Club Description: The Pokémon Research Club is a club meant for researching and observing different types of Pokémon. Instead of doing researching on your own you get to do it together as a group. Members will learn how to share their findings with others and everyone will get to see many kinds of Pokémon.
Members will observe Pokémon behaviour and interacts in the wild around or off campus Record their findings (ie. written / sketches / videos / pictures) Members will also learn better notetaking skills as well as artistic skills Members share their research with the group in order to learn from one another Members can also bring research they’ve done not during club time to share with the group what they learned
Club Goal: The goal of the club is to teach members to be more observant and allow them to see how Pokémon interact and behave in the wild. It also teaches members how to share information with one another and work together to learn something new.

Marcus sat going through papers filled with ideas for the research club. He wasn't the president but he had helped Evy found it and so he felt he should help think up ideas for the fair. Out of habit he looked through his phone. No messages. He considered texting Ava or Tera but decided against it. He hadn't felt like talking to people since his visit to Ren. Speaking of, that visit had ended on an unexpected note. Ren had asked him to befriend Ashley Langford and had given him some information about her and how to go about it. Marcus had been more than happy to obligue. More friends, the better right? Ren had also instructed him to text Ray and to bring him in for a session himself. Marcus had been...less thrilled about that. He had stayed up all night considering what he could even say to Ray that wouldn't sound bothersome or clingy. Finally he had settled for "did you get my present?" and gone to bed. He wasn't even sure how he was going to get Ray to go see Ren but hey it was a start.

Didn't really remember what happened with the girl he had been speaking to with before the ceremony. He thought that maybe they were becoming friends, but as soon as they got to the auditorium they had to separate to their respective houses. He wasn't able to find her after that, and he was told that a club fair was going on. He knew he should set something up for his own booth, but he had no idea what he should even do. He had put on his costume, since the academy was having some sort of event going on. It... couldn't hurt right? So he just threw something together and dressed as a werewolf for it. He decided to walk towards the photography room, but he paused half-way through before he looked down at his pokegear.
He pursed his lips as his eyes lowered at the small screen. He stared at the message that was popped up on the center of it. He had meant to respond back, but he just didn't know what he was supposed to say. Ray hadn't exactly been nice to Marcus, and Ray knew that Marcus probably hated him for it. Then again he has sent him that notebook, and deep down Ray knew that Marcus wasn't mad at him. Still Ray was scared. What should he say? His aunt spoke with him, and he knew Ray was in the wrong here. He sighed, rubbing his eyes a bit. He hadn't been sleeping well lately, and it seemed like the nightmares had been getting worse.
The latest one scared him the most though, the nightmare that involved his friends... that involved Marcus. His hands were shaking at the mere memory of the nightmare, and he closed his eyes and took deep breaths. It wasn't real, the nightmare wasn't real. He'd keep telling himself that until he believed it... if only it were that easy to accept. He could hear himself breathing a bit heavily, but eventually he evened out his breathing. It's ok, he was alright. Deep breaths. Right, ok. Once he calmed down, he looked down at the message again.
He bit the bottom of his lip, before deciding that he needed to speak with Marcus. Ray owed him that much, after all Marcus had tried to help him. Ray thought he'd gotten better but... it was like he was fluctuating between recovering and regressing back to the point he thought he was originally past. It was confusing and frustrating, because Ray couldn't seem to get over the grief. It was like he was being slowly poisoned... over and over and over again. Nothing seemed to cure him. That meant that there was something wrong with him right? That Ray was slowly poisoning those around him? He groaned, there he goes again...
He hadn't realized that he was still walking as he was in such deep thought. He looked up, trying to figure out where exactly his feet had taken him. He noticed a club room... the research club? Wasn't that the club Marcus was in? Ray froze, as he caught sight of brown hair and a shape that looked oddly like Marcus. Oh... oh wait that WAS Marcus in there. Ray went pale. Should... should he go in and talk with him? Was now an appropriate time? Ray gulped, and fiddled with his fingers. If he didn't do it now, when would he? There didn't seem to be anyone else in the room at the moment. It should be ok right? Ray could do this... he could totally do this. Ray took deep breaths, trying to calm his fast beating heart.
He took some steps forwards, steps that made it feel like he was walking in mud. Why was this so much harder than he thought? All he had to do was walk up and talk to him! Ray continued forwards, but froze in front of the door. He looked guiltily at the floor. What if... what if Marcus didn't WANT to see him. Would he... would Marcus be mad at Ray? Ray wouldn't blame him if he was mad at him. He gulped, suddenly feeling as if it was too hot in the room all of a sudden. He opened his mouth a few times attempting so say something, anything. However, nothing came out. He managed to take a step forwards, before gracefully falling forwards due to slipping on his cape.
He yelped, frantically trying to catch himself to no avail. He crashed straight into the floor face first, crying out in panic as it happened. He let out a groan, before he curled into a ball and head his hands "ow.. owww... owwwwww" he hissed, tears invading his eyes. He looked up and noticed Marcus was now looking towards him, however, the tears blurred his vision so Ray didn't see how he had reacted. He tried to get up, to apologize and tell Marcus he hadn't meant anything he said. However, Ray was pretty sure his voice was a jumbled mess of unintelligible words. It took some time for him to get himself together, but he tried to look at Marcus with his still teary eyes "I'm sorry!" he cried out.

