Frost managed to end up caught up in a long a** story and hadn't realized he was due for another match up. Usually he knew these things and usually he wasn't slacking like this, but he couldn't really walk away from such a in depth meaningful story. But here he was ready to fight and ready for whomever his opponent was. When he stepped into the area, he noticed the male looking at him and let out a snort. He didn't say anything and just gave him a cold stare. What would he say anyway?

"Don't disappoint me." He managed to mumble out, but even still he didn't even mean for that to come out. He didn't want to be an a** and he certainly didn't even know if he would win.

He didn't bother beating around the bush any longer and ran at the male. He was a brute and braced himself for hard tackle.

Proud. Blackwater held onto the word like a favorite toy while he rested and lapped up water. His headache abated slightly, though he ended up having to bug Aunt Sully about some more of her mixture. Proud. He had won two whole battles despite his health issue. Maybe he honestly had a shot at winning.

This brief and rare moment of pride and hope died when he saw Frostbitten Revenge.

Blackwater Raptor was average sized for a dire wolf, but he felt small in comparison to the Iron Hide beta and felt his tail tucking. The beta. Oh no. Was he mad about the battle with Snow Rabbit? Or did he always look like that? What happened if Blackwater did disappoint--

WHUMPH!

To his credit, the young wolf didn't fall over immediately like he had against Forbidden Oath. He dug his heels in this time, but the effort it took to do so didn't leave him any option other than to mitigate the force and redirect it into falling back. Blackwater wheezed and snorted before trying to come at Frost from the side.

The tackle hurt like hell, but he knew he would manage to rest it off and be fine if he had to battle someone else. He knew this was friendly sparing, but a part of him saw it as more. He didn't like failing. Even when he was growing up his younger brother would always look at him with big eyes filled with awe and he never liked disappointing him. In the end it turned out that way and there was nothing he could do to take it back. So he pushed on and tried not to regret anything he did including this. It was a good opportunity to train and really get to know the fighting styles of others.

He was stunned the other male didn't collapse on the ground from that tackle and was really pleased that he wasn't some wimp. He liked that he could stand his ground and take a full hit. He gave him a nod before seeing him try and attack him from the side. It was not a success and he moved out of the way just in time. He decided to try something different and swipe his paw at his side without his claws extended. He wasn't trying to draw blood and he was curious if this male could handle a large paw swipe just as well as the tackle.

Frost was fast for his size, and Blackwater was winded though he tried not to think about it. He skid to a halt and winced when his claws caught the ground, but it allowed him to change trajectory faster...into the swipe unfortunately. He grimaced, but his previous momentum kept him moving inside the beta's reach to Return the Tackle (Mk II). If he could just get this guy off balance, then maybe...

Oath's maneuver had knocked him senseless before. He tried to mimic it.

Frost was happy with the two hits he had landed so far and felt like this was going to be the thing that really tipped the scale of the match. He needed to get a final hit in and really drive it home. Usually that would work for him. However he wasn't expecting Blackwater to tackle him so hard. He was nearly knocked to the ground and felt the sharp pain sore through his body as he braced himself. It hurt like hell and he felt himself stagger slightly. This wasn't good. This wasn't good at all. He retaliated with a lunge feeling angry that the other male hit him so hard and so precise.

He was known to be a bit of a sore loser because he didn't like failing. He used all his strength in this attack and hoped he could land a good enough hit.

It...It worked? It worked! He could hear Big Bad's howl of laughter drowning out the painful heartbeat in his ears. Proud. His tail started to wag a little of its own volition, though his moment didn't last long.

Frost did not look happy.

Blackwater's fear came back. There was no way he was going to be repeating that maneuver--the succession of fights, even with breaks, was getting to him, so rather than try to meet the beta in battle, he threw himself out of the way.

Frost wasn't happy, but he wasn't really going to hold it against the other male. He gave him a good spar and that was worth all of this in the end. Even his last spar against Shade had proven to be worth it in the end. He watched the male closely before blocking his path and stepping in front of him. He looked down into his eyes with his cold hues before relaxing his gaze.

"It was a good fight..but don't let all of this go to your head." He had that happen once and it ended up backfiring on him in the end. "I wish you luck in your next match." He was trying to be a better sport then he normally would be and in the grand scheme of things he might end up meeting Blackwater again.

With a firm nod, the large male wandered off. He would watch from the sidelines and stick close to Snow. He wanted to see just what else this male had in him.
