The numbness the pikipek felt was not caused by grief alone. Frost enveloped the small bird's body, chilling her to the core and robbing her of both warmth and feeling. It did not take long for the childless mother's consciousness to fade into the numbing cold, and soon after the bird's life followed suit. With several thumps and rustles, the lifeless hunk of meat and feathers fell down the remainder of the tree to the ground below. Naia would have sworn she could even hear a sickening sound like a thud mixed with a splat at some point.

After giving the remains of the crushed nest a glance, unsure if anything within might still be of any use after being stepped on and covered in egg goo, Naia shifted her bag to a slightly more comfortable position. "Good enough. Let's keep moving," the girl stated as she began looking for another branch to drop down to. The ground was relatively close now, and now was not the time to dwell on the dead. That was what the girl silently insisted as she tried to force down a fear that bubbled inside her, trying to take the place of the more obvious concerns that were being settled one by one.

(Well, I notices this almost a month later)

A small Cherubi who had witness the entire thing shivered in the tree. Swaying, swaying, she wouldn't say a thing. Holding her breathe, she wasn't sure if she should be happy or sad, because her kind are often turned int chow.

Still, to watch a pokemon's entire future be crushed, she knew it was best for her to simply swing around silently.

Swaying, swaying, she just hope the trainer would go away.

Naia didn't even notice the cherubi as she continued down the tree. Most likely, the trainer wouldn't have even cared if she did notice the grass type. The ground was in sight and only a few branches away. As long as she wasn't attacked, Naia intended to trudge onwards to solid ground. If she was attacked... Well, Garnet's frigid breath had proved useful in keeping the trainer safe so far.

( I notices this only one day after. Yay)

Swinging ...swinging ...swinging ...snap.

The branch would crack just as the girl went down another feet down towards the ground.

Twirling, twirling ..falling fast. The Cherubi wouldn't just fall on it's own as it took the other limbs and pieces of tree down with it. All threatening to fall on Naia's head, so the girl was given only two choices to have the pokemon and pieces of wood collide with her head or she had to shift out of the way.

Either way, it would seem that this pokemon was going to cause her trouble.

Crack!

Somewhere above her head, Naia first heard one branch break. She started moving as a second branch snapped. By the time more limbs were breaking, the girl was already scurrying across her thick branch to safety. She wasn't so worried about falling to her death now, the ground being mere yards away at this point. Instead, she focused more on trying to evade the incoming avalanche of wood and leaves, dropping down to a new branch and trying to stay close to the trunk of the tree. Hopefully there wouldn't be enough junk falling to actually break the branch she was on, but on the off chance it did happen, she didn't want to risk being dropped to the ground with it.

(Successfully avoiding falling debris)

Bruised and battered, the Cherubi landed in a heap at the bottom of the tree. It would seem that the pokemon had knocked itself completely out as it's eyes spun. That wasn't all, if Naia looked downwards she would notice something else. The pokemon was a very different shade of coloration, a lighter almost pink color, which was different from all the Cherubi she had seen before.

Shiny, the Cherubi was a shiny pokemon, but whether Naia would go after it or not was up to her.

For a few moments, Naia could only stare in disbelief as she looked down at the debris below. That cherubi... Did not look like it should. The difference was subtle, but it was definitely pink, not red. There was no mistake, it was what most people would call a shiny pokemon. What's more, it had practically fallen into the girl's lap. Fortune like this... Did she dare?

With a small grunt as she carefully dropped down the rest of the tree, the young trainer decided that she very much dared. "Keep an eye on that oversized fruit, Garnet. Don't let it run off," Naia instructed as she made her way to solid ground. The girl certainly hoped she could find a good place to call for her return ride, because there was no way she was going to climb that tree again. Not willingly, anyway.

The pokemon's fall would end with it laying on it's back with it's eyes swirling. There was no danger of the pokemon running off, but it would seem that the pokemon's luck was still pretty horrible. Something moved from underneath a few branches, pushing and pulling and finally the greenish brown top head of a another pokemon appeared.

This was a Seedot as it looked at the Cherubi. Not a pokemon of the meat eating kind, this pokemon should have been safe as it looks upwards to see that a girl was clambour down and with it a ghost pokemon was showing up as well.

His eyes would narrow.

This pokemon saw itself as the provailer of justice and it smiled sinisterly. If this human came for this pokemon, it better be ready for a fight.

Oh. Whatever joy Naia felt at finally having her feet on solid ground faded away as she saw who had beaten her to the fallen cherubi. A seedot, bearing a smile that the trainer could already tell meant no good, was blocking the girl from reaching the unconscious shiny pokemon. The girl's own eyes narrowed back at the insolent little nut. "With a grin like that, I doubt your intentions were any better," the girl commented as she took a stance more suited for whatever fight might occur. "Move or get chilled. Those are your options," Naia warned as Garnet floated down, the ghost letting out a frosty puff to show the grass type they weren't bluffing.