Marcus had been looking over the different research he and Eve had done, hoping it would lead to some idea as to what their booth should be. It was supposed to be halloween themed so maybe something about spooky pokemon. He looked over the charts he had made in his first year about the general migration of pokemon in the forest of ordell....yeah there weren't any real scary pokemon there. Man I wish there was an absol....maybe it could tells us when bad things were gonna happen like- Here his brain cut off as it tended to do when he thought about certain events at the end of the year. What had happened that was bad at the end of the year again? Nothing, nothing had happened....which was what made everything so weird. Marcus often felt like there was something he needed to remember. Something to do with his friends and the gym but it always skirted away from the periphery of his memory. Okay so there aren't like scary pokemon here...maybe we can still talk about it? Glad that he had brought the chunky old laptop he often used to skype and play with his cousins, the boy started looking for information on spooky pokemon. Ghost pokemon weren't his strong point and he'd have to do some further research, he groaned inwardly at the idea of needing to read books...maybe he could find a documentary on it? Anything to get out of his most dreaded activity. He was so absorbed in looking at pokemon that people considered spooky ( so most ghost and dark pokemon) that he didn't notice when someone walked in...didn't notice until he heard a familiar voice cry out as he apparently fell on the floor "Ray?" he looked up from the papers on his desk walking over to help steady the boy on instinct, helping him stand upright. It took a while before he realized Ray probably didn't Want his help as it probably wasn't too happy with Marcus last time they met. "It..it's okay" he said his hands going to his sides as Ray apologized ( for falling? What-?) "Ray it's not like you fell on purpose", he fiddled with the sleeves of the Kigu he was wearing. This one was a kaiju one from the old movies he used to watch with his uncle Elliot. So he liked Kigus, sue him. He hadn't been able to get a proper custome and it was Cold Okay. Okay. "How....how have you been?" he asked before looking down again. Stupid, that was a stupid question. Ray's sister was still dead, he was being so stupid. But he didn't know what else to say. "Did you..did you wanna talk?" His question was amicable enough but Marcus hoped it didn't sound too well..hopeful, for all he knew Ray just wanted to talk about the clubs or something and still considered Marcus someone to be mad at. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and waited, giving Ray the chance to talk.

Ray sucked in a breath as he heard Marcus call out his name. Did Marcus sound confused, or was Ray just hearing things? Marcus helped steady him, helping him stand upright. Marcus was helping him, did that mean that he wasn't really mad at him? He held his breath, leaning a bit into his friends embrace. However, that hope was squashed by the sudden retreat of Marcus arms. Ray tensed, Marcus was still mad at him wasn't he? He probably helped him because that's who Marcus was, but... but it must have been instinctual. Ray's heart sank at the thought. Of course... of course he wouldn't just be forgiven so easily. What was Ray thinking. Ray felt the tears coming back, and bit the bottom of his lip.
He looked up again, trying to hide the hurt and sadness he was feeling. Ray deserved it after all. Ray made a face as Marcus stated that he hadn't fell on purpose. Was... was he referring to his apology? No, no Ray wasn't apologizing for falling! He probably deserved it, but that's not what he meant! He opened his mouth to correct Marcus, but the fear shut him up. His lips quivered a bit, and he fiddled with his fingers nervously. He looked up again when Marcus asked him how he was. Was Marcus forcing himself to talk with Ray? Marcus shouldn't look like that, he shouldn't look so defeated and sad.
Ray closed his eyes as Marcus then asked if he wanted to talk. Did he? Yes... yes of course Ray wanted to talk with Marcus. He wanted to apologize... to beg for his friends forgiveness. Ray clenched his hands "no... I'm... I'm not sorry for falling I... I probably deserved that!" he spoke quickly. Ray was pretty sure his voice cracked a bit there, probably from the nightmares he supposed. As wanted to run, he WAS going to run from the room. The nightmares though... the nightmares are what made him stay in place. He could do this, he needed to do this. He couldn't just hide anymore, he needed to make things right no matter how much pain it might bring in the end.
Ray looked at Marcus "I'm sorry, I... I'm sorry about the stuff I said before about how you're not my friend, but... you were my friend and you did so much for me and... and what did I do? I just... I just threw it all away and I... I called you a liar when you're not one" he began, his voice shaking. He closed his eyes "you don't have to say anything I... I know you must be furious with me, after what I did to you after I... I practically ruined our friendship but I... I..." he started chocking up. He wrapped his arms around himself as if he was trying to keep himself from shattering into a million pieces "I was terrified" he whispered.
He needed to explain, needed to tell Marcus everything. He didn't even tell Kirsi everything. Marcus deserved to know, Ray owed him that much. Ray didn't bother to open his eyes, he didn't want to see what face Marcus was making right now. He took a shaky breath "I was terrified, I... I didn't want to feel anymore pain, I didn't want to lose anything else. I tried to be normal I... I tried to forget you know? I wanted to move on and to feel like I was ok... but I wasn't ok, I'm... I'm not ok..." he said, laughing sadly. He continued "I was in so much pain... I just wanted it to end, and I ran from everything to avoid even more pain and look what that got me. I made it worse for everyone around me, I was just... I was poisoning everyone around me because I was just trying to protect myself from the pain. You didn't deserve it, no one did... you shouldn't have had to deal with my baggage and I... I'm trying to get better but... I feel like i'm drowning. One minute I'm almost to the surface, and then the next im sinking even further into the deepest abyss" he said.
He opened his eyes and looked at the floor, still refusing to look Marcus in the eyes "I know you're busy so I'll... I'll just make this quick. I'm sorry, I never meant to snap at you like that and I... I'm not mad, never mad just hurting... You probably don't want to see me anymore, but I needed to tell you I... needed to apologize to you, you were my friend Marcus... you were always my best friend please don't doubt that... never doubt that please..." he said, before turning around so his back was to his former friend.
He took a shaky breath, trying to hold in a sob as he tried his best to rub the tears away with his arm "I... just wanted you to know that I never meant to hurt you... I just... I couldn't stand the thought of losing someone else. I made a choice to throw everyone away before they could throw me away... I didn't want to be alone again, so I rejected everyone... I didn't know at the time but that was what I was doing I was just... I just wanted to be alone and I hurt you by trying to save myself... some friend I was huh?" he said hollowly. Ray sniffled, before making his way to the door slowly "I... guess I'll let you get back to your club activities... I'll try to not get in your way anymore and I... I try to avoid you so you don't have to see my face anymore, I can do at least that much... I know you probably want nothing to do with me anymore so I'll... I'll just go. Good... bye Marcus" he said, crying out the last part as he made his way towards the door to leave.

