[About 10 minutes later]
Topher and Salem had been quiet for a bit in Topher’s room when something in Topher’s head finally screamed at him and he looked at Salem closer, something was different. Then it hit him. ”Salem? Is that a ******** wedding ring you’re wearing?” Salem blanched then twisted the ring around his finger with his other hand. ”Finally noticed, took you long enough old man.” The boy was oddly quiet even now and seemed to get more somber. Topher paused before going on and looked at Salem closer again. ”What happened?” Salem sighed long and sat down. ”You’ve been here for like what a matter of half a year? Saline and I have been here for almost six years. The random time jump into this area is screwy, you’re lucky that Cici popped in here at a exact time when you were here and on your ship.” Topher waited for him to continue and Salem closed his eyes and shook his head. ”You never asked why they just left? It’s a bit of the fire power my ships have but they also know they can’t ever hold me.” Topher could literally feel Salem holding back energy which was quite odd. ”I met her in our second year. She helped us both greatly and yes we got married quickly but we knew it was going to happen, she was like us. A year later some a*****e group targeted us and she was killed in the crossfire. And yes I know you’re thinking… great another Toby Love Story.” Salem waved the thought away. ”While I went on a rampage my targets were precise and I didn’t cause any collateral. Anyone that backed off or gave theirself up to authorities I let them be escorted out. Authorities were near at most, my wrath was known, anytime I was seen they were called.”

Salem paused for a second and Topher could see him holding back the anger and forcing it down. ”I targeted the crime groups that put that attack together. The authorities couldn’t target them with their own means or for political reasons so essentially I told them arrest anyone that comes out and stay out of my way. They of course weren’t happy of my ways but the threat of crime groups were being dealt with so a higher up rolled with it. They didn’t know at the time, any of the so called psychics I killed on sight. I also… found a way to absorb any energy, not just family or self.” Salem raised his head to stare at Topher and while Topher wanted to punch him the look in Salem’s eyes said it would do nothing. ”wh…” ”Still rank S probably beyond for telepathy, everything else is now A, still barely anything in empathy apparently that ability comes more easily to females of our family. But rank A for everything is why they flat out avoid me. Nothing can hold me in.”

Topher blinked and remembered having higher clairvoyance and how annoying that was. ”Yeah that took time to get used to but that’s also why they don’t even try, they can’t ever get close to me.” Salem paused as his watched blipped once and he sighed and got up. ”Figures she’d pop in, I was wondering WHEN she would pop in. Cici would get her attention and she seems to be fascinated with Gray.” He walked out and Topher followed him to the docking bay where everyone was. Salem was still quiet and looked for Cici and then to Gray, well Toby. ”Have you pissed off Genny enough yet for her to show herself and break her own protocol? Maybe I should tell her about what I just told gramps and she will punch both of us.”

Something was wrong. Genny had that feeling ever since she arrived to this time. Saline and Salem didn’t seem to notice from what she’d gathered over the years of being stuck here. Probably something to do with her experience in other timelines. While her usual focus was recording history using their time travel to verify facts, she did tend to get caught crossing where she wasn’t technically supposed to end up. That was an unfortunate fact Genny wasn’t too fond of. Her current predicament wasn’t due to whatever typically pulled her to different timelines.

She had noticed a blip, a beacon of sorts. It was a signal from their family equipment that usually meant trouble but it was short. Of course that meant without much thought Genny figured she’d have to go find out what that was all about. Only to get trapped here with Salem and Saline from her own past. Unfortunate.

The feeling has suspiciously subsided some roughly six months prior. Suspicious because that’s the time Topher happened to appear in this time as well. She’d insisted that Salem at least help make sure he made it to the colony okay, not trusting Topher’s ability to be on his own in this time. Besides, another mind trying to get them home would probably help some. However it returned albeit differently when Cici popped in. And it had only gotten worse since she’d sent that message to Salem.

She’d taken to pacing the workroom floor trying to convince herself that things were okay. She wasn’t convinced. Especially since Salem had neglected to message her back and he seemed to be ignoring her calls. Not that she expected that was happening on purpose, if it really did have something to do with Cici, he probably had his hands full.

Genny stopped pacing with a sigh. She had an idea but she didn’t like it. But if something really was wrong… She’d hate herself if she didn’t do something. Decision made, she entered some data on a nearby computer and teleported herself to Salem’s ship. Whatever deficit in energy taken from the colony would just have to come from Salem’s ship when they arrived back there. Technically he owed more than this to them anyway.

And long range teleport like that was fairly dangerous as well. Even knowing where in space the ship was didn’t account for much but for this… It was well worth the risk to end up where she did. The teleportation sound was much softer than the usual timeline hopping “pop” so it wasn’t any wonder neither of them noticed her presence right away. However Genny’s eyes narrowed as they fell on Gray. Of ******** course he would be involved somehow. Sure she’d never interacted with him directly, but she had seen some of the aftermath of some of his handywork in other timelines. If something screwy was going on it was probably for one of three reasons. Maxwell, who’s handiwork had already been well documented and localized and mostly squshed by now. Topher, or some group trying to get after him for something he did which was the more likely scenario. Or ******** Gray. Who had no idea how to keep his grubby mits off their timeline.

So of course when offered the chance to deck him in the face she took it. ”You ******** idiot!” She had taken a protective stance between him and Cici, who was rather surprised to see her sister pop out of nowhere. ”I cannot ******** believe it. I should have guessed but I thought there was no way you’d be this stupid. Obviously I was wrong on that front.” Genny took a deep breath but she was far from done with her rant. ”Politics? You really have lost your god damn mind. Great Uncle Topher in politics??? You do realize how ridiculous that sounds right? The strongest Telepath who isn’t a fan of liars, in a position surrounded by nothing but liars. Great Gran would kill you if she heard you say that. Especially since dragging him here only made him stronger.”

Genny exhaled harshly, glaring daggers at Gray. ”Gran probably wouldn’t be too much happier with you either. And not to mention what is lurking just in his future… She sighed, not wanting to get into it. Besides... Not like it even matters.... What are you doing here anyway? There’s no way in hell you are trapped here like we are. And if you think you’ve come to help after probably being the reason we are all trapped here, you can kindly just ******** off. We’ll figure it out ourselves.” Now that she was done with him, she turned back to Cici and pulled the girl into a tight hug. ”Thank god you are safe.” She pulled back to say something else but the others had arrived.

She glared at Salem when he entered, half tempted to hit him too. ”I only need one guess as to why you think I’d hit you. I’d probably get it right but right now, I’m closer to hitting you for ignoring my messages and leaving my sister with this a*****e. And besides, I’m well past the ‘Don’t interfere’ protocol by now. Especially having to look after you idiots while stuck here.

Genny Description cause I can't find an FC I like atm
Roughly 30 years old
Long blonde hair pulled in a high pony tail simlar to how Jenny and Chris tend to wear their hair.
Glasses (Something she started doing since she got here idk there's probably a plot point here somewhere)
Lab coat because she does all the research stuff. She is almost the top expert in most of the time tech they use which is great for trying to figure out how to get back home.
