gaia_diamond This event offers 3 different routes to get a Crystal Healer. 2 contests offer characters already confirmed for the role and 1 offers a players character the Crystal Healer Role. In all there are 3 new Crystal Healer roles opened. (See each post for more details)
gaia_diamond You may enter for both character prizes and the rank prize. Please keep in mind you may only win ONE of the characters but you could walk away with a Rank for one of your existing characters AND one of the premade characters as well.
gaia_diamond Crystal Healer is an RP Required role so only enter if you're willing to RP the character. It doesn't require a ton of RP but you will need to RP the character.
gaia_diamond Both contest characters will stay in the Mirilli'tavari forever unless pride disbands.

Summary |

Faun has felt that with all the crazy activity the pride could use a few more Crystal Healers around. He's instructed the Crystal Healers to consider a few new candidates to be taken under their wings in hopes it may help ease some of the tension the prides been feeling as of late. It is important for the pride to have as many educated Crystal Healers around but Faun has acknowledged quality is better than quantity so he has approved only a few spots to be opened so that the current Crystal Healers can take the time to properly train them.

It was decided that the best way to weed out the best was through some recommendation and exams. Nilak was appointed to be the head of the recruitment efforts for the next group of Crystal Healers.

Summary|

This male has worked his a** off to be considered for the Crystal Healer role and is willing to go the extra mile. He had been with the pride from the beginning as a Shine but spent as much time as he was able studying the scrolls in the archives. Nilak has personally taken an interest in this males theories and has personally put him on the top of the list for the recommendation of the role.

Summary|

This female is qualified for the job but to say she is the most qualified in the pride would be a stretch. Her rank was that of a Noble Lady before she was offered the rank of a Crystal Healer. She's been angling for this role her whole life but the route she went was a more social ladder she climbed along with studying. Faun has recommended her for the role as she had made it known that it is her dream.

gaia_diamond This is a contest to upgrade a players pre-existing character to the rank of Crystal Healer.
gaia_diamond Character must have been a member BEFORE this contest opened to be considered.
gaia_diamond Candidates will be considered mostly for the quality or submitted RPs. Quanity will be the second thing considered as it is important that the players active.
gaia_diamond You may only submit RPs for the character(s) you are entering to be considered for the rank.
gaia_diamond RPs must have taken place with in this prides sub forum to count.
gaia_diamond Only lions with the ranks of Shine , Scribe or Noble will be eligible to upgrade to Crystal Healer.

→ Reason | Chevaliers specialize in military more so than they do with studies so they would not ICly have time to study for what it takes to become a Crystal Healer. Gem Heralds already have a very special if not more exclusive role so this wouldn't be an upgrade for them.

Name || Celerieth - Brilliant One
Personality ||Celerieth is a polite, demure, and proper young lady, thank you very much. She knows just what to say to everyone to get them on her good side and has a fantastic memory when it comes to names, faces, and little tidbits about everyone she has ever met. As a Lady it's an important skill, especially when mingling with those of royal blood as she had to earn the rank rather than be born into it, and she always makes sure to refresh herself on important lions and lionesses in the pride. Underneath the calm, steady exterior burns a fire so hot and bright it's a wonder she keep such a tight lid on it. Celerieth is hungry for more, to be respected and loved, and to be well-known in the pride and beyond. Her only wish is to be so easily recognized for her acts and deeds that her name is spoken long after she's dead and gone. She always felt that her Soul Gem was leading her her whole life and that she'd do anything to get to the 'healer of blood' portion of the Hematite's description.
Prompt Response ||Celerieth took slow, measured steps as she always did when out in public. She was building a reputation and she wanted it to be just so, after all. A hurried, running pace would surely make others whisper more than they already were about her and her possible rank change. Although her heart was pounding in her chest she kept her exterior calm and collected, nodding and smiling to those she walked by on the way to her den.

