The whole Weyr felt as if a sleepy silence had settled in that morning. V’mel would likely be waking soon to gather up the Rainstorm kids and establish his dominance as a functional adult over the struggling youth that was the tired Ashlings...but Ichta wasn't quite ready to wake up yet. She felt like a lump of exhaustion, still dressed in her riding gear from the day before. Even a gentle mental nudge at her bond yielded a wave of exhaustion from Aurinkoth. He clearly also wanted to sleep.

She at least made an earnest attempt to remain curled up for a time more, the sound of snoring almost cathartic white noise. Though it was a lot of snoring…..

Opening one eye, despite her better judgement for more sleep, the young woman managed to not startle upon discovering she had a bed mate. Ichta wasn't certain if she would have considered G’ran’s sleeping expression peaceful, but it brought a certain peace to her. Though it did beg a few questions that were quickly answered as she sat up to gather her bearings. This….wasn't her weyr. Her confusion safely sated, the young woman took a moment to look down over the sleeping man, smiling to herself.

Aurinkoth had cozied himself up with his brother on the ledge, which left her with few options for simply leaving. She shook her head with amusement as she got up.

A brief check of the facilities of the brownrider’s weyr made her reach out to….the last being she'd been wanting to for such a quiet morning. Naughty Boy proved her right for such reservations, appearing with a loup SNAP from between and practically throwing a medium sized tin at her. Ichta fumbled to catch it before it clattered to the floor as the firelizard swooped off to find where Pretty Girl had nestled up to cause mischief.

He was a free spirit, at least.

Still, there was nothing quite like her own blend of Klah to start the morning. As the kettle heated up, she hummed idly to herself. She could feel the sleepy waves of affection and happiness radiating off of her bonded even in his sleep, but it certainly wasn't the only thing that put her in a good mood.

They were alive, and the two greatest loves she had in her life were both so close by. Though she did wonder if her personal tastes in klah would perhaps not be sweet enough for another’s palette. She just enjoyed the natural spice of the drink without much addition. Maybe he would find something to enjoy about it too, if only that she liked it so much. She enjoyed the scent as the ground bark settled in the hot water, changing tunes as she stirred idly. It wasn’t a complicated drink, but….it was nice. The whole procedure of it helped ground Ichta to keep her from venturing into the stress of the day before.

Aurinkoth cracked open an eye, looking towards her with a low rumble as greens and blues whirled in it. You are in a good mood. he observed privately to her and she smiled, nudging her mental presence up against his as if her forehead was touched to his in the silent kiss she shared only with dragons - and even then, very few of them. You are well, Ours are well. The day was not the most joyful of days, but….it wasn’t the worst. she admitted to him as she sipped at one of the steaming cups, testing the flavor before adjusting it - she wanted a bit more kick.

It has nothing to do with waking up to see him first thing in the morning? he asked innocently. Ichta glanced over towards the bed, smiling to herself. She’d have been lying if she said it hadn’t been pleasant, if not a bit confusing, initially. I see you every morning, am I different this morning? she asked. Aurinkoth seemed to laugh across their bond. Well you never make me klah! he offered as a difference. Ichta laughed out loud. You can barely even eat fruit, dear. Not that it ever stopped her from offering him a few slices of whatever craving he had given her that day. Aurinkoth seemed satisfied with this answer.

Her interrogation seemingly done, and now content with the flavor the drink offered, Ichta carefully carried the two cups over to the bed, blowing the steam off of one to cool as she sat down on the opposite side of the sleeping G’ran. Quietly, she leaned over to kiss the side of his forehead.

Then, she waited. Maybe his drink would be properly cool by the time he was awake enough to take it from her.

((/KICKS THAT SOLO TAG INTO OBLIVION))

G'ran slept like the dead.

