. Symph has many odd quirks, but probably the most notable is her obsession with toe 'beans'! 'Even a broken clock is right twice a day' holds very true for this wolf, there is an intelligence behind those ditzy distant eyes (sometimes)!
Symphony utterly adores pups, and play. She often doesn't think before she acts, which has led to many misunderstandings when a little one is found in her company after dark. To her, it was just an adventure...to others, a pup-napping. It also doesn't help that some of these 'adventures' were encouraged by her sisters.

Father:
User Image
Shadowfire is a good boy. He listens to his parents, cleans his paws before and after every meal, makes sure to be home before "curfew" (which is basically whenever he promises he'll be home), and doesn't get involved in conflict unless necessary. He walks a fine line between being cautious and vigilant yet open-minded and friendly. Overall though, he's a big goofball who just wants to enjoy friends and family.

Grandmother:

Aunt:

Manipulative, vicious, and vindictiveā€”Red was born to be a tyrant and relishes any opportunity to abuse her power over others. She is wicked and cruel and it would be smart to avoid her hot-temper. In fact, the only wolf that isnā€™t shown these aspects of her character is her alpha; she is sickly-sweet in his presence.
Red considers herself the leader of the sisters' trio (Clever Tracker and Symphony). A role she refuses to share. Sheā€™s jealous and impatient; this wolf can be quite unpleasant to those that cross her. One of her greatest joys is scheming with her sisters to unleash mischief every chance they get.
Perhaps ironically, Red has chosen the vocation of healer. She believes the lands of the swamp are truly blessed and beneficial for a healthy life, especially for her. The she-wolf will swear to you that a good swamp-mud facial will do you wonders, smooth out wrinkles, and bring color back to those grey hairs. Red can be found working alongside the healers making potions, medical ointments, and the occasional poison (shh, donā€™t tell).

Aunt:
User Image
Clever is a determined tracker, she loves to follow and scent and find whatever her sister Red sends her to find. She is very codependent to Red and Symphony. She fully believes in spirits and spooky stuff and she loves yummy treats.

CURRENT PLOT POINTS:
1. Symphony and Shadowfire happened upon each other randomly one day. The two frolicked and played, making fast friends and, interestingly, something more.
2. Symphony will take at least 1 of the pups, maybe 2 or all, to the Swamp Lurkers where she will raise them. Shadowfire may or may not be around at this point in time.
3. Shadowfire and Symphony will likely continue to meet up on and off throughout the litter's puphood, so there is very high chance they will know their father and maybe the grandparents.
4. Shadowfire will eventually wish to stay with Symphony and his pups in the Swamp Lurkers, choosing to join the pack. The two have potential to grow into permanent mates at this point.

The Time's Come to Play

Name: Shadow Siren Sanderson (ALL THE S's!)
Personality Blurb: Firstborn of Symphony she may be, but Shadow Siren appears closer in personality to her Aunt Red at first. Too clever for her own good and with a thirst for power, she has no qualms about manipulating, blackmailing, and otherwise forcing her way around--subtly, if she can, and by her own paws if she can't. She believes she knows how to read others better than anyone else and is hypersensitive to the nuances and silent language couching words, adjusting her own demeanor and phrasing on the go. Of course, when things go wrong it's never her fault; her pride is easily wounded, much as she tries to hide it, so someone else must take the blame.

But after all, is she not spirit-touched? Is her mother not the most beautiful spirit given flesh you've ever seen? Next to herself, of course. You should listen to Shadow Siren, friend. The power of souls runs in her blood, and the songs she sings would make even the hardest of hearts break.

Shadow Siren has a love of song and dance, believing them to have powers in their own right like the spirits do over nature. Her versions tend to be softer, however, more enticing in an attempt to lure others in, and rarely as a means of actually expressing herself. This pup fashions herself as her namesake, happy to play with males as toys or use as she feels. Girls, however...ah, those are to be treasured far more, teased and pranked but never harmed. Males run a much higher risk of that, being a dime a dozen as far as she's concerned. Only her brothers seem safe from these misandry-leaning ways (and possibly her father, depending), though she's keen on staying on top and reminding them of it if they get too uppity.

Secretly she longs to take a partner like her mother, but her wily and mischievous ways will make it hard to pin down someone long enough. It's possible she may take on multiple as well. It also doesnā€™t help that Shadow Siren grapples with her harder, power-seeking side versus her softer, wanting love side. She doesn't yet believe it's possible to be anything worthwhile in the world without being a little cruel about it.
Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Y!! So I can finally have a baby there
What plots do you see for this little lady?:
  • Rank Ascension: Unsure of how it would work, but Shadow Siren is eyeing a beta slot. She feels she has the right qualities: a commanding air, a sharp mind, and some blessings of the spirits on top of that. Until then, she might take after Aunt Clever and become a scout (unless plotting somehow allows a straight to the top shoot which I doubt lmao). Her angle either way is that Shadow Siren believes she can commune through rituals to speak to the spirits and will obtain a "magic wand" (stick) carved with runes similar to her mother's that will act as her conduit.

