[Duel] Before the (sand)storm (Edan/Alfajiri)

Edan glanced from his perch as he saw a dark male approach. He hummed quietly, rising to his feet from his sunning stone, as he sauntered over to the newcomer, Edan's eyes narrowed as he looked up and down the male. "You are crossing into the Firekin territory." The male growled quietly, watching the male's moves. "Should you wish to go any further, you must first show me your strength."

The lion didn't wait for an answer. If the male wanted to go any further, he best be ready for the duel. Otherwise, this large red lion would be driving him off quickly. Edan was quick to the offense, as he body slammed the male's shoulder, waiting for him to respond.

He'd ran from his pride, from his father that went against what marriage was. No father should be cheating on their mate, no matter how tempted they were. It made his blood boil to think he came from someone that disgusting. Oh sure, Alfajiri knew the tales, knew why they didn't talk to some of the members. His old partner and older children were here.

Alfajiri had been so lost in his cloud of angry thoughts that he didn't really register the male's words. He just suddenly saw a huge red male running at him. Immediately Alfajiri was body slammed into the sands under his feet, winded, already bruised.

He wasn't used to being attacked. Alfajiri came here specifically to duel, and yet he hadn't paid attention, which threw everything off for him. The smaller male scrambled to get to his paws, green eyes wide with actual fear and pain as he tried weakly to rush the other.

It wouldn't be successful though.

With the male didn't even speak, Edan found himself rolling his eyes.

"Come on, you have to do better than that." The male said to the stumbled lion. Just because he was pushed over so quickly, didn't mean Edan would go easy on him. At least he was actually moving. When the lion got to his feet, the red firekin smirked. He didn't wait for the other to attack him though, instead, he met him face on, teeth clashing into his mane, attempting to find the skin hidden underneath it. When he was certain he grabbed something he flung his head, trying to toss the other down.

Teeth sank down into his neck through his mane and Alfajiri let out a roar of pain as he felt something rip when the other's head tossed like that.

Fear and pain came together as he twisted his own head, claws coming swinging from the front, aiming for the other male's face. Anything to get those teeth out of his skin. Panic flooded Alfajiri's senses. He was going to lose this, it was already set in place. There was no way he was getting out of this without injuries.

Still, he kept trying to swipe at the red one's face, hoping to claw him enough to let go.

So, this male was a quiet one? Edan, while normally not this cocky, only scoffed and smirked, as the rogue twisted and turned to get away from him. He had seen claws aiming for him, and found them slightly digging at his shoulder before he released the other, spitting out pieces of hair in the meantime.

Just because he managed to get a small hit, didn't mean anything to Edan. If anything, it only angered him slightly more.

He charged at the challenge, using his head to aim for his shoulder again. What Edan lacked in brain, he would make up in his brute strength. (And his hard head).

He was finally let go. Alfajiri nearly turned tail to run. He tried to, but only got rushed quicker than he could turn around and the black male was once again downed on his side, bounced into the sand by the larger lion.

Red and black legs flailed in the sand, trying to right Alfajiri so he could at least try to defend himself. He lunged without seeing where the other was, but he tried to put intent behind it. The black male attempted to bite through the other's mane like what had been done to him, but he didn't feel his teeth connect to skin. Instead he just jerked his head around mane.

Not good.

Blue eyes watched the other bounce on the sand, flailing to get his paws back under him. A pile of dust started to form from the constant movement, which Edan used to his advantage. The rogue was not use to the desert sand, and now he was just swinging at him with no real aim. It looked like he was trying to mimic Edan, but was failing.

Ah, well, the lion was still putting up a (losing) fight, so Edan continued his ploy. Until the male decided to give up, the firekin would continue on the offensive. He rose a large paw, striking out through the rising dust, at the male's cheek. His claws remained unsheathed. Edan didn't mind if he drew blood in a duel. He'd expect nothing else from an opponent.

Blood bloomed as claws dug into the softness of his cheek and tore their way across half his nose before Alfajiri backed himself away. He'd been stuck on the sheer shock of being punctured like that.

Even as a Guard for the Mwezi he'd never had to fight like this. It had been such a short time, but Alfajiri's muscles and wounds were screaming at him. He'd been so stupid, thinking he could beat one of these large beasts of soldiers watching the boarders.

With his tail tucked between his legs, Alfajiri scrambled backwards, just trying to throw sand enough to hopefully make a quick escape.

He was just going to run away?

Edan made a tsking sound as he raced after the male. Maybe the male had an unfair advantage? He knew how the sands sifted, and how to navigate in the cloud of dust. Still, the firekin didn't let in any old weaklings. This male would not get any further with him today. Still, he was so keen on leaving, Edan would give him a push.

As the male scrambled backwards, Edan felt his head colliding with the other body once more, pushing him faster and further from the Firekin border.

He didn't follow, instead, his narrowed blue eyes held a slight amusement within them as he watched the other leave. Who knew if he would return.

That final shove had him on his a** once more and he actually turned tail to run. It seemed that the Firekin male had gotten the hint that Alfajiri was running away before he got humiliated any further.

He was practically just a cloud of dust now, still tripping over himself and landing in the sand only to get up and run more.

Would he return?

Not for a bit.
