The orange lioness sighed as she watched thick, black clouds roll across what used to be a clear sky. Something had been up with the weather lately and it looked like it was going to continue. The corners of her mouth turned down in a frown while she watched.
Makini now had to figure out if she was going to keep hunting, or find her way back to her den for the day. She was hungry. It wasn't easy hunting when it was raining all the time and your food was constantly hiding from the downpour or looking for higher grounds in case of a flood. Flooding was a serious issue for a lot of the prides around here. Some of the were perfectly situated in valleys that couldn't drain enough.
It was one of the reasons she was really glad that she could roam wherever, had nothing to take with her, no cubs or anything to worry about.
Her target was a group of klipspringers not too far off. She wanted a fresh kill today instead of finding some poor leopard's left overs in a tree.