  • Meddling: As part of her search for power, Shadow Siren could get involved with the alpha's kids and/or the berserkers recently added to the pack. She's not above acting charming to get her way, although it'd be funny to have her accidentally start crushing on one or two oops.

  • Siren's Call: Shadow Siren's singing can lure in potential pack members as an rp prompt. She doesn't quite have Symphony's loving touch for pups, but she carries the same sort of natural draw for strangers. Pupnapping can happen as well when she's older if she feels they'd fit into the Swamplurkers. Who she pupnaps can lead to further drama, especially if it's from another pack.

  • Call to Expand: Whether or not she gets into the beta slot, Shadow Siren will be a voice of expanding the pack's borders to ensure every mouth is fed. This can lead to more skirmishes w/outsiders or nearby packs for drama.

  • FRANS: Somehow, Shadow Siren meets someone that makes her...relaxed. Even enough to be an actual kid? Not a schemin' lil fox? More shades of her mother will show up in her playfulness, which will cause the pup to wonder if this is more her true self than the front she puts up. After all, around these specific wolves/familiars, sheā€™s softer, maybe more normalā€”and itā€™s not tiring. But it is vulnerable to be, and she hates it so.

  • Regarding Dear Dad: If Symphony shows heart eyes about Shadowfire, you can bet Shadow Siren will be pushing her and her sire together like two dolls. KISS ALREADY. If she can't find her own happiness with a mate or two, the least she can do is orchestrate her mother's.

Additional Information?: Shadow Siren does honestly buy into the whole religion in the pack regarding spirits. She also will retain her puppyhood belief that her "wand" helps her communicate with them, if maybe to a lesser extent. If nature is out of balance, one way she'll seek to appease the spirits by proposing ideas to leaders to address them. This is where the expanding territory part would come in, especially in regards to not overkilling prey while they do so. Shadow Siren will try to learn how to fight as she grows up to help this cause, possibly by seeking out the warriors and the berserkers, though she probably will never be quite as strong thanks to her slim figure.

OOCly: Essentially I'd love to pave her as one of the catalysts for the Swamplurkers to start really getting into it with other PC and NPC packs, as I remember something in the past about them wanting to eventually expand and create drama through it. She wants to be a known name and legend and is willing to be Lawful Evil about it to get things done, even if it hurts a bit.

The Time's Come to Play

Name: Harmonizing Flare Sanderson
Personality Blurb: Harmony, as she likes to be called, is the perfect daughter. How dare you think otherwise.

Polite, well mannered and more clever than she lets on, this pup strives for perfection in all aspects of her life. Some would think this makes her vain, and to an extent it does but she would never gloat or brag. It's quite unladylike, not to mention rude.

She loves to gallavant with her mother, indulging in games and adventures alike, even when she accidentally kidnaps a pup in the middle of the night. Harmony will gently remind her mother that others in the pack would see this a bad thing, but she'd never want to hurt her feelings so she may be overly gentle with Symphony.

She believes in the spirits to an extreme extent, often finding omens in world about her that may be good or bad. She's too young to interpret their meanings just yet, but she hopes to be able grow into a capable, respectable interpreter for the spirits.

Despite all her good qualities, Harmony isn't without her own 'bad bones'. She has a tendency to be selfish and sometimes she lets her perfectionist streak run too deep. Spirits help someone if they mess her up with one thing or another; she'll likely scream bloody murder as if in physical pain over whatever just happened, all pretense of being ladylike and soft will melt away. In its stead will be a frantic, babbling young she-wolf more likely to shove someone out her way than to greet them with a polite nod and gentle smile.
Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Yes!
What plots do you see for this little lady?:

Near Death: While still young, Harmony will accidentally ingest a poison (preferrably one Aunt Red made) that nearly kills her. When the antedote is administered and the pup revived, she'll be a bit... off. She'll spin tales of being embraced by Spirits, of hearing them now, at this very moment while she speaks with you. No one will be quite sure if she speaks the truth, but every so often Harmony will go deathly silent, eyes vacant as she stares off into nothing. It is in those instances she believes she hears the whisperings of spirits.

Crazy Girl: The whispers she hears will urge her on, guide her and sometimes get her into more trouble than she knows how to deal with. One such whisper will lead her out of the pack's lands when she grows. She'll meet someone that immediately thinks her odd and when she speaks with the whispers in her head, they may outright call her crazy. A perfect daughter cannot be crazy! She won't take kindly to them and may or may not decide to poison them. Just a little, enough to make them think twice about being so rude.

