Shy Vespera is never one to start a conversation. She would always much rather stay alone and do her own thing when it comes to a new crowd. She speaks softly usually, having those around her be close when she tells them something. Stubborn Vespera is not one to back down, she will fight until she has proven her point. If she has stopped fighting, it's usually because she has decided to subtly give you reasons why she's right. Friendly Although Vespera is shy, she is friendly. She doesn't make friends very easily though, only when those first come to befriend her. However, once she befriends you, there is not a more loyal friend, unless there's a better opportunity which involves stabbing you in the back. Respectful Vespera respects her elders and those who are loyal to her. However, if one is disrespectful towards her, she will reciprocate. Clumsy There's not often a time when Vespera is headed somewhere that she doesn't trip over her own two feet. EARLY CHILDHOODVespera was born to her muggle mother, her pureblood wizard father having died of an unknown cause before her birth. Before her birth, there was a great discussion on how she should be raised, her mother didn’t want her to deal with magic until it was time for Hogwarts, her father wanted her to be a proper witch, as if she was a pureblood like he was. The couple lived in a wizarding neighborhood, one that had mailboxes that weren’t used. Instead the mailboxes just had funny designs, making them look normal in the wizarding neighborhood, but odd to a muggle.
When her father died, Vespera’s mother took his wishes, and raised Vespera as best as should could, as a pureblooded witch. She only had access to books from pre-1800s, but surely wizarding society hadn’t changed that much in 200 years? However, the mother was desperate to keep Vespera sheltered from the wizarding world, but keeping her in the muggle world as much as possible. She attended a muggle school, and only learned things that muggles would. That is, until a long awaited day when Vespera was 8 years old.
Vespera had always questioned why there were strange mailboxes, and an unusual number of birds around her neighbor hood, but never could figure out why. That is, until one day she was walking around the house, wishing the walls had polka-dots on them, before her mom said for her to go clean her room. Furious, Vespera turned the walls polka-dotted. Her mom came running, shaking her head, "I guess I can't hide this from you any longer."
At this point, everything has a light shed upon it, Vespera was told her history, or rather, the history of her Father, a pureblooded wizard, originally from Spain. He had moved to England after graduating from his wizarding school. He then worked with the ministry and muggles (her mother couldn’t tell her much more). One day, her mother and father stumbled upon each other, and they were together ever since. After being married, her father finally told her mother about witches and wizards, and that their children may end up being a part of this society, and hence arose the arguments of how their children would be raised. The couple moved into a wizarding neighborhood in England, somewhere that was surrounded by wizards, but the muggle world was close to.
Vespera took it upon herself to read into the books her mother had, and learned values and rules that her father would have wanted her to know. She still talked with her muggle friends, but didn’t spend as much time with them, her father surely wouldn’t want her associating with muggles (She hadn’t yet found the flaw in this logic, because her mother was a muggle). Vespera planned on having the best options available to her future, and knew she would be going to Hogwarts when she was 11 years old. She wanted to be the best there was for witches, and told herself this daily, even as she fell over her own two feet constantly.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEAR I understand plenty, my dear girl, don't you worry Now then, let's see, you've certainly got a way about you, eh? Not Gryffindor? You've got fire, for sure But, then if you're certain, I guess it'll be Slytherin!
Upon entering Hogwarts, Vespera was sorted into Slytherin. Before Hogwarts, Vespera met a few of her fellow classmates, but she shied away from them as they entered Hogwarts. They probably had better things to do than to see her, and thus, she started her school year out alone. Vespera knew she had to be at Hogwarts to be a great witch, but what would happen if she didn't want to do a traditional job such as her books taught her? She joined the team for the Daily Dragon, writing, hoping to discover what else she could do in the wizarding world. In this club, she befriended a Ravenclaw, named Jonah Lane. Jonah later introduced her to Sonora Li, and the three became close friends. After dropping who knows how many things on Jonah (leaves, snow, and eggs) Vespera was convinced she knew the levitating spell fairly well. She attended classes as expected, and struggled in a few, but her Ravenclaw slaves friends helped her pass her first year of classes.

