Strange Weather ☂

Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Prompt

As Spring rolls into Summer in Tendaji it appears that something is not as it should be. In fact, strange and unpredictable weather is happening all across the world. Strong storms, bizarre heat waves, unheard of snow storms, floods, and other similar events are happening in all of the countries. Some are superstitious, seeing it as a warning of great evil, others blame the Dretch, some shrug it off as a freaky incident, and others ignore that it's even such an oddity.

However, one thing is certain - all the lands are dealing with these weird weather outbreaks in their own way. How are you handling matters? Do you try to help others, are you too focused on yourself, or do you want to try and find answers for the causes behind these recent events? Or did you get caught out in the disaster yourself and these are your memories of how you had to fight against the odds to get to safety?

Basically this is a solo (or a rp with a friend) to write out how your character is being affected by these strange occurrences in Tendaji.

Please see the below to see what is occurring in each region!

Chibale and Matori are both suffering from snow - something that has rarely hit these warmer countries before! A blizzard especially is unheard of.

Jahaur and Yael are experiencing drought. Rain hasn't fallen for the last couple of weeks...

Tale, Sauti, and Oba are experiencing massive amounts of rain to the point that some of the desert is flooding.

Zena is having the strangest heat wave and some areas once covered year-round with snow and ice are even starting to melt...

Belrea is shaken. Literally. A huge earthquake has ripped through the continent scaring many and even now faint rumbles from its impact shift at random beneath your feet

The thing about living close to the border was that he could see and hear about things that were happening on both sides. Jax often asked travelers for information and news coming from Oba. But there was one thing he didn't have to ask about. The weather.

Standing on strong branch at the top of a tall tree he stared past the invisible border and into Oba. Ominous clouds hung over the land and rain poured down in merciless waves. The desert was flooding. Something that left him speechless since he was fairly sure that being a desert meant that there was little to no rain fall. Still, Jax followed the clouds with his eyes and noticed that the entire horizon was covered with them. There would be no break for those living inside the boarders of the Fire Territory.

It made him worry just a little bit about the rest of his mother's side of the family. Even though she never really spoke of them he knew she still cared and worried that they might need her help. Not that he understood at all how his mother thought she could do anything. She was a dancer not a fighter.

Peeling his eyes away from the dark storm that was hovering over Oba he turned in place on the branch and looked inward at Jahaur. It was the opposite. Dry. Hot. Miserable. Jax was also fairly sure that to be a jungle it had to rain.

To him it was as though the weather had decided to switch places in Jahaur and Oba. As if it would be a cruel joke to play on those who lived in both places. A shake of his head had him trying to figure out just what was happening with the world. Was it the same for the other places? Was Tendaji coming to an end?

“I sure hope not. I still need to see the rest of the world.” He spoke to himself.

He continued to stare out at the trees and the evaporating clouds that were so familiar to his homeland. With a shake of his head he could hardly believe what was going on. With nothing more to do than stare from one side to the other Jax gave a last look to Oba and it's storms then began the climb down. His camp was in need of water and he knew that some of the men were going to take buckets down to the river before it dried up. Jax figured that he should join them and make sure that his mother was cared for. He didn't want her to go without something to drink or water to clean up with. Her appearance was what brought them money, well, that and her dancing, but if she looked dirty then he didn't think she would make as much.

Along the way back down to the ground he noticed how brittle the bark of the tree had become. It too was trying to conserve the moisture it had. Jax frowned and stopped mid climb so that he could look at the surrounding trees. He wanted to know if they all were as brittle or if this particular tree was just overreacting. He had learned from his father that trees had personalities and grew slightly different from their brothers right beside them. There were always differences in the trees, one just had to look closely enough.

Sadly what he saw was the same reaction in the other trees. Or at least the ones that were close enough for him to really see. His frown deepened and he once more started to climb back down to the ground. He knew he couldn't waste water to help the trees out but he did worry about the jungle. If the trees completely dried out then they would rot and once they did they would become unstable. They could fall at any moment. Or a branch could come crashing down without warning. It didn't help that the camp he and his family lived in was in the middle of a tight knit group of trees. If one of them fell or a branch decided to detach itself then someone would get hurt.

He would need to voice his concerns after he helped collect water for the camp. Maybe one of the older members would know what to do or could reassure him that the danger he thought he saw was not as imminent as he thought.