Shrine Keeper: After a while, Harmony will start to view herself as an omen from the spirits, a good one! She'll want to participate in every pack going-on and, in time, make her way to being one of the best Shrine Keepers the pack has ever seen. After all, a true Spirit Touched should be as involved as possible in the growth and prosperity of her pack.
Additional Information?: I'm terrible with coming up with plots without rp so if picked, I'd love some family rp (and rp in general) to come up with more possibilities for this beauty! Also thank you two so much for this contest!

      The Time's Come to Play

      Name: Fire's Hymn Sanderson
Personality Blurb: At first glance one may mistake Hymn for taking completely after her mother, with only a flake or two of her father. Hymn is kind to the naked eye. Her face often holds a smile and a set of starling blue eyes that seem to look right past you. She's lost in her own ways and thoughts, living a fantasy world of her own making. It's not uncommon for others to assume she's just ditzy, as she's slow to respond and her voice carries gently and faintly. She isn't always there, and it shows.

Hymn lives in her own world. She believes in plenty of things; fey, monsters, ghosts, magic. All things a wolf within her pack might be expected to believe in. She's a Swamp Lurker, after all! And yet she remains in her world of fantasy for most of her time in the waking world. She's either off seeking the magic within Kells or lost in thought, dissociating through the world as she listens and thinks of the spirits beyond. Talking to her can be frustrating, as while Hymn is present she also isn't. Her answers are delayed, soft, and often drawn out in sentences half forgotten and ended before they reach their conclusion.

Despite all this she isn't dumb. She's incredibly clever and knows her way around herbs, poisons, and plants, most likely picking these skills up from Auntie Red. Hymn is family orientated, believing their souls are intertwined to dance together for the rest of eternity. She happily spends time with her family and partakes in their hobbies and pleasures, although Red's particular interest in plants have truly resonated with her. She wants to help others, of course, but Hymn wants more to provide offerings to the spirits she believes in. She spends much of her time wrapping up herbs together to place throughout the pack as a thank you to the spirits who protect her home.

Hymn, however, is not all sweet and sugar. She's selfish to the core, despite her outward appearances. Hymn has her own interests, and the spirits and her family are her top priorities. She will do anything to protect both. There's an almost cold indifference to those who threaten either, as while a smile remains and her act stays the same she won't feel bad about slipping poison into your food or leading you into danger. This side of her isn't often seen, as she hides it well and doesn't even reflect on it. It's a part of her. She will sacrifice her morals and being for the things she believes in, making her a dangerous wolf to upset. You won't see her retaliation coming, and most likely the last thing you'll see is a gentle smile and warm paws reaching out to stroke your face comfortingly as you pass.

Hymn supports her family and their endeavors. She also supports her parents considerably. She believes true-love is one of the purest things a wolf can experience. Love is everything, and she feels love in its entirety. Love for her pack, love for the spirits, love for her family. Nothing would make her happier than her mother and father coming together as one. She will be one of the wolves praying their romance becomes a forever story.

Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Yes. She cannot imagine not being with her family, and that is strongly why she hopes her father stays. Her aunts, her brothers, her parents -- they're all a part of her and she hopes they'll remain close to her side.

What plots do you see for this little lady?:
Just like Auntie Red: She will follow in Red's footsteps, if the wolf lets her. She wishes to learn the knowledge her aunt has and follow her in becoming a Healer. Hymn will learn to appease her spirits with herbs and offerings during her studying under Red.

Come Little One: Her love for her mother is strong, and Hymn has always been a touch... strange. Her mother loves pups, and one day her own children will be adults. Hymn wants nothing more than her mother to smile, and so if a pup somehow is brought to the pack for her mother... well, what can you do? Hymn wouldn't be above snatching the children of undeserving parents. She believes the love they refuse to give her mother could provide tenfold.

Love Blossoms!: She roots for her parents and their hearts meeting. Hymn will do her best to gently push them together when she can, and perhaps leave extra offerings on the nights Shadowfire visits in hopes the spirits will bless them.

Misguided Love: Maybe someone hurts someone she loves. A brother, a parent -- anyone. I want to document the first time Hymn slips into her other self. Someone has to rid the world of what is wrong, and she rather be the one then stain the paws of her loved ones.

A Swollen Belly: Hymn is, for the most part, an innocent and trusting creature. Forget the poisoning thing (or don't, maybe you'll mind your manners), she is a good girl. She also is very susceptible to a wolf love bombing her and getting into her good graces. I would love her first romance to end painfully. A broken heart, a wolf long gone in the night (or perhaps she brings his demise), and a swollen belly full of children she hadn't planned to raise alone. Surely her family will help her, right?