First Year: ~ Snow men following people around and poking
A strange phenomena happened during the Winter snow. Students and Staff witnessed many snowmen following them around for many hours. These "Snow Magicians" took the appearance of whoever it was they were following. Often, they would poke their fellow magician, and not stop. It seemed the only cure was heat. Many people were suddenly seen enjoying fires, and not leaving them for long. The cause of the "Snow Magicians" is unknown, it is believed to be a prankster of the upper-class causing chaos. Whoever is found responsible will be punished immediately.
~ Feather tickling. A random attack?
Writers at the Daily Dragon, have found themselves being tickled by random quills. It is confirmed that it is Vespera Salazar, first year Slytherin, who has learned a mobilizing spell in order to make a quill tickle a person if she is concentrating. While this is all fun and games, the other writers of the Daily Dragon request Vespera to stop this madness, they have a paper to write.
~ Potions being mixed into morning drinks?
One morning, it was reported that several persons coffee tasted strange, but good. It is unknown the source of this strange taste, but it is believed that there was a strong potion used to change a massive amount of the coffee flavor. More to come at a later date.
~ Superior form of coffee discovered
In a follow-up story, a superior form of coffee has been found. Previously, it was known that just a potion had been mixed into the drinks to improve it's flavor. No negative side effects have been discovered. Instead, it has shown to increase the productiveness of those who drink it. While there are potion masters on the prowl to discover what is going into the coffee, no one has figured it out! Whoever is the creator of this coffee is asked to write in and let us know!
~ Potions that Kill You
A follow up to the follow up. In recent weeks it has been seen about a potion of some sort being placed into the coffee here at Hogwarts. All students are told to not drink any more coffee. There are negatie side effects, which include an increase in anxiety, insomnia, and an increase in heart rate. It appears students coming from the muggle world are not as affected by this potion, but the reasons are unclear. Several students are now in the Hospital Wing recovering, having side effects similar to an addiction. That's right readers, this chemical has caused an addiction to occur through students. There are no signs as to the end of this problem, but it is related to the coffee. You have been warned.
~ Women being turned into goats?
A suspicious number of women have been reported missing. In addition, there is a rise of female goats reported at goat farms. The two align, there is obviously a witch or wizard that is turning women into goats. We must stop this injustice to the goats! There are humans infiltrating their ranks, and we can not stand for this! The goats deserve better than that. Let us rally together before this goats totally out of hand.

A first year student, Eiji, has been found to have significant drawing talent. There are rumors that he may come on board for drawing in the daily dragon. It is unconfirmed if he will follow through or not, but the writers hope that his art will soon accompany their writings.
~ Is it illegal, or is it frowned upon?
My mantra. I ask myself daily, is what I'm about to do dangerous? It probably is. But is it illegal, or is it frowned upon? I have now began to compose a list of things that are illegal, verses things that are just frowned upon. 1. Stabbing people with a quill is frowned upon, stabbing them with a knife or sword, is illegal and probably life threatening. 2. Traveling by Floo and appearing inside someone's house unannounced is frowned upon, apparating underage and without a license is illegal. Actually going into someone's house unannounced may also be illegal. 3. Turning others into animals is frowned upon, but becoming an Animagus and not registering yourself is illegal (Sadly). 4. Sneaking up on someone and using Stupefy and Expelliarmus without them knowing you are dueling is frowned upon, but using Avada Kedavra is illegal. 5. While it's illegal to raise and own your dragon (they should be all in a dragon reserve), it's only frowned upon to destroy unhatched dragon eggs.

Fourth Year Journals ~ Is it healthy to be alone?
I have to wonder, is it healthy to be alone? I sit in my corner of the library, and realize I’ve become more observant of others. Rhea is laways in here with August, there’s some Ravenclaws across from me reading, they are here daily, and then there’s me. Lyra and I have come here every day, and made notes of what people do, and how they laugh with each other. Laughter is healthy. I do not experience it. I study more than ever before, and have gotten wonderful grades in my classes. This is good, but is it healthy? We don’t know.
