The green was livid, eyes a deep, blood red as she stared down into the spilled entrails of the herdbeast. Her rider's grip had come too late to stop her rending the thing open, but now, there she was. The dark green glittered like a gem as she stared at her reflection in the slick coils and the slowly pooling blood. Blood. It. Only The words hammered between her headknobs, and she screamed a snarl of fury—even her rider would pay for shackling her so!

Still, the beast bent to her 'meal', lapping at the dirt and torn flesh to stain her maw darker yet. They both had known this day was coming, would come. Neither of them rejoiced to see it here. Instead only anger grew in their joined minds, turning the racing of their hearts frantic. Go, then, and see it done.

Any foolish enough to follow me will pay for their interest with ichor. Perhaps that one will be crack-brained enough to join. To send him tattered from the sky would give me more release than any in this wretched prison of stone. The green snagged the broken body of the beast, but still unable to eat it, simply shook and snapped her neck, sending bits and scraps flying before flinging it to the bowl floor. With a second bellow of furious lust, she leapt skyward, twisting towards the sky. Come, then, if you dare!

From her ledge Peresa watched the green streak upwards. The door was unlocked...but as high and isolated a perch as she'd chosen, she expected few to find their way to her. Those that did...well. Her state of mind was not much better than her dragon's in the moment.

On Shoggoth: Shoggoth was born keenly aware of the corruption and inequality in the world. While that might have made some dragons keen to foster change, all it did was make Shoggoth angry. Her passions are dark and tempestuous, and only rarely would one ever call the dragon calm or quiet. Her rider has suffered, and she would make the world suffer in return, even those that had no hand in it. She is savagely protective of those she chooses to find worthy of her time, but is also not at all above turning on them should they dare to stray from her side. She strongly dislikes the idea of life at a weyr, bowing to some bronze or gold, but her rage at thread is greater still, and makes her situation tolerable.
Pros: Versatile, committed, protective, resilient.
Cons: Wrathful, possessive, base, violent.


On Peresa: Peresa never gives up, and never gives in. She'll die trying, and go screaming to that death in a blaze of glory, given the chance. Rules are a hindrance if you've got guts, but as long as she's doing what she thinks is right or what needs done, she'll never apologize for the steps she takes. She feels all her emotions very intensely. Love, hate, joy, pain. she wears her emotions on her sleeve, and her collar, and her boot laces. You never need to wonder what she thinks of you, because it's blatantly obvious. Most people she's openly wary of, suspicious and expecting nothing. After all, how many people reached out to help her little family when they ended up homeless and scraping by? And if you prove yourself a threat to herself or her friends, she has absolutely NO problem destroying you without a thought.
Pros: Resilient, brave, passionate, romantic.
Cons: Vicious, unforgiving, has a dark (ha!) view of the world, suspicious.

‣Each round will last just one day, because I'm a dumbass who is trying to fit this in pre-honeymoon.

‣This is open to any dragons in the area. You do not have to be a weyr native, just have a reason to be in the area at the time!
‣Peresa hates just about everyone, but particularly bronzes and their riders, and may influence her green to pick a non-bronze.
‣NPCs are fine, if you lack a location-apropo rider to toss any in for funsies.

For strength/stamina, you MUST use whichever is HIGHER for your dragon (rounding DOWN for odds being halved). Health is important in this flight because any suitor that rolls
within 6 of Shoggoth takes -3pts damage
within 3 of Shoggoth takes -5pts damage
the same as Shoggoth takes -10pts damage.
Upon reaching 0hp, you are out of the flight! For each attack made, Shoggoth herself also takes -2pts damage.

How to win - There are several ways to win this flight! They are:
1. Golden Snitch: Matching Shoggoth's FINAL TOTAL procs an auto-win.
2. Rolling Win: At the end of four rounds, the three suitors with scores closest to Shoggoth's will be randomized for a winner.
2a. Dark Horse: The third suitor being randomized may be replaced by a suitor of Shoggoth's choice, should any stand out.
3. FINISH HER!: If a suitor knocks Shoggoth to 0hp, and is not brought to 0hp themselves, they proc an auto-win.
3a. If the suitor knocking Shoggoth to 0hp also hits 0hp, the next suitor to enter the combat zone auto-wins.
3b. If no other suitors enter the combat zone before the end of the round, the suitor with the nearest TOTAL SCORE auto-wins.

