I really love green.
The muscled lad had met his match in a lady and not long after he was out on his first viking. Life had arranged itself in a nice little row for him and perhaps it was this that spurred him into action. Eykt hadn't been known for great gut reactions so what came next didn't surprise him as much as it likely should have.
Like walking through a wall his world went from bright, swamp shades of greens, and plenty of light too absolutely nothing. Green eyes turned upwards as if to find the source of this darkness, but he simply given more questions as the sky seemed clear, not a cloud in sight! Now his brows furrowed as mild shock settled in. Wrinkling his nose in displeasure he had to make a snap decision of what to do. Though before he could he was reminded quickly of something - he was not a Captain.
"Alright - boys." The Captains voice could be heard over countless remarks and mumbles. There had been rumors about these occurrences, but most of them hadn't put much stock on those rumors even with as superstitious as they were. "You'll keep your heads about ya'." Eykt was staring at his Captain now, attentive eyes glowed with curiosity. "Darkness didn't hold us back in the womb, it won't hold us back now." That statement hit him and he went from curious to a sudden burst of adrenaline. Their plans were returning to his memory and though the darkness was something odd it was likely they couldn't do much to change their situation and even less they could probably do to find the source. If it was an angered god or two they couldn't do much anyway.
"We could make a sacrifice." The offer came from the back of their band. A smaller lion, perhaps the child of a priestess? Eykt couldn't place the face or the voice. "If we can find something to sacrifice, then perhaps we will." The Captain's response seemed to be more to calm the suggester than anything. Though if they came across something Eykt was sure the Captain would follow through, just to keep the group together mentally - it was a necessary evil.
That's when Eykt noticed the creature, looking rather pathetic, hidden in nearby brush. Truthfully had it not moved his eyes would have remained forward, but the little being gave a strange shudder. "Sir." He said, calling attention to the others and specifically his Captain. "It'd be a sad sacrifice, but still a sacrifice." He offered with a half-assed shrug before lunging at the creature and dirtying his pretty pale pelt, staining it with blood. For it to be a proper sacrifice the creature had to be alive and so he ensured that he could still feel a mild pulse as he held it in his jaws.
The sacrifice was made.

The darkness lifted almost as quickly as it had fallen and the whole band was left with a dumbfounded expression on his or her face. The few Shield-Maidens that had been tempted to join them were now unsure of their choices. The Captain saw these reactions and quickly steeled his own expression. "C'mon hurry it up." He beckoned the band loudly. His impatience was clear in his tone and he didn't hesitate to begin leading the way once again. Slowly the band, including Eykt. He hadn't been capable of warding away the feelings of shock about whatever impending doom lingered over their heads, but he was able to get his legs moving.
"Captain!" Did his eyes finally lose focus enough to create a white haze. Eykt was staring ahead of the Captain at what appeared to be clouds falling from the sky - the lion hadn't seen a snow storm in all of his life. "What the ******** is that?" His question was lost as the 'cloud storm' started towards the band at a speed like no other. What had the weather in a tizzy? This was the last question he had mentally before before overcome by the sudden storm.
