After quite some time swimming, a drenched Naia eventually found herself on the sandy shore of her chosen island. Of course, it probably wouldn't have taken the girl quite as long if her first two choices hadn't already been taken by other students, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that she had reached her destination and hadn't yet been set upon by any guards, so Naia moved a bit further up the shore so the waves wouldn't try to wash her away once her tired limbs gave out from under her. The girl didn't even try to get up when she fell and instead rolled over enough so that she was laying on her back. There she would rest for some time, allowing the sun and wind to dry her out as she closed her eyes and breathed deeply.

After a half hour or so, the girl roused from her doze and carefully got back to her feet. She didn't know when she got to the island, but she did know that she would prefer not to be caught during high tide and those waves were getting closer. It seemed the girl had made her swim while the tides were changing, but it had been going from low to high. Now it looked like she'd either have to get soaked again or kill several hours exploring. She chose the latter.

After unclipping the ball at her waist, Naia pressed the button on the front to release Garnet. "Time out's over. Let's do some exploring," the girl said somewhat cheerfully before making her way further inland. The misdreavus cackled a bit as she floated along after her trainer, curious as to what they'd find on their new island.

To the disappointment of both, there wasn't much to see for someone already used to islands. Sandy beaches turned to stone and dirt as one made their way towards the center. Dingy grass carpeted the earth in patches and shrubs sparsely populated the isle. Few plants grew any taller with no pools or rivers to support them but there were a handful of trees clustered together at a few points. It was possible that there were some pockets of water hidden under the ground, but Naia wasn't about to trust them for more than keeping the few trees alive. Food was more reliable, with the girl noticing a few pools fed with water and small fish by the tides. "Might have to catch a water type... Get a garden going or something," the girl muttered, not minding a diet of fish but knowing she needed other kinds of food to stay healthy.

After some more exploring and some language-troubled arguing, Naia and Garnet finally agreed on where to try and set up the boxed house the trainer had been given. Some way off from the center, a spot near a cluster of trees looked about perfect. "I'm supposed to throw this, so... Here goes?" With no idea how far away she needed to be, Naia hesitated before giving the box an underhanded toss, landing it about where she intended. With a shudder and shake, the cube unfolded and reshaped itself and its contents until it eventually formed an odd house. Odd to the girl, at least.

After taking stock of what her new home came with (once she had the will to enter it, anyway), Naia set about making herself presentable. The girl somehow doubted the school staff would appreciate her stepping into class dripping wet and coated in sand. Besides, it wasn't as if she had anything to unpack anyway. It didn't take more than an hour to get herself and her clothes cleaned up and soon after she was once again dressed. After a bit more exploring, it was finally time for the tides to lower and expose the path back to the actual school part of the academy. Naia started on her long walk, Garnet floating along nearby.
