Ukoo couldn't believe that her life had gone through so many changes. From a loving happy home with siblings and a large family to a stranger. From the vampire pride, where she was used as a blood slave from childhood until she was an adult. To the harem pride, where she was both adored and feared for her seer abilities and struggled so hard with her identity and her role in life. From becoming to much of a fear for her Pad and being given to a male whom she dreamed of-literally.
She walked beside him now. The old pride they lived in was in shambles and they ran from the chaos and the sadness. Ukoo disliked. She sighed softly. Behind them padded her daughter; whom she had sought out immediately from the fray and had with her. Uggi was the child given away to another male in a game... and Ukoo would never forget it. Good thing Tariq was dead. She glanced behind her to make sure Uggi was still there... she was almost afraid to lose her again.
Ukoo tried to not think about the rest of her children.
Uggi was indeed behind her mother. She chose to not speak to much on this long trek they seemed to be on. It was exhausting but not nearly so as escaping the pride. She sighed deeply herself. She had full faith in her seer mother and her new father.... whom already proved to be more of a father than her own. She did however have a heavy heart... in order to make their lives better they had to leave so much behind... and it was all Uggi had ever known.
She hadn't spoken much during this long trip. She didn't know what to say. She had left on impulse; to remain with her mother... the strongest person she knew. She coughed lightly as they padded; her red eyes half lidded tiredly. She as an adult but had never traveled this far in her life.
Not ever.

Tendaji couldn't believe his good fortune. Everything in his life had changed, and so drastically; he wasn't the lion he had once been. For indeed, the rogue lion had found his heart the willing captive of a lioness who had endured much in her life. She was, in his opinion, a far stronger lion than himself, for all that she bore scars and (perhaps, he worried) did not think much of herself. What history he knew had her captive in the paws of so many; used by others; and discarded so easily. Tendaji had always been a bit of a rogue. He had lived for himself for so long, taking odd jobs, and following others leaders in various prides, that this was the first time he could honestly say he was living for another. It was a change he would gladly make. He had never fond love--not in prior Prides, not even out in the roguelands. Oh, a casual encounter or two, a few affairs here and there; but he never stuck around, and he never lingered long enough to settle down or get his heart involved. He had been a spy, a scout, a thief, a rogue in his youth; but a stealer of hearts or willing to let his own be taken? Never.
Not until he saw *her*. Not until he stumbled upon Ukoo.
She had changed his life, and the green lion was determined to ensure she lived out the rest of her years in a happier place. There was no mountain too tall, no rive too wide, no watering hole too deep to keep him from striving with every ounce of his being to ensure her happiness. She had lived a life of hardship, and Tendaji was determined to ensure she found joy. "How are you two holding up? There's some shade ahead, and if need be, I might yet find us a trail to a watering hole." He spoke to both, fondness in his words. He loved Ukoo with his entire being, but he had also grown fond of her daughter, Uggi; and though she was not of his blood, he certainly treated her as if she were. His ear flicked at her cough, and his pink eyes looked upon the younger lioness with concern. "The journey's long, but the color of the savanna is brightening. We're ... not far. Perhaps another day or two." He encouraged gently.
He did not think it a mistake to take them to the Pridelands. He had visited the lands many years prior, but had never stopped to stay. Now that he had two with whom he wished to care for, he thought that perhaps, its borrders might bring safety to them both. Neither would need to belong to anyone; they could be masters of their own spirits and destinys. They could, once they arrived, live at peace at least.

ukoo was immensely happy and it wasn’t the sick, misguided and wrong happiness she knew from the past. She used to think she loved Tariq... she didn’t know any better. Now she knows she was an object. She was a piece of power. Tariq knew she had strong dreams and that what she dreamt was true. He both feared and adored her for this. He kept her apart of his harem for the power and for her misguided love for him.
She chuckled. “I will not stop until we need too. I have endured more in my time than some fatigue.”
Ukoo did pause fthough and unconsciously lifted her paw; the one that bore a scar she had created herself. At one time she had chewed her paw to the bone in a desperate attempt to satisfy something inside her... sadness perhaps. It still ached.
Uggi watched quietly with great interest in her new father. He looked at her mother in a way that was unfamiliar to her... no one had looked lovingly at her mother. Tariq looked at her with a desire... more like a strong need to hold onto her life forever... good riddance. He had been killed before they had escaped. She hoped he suffered.
She looked concerned when her mother paused her her lame pay was obviously the culprit. Her red eyes showed her worry and she stepped up beside her mother.
“Maybe we should rest mother... just for a moment.” She said sternly.
Her on concern for her mother stemmed from being raised away from her. She was lucky enough to have a kind male.... a god even... take her and raise her. He was the best thing that happened honestly. If she had been raised by that male who sired her... she’d be unhappy... she’d be a treasure instead of a mind.
