The last two Threadfalls had been harder to fight, there were wounded and casualties throughout all of the wings, but A'dras had noted some sloppy flight work in his own wing. Having been promoted to Flight Leader, he had been busy though he had thought he was working his wing just as hard as he always had, that must not have been the case.

Hurricane Wing, we are meeting in a clearing outside of the weyr walls for our drills today. Do not be late or there will be consequences. Gareth broadcast the message to all those in their wing as A'dras finished looking things over in his weyr. According to a recent weather report, an area not far from here would have turbulence up in the higher altitudes, making it the perfect place for the drill he had in mind.

Walking to the ledge, A'dras swung up onto Gareth's back and strapped himself in before the bronze dragon allowed himself to fall from the ledge, coasting towards the ground before letting his wings unfurl and catch the wind, taking them up into the air.

Once at the determined meeting spot, A'dras was out of the straps and leaning against Gareth, waiting for the arrival of his wingriders.

This drill has been a long time coming, with me trying to make it seem more complicated then it had to be. It's a formation drill, so the dragons will be flying in the formations they fight thread in, doing their best to perfect just staying in formation and returning to it as well.

We will be using stats and it will run a bit like a Flight, but there will be obstacles thrown in and, depending on how your rider/dragon rolls, events may happen to them that I will quote you about.

So, how do you get your stats, simple.

Base Stats
Dragon(No Matter Color): 50

Age Stats
Less then 5 Turns: +5
Between 6-20 Turns: +10
Between 21-35 Turns: +13
Over 36 Turns: +15

Physical Stats
Rotund/Lazy: -2
Average/Normal: +2
Fit/Motivated: +5

Mental Stats
Absent Minded: -2
Normal: +2
Dedicated: +5

Once you have your Total Points you will spread them out through the stats, which are as follows:

Strength: Measures Physical Power
Dexterity: Measures Agility
Constitution: Measure Endurance
Intelligence: Measures Reasoning and Memory
Wisdom: Measure Perception and Insight

The First Round will Start Monday, March 11 around 7 pm Central Time. Until then, post in your Wingrider as they come to the clearing and get your dragons stats set up.

Y'io was, as usual, one of the first to arrive. Taliorth circled lazily in the air down to the appointed location and landed as daintily as a large not-very-dainty brown dragon could, then extended a foreleg so his rider could dismount. What kind of drills do you think they are going to throw at us, Y'ioMine? the big brown asked, sending along feelings of excitement. Drills were always fun!

"Probably Thread," Y'io responded in his typical flat manner. Inside, though, he was a little nervious. The last Threadfall they'd flown hadn't gone well at all, with many dragon pairs getting hurt -- and worse. He was certain A'dras was less than pleased by their performance.

That sounds like fun! Doesn't it sound like fun?

"Yeah, tons of fun..." Leaning back against Taliorth's shoulder, Y'io waited for the rest of the wing to turn up.

Begath lifted his head from his foreleg as he received the message. He turned his head toward his rider’s quarters. I’m sorry to bother you Jynnatmine, but Gareth says we must meet them for our drill today. He knew how much her arm had been bothering her.

Jynnat winced as Begath spoke to her and sighed. Alright, I’m coming. She got up and gathered her gear and his straps. Coming out into his weyr, she took her careful time to place his straps with his help to avoid jarring her arm. Her arm was some better but still hurt.

The one strap on the left needs to be tightened mine. Once he was ready, Begath waited until she’d gotten her jacket on then crouched down as far as he was able to, to make it easier on her.

Jynnat mounted up and gripped the straps tightly with her one good hand. “Alright let’s go.” Begath rumbled softly and rose to his feet and jumped off his ledge as gently as possible. He would do his best not to shake his rider during this. They arrived and Begath settled himself onto the ground. Jynnat nodded to A’dras, but remained on her mount.
