With his sister off today and his other assistants off as well. Midas was just finishing off cleaning the kitchen like no tomorrow. The grease pan had been emptied and the stove was sparkling like it was new. The portraits in the shop had been dusted and every booth had been cleaned, vacuumed and whipped down. In truth he was just feeling restless and wanted something to do. It was odd to have the placed closed for a day. Since he had come to house eleganza he had opened this shop and was proud of how busy it had gotten. He had recently come back from the fire and water festival and had left open a new place in his home for a flightless to come and stay though she had wanted to visit another pony she had met while there. It was fine but it left the home empty right now which was a scary kind of silence he was not used to dealing with anymore. Sighing he put away the rest of the cleaning supplies except the window cleaner and a rag and moved to the outside of the shop to clean off the windows from the outside. The day was pretty bright and nice, perhaps he should go for a flight later? Anything was better then doing nothing when he was so used to moving around.

(come save this pony from himself.)

Meissen really didn't know how or why their blog was getting more popular, considering the pegasus hadn't done anything to change their format. Write about where they were going, maybe interview a few locals on the restaurant and its history; sometimes they'd even upload videos of ponies talking about their favorite meals before going on to try the actual thing. Maybe the surge in followers was on account Meissen had mentioned a visit to a place called House Eleganza; it was something of a folk tale among gourmands. Not that it was impossible to visit (it was just another resultant-like place, after all) but rather for the types of clientele that seemed to wander through. Or, maybe, that it sort of sprang up overnight and was wickedly good.

There hadn't been a rush to get there, at least not on Meissen's part, as they weren't aware if one really needed a reservation or not. They'd barely skimmed over information before setting out, opting this time to try and eat first before doing anything else. As they approached, it seemed as though the place was....deserted. Not abandoned, of course, but empty for the day. Was it closed?

". . . . . " This, absolutely this, would be Meissen's luck as the pagasus stood out front and wondered just what to do.

Seeing another pony looking at the store front Midas didn’t recognize them. Either a newcomer or a traveler he was guessing. “Hello there.” He still had the cleaning rag and glass cleaner. Looking at the smaller pony he thought back to when he first came to House Eleganza. Kyanite would not turn away a hungry or homeless pony. So if this was a hungry pony new to this place how could he do any different. “The Sea Dragon’s Fangs is technically closed for the day but if you are ok with a small meal rather then a buffet I can whip something up for you.”

Moving to the door he opened it up and offered the pony to head into the restaurant. Honestly it would give him something to do and he didn’t mind that he had just cleaned up for the day. It would keep him busy otherwise he would have had to travel around House Eleganza to find something to do , which while not hard most days was not really how he wanted to spend today. The restaurant was clean and there was decorative coral from the fire and water festival on the front desk by the register. There were small cheap bamboo plants for sale with folding fans behind the counter turning the corner there were rows of booths with soft red faux leather. On the other half of the seating area had chairs and standard tables. The lights currently had stain glass circling them but Midas was hopping to someday replace them with shells that he had collected from the fire and water festival. The walls has a large pastel underwater sea look with artistic representations of a large long sea dragon snaking around the dinner.

" . . . . . " Meissen paused in both thought and speech as a rather vibrant stallion seemed to materialize out of nowhere and usher them in to a (clearly closed) building. Common sense would have prompted the pegasus to politely refuse and come back another day, but the sheer level of insistence they were being shown more or less nipped that in the bud.

Truth be told the stallion wasn't being pushy in the slightest, but Meissen didn't do well with most folk. Or all folk.

"Was I....supposed to have a reservation or something?" Or really, why hadn't they checked to see hours of operation? Today had been what the pegasus thought to be a normal operating day for most restaurants but apparently they'd been severely mistaken. "Or...what even...are your business hours?" It was complete egg on the face of any self-respecting food blogger to get to a place and not have it be open; this was why they should have done their normal steps and interviewed the locals beforehand.

This was not going to be a well-rated review on their blog for certain and Meissen could already see the comments piling up mocking them. Cautiously they followed in after the invitation, taking scope of how everything was laid out. Really...thematic, if honest, and not at all what the pegasus had been expecting.

Midas chuckled. “No no reservation here. Usually we would be open but after all the travel from the Fire and Water festival recently today we were closed. Can’t really work everyone to death after a long trip after all. Business hours are normally 7 to 9 during the week Monday through thruway and 9 to 11 on Friday through Sunday.” He knew most places were closed on Sunday but he knew some folks never seemed to take a day off and wanted to be open for them. “There is a paper tapped to the inside of one of the windows with our hours if you need. it’s also on our take out menus so you can call ahead and get an order placed if you are worried about a lunch or dinner rush.” He was glad he had cleaned the place from top to bottom. Moving behind the main counter he pulled a menu out and passed it to her. “Please sit where you’d like and let me I’ll be back in a moment to find what you want. I’m afraid the buffet option is off the menu as we were closed but I can make any dishes you’d like for you until you’re satisfied.” It would give him time to turn the ovens back on while the Pegasus could look over the menu. He placed the cleaning agents back where they belong and went and cleaned up quickly washing off and turning stoves on before getting some nice ice cool water and a waiter’s notepad to go find where the other pony had sat and see what they might like.
