[DUEL] Let's Get Ready to Rumble

Siri was fuming. How could he have lost to Nur like that?! He replayed the match over and over, watching in his mind when she had attacked. To him he couldn't see any flaw with his own attacks, she had just been stronger, faster, better. It wasn't fair! Clearly he needed more practice before trying to duel her again.

He was on the hunt for a new partner to spar with but his mind was racing so badly he didn't realize just how ill prepared he was to battle. All he wanted was revenge on someone that wasn't the lioness that had just kicked his butt, his face and shoulder still stinging from her claws. No way was he going to lose a second time! He'd prove to himself that his first success hadn't been a fluke and that he had earned his right to rank up rather than serving his time as Unbranded.

Still fuming, Siri didn't notice the adolescent until he was upon him and speaking to him. The dark male turned to face the younger, eyes narrowed at the question. This little punk thought he looked weak enough to duel despite being a fully fledged adult! What a little....

"Should have asked someone else," he snarled before falling upon the young male with an ear-splitting roar, claws flashing and teeth bared. The poor lion was going to get the brunt of his frustration and Siri would enjoy every moment of tearing into his opponent despite the age difference. He wouldn't lose to some random passerby who hadn't even grown into his mane yet! His anger at himself was so focused on his failure that his focus was non-existent, his paws swiping at air and occasionally at the lion. Perhaps if he took a moment to focus he'd be better off, but for now his emotions were fueling him.

While Siri was positive it was his ferocity that had startled the young male, it was probably more the flailing and showy nature that had made him miss his strike. Either way it emboldened Siri, proving to him that he wasn't a bad fighter, and he bound forward once more.

"You'll wish you'd never asked for a duel, cub," he snarled, landing a decent hit this time, his claws raking over the shoulder of the smaller male. He was going to kick his butt and feel good about it!

Overly-confident in himself, Siri didn't bother trying to block any attacks from the smaller male, assuming they'd miss. He was in for a shocking surprise when a deceptively powerful and painful hit landed on his face, claws raking over his cheek. His mane took the brunt of the slicing attack, but it did nothing to dull the brain-rattling smack that came with it.

Dizzy, Siri took a few steps back, trying to get some distance between himself and the other lion, his vision doubled and making any attack impossible.

Siri shook his head, trying to clear his vision, but it only made it worse. He staggered to the side and hissed quietly in frustration but that was all he had time for. The youth darted forward again and Siri flinched, unable to tell where the attack was coming from. Another blow landed on his shoulder - less painful but startling thanks to being unable to determine where it was coming from - and that was the final straw for Siri.

"Enough!" he bellowed, backing away as he tried to steady his vision. "Enough! Leave me!"

His plea for the battle to end seemed to be taken to heart, thankfully, and Siri didn't feel any further blows falling upon him. As the youth turned to face him Siri's vision finally settled, forming two lions into one. The name and the question made the older male bare his teeth in a grimace. Food? Now? No. He was already nursing his ego from the loss prior to this but losing to a child certainly hadn't helped.

Rather than saying something he'd later regret, Siri simply turned and walked away, shame following him as he went. Perhaps he really did get lucky on his first attempt. Maybe asking Nur for help wouldn't be the end of the world if it meant he could hold his own against others.
