[WE] Strange Weather - Tryston x Constynce

The blizzard from the other night had long ago died down. In fact it appeared that the skies were constantly sunny lately - a fact that had Tytus shedding his outer furs and sweating rather than freezing as they crossed through the terrain of Zena. It was so queer seeing how even the most frozen of mountain paths seemingly melted, droplets of water joining and tumbling down as slender waterfalls from the previously snowy paths. Rather than the slickness of ice Tryston now how to worry about the muddied paths which were just as dangerous.

Thankfully though they were close to the manor. He recognized the valley spreading out before them, a rare place that constantly had some form of green despite the winters of Zena, and as they descended from the mountain Tryston found his tension easing. Even with the strange weather patterns it was refreshing to see a familiar place, a safe place where he did not have to worry about enemies being behind every corner.

Taking one last glance at the valley below he then turned to head back up the path to get Constynce. Since their destination was near he had given her some time to freshen up, something that was possible thanks to the natural spring bubbling at the base of the mountains. Though he did pause once he reached the pile of rocks which marked the spring. Would she be ready by now? He had surely given her plenty of time while he went ahead to scout...right?

Constynce couldn't remember being able to see the ground on her last trip through Zena. She wasn't about to complain though. Her boots were getting coated with mud, the layers weighing her down were slowly being shed, and the sun was lighting the way forward. It was certainly still cold for her, but she could look around without her eyes freezing out of her face! When Tryston had told her to go ahead and bathe, Constynce had practically leapt at the opportunity.

The hot spring was a blessing to the warmth loving woman. Getting undressed had been a challenge; wanting to stay in the warm clothes, but the hot spring was too tempting. She soaked in the heat, face turned up to the sun. It was so soothing after all that running around, being cold, climbing, being cold....

Stubbornly, she sank down until the water was under her nose. She knew it was time to climb back out and continue on toward the shelter, but it was so lovely there. She cracked an eye open to look at the path and stuck out her lip. Tryston would be returning for her soon. Sighing, she rolled onto her stomach to keep herself submerged until her guardian returned, watching the path expectantly. Surely waiting until after he returned wouldn't be so bad? She would have to get dressed quickly after climbing out anyway to avoid being cold.

Funny, she still found it chilly, but she was sure that Tryston was uncomfortable.

Patiently Tryston waited by the springs. He wanted to give Constynce as much time as possible to warm up and to relax. He knew that the journey had been harsh on her and the recent blizzard had nearly taken everything out of her. Even this new heat wave was still not enough to take the bite out of the bitter winds but he could only hope that eventually the girl would adjust. This valley thankfully was not as severe as the higher areas of Zena and he prayed that the gods would take mercy on them as they rested there. If hot springs were here then it was highly probably that some underground system ran across the whole valley, hence the warmer temperatures beneath the mountains that allowed fields to grow and the forest to flourish around its edges.

Shedding his own outer layers Tryston stood comfortably in a loose tunic and his leathers. He tried to enjoy the breeze from the mountain but as he studied the valley below a sudden noise caught his attention. Was Constynce in danger? Gaze widening the iceling leaped over the rocks in his way and tumbled downwards towards the edge of the springs, "Constynce!" He called out sharply as he searched for her. But then as he did locate her another sort of heat bloomed across his cheeks and quickly the man turned away as the guilty chiavi, who had crashed near the springs and created the noise, flew back away and towards the valley with a loud hoot.

Awkwardly Tryston kept his back to the springs and finally called out, "You.....okay?" Silently though he swore if he found that chiavi again that his next cape would have a great spread of feathers decorating it.

It was so tempting to just fall asleep when bathing in such soothing warmth, waiting for him to return... The sudden noise immediately set her on edge though, and she jumped to stand upright, her long hair sticking to her back. Wide eyes darted around, naturally thinking that they had been caught up to by those they were fleeing... but then she saw the innocent creature. Oh!

She heard her name as well. Oh!

Her heart leaped back up into her throat, and dropped back into the pool for cover until the surface was just below her lips, watching Tryston's back with a face hotter than the water she was in. Despite her embarrassment, she felt a giggle of excitement trying to rise as well. How much had Tryston seen? Considering his current posture... While Constynce's personal space bubble was quite small, she did still have some protocols of propriety ingrained in her from old lessons. "I am fine," she replied, hands fussing with her hair bashfully. "Thank you." Well, she had been waiting for him anyway... "If you would.. stay there please.. I will get dressed."