Marcus stared a Ray stated that he wan't apologizing for falling...that he probably deserved it. "No you don't." he said simply because he...no matter what had happened between them Ray didn't deserve to just randomly fall. He didn't deserved punishment. I really didn't help him as much as I could have. Before he could say anything however, Ray was apologizing again. This time about calling him a liar. Marcus listened calmly as Ray said he ruined their friendship. He wanted to say that wasn't true but didn't get much of a chance to since Ray was on a roll. He told Marcus that he hadn't meant to throw friendships away, that he was just trying to make sure he wasn't thrown neither. Marcus figured he could understand that...much as this felt all above his paygrade...he supposed Ray wanted something to be his choice even it was him being alone. "It...it's okay" he said before Ray was saying he understood if Marcus didn't want to see him again-wait what. "That's not-" he said reaching out for him "Ray..open your eyes" But Ray was already running off. Marcus gave a sigh before leaving after him, his research and notes forgotten. Thinking fast the boy released Valiant. The Vigoroth stood at the doorway, somehow knowing he had to block Ray's way out. "I never said you ruined my friendship" Marcus finally said now that he had Ray secured from running away. "You..you didn't." How had things gotten so messed up anyways. "I still wanna be your friend Ray" he said fidgeting with the sleeves of his kigu "I mean...if you still wanna."

Ray didn't hear Marcus chasing after him. Ray didn't want to see how Marcus looked at him, the other boy was probably not going to forgive him that easily after all. Ray had done something terrible to him after all, it wouldn't be surprising. Instead, Ray focused on getting out of the room, he just needed to find some place he could be alone. He just... he needed to cry, and even though he promised himself he wasn't going to that wasn't possible right now. He was already crying anyways. His chest hurt, and he knew it was because he was going to lose his best friend all because Ray had been stupid.
To Ray's surprise and shock, a Pokemon he's never even seen before was blocking his path. Ray panicked, where did that Pokemon come from?! It wasn't in the room when Ray had come in! Ray felt trapped, his heart pounding in his chest. What was he supposed to do now? He closed his eyes, a sob coming out of his mouth from the panic. He barely heard the words that came out of the other boys mouth. He tensed as he heard Marcus state that he never said that Ray had ruined their friendship. Ray didn't breath, what did that even mean? Ray couldn't move, couldn't turn to look at the boy too afraid to hope. The next words made him suck in a breath. Did... did Marcus say that he didn't? That... that Ray hadn't ruined their friendship?
Ray must have heard that wrong, Marcus still wanted to be his friend? Did he ask if Ray still wanted to be friends? This couldn't be real, was Marcus seriously not mad at him? How could he not be mad at him for what he had done? Ray shook, before turning around and moving towards Marcus. Ray was terrible with words, so Ray would have to just show Marcus how much his friendship meant to him. He hugged Marcus close, crying into his shoulder as he held the other boy close "of course I... I want to be friends!" he sobbed out. He cried and shook as he held the other boy "You're my best friend and I... I did something terrible to you and I... I don't want to lose you, I don't want to lose anyone else please... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" he cried out. He didn't know what else to say, he was an emotional mess and Ray was afraid that his hope would be squashed any minute now. He kept his face buried in Marcus' shoulder, too ashamed to look the other in the eye.