They'd flown with their Weyr successfully for the first time. They'd weathered raging winds and searing thread, dealt with the loss of one of their own and beat themselves up with guilt when they'd let the silver menace slip past them. But they'd survived, and they had fought to live another day. Still, it was no wonder that G'ran was sleeping so soundly, and Elzebuth was equally out. Little things began to rouse him, soon enough. It was the feather-light touch against his brow, and the sweet, enticing smell of klah. Shards, klah.... Never before had he been able to drink such a luxury in the mines.

Groggily, he forced his eyes open... and immediately groaned out loud when he was hit with a myriad of aches and pains. The healers had treated his scores, but Shards, his body was sore... but there was Ichta, sitting quietly on the side of his bed. Unconsciously, his lips curled up in a smile even as he stared at her, still half-out of it.

Elzebuth was still slumbering, his neck curled around Aurinkoth. G'ran felt for him sleepily and then let him go, not about to wake the brown. His poor wing joints were still strained from their very first Threadfall, and G'ran knew he'd have to seek the dragonhealers for ways he could relieve his brown's aches and pains.

"'lo." He croaked sleepily, reaching out with a big hand to gently place it on her knee. She'd fallen asleep in here and he certainly hadn't been about to wake her... Not after knowing that either one of them could have died yesterday, just like Cheza. He didn't allow himself to linger on the thought, not about to be upset. Not now. Not with her here.

Slowly, groaning softly between his teeth, G'ran forced himself to sit up and stretch. He was sore.... A hot soak was possibly in order. "S'good to see you." He said sleepily, leaning forward to press his lips to her brow.

And it was. A much better sight than an empty weyr.

((RIP Solo tag))

She could have contented herself on watching him rest, Faranth knew that they all deserved the rest after the day before. Aurinkoth had more or less dozed back off, the feeling of exhaustion filtering back through their bond a strange parallel to watching G'ran rouse from his own, smiling back at him without even thinking about it.

"Good morning," she greeted softly, resting the side of one of her (very preoccupied) hands over the one on her knee. "Did you sleep alright?"

Her heart gave an involuntary flutter when he kissed her forehead, leaning into it just barely. "I don't actually remember dropping in last night," she admitted sheepishly, before holding out one of the cups she held to him. It would have been silly to forget that she'd actually woken him to give it to him. Well, if he'd remained sleeping she would have found somewhere to keep it. Probably set something on top to keep the warmth in. Ichta had actually not thought that far ahead.

The moment was simply good enough to not worry about any other time.

"Hadn't slept that good in years." He answered truthfully, feeling his jaws creak from a barely suppressed yawn. He reached out to accept the warm cup with a grunt of thanks, already perking up at the smell of klah. Such a sweet luxury had never been spared to poor mine laborers, and G'ran relished every single time he got to drink it. "Not surprised." He chuckled to himself, taking a slow sip to savor the sweetness. "Been a long time since I ever felt that tired." And once you hit that point... well, it was easy to lose track of everything.

G'ran sighed contentedly, shifting carefully so that he could shift a bare fraction of his weight on the much smaller woman. He made sure to eye her first, not wanting to lean against freshly tended Threadscore. "How's Aurinkoth?" He knew that the blue had taken some pretty decent hits...

"Elzebuth didn't manage to strain his wings too badly." He offered after a beat. And by that, he meant any more than he already had during their first Threadfall. Older dragonriders had taken much worse damage than they had... but, he reasoned, they had been up much higher, while they had been safe in the Weyrling and Queen's wings.

They'd pull their weight soon enough. He was sure of it.

With the second cup relinquished, she held her own with both hands now, nursing at it slowly as he spoke, nodding slowly. "I slept better this time at least," she said quietly, her eyes drifting to where the score had blossomed across his chest weeks before, then up at his face silently. It was nice to not be worrying.

She leaned back into him, content to push all of her weight into him by comparison. Outside of some riding gear eaten away, she seemed surprisingly untouched, if not more exhausted than usual - the dark circles under her eyes were darker than they had been in months - and maybe needing to clean ash out of her face and hair. "Aurinkoth is..." she trailed off, leaning her mind into that of her dragon's, inching around his sleeping consciousness to feel out the throbs of pain here and there.

