Spring, 6 years ago...
Winter is now laid to rest, tucked deep in the tallest mountains, where it waits to return in 3 seasons. With Spring on the horizon, the sun warms the ground, inviting plant life to reach its arms towards the sky. The snow is gone and fresh green grass is growing everywhere. Leaves have returned and flowers are in bloom. Soquili are buzzing with life along side the birds and the bees. The cool breeze is calling one soquili home though. For Icefyre, Spring meant that summer would come. His wings began to ache, and his body grow tired. Living away from cool temperatures was exhausting to him. He would leave soon and return home, where he lived, alone. The winter had not been alone though. He had met a scintillating mare by the name of Archangelica. Much of his time had been spent walking with her, and getting to know her and her way of life. Icefyre had told her that he would leave when the flowers began to bloom. He walked with her now, with flowers all around. They hung over the day in a foreboding way, signaling that their time would come to an end. Instead of talking about each others life, there was a bright colored silence, in the shape of the Spring all around them. Icefyre felt a longing in his bones, similar to the ache of home, but for something more. Icefyre inhaled slowly, holding his breath for a moment. Looking at Archangelica, he exhaled. A large part of him did not want this time with her to end. Yet, it is time to part ways. Eyes like blue lakes, take in the sight of her. He wanted to remember her, as she is now. This would be a hard goodbye.
