[Solo] Going it alone (Syntyche)

Syntyche moved along the rogue land slowly it had been more dangerous than usual in the last few weeks and since she was blind she had to watch her step so she didn't fall into a sinkhole or end up hit by a tornado. Then again wind she could hear, she couldn't hear a hole in the ground. She had honed her sense of smell and hearing since she was born since she had never been able to see. She was always at the edge of her family until she left them when she was an adolescent. Sy didn't need them or anyone else for that matter she could take care of herself. She scented the air as she drew near the watering hole and listened for any other creatures near by.

Sy continued on her way she had no particular destination in mind. She was just doing her own thing and keeping to herself as she normally did. She walked along listening for anything she might happen to come along since she wasn't able to see anything since she was blind. She had to stay on her toes if she wanted to survive in the rogue lands. She sighed out softly she was getting a little tired of being alone all the time but she didn't have much choice in the matter since she didn't think she would be accepted into a pride anyway.

Sy jumped at the sound of someone calling so suddenly to her, she glared with her blind eyes in their direction. She listened and waited. It didn't sound like they were coming any closer to her at the moment. Her tone was cold as she said "Hi." She didn't trust others easily if at all. She kept herself at a distance from others for the most part after she had been abandoned by her own family. Who thought she was cursed because she had been born without the ability to see.

Sy turned away from the sound it didn't matter anyway since she didn't have any reason to get close to anyone else right now or let anyone get close enough to hurt her so she left and would likely leave the area so she wouldn't have to deal with any conflicts either. It was how she preferred to deal with things on her own. Keep everyone at a paws length so she couldn't be rejected. If she rejected others first she couldn't be hurt by them. She sighed it wasn't a perfect life but she couldn't see any way out of it at the moment.

Sy moved on she wouldn't be talking to anyone today, so she would move on and stay alone for the time being, she had her own life and own way of life. Keeping to herself worked find for her and she would be fine for now till she was able to figure out something else. She didn't need anyone else to support her in how she lived. She would be fine on her own for the moment. She would find something to hunt and a safe place to sleep for the night. There really wasn't anything else she needed in her life at the moment.

Syntyche sighed out once again as she made her way along a path she knew very well by now. She traveled these same paths often she needed to know her home well since she was blind and unable to see anything. She had figured out ways to get by on her own she didn't need anyone else and that was fine with her. She was fine. At least that was what she told herself as she made her way alone the path. Perhaps she was lonely but for now, her fear of being rejected was her higher consideration. She didn't want to feel the fear of rejection she felt when her own family threw her out when she was only a cub. It had hurt her badly and she wasn't sure when she would be able to let it go and move one. Perhaps someday she would find a safe place where she could perhaps fit in or perhaps she wouldn't and that would just have to be alright.

She continued on till she found a safe place where she could sleep for the night, then in the morning, she would have to go hurting if she wanted to survive it was necessary. She had to learn early on to take care of herself or she would have died since there was no one else to look after her. She had been on her own from a very early age. Since her family thought she was cursed because she was born blind. She wondered sometimes if she was. A lioness who was unable to see wouldn't easily be considered useful after all. Who would accept that after all?

In the morning she went out again, she needed to find water and then go hunt. She had developed her skills quickly since she had little choice in the matter. Since she had been determined to live. She didn't want to give up and prove her family right about her being only a burden. She had taken to hunting small creatures like lizards and snakes. Which had been enough when she was a small cub. As she grew she had to learn to take down bigger prey to get by. She learned to take down larger prey such as gazelles which were not to hard to take down on her own. She found ways to make her life bearable. Soon she didn't need anyone she was fine on her own. At least that was what she always told herself as she made her way on day after day. Perhaps it was a lonely life but it was the only one she had. So what choice did she have? She didn't think at the time anyone would accept her. Only time would tell if she would ever find a home where she could perhaps fit in and be happy. Perhaps someday she would, or perhaps not.