"He took a bad hit in the middle of his back and a few other smaller scores I'll be salving for the next few weeks. We also had to stitch his wings a bit too. There were several holes burned through, unfortunately," Ichta offered up his status openly. "He's sore and probably won't be playing until at least this evening," a great amount of time for his energetic rebound, but she said it with some teasing humor in her voice.

It masked the fear that would have threatened her grab her up, otherwise. She didn't regret her bond, but sometimes she worried a better person would have been suited to be in her position.....

G'ran's status update was a relief. "Good. You took a bad enough hit last time," she frowned, allowing her lingering worry to show before she leaned her head against him with a sigh. They both needed to not be hit ever again.

"Think V'mel will call on us today?" she was hoping everybody got to rest for a time.

Her look was not missed, and he gently stroked a strand of her hair with one, calloused thumb. He remembered little after their first Threadfall... only that he'd passed out, and when he woke up, Ichta had been the first thing he'd seen. Considering the state that Elzebuth had been in, he would have wagered everything he owned that she hadn't slept a wink during that time. She still looked exhausted, he noted with disapproval... but, they would have time to rest up and recover for a little while.

G'ran glanced towards Aurinkoth as she relayed what had happened, his brows furrowing. That sounded bad... and yet, after seeing other injuries all around him, he knew that it could have been much, much worse. Her comment about his playing made him snort, lips twitching into a wry smile. "Well. Elzebuth will keep him company. Maybe they can play games where they don't gotta move." It was too bad there wasn't a hot bath for dragons... He guaranteed that all of them would likely enjoy the chance to soak.

He grunted with agreement at her assessment, slowly wrapping an arm around her waist to get more comfortable. He had no intention of scaring everyone like that ever again... the very thought still made him embarrassed.

"Probably." He said without hesitation. "Think we would have heard otherwise." Even if it was just to tell them what he thought of their performance. Shards, but it would be nice to have the day off to just... recuperate.

The arm around her waist made Ichta tense for a moment before she relaxed into his side. It was a great weight off of her mind and her heart to feel him there - to be assured that whatever paranoid fantasies her brain wanted to try and work up for her weren't real. At least one person in the Weyr would not be receiving that comfort this morning and the mere thought of it made her chest tighten. As if doubting herself, she looked to G'ran again, reaching up with one hand to caress his cheek before sighing and resettling.

Would she feel this way for the rest of her life? It was easy to assure herself the sleepy blue was fine just through a mental touch. Though the idea of Aurinkoth playing without moving did earn a small laugh. "I don't think I could make him stand still if I begged him to stay put," she mused, though she imagined if Elzebuth just laid on top of him he would. For maybe 10 minutes.

Ichta briefly considered simply..skipping out on checking in with V'mel. Only for a moment, however, before the mere idea had her aghast. She would never, but...she was enjoying this moment she was having and wasn't quite ready to have to plan to head back to her own weyr to clean up. But it would have been silly to think of planning for this to happen again and have a change of clothing in G'ran's weyr.

For a moment, she took a long drink from her cup and allowed the silence to settle in. It was, after all, not entirely unpleasant when it was in his company.

He waited for a moment until he felt Ichta settle before he did as well, content that his arm had been accepted to remain where it was. Her soft hand brushed against his cheek, earning a low rumble of appreciation from him. This was new and strange... and somehow, completely and utterly relaxing. He'd never expected to find someone like Ichta when he was given a chance to escape the mines.

"Hm. Maybe tell him it's a new game." G'ran offered... but already figuring that such a tactic would only last for a measly amount of time. Maybe they could find other dragons to play with him... but that was a lot of effort. Plus, talking to strangers.

Afraid he might doze off again, the man forced himself to take another sip of klah. Eventually, he'd force himself to get up, knowing he should at least bathe before meeting up with V'mel and his fellow weyrlings.... but for now, he was certainly content to linger.