~ Boggarts - The secret behind the fears
We all have to face our boggarts sometime. Whether that be an actual boggart, or just confronting our fears. Eventually, you have to face them, because if you don’t they will eat you alive. You will end up in a spiral of your own fear, until there is nothing else but fear itself. Boggarts can sense that fear, the dread in you, and they can show you what it is you fear, maybe even before you yourself know that you fear a thing. When that happens, the world comes into view, you know how you will survive. You will make it where your fear can never come true.
~ Crups - a Companion to train
Crups are supposedly aggressive towards muggles, but just like any creature, you can train them. Not necessarily train them out of their habits, but train them to go after other aspects. For example, instead of having them go after muggle scents, because that would be ridiculous if you yourself had a muggle mother, you teach her to attack those who say a specific word. She can channel her aggression into someone saying that word, and suddenly you have a great guard dog and companion. Someone who will love you when you are alone, but someone who will also tear someone apart when people use words you don’t like.
~ Secrets of the Third Floor - a Guide to navigating Hogwarts
What lies on the third floor? This roaming Slytherin is going to find out. Firstly, we get onto the staircase, and hope that it lands the right direction. It’s on a corridor, so here we go. Looks like a not very traveled hallway here folks. Oh look, some bookshelves, covered in dust, nothing too thrilling. A weird statue, going to have to figure that one out, won't we? A locked door, I don’t want to know what’s behind that one. I’ll leave that for your curious minds to figure out. That’s all readers, the third floor is very boring. I wouldn’t waste your time exploring it, although, maybe it will be of use to you if you want some quiet time so think about the depths of Hogwarts, and how much of it is not explored.

■ Vespera went into the exam ready to at least get an Acceptable, Jonah had quizzed her so many times about the stars and planets, she should know this. However, when she sat down and looked out the window, she blanked. Astronomy was a class taken at night, the Sun was out, the stars were not, and Vespera forgot nearly everything she knew about Astronomy. After barely answering any questions on the written portion, she managed to bring her grade up to dreadful during the practical portion... that was in the dark like astronomy should be. She could remember Jonah pointing out the constellations during class, and took that knowledge to complete the exam.
xxxCHARMS ~ EExxx
■ The theory of charms was easy enough, just studying the wand movements and the phrases. It was the practical that needed the most practice. Sona and Vespera took turns practicing spells giving each other different scenarios for when they would use what spell (a locked box, probably alohomora, but maybe bombarda to blow it up). When it came time for the practical portion of the exam, Vespera did very well (and did not blow up any boxes).
xxxDEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS ~ Axxx
■ Vespera struggled in the beginning of DADA, because she did not exactly like the course or the professor (especially after being chewed out). Vespera had began looking into what she wanted to do with her life, and thought about healing in her fourth year. Unfortunately, she needed to be in the NEWT level DADA to become a healer, and with that, Ves began studying a bit more diligently with DADA. She had to review quite a few pieces of material from previous years, and had August help her study after curfew. She did much better in the practical portion of the exam than the written portion, and managed to scrape by with an Acceptable.
xxxHERBOLOGY ~ Oxxx
■ Vespera always had a knack for herbology, which she picked up from her gardening with her mother. She took this love of plants with her throughout the classes, and the exam itself. Herbology was a bit different than muggle gardening, but she had started putting the witch plants that were of use or popular (such as Abyssinian Shrivelfig) in her summer garden, which made her study up on certain plants a bit more, even in the summer.
xxxHISTORY OF MAGIC ~ Pxxx
■ History never thrilled Vespera very much, so when it came time to study for OWLs, Vespera put her efforts in not History. It wasn’t until the day of that Vespera started to study, much to the dislike of August’s ramblings. Somehow she managed just barely a passing from what she remembered in class.

■ Vespera knew she had to get a decent OWL score on potions in order to continue on, so she cracked down. She spent part of her winter break with Sonora’s mother, helping with the potioneering office to get some extra practice. Also, she had always liked potions, second to herbology. When it came time to brew the potion for the practical portion, she made an outstanding brew, did half-decent on the written portion, and pulled out with exceeds expectations.
xxxTRANSFIGURATION ~ EExxx
■ Transfiguring items was always a fun way to pull a few pranks on Jonah. One second there’s a chair in the room, the next it was a cat. With this bit of spuratic practical practice of the spells, along with the occasional cram study, Ves did pretty well on the written portion, but did the best on the physical portion of the exam.

