12. Earthquake! It's minor, little more than a tremor, but still. It totally counts.

Chi was on her way home she had a long way to go yet and she had crossed many different areas of the rogue lands, some warm and some cold. She was now in a rocky area that didn't seem to have much life to speak of to be found in it. She had crossed this area before on her journey when she started and had not had any issues so she didn't think anything would happen on her return trip home. She felt the rocks under her paws and they were not a comfortable feeling but the sooner she got past this area the sooner she would be home in her den and back to work. She didn't feel like she had learned anything of any major weight, but she knew that was a possibility when she left home weeks ago. She looked around she didn't see many trees in this area and it was fairly hot out today. Then again this land was normally pretty hot and that was just how things were or were they. Chi didn't really get out enough to say for certain things weren't weird here. Perhaps she wasn't the best lioness for this mission but she had asked to go anyway.
Chi continued on her journey across the rocky landscape she was hot and her fur felt a bit dirty from her long journey she would need to clean her fur perhaps take a bath when she got home. She looked around her thinking and wondering how long it would be before she passed this area and made it to the forest that would lead her back to her homeland. She suddenly felt the earth shake under her paws, it wasn't very harsh much she still felt it so it was something to think on in this journey. Earthquakes, skin holes, monsoon, what was going on with the world that all these things were happening so close to each other? She had only been away from home for a few weeks and it was like a dark cloud of natural disasters was following her. This certainly wasn't normal and the more she thought on the matter the more she thought that was the answer things were not normal in the land outside their pride. Things were very screwy.

She had been lucky though she hadn't been hurt in any of the things she had faced, feeling the quake under her paws and thinking about the sinkhole if she had fallen into the hole she could have gotten badly hurt, but it seemed something was on her side since she had gotten out of every situation unharmed. She smiled. Then she chuckled thinking what it would be like if she were the goddess of luck or if perhaps the goddess of luck was on her side this trip and looking out for little Chifundo. It was a silly thought and she had no way to prove her thought nor did she feel the need to prove if she had luck on her side. She hadn't fallen in that sinkhole or off a cliff what that little earthquake had struck. So who knew what would happen and if she was meant for something bigger in this lifetime or the next.
Chi made her way away from the rocky ground and the earthquake that had shaken the ground it wasn't anything major she hadn't even fallen down, she had a spring in her step as she made her way into the forest and she scent a river nearby that she had her heart on getting too since it had been a long time since she had any water as she tried to get past the rocky ground that stretched like a dead land. She sighed deeply breathing in the wet air near the river the forest felt so much cooler then the rocky land had and she was glad to be that much closer to home. She smiled as she went towards the river, she knew it was safe and she didn't have much to worry about her. She leaned down and took her drink as the sun was setting. She could see the stars coming out to play. She grinned she felt like the stars were calling her home. She could finish this trip tonight and report to her leaders all she had learned in the rogue lands of the natural disasters that were striking the land.

The closer Chifundo made it to home the faster she ran she was looking forward to being back home, this was where she belonged even if there was a large world outside of her little pride and strangers at the border that she needed to deal with from day to day this would always be Chi's home till the day she died and moved on to whatever the next chapter would be in her life. After her time away from home she didn't even really mind the ghost lights at the border of the kusini lands. She ignored them as she headed home and off to find the leaders to make her report. She was also looking forward to sleeping in her den where she didn't have to worry about keeping one eye open as she slept. She had the protection of the pride here at home and the hunters. She had her job which was pretty easy compared to hunting by herself. She guarded the Kusini lands and she had met that Crow male which had been interesting. She wondered if she would ever see him again. She shrugged it didn't matter all that much they had their time together and it had been fun she didn't think anything would come of their time together. She was finally home. She made her report and then went straight to her den for a much-needed nap. She flopped down in her den and was asleep in moments so tired that she didn't even dream of the blasted ghost lights.