Round 1 will begin Monday evening at 5:30pm PST!

Normally Argoth would not have so much as raised his head when Shoggoth called; he had been in previous flights and wasn't one who liked getting so torn up just for showing interest. But the brown's wounded pride still festered even weeks after the double gold flight, and it nursed his lust with uncharacteristically petty anger. He had been so close to Fianth, closer than he had been to any gold in some turns now, and he kept replaying the memories in an unhealthy cycle of anger, longing, and guilt.

Ulix, who didn't want or care to see his dragon continue to brood for so long, mentally pushed him. Some flight fights will cure you. Or at the very least he'd have a real wound to tend to and get his mind off stupid, shining broads. There would be more chances: why not go for a green cure all in the meantime? Ulix gave a slap to the dragon's hind legs before leaving his weyr to find dear, fierce Peresa, eager to egg His own into doing something, anything, other than moping.

Argoth stood and stretched, joints popping, and then took flight. His howl in response wasn't as musical as the brown was known for, but a jagged cry of discordant notes. Tonight he would be less the harper in hide and more the hunter.

They were on their ledge in the middle of strapping up when Raumoloth’s eyes whirled bright red and he snapped to alertness, rearing up onto his hind legs to get a better view into the bowl. Venin had hold of the straps at his chest and was lifted clear off the ground. In that moment before she let go and dropped back down, the small woman saw what had captured her dragon’s attention so. Yes… it had to happen eventually. She glanced at Raumoloth, wondering how he was going to deal with competition for his desired mate.

GET THESE THINGS OFF OF ME! the blue snarled, shaking his whole body to rid himself of the still-loose straps. One undone buckle swung into Venin’s hand as she reached out to calm him and do his bidding. She swore and pressed her flame-scarred knuckle to her lips. The whole hand would be black and blue by the next morning, no doubt. But if things went as she expected, she’d feel much worse pain from another source, and very soon. By the time Shoggoth had finished blooding her kill, Raumoloth was in the air, free of his tethers, and heading toward her. I COME, SHOGGOTH! YOUR RAUMOLOTH WILL REND THE HIDE OF ANY WHO DARE APPROACH MY QUEEN.

With a sigh and a shake of her head, Venin began to make her way to Peresa’s weyr. She had no interest in bedding her young friend, however—she was actually going there to protect Peresa's suitors… and possibly snag a spare for herself, as well.

Here they came. Fools, all. The green twisted in the sky, jaws wide in a scream of fury as her would-be-suitors clawed thorugh the sky towards her. None of them worthy! How DARE they cloud HER skies?! Even Raumoloth was greeted with only venom as the green hissed like a live wire before lurching away, raking the sky with her claws as she drove up up up...

Alas she was large for a green, and bulky, and too keen to turn and carve her claws through something more substanced than air. She could feel Perese urging her up, to burn off some of her lust in the ascent, but it was not enough. Again she screeched in displeasure, neck arcing to stare down as the males swept up alongside...and claws slowly tensing to strike should any dare to draw too near!

The stormy blue knew this green well. He would not be able to win her by brute force, no. Though he was gripped by a thunderous rage, he held back, keeping his hide just out of reach. It would infuriate her to no end if she attacked and missed, and that thought only made him all the more excited. He bellowed a challenge toward Shoggoth, the violet hues of lust blinking in and out like lightning, competing with the vicious reds in his eyes.

This was a terrible idea. But lust and anger were funny things, weren't they? Even as another furious challenger came into the flight, Argoth bellowed. But he did keep back, just a teensy bit. The blue was equally intimidating, though he didn't want to be so cowardly just yet.

NPC Vistath

While his rider had suggested against it, vehemently, the bronze had lifted his head to the skies and hopped from his ledge, not so much as a word for the man as he followed to chase after the raging green. Her fury called to him, that rage and fire lit his hearts up brightly for the chase. While it was true she was no gold, there was something about her commanding voice that had him burst upwards into the sky. Of course it was a bit late to arrive but given she hadn’t gotten far....

Eyes whirling red he followed, ignoring her other suitors as they roared out their strengths and their desires, their own sort of commands. Shoggoth was the only one hat mattered here and if Vistath’s wings could beat strong enough... well.

Seeing a dear clutchmate drawing near with eyes just for her might have made a usual green swoon. Instead it made Shoggoth lash out. Her tail cracked through the air at his snout, missing by mere inches. He dared? Dared think he could snatch her, steal her choice away? She snarled at the blue, twisting away from him and towards her brown and bronze suitors.

