The male cheetah stretched in the tall grass, a yawn escaping his jaws. This was... cozy. The sun was warm, but not uncomfortably so, even with his dark fur. He yawned again before rolling over onto his back, confident that no one was around to be a threat to his safety.
This is what made him happy. Warmth and safe solitude. He took after his mother in that way, he knew. It had been a long time since he had seen her... his mind drifted off to what she might be doing now. Did he have more siblings, perhaps? Or had she chosen the path he seemed to be going on now?
As he thought up different scenarios, he felt himself slowly begin to drift off to sleep...
