So many cubs had been born into the pride lately but most of them were male, which was quite unfortunate. Even the children he'd had so far were mostly male offspring. While this wasn't a terrible thing, it wasn't a good thing either. Giving a small frown he hoped perhaps the next couple of litters he had, if they resulted in children anyway, produced female cubs. Only time would tell and to be quite honest he wasn't sure what more he could do to try and ensure he'd have girls.
Letting out a sigh the male peered about and figured he'd just have to take it with a grain of salt, even the leaders and the other Inselelo's had been having mostly boys so he couldn't exactly feel too bad about the whole thing. Still, it made them all a little less desirable given male offspring had to leave and about 90 percent of the cubs were male so far, even from the females that had sought outside males.
Maybe this was the God's way of punishing them for allowing them to find males outside the pride? Giving a sigh he shook his head, at least he had cubs to look after right now, even if most of them had to leave soon. He would in time as well, but it was going to be an interesting experience given these were the first children he'd ever had and he was going to have to say goodbye to them soon. So lost in his own thoughts he hadn't even realized he was no longer alone.
His mind was just other places and it couldn't be helped but he did know one thing above all else, he was proud to be a parent and help contribute life to this pride even if he might never see most of them again. It was a sacrifice he was willing to make.

She had spent many moons feeling quite sorry for herself, though of all the things in life Chi had been what had kept her going. The small cub was finally grown, and Umoya had never felt more... more proud. It had been good, finding the cub so soon after her leg had been taken from her. And now she felt... better about moving around, about hunting, about doing just every day things. She had thought for a long time that she wouldn't be able to do those things... but slowly she was able to prove herself wrong. She was able to understand that she was still strong and a good hunter, even if she was slightly limited.
She moved through the lands at a slower pace than most, having left Chi to her own devices. Her three legs carried her along, and after a short while she spied Budek in the distance. She had been considering for a long time, which of the males she would ask... he was the male she was looking for. Still, she felt nervous as she approached. "Budek, good morning!" She called, tail flicking.

She couldn't wait to tell Quba about this, it felt like forever since she had last spoken to her dear friend. Her gaze followed the direction he indicated and she laughed a little and then nodded, half shrugging. "No time like the present, no?" She joked, before nudging him playfully. These were interesting situations, to say the least. She was excited to take the next step into her life's journey, she would also need to find time to speak with Chi. Chi would always be her first daughter, even though the lioness wasn't truly her blood. She had raised Chi from when she was a cub, and she was every bit a true daughter. Chi was grown now, but Umoya would still like to let her adult daughter in on what was happening in her life. They'd talked a few times about the situation, but Umoya hadn't decided to move forward with her plan since they'd last discussed it.
"Shall we?" She smiled, moving off with Budek.