It was only when she was within the confines of her private home that she let her excitement and frustration out. Paws swept along the floor, knocking over rocks and other decorations as she allowed the pent up energy out, her golden eyes burning with both delight and rage. She knew Faun would recommend her for the role of Crystal Healer but so did everyone else. What they didn't know was that the pretty face, the calm and polite Lady had been studying and training in private for the rank she was so close to getting. A Crystal Healer might not be the most prolific in the pride, but healers were well-renown all over the world, not just within the pride. Scribes were special here but elsewhere no one cared about writing and carving. This was what she had craved since she was a young cub, ever since one of the Crystal Healers had brought her back from near death during a severe illness that had struck her in the first few days of her life. Everyone spoke of the healer that had saved the cub and now she wanted to be the one to save lives, to spread her name through the savanna, to be remembered and loved and sought out and-

"Ouch!"

Celerieth paused in her mussing of her den as she smacked her paw into a rock that wasn't loose, a part of the cave rather than a decoration. She grimaced as she flexed her paw, her mind clear of the thoughts for just a moment. As the sharp pain turned to a dull ache, she heard a few tinkling voices outside of her den, laughing as they passed by. Surely their conversation was innocent but it made her think back to a few days prior when she had overheard a group of her 'friends' whispering about her, how Faun was only going to offer her the role because of her Lady status, that she had no idea what she was doing, that they'd never ask her for her help.

Letting out a slow breath, Celerieth turned back to her den to tidy it up after her little rampage. She'd show them. She'd show them all. Everyone who doubted her would be in her debt some day, be it illness or injury. They would see just how valuable she was and maybe then they wouldn't whisper behind her back, they'd come to her begging for her help. A tiny smirk crossed her maw at the thought and she wondered, just for a moment, which would be better.

Being remembered forever for her good work and service, or for having an entire prideful of lions in her debt for her help.

Name || Nui’ear (a play off of the phrase “nu i’ear”, which means “under the sea”)
Personality || Nui wants to stand out as bright and shiny as the crystals she hopes to work more closely with, and though she has a habit of paying too close of attention to how people view her, she’s determined to prove herself. With this in mind, her original goal for this position is entirely selfish. She wants to be seen, wants to be more than just “that silly noble girl”, and if that means getting her paws dirty, she’s all for it. As time goes on, she’ll grow to care more about helping people than her own social status.

They were talking again. She could hear them loud and clear, despite their whispering, and Nui had to fight down a scowl as she made her way towards the area that the scribes dwelled in - the library. Instead, she kept a bright smile on her face and her head held up high, making sure to tilt her paws in just the right way to show off the glittering jewels she’d adorned herself in today. After all, half the fun in dressing herself up was to have other people notice too.

Plus, okay, maybe she was also a little smug because in her jaws was one of the crystals that the Crystal Healers used. She’d finally managed to talk one of them into letting her study a crystal - and her yellow eyes practically shimmered in delight just thinking about it! If there was one thing that would turn her thoughts away from all those whispers and nay-sayers, it was her interest in crystals.

Jutting her chin up just a bit more, Nui’ear glanced back at the lionesses gossiping behind her, and as they stuttered to a quiet, she smirked and threw a wink at them, before turning and continuing through the entryway.

Why are they interested in the role? || Though not above pulling a good, harmless prank, Liling is basically a big, cuddly bear of a lioness who cares for others often more than herself. She has been yearning to find a way to aid and provide, and will go the extra mile to do so. The topic of Crystal Healers has reached her ears, and she feels like this is the perfect opportunity to become someone greater for her pride.

Oh s**t. Kiha awoke with a start. Hides of scroll scattered the den floor, the sign he had been studying the night before (and likely the morning of). He was quick to gather them in a bag, tossing is haphazardly over his shoulder as he raced through the corridor. He ignored the ominous voices that echoed in the corridor as he skittered down a corridor leading to the exam hall.

"Malachite, protector of innocence," he found himself repeating from memory. "Fluroite...concentrations companion...Quartz....opened of minds eye, mended of wounds." A successful gasp as he whooped in the halls, halting in front of the entrance to the exam area. He took a small breath to regain his composure, as he entered the exam room.

"Sorry I'm late..." he found himself saying, leaving his bag of scrolls by the entrance, before taking his designated spot inside. Time to do this. Crystal healer...here I come.
