Vepkhia had a few small bags tied to her back after picking some supplies up from the market and made her way out of surprisingly empty town. Everyone had kind of seemed panicked and were either staying in their own homes or were out in the Jauharan forests like she was about to be. The extra weight she was carrying caused her to work up a sweat much quicker than she would have before, even with it not being all that much. Vep had decided to go to a watering hole she knew of. Her father had told her it was fed from an underground spring since it seemed the bottom was so far away. She was almost there when she heard sounds of fighting. Taking it as a warning, she climbed into a tree that overlooked the small pond. There were radaku fighting, presumably for the water which was surprisingly low. If it was spring fed as her father had said, shouldn't there be more than that?

Jauhar had been experiencing a drought. The little shifter had hoped that if she made an offering to Serin where she knew there would be some water maybe it would rain again. But unfortunately, even this place had little water and there was no way she was going to be able to get down to the watering hole with all the beasts fighting below. Now would be an excellent time for her to be big and strong like her brother Kresimir, or beast savvy like her dad or sister Seze. For now, all she could do was wait above in the tree.

Was he back in Sauti? Holding out a hand Verosh frowned as the silent white flakes from the sky above slowly drifted down into his open palm. Strangely enough it didn't dissipate instantly and instead threatened to stick. Such a response had the hybrid boy raising a brow before he glanced around the open area in which he was standing. Normally it would only be full of crystal grasses decorated by only the rare beams of sunlight that took advantage of the gaps in the trees. Yesterday, however, it was faintly adorned in the white lace of snow which drapped across the sea of teal and emerald grasses like the veil of an innocent bride. It was a shame that he had to leave that picturesque field behind to instead wander over the boundary lines and into Jahaur.

Others in the tribe had been curious about how Jahaur was faring in this strange weather and Verosh had volunteered to go explore. Mostly he felt that some of the pures thought to belittle him again with this miniscule task but Verosh was determined to turn it into a feat. So obviously when he heard the sounds of fighting radaku the hybrid boy braced himself and lowered his spear in preparation for battle.

From the appearance of that water hole it did seem that Jahaur was indeed experiencing a drought while Chibale gained snow. Was that a sign of the mother's protection over the Sisters? It was a curious thought but one that Verosh held back on before darting forward into the fray.

How could Vepkhia get the radaku to first stop fighting and then secondly move on and away from the watering hole? If it were her brother who she looked up to so much, he'd just jump down and get them to chase him away before climbing a tree quickly and out of their range and sight. But Vepkhia wasn't strong or fast enough for that. She'd tire much before they would. If Seze were here, she'd use her whip to manipulate the beasts. But Vepkhia didn't have a whip, or even a weapon for that matter. The shifter groaned as she dangled her feet from the branch. In doing so, she began to lose her balance and tip backwards. In a panic, she corrected herself and clung to the tree but it wasn't without repercussions. One of her bags fell, its knot must have gotten pulled free somehow, and Vepkhia watched as it fell uselessly to the ground. Except, not completely useless. It caught the group of Radaku's attention and all four of them went to inspect it. That particular bag only had herbs in it, at least Vep was pretty sure, so they shouldn't be all that interested. But how could she make this work to her advantage? There didn't seem to be a way.

Verosh had been intent on chasing down the radaku but the sudden noise stopped his pursuit. Freezing in place the hybrid boy instead opted to crouch down and observe. It was dry and he realized that they had been fighting over the waterhole, meaning even if he did bring back a few pelts others would just assume he had picked on the weakened creatures. It brought a quiet snarl of frustration from him but it was what it was.

Turning he pondered leaving before slowly glancing back again. Slipping forward silently the young warrior peered from the shadows of the trees, his azul gaze burning with curiosity as he tried to study exactly who or what was above him in the trees. More importantly he was interested in seeing what they planned to do about the radaku.

The shifter girl thought she heard something else beneath her and clung tighter to the tree. What was she going to do? She had angry radaku beneath her and something else and she needed those herbs for her offering! "What would Momma do...what would momma do..." she whispered to herself. Momma would probably capture them for Daddy and Seze to train. But that wasn't' an option. "Oh why do I have to be so weak!" Vepkhia said louder than she had intended. She clapped her hand over her mouth and hoped the beasts below hadn't heard her. With a sigh she began to weigh her options again. Maybe...if she snuck along the branches she could get over above the water, or at least close enough that she could toss her offerings in. Yeah that would work. Vepkhia tiptoed over until the branch started to bend and then she lept to the next branch, making sure to cling to it plenty before moving on. She continued this until she was close enough to the water. With her legs wrapped around the thick branch she took her various bags off her back. "Serin," she said in a low voice. "Please accept these offerings as an apology to anything my people have done to cause you to inflict us with this drought." She put in some fruit and berries first. "The shifters are suffering with the lack of water, as well as the native, and not native, beasts. Please, restore our water and rain to what it once was!" She emptied all her bags of fruits and vegetables and even some polished stones and jewelry. Hopefully Serin would listen to her prayer!

He found himself watching the girl. As time passed he first was impressed that she had managed to get her way across the branches towards the watering hole but then as even more time passed and he saw her intention the hybrid boy had to pause and blink. Then he blinked some more as all the various items tumbled to the ground below. By Aisha's grace what is she thinking? He watched as the radaku paused in their fighting to stare at the ground where suddenly fruits and vegetables and even shiny things were gathering up. Since Verosh was raised by an earthling as well as an Alkidikie he knew the value of some of those shiny objects and the realization made him move forward. Even worse was the fact that he saw that the area was affected by a drought while Chibale was covered in snow and yet this girl was dumping food carelessly?

If it was to chase the radaku away then he personally could deal with them. Something which made him grit his teeth before moving forward with his spear into the clearing.

Vepkhia settled herself on the branch again having given everything to Serin that she could find. She wondered if she had found more if it would help. But, it was what it was. Hopefully it would work. The girl sighed, the radaku were still eyeing the water curiously when she noticed the underbrush below where she had previously been start to move and a hybrid emerged heading towards the radaku and the water. There wasn't much much she could do. If she called out to him, she put them both in danger. Instead, she started waving her hand to try and get his attention and shooing him to go away. In doing so, she lost her balance and began tipping over the branch. Vep barely saved herself by wrapping her legs around the tree limb with a panicked look.

"Aisha have mercy." Verosh cursed under his breath, a mix of earthling sayings included, before dashing forward. Originally he had planned on fighting the radaku so that he could salvage whatever the girl had tried to waste in the precious water left from the drought. Now, however, he found himself moving forward so that he could charge towards the beasts which were circling the shifter who was hanging precariously from the tree limb. Why did she try to wave at him like that? She should have just left instead of worrying about what he was doing! His mind had already been made up to fight so why would it bother her? What bothered him was all that precious food and materials that were tossed into the small pool of water. If all shifters acted so then he could see why his Sisters were constantly frustrated with the earthling presence near their lands. Gritting his teeth Verosh kicked up some of the dry dirt before throwing his spear before one of the beasts which had started trying to climb up the tree towards the girl.