That too had not improved her mood. The flash of light on a metallic hide had thrilled her only as long as it took to realize the bronze was not in fact Kindeth. Oh how her claws ached to rip that one into ribbons! Instead had come this one, and she felt robbed of that violent outlet. But, perhaps...yes! She struck out with her tail again when the bronze drew too close, trumpeting savage delight at the feel of contact even as the sting of bruising pain chased up along her own nerve endings She would have her sport yet!!

Emboldened at the small victory, the green spun through the air, knifing between her suitors and arrowing away from the Weyr, deftly slipping between the pursuing dragons. They would have to turn quickly not to be left behind, but she had no interest in waiting for them to try to keep up.

He supposed it was only natural to be met with more animalistic screeching. But maybe he had a fair chance nonetheless: Shoggoth didn't seem keen on her clutchmate or the bronze. Well, she didn't seem keen on anyone at all, but at least Argoth was just a mere brown with nothing other than the chase to incriminate him.

With the green whiplashing ahead, he turned the dial up and followed suit, though far less dexterous in comparison.

She had tried to rend his face and failed. He would not be so apt to miss. When Shoggoth turned in the air and shot back between him and the others, Raumoloth was ready. As she passed, he twisted with a loud snap of his wings and lashed out with his claws. He would have Shoggoth, even if he had to tear her to bits for the privilege!

Ichor staining his talons, he stayed on her tail as the distance between the group and the Weyr grew. You will not last forever, Shoggoth, he snarled back at her. Submit to my embrace now, while you still have the strength for it!

NPC Vistath

Rising higher and higher to meet her burning anger and her call to chase, Vistath got just a bit too close in his haste. Without much warning at all a tail cracked across his face, leaving a stinging pain that forced him to falter as the bronze roared in irritation. Of course it wasn’t the worst he’d ever had from a chase and really he should have expected it from this angry green, but the suddenness of it all left him shaking his head as his competition passed by smoothly. Eyes whirling to red rather than their previous purple he twisted and forced his wings to twist with him.

Though he might not be the largest of all bronzes it was still an effort to keep up with the quick and seemingly effortless turns and banks that a green might make. That didn’t mean he wouldn’t follow, he’d force himself if necessary and when possible he would dare getting closer once more. For now he owed this green and Vistath, while wanting to catch the violent beauty all the same, was not above vengeance.

She felt more than saw Argoth and Raumoloth closing in on her, with Vistath not far behind. They had reacted, had turned with speed to match hers, and to her disgust had kept the pace. I’ve strength enough to throw you to the peaks of the mountains, fools! She hissed in fury as Raumoloth’s claws raked her flank, giving the same back before he drove her nearly into Argoth’s clutches, turning to snap with teeth at the brown before a burst of speed carried her ahead.

And then, with another turn more suitable for a smaller and nimbler green, she wheeled—arcing back towards all of her pursuers with jaws flung wide, teeth stained with ichor, claws thrust forward to rip and gouge at them as she flew headlong into the pack..

The laugh of the blue male was harsh. Show me this strength, then!

Then, his breath caught as she spun, his tongue flicking out with surprise. Oh, he knew she was strong. But her savage grace was exquisite to his blood-red eyes. She was coming toward him then, and he backwinged, almost hanging still in the air for a moment. He would catch her as they clashed, ensnare her with his claws and wings!

Alas, she gave him no such chance. She swung wide of him, making sure to etch her mark deeply on his shoulder as she passed with a whoosh. Growling his frustration, he turned and once more gave chase.

NPC Vistath

So it seemed that he might have some revenge for he crack across his face, a chance to reach out and drag the little green into a fall with him despite their lack of altitude, but the blue dragon ahead of him caught the brunt. Her anger was fierce, this Shoggoth, but Vistath had certainly seen far more dangerous dances before and she was apparently appeased with taking through the blue who drew so close and claimed so much of her.

Let him have that bit, the bronze hovered back a bit as he was too far to even lash out himself and so it seemed was the brown not far from him.

Argoth took her threat seriously and might have made a short, high-pitched sound when she wheeled around to slash into them. He quickly beat his wings into a brake and veered away, but he was starting to really feel how far behind he was in compared to the other males in his caution. Shards.

No-one doubts your strength of claw and character, he offered. Certainly not this guy.