■ Vespera took a strong liking to healing in her third year, and in fourth year when she was isolating herself from her friends she buried into healing class, cross referencing their studies and texts with non-classroom texts. Vespera continued these study habits into her OWL year, while balancing friendships, which gave her the knowledge base to do quite well on the written portion of the Healing exam. When it came around to the practical portion of the healing exam, Ves did better than even she had expected. It probably came from her knowledge from reading, plus a bit of experience, such as going from half asleep to ready to examine a friend in a moments notice.
xxxSTUDY OF ANCIENT RUNES ~ Axxx
■ Ves enjoyed the idea of ancient runes, maybe being able to read older books, but she did not do well. Instead, she struggled with reading and translating the runes, but did pretty decent enough to translate a few lines of the script. However, she did mostly dreadful at reading aloud the scripts, especially when it came to Younger Futhark Runes, who needed the runes anyways? Ves was pretty excited to have scraped by with an acceptable, because maybe if she continued learning a few more runes she would be better at reading some older books of potions and healings.
xxxWANDLESS MAGIC ~ Axxx
■ Vespera had originally only went ot Wandless Magic to be able to better prank Jonah Lane with. She did fairly well with one spell, Wingardium Leviosa. Other than that, she was mediocre at wandless magic. Her fellow classmates offered assistance, and while struggling along side Sona, they managed to figure out better techniques for using wandless. When it came time for the exam, Vespera did fairly well at the written portion, the theory of wandless magic wasn’t an issue. However, when it came to the practical side of Wandless Magic, she did deserved a dreadful. Her grade managed to level itself out at just barely Acceptable.

Steffy note (please do not remove) : Vespera has been notoriously considered a bully and has said some inconsiderate things, but she is growing up, I promise. As for her past wrong doings, I would like to point to the statement that her books were at least 200 years old, and she is a child, the books coming from the 1800s are far from acceptable views of today. As her time at Hogwarts continues, she will form into a much more reasonable character of society. After being married, her father finally told her mother about witches and wizards, and that their children may end up being a part of this society, and hence arose the arguments of how their children would be raised. The couple moved into a wizarding neighborhood in England, somewhere that was surrounded by wizards, but the muggle world was close to.
Vespera took it upon herself to read into the books her mother had (surely wizarding customs couldn't have changed that much in 200 years) the dates of the books she had. and learned values and rules that her father would have wanted her to know. She still talked with her muggle friends, but didn’t spend as much time with them, her father surely wouldn’t want her associating with muggles (She hadn’t yet found the flaw in this logic, because her mother was a muggle). Vespera planned on having the best options available to her future, and knew she would be going to Hogwarts when she was 11 years old. She wanted to be the best there was for witches, and told herself this daily, even as she fell over her own two feet constantly.
SCHOOL YEARS
FIRST YEAR I understand plenty, my dear girl, don't you worry Now then, let's see, you've certainly got a way about you, eh? Not Gryffindor? You've got fire, for sure But, then if you're certain, I guess it'll be Slytherin!
Upon entering Hogwarts, Vespera was sorted into Slytherin. Before Hogwarts, Vespera met a few of her fellow classmates, but she shied away from them as they entered Hogwarts. They probably had better things to do than to see her, and thus, she started her school year out alone. Vespera knew she had to be at Hogwarts to be a great witch, but what would happen if she didn't want to do a traditional job such as her books taught her? She joined the team for the Daily Dragon, writing, hoping to discover what else she could do in the wizarding world. In this club, she befriended a Ravenclaw, named Jonah Lane. Jonah later introduced her to Sonora Li, and the three became close friends. After dropping who knows how many things on Jonah (leaves, snow, and eggs) Vespera was convinced she knew the levitating spell fairly well. She attended classes as expected, and struggled in a few, but her Ravenclaw acquaintances helped her pass her first year of classes.