Children of Spirits: Hymn has always had beliefs about the spirits her pack doesn't necessarily have. This isn't to say she isn't a true Swamp Lurker believer -- she just adds her own flair and thoughts. It wouldn't be unheard of for her to have her own stories about the spirits and what they do for the wolves of the swamp. Her children would grow up being told they were blessed by a spirit, and if pressed she might claim their father was one too. It wouldn't be a conscious lie, as Hymn's fragile mental stability would crumble at the loss/death of the man she loved and she might evidently begin to believe her story.

True Love: Hymn will one day find her truest of loves; a mate of her own. It might come with trial and error, as Hymn's heart will be strained and fragile from her first love. But a beautiful story will someday unfold.

Additional Information?: Hymn is a strange wolf with her own beliefs that mingle where they can with Swamp Lurker religion. RP with her family would be absolutely loved and plots are more likely to develop organically, as I do better developing plots through RP! I'm a bit terrible at making pre-determine plots, lmao.

The Time's Come to Play

Name: Firesong Sanderson
Personality Blurb: Named for the warm melodic tone in her voice, Firesong sounds pretty but is quite horrifically bad at singing. As a pup, she cannot be convinced of that truth and spends countless hours tormenting the ears of her siblings and peers. Growing up, learning to hide how off-putting her singing voice is becomes her first lesson in deceit. She is the type of wolf to lie by omission, to remain silent and let others form the wrong opinions about her.

Firesong is deeply loyal to her family and her pack, and being spirit-touched she believes herself to have a deeper connection with the world around her. If she has a bad day, she would sooner assume that she had done something to displease a spirit than place the blame elsewhere. In general, Firesong is a pleasant young wolf with a deceptively pretty face. She is vain, and if she did not put her family and pack first it would be incredibly noticeable just how vain she is.
Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Yes
What plots do you see for this little lady?:
I'll Take You Away
I would love to see her undertake a spirit quest to become a scout, an experience that solidifies her desire to reach out towards others. Outside of the Swamplands she is a tempting vixen, luring suitable potential partners back home. Using her wit and beauty, she'll single out wolves she believes will bring fortune to her pack.

Loveless
She has absolutely no desire to settle down or create lasting bonds outside of her own family, however she has no qualms about making it seem that way to get what she wants out of another. I can see this leading to a lot of complicated situations that she'll have to try and delicately remove herself from.

Veil
If/when she becomes a Scout, she will secretly spend quite a bit of her time outside of the packlands finding unique items for her veil. Driven by vanity, the desire will be perfect fuel for adventures both within and outside of the swamps.
Additional Information?: She is rather obsessed with making sure her veil is just perfect at all times.

The Time's Come to Play

Name: Flaming Forte Sanderson
Personality Blurb: Flaming Forte has been a rather serious pup as long as she can remember. While her memories of the den aren't much, she will always say she felt as if someone has always been looking out for her. Someone no one else can see. She has a love of the occult and the spirits and seems to always be staring off into space and kind of aloof.
Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Yes
What plots do you see for this little lady?: I'd like her to grow up thinking she has an invisible friend so to speak. As she learns about her pack family, she'll start wondering if this friend is really a spirit.

As an adult, she'll be drawn more towards spirits and be interested in learning more about them. She shows an odd lack of fear of them but is still respectful. Ideally, she'll be drawn towards the shrines and possibly one in particular. She will seek out being a shrine keeper.

The idea of pups and mates will take a spot on a back burner in her mind, but not completely far-fetched that she wouldn't show an interest in a mate and pups if she met the right male. But her first love will always be the spirits and appeasing them.

Definitely would like interactions with other members of the pack that would help guide her on her path.
Additional Information?: This is all a base start as I'm still feeling out the shop, pack and the family dynamics.

The Time's Come to Play

Name: Solaris
Personality Blurb: A curious pup who means well, she tends to wind up in trouble more often than not due to confusions and her own clumsiness. Some have attributed the pup to having four left paws, and hope she grows out of it. Solaris can be easily manipulated at the idea of an adventure on any given path and will follow it even if it ends in a bear's den... then proceed to ask the bear questions about various topics.
Do you intend for her to join the Swamp Lurkers?: Yes
What plots do you see for this little lady?: I don't really plan my plots ahead of time. I much prefer to play the character with different people and see what happens. I do occasionally decide, 'oh, I'd love to be freinds with that one', or 'oh, those two look cute together', but I will at that point ask the owner of the other critter what they think and are interested in.
Additional Information?: Solaris will never grow out of her four left feet, but by the time she's an adult, will learn to use them to her advantage to get her out of the same situations they get her into.