SECOND YEAR
The summer prior to her second year, Ves spent alot of time meandering to herself, not sure what to do. She finally decided, showing up to Jonah's house at 3 in the morning was the perfect idea. A great way to scare him to death. Upon discussion, she began to change her views on muggles, slowly but she was conscious about it now. She spent much of the summer with Jonah's family, and began a pen pal relationship with Orion, Jonah's older brother. Second year was rather uneventful, Vespera had began to become bold in her classes, talking with her friends about whatever whenever, and throwing things at them.. She was caught and chewed out by the DADA Professor, and as a result, closed up into her little witch shell. By the end of the year, Vespera would occasionally speak up in class, but not often, just enough to prove she was paying attention. She never wanted to be on the bad side of a teacher again.
THIRD YEAR
Starting electives was defiantly the best part of the third year, Vespera got to look into what careers she would like to do in the future. However, in her core classes they went against a boggart. Her friends missed it, but the image was scarred in her mind, her friends leaving her because of her attitude. She swore she would be nicer to her friends, although it had resulted more into just backing off from her friends all together and isolating herself. Overall, a productive year. Although, for next year Vespera has dropped Care of Magical creatures, it just wasn't quite her thing.
FOURTH YEAR
After the previous year's boggart scare, Vespera was determined not to hurt her friends, she would simply avoid them, keep to herself, and that way her friends wouldn't reject her. They had other friends, they could hang out with them, meanwhile vespera would be on her own. During the magical creatures fair, Vespera entered a raffle, and managed to win a Crup Pup, who she called Lyra. Lyra was the runt of the litter, and Vespera fell in love. She trained the crup to not hate muggles as much as they tended to, her mother was a muggle, Lyra couldn't be snapping at her all the time.
Into the school year, Lyra came along with Ves, keeping her company as her other friends broke into couples and dates. Ves meanwhile, dug into her studies. She especially took into healing, doing extra research through the reference notes in the back, both muggle and wizardry. It was thrilling to bounce between the different texts, maybe muggles weren't all bad. Ves went that way most of the year, carefully avoiding the friends she had made, and studying. Until the end of the year when Sona ambushed Ves before exams, Vespera realized she had been being silly... maybe if she had just told her friends about the boggart instead of pushing them away, all the being alone wouldn't have been an issue. With that mindset, Ves went back into her usual hanging out with her friends, just in time to do her final studies.
FIFTH YEAR
Entering fifth year, Vespera knew she needed to reconcile with Jonah, and mend their friendship. She probably didn't do it the best way, by confronting him during a Daily Dragon meeting, but it was effective. Of course she still hadn't made up with Orion, after calling him a dog, that would take a while to mend probably.
Vespera spent her winter break with Sona, working with Sona's mother with potions, it was a rather interesting time honestly. After break though it was time to dig deep into studying for OWLs. She managed to get mostly decent grades., especially for those in which se would need good scores in to become a healer, even DADA (with some miracle). Jonah was disappointed in her astronomy scores, but what could be expected? Astronomy was a night time activity, not first thing in the morning! Overall, it was a pretty good year.
SIXTH YEAR
Vespera went forth with her sixth year, having less classes was heavenly. However, having more challenges was rough. She spent much of her free time studying, with a side of hanging out with her friends. Nothing too exciting happened, but over the summer she did do some work on healing potions with Sona's mother.
SEVENTHYEAR
Vespera studied hard, she needed to pass her NEWTs to become a healer. However, ther ewas one girl that was making it difficult, Aidene Kieran. She was an adorable one, and well, Ves and Aidene began to date. It was marvelous. Of course, Ves graduated with passing grades in her NEWTs, that didn't help her any with how she would handle her relationship with Aidene.
POST HOGWARTS
Ves struggled, as an beginning healer in training. She knew her stuff, but she had to make a living. She wanted to keep being with Aidene, but that was hard with their schedules. Eventually, her and Aidene broke up, Ves moved in with her former friend, Rion Lane, and she continued on with her healing training, hoping her friends would have kids soon, so she could hold their kids before they did, or at least help them out when they were hurt. Her true goals in life.
