Struggling a bit more, Amaranth would finally manage to get to her feet and take a tentative step back from the tanks she saw, starting to recover from the Thunderbolt she took. But, unlike the others, it wasn't in an effort to try and run away so much as it was to assess everything further. Whistling to have Breeze return to her side as Forge kept himself nearby, she had a feeling the tanks could be handled. But not easily, and possibly not alone. After a moment, she'd motion to her Togekiss and Fletchinder to fly and swoop around Dull and cause some interference for the otherwordly hybrid. And maybe throw an Air Slash here or a Flame Charge there, respectively.

Then, she'd let out a deep breath as her attention went back to the tanks, throwing a couple more Pokeballs to let out her Lickitung, Flareon and Kangaskhan. "Breath and Kindle, alternate between your Blizzard and Flamethrower around one of the tanks! Fury, follow up after a bit and throw a Mega Punch at it!" She called, her Lickitung soon letting out a harsh, freezing gale at the tanks, hoping to form some ice around one of them. After a moment, her Flareon would send a Flamethrower to reheat it, and the two would go back and forth between freezing and reheating the tank.

This would eventually be followed up after a moment by Kangaskhan, rushing up to a tank and throwing a mighty fist at it. Hopefully, this wouldn't include a broken arm or something.

Aria would barely be able to focus as she was thrown about as a ragdoll before receiving a direct dose of strange energies directly to the forehead. Rolling across the ground a fair ways, she would barely keep a grip on the knife she had obtained as she skidded to a stop. Taking a breath as she stood up, she glanced towards where the tanks were before pointing and nodding towards the tanks. The Noivern and the Carbink would look towards each other before doing their species equivalent of a shrug and turning towards the tanks. Vibrato would fire a Boomburst at one of tanks, managing to coincide with the freezing and punching. Meanwhile Carbuncle would just fire a Power Gem into the hole that was opened in the unaffected tank as...something.

Turning towards where Dull was currently engaged in an intense sword duel with Odd, another thought of not getting in the way of intense fighting crossed her mind. But she was still going to contribute as best as she thought she could. So she dashed towards Dull again, flipping the hunting knife in her grip to get a better handle on the thing. Drawing close to where she could see the pair engaged, she went for a flying dive and placed her other hand on the base of the knife's handle as she flipped the blade to point down towards the ground and did her best to drive the blade through Dull's foot and into the ground.

"Cowards!" Night shouted at those fleeing at the appearance of a couple tanks. Night didn't care about the tanks, in fact she barely noticed them. Just chalked the sounds up to just more background noise from the battle. All the Ninetales cared about was continuing her assault on Dull's mind with her Extrasensory. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and Night had every intention of unleashing Hell on the the hybrid in front of her. Though, if one were to look closely enough at her, they'd notice the constant attack was starting to wear on her.

The pink around her eyes began to dim, significantly, and she appeared to be far less steady on her feet. Soon, she would no longer be able to keep up the Extrasensory. Regardless, the fox was determined to continue her attack for as long as possible. Along with a little help from her pokemon, "Tatsu, cease the Fire Blast. Hit him with Shadow Claw. Circe, switch up and hit him with Hurricane.

The two pokemon would stop their assault and regroup before going in for the new attacks. Tatsu swooped down first, slashing at Dull with his attack before quickly flying out of the way for Circe to go in with her Hurricane.

"Excuse me, do you see me running!?" Amaranth asked after hearing Night's remark. "If I was going to run, I'd have already done it when I saw two of the last things I'd want to see here!"

Crystal shook her head, ears turning back to hear Night's comment. "Hmph. Who said anything about running here," she commented as her Pokémon returned to her. "Now then. Demon Wing. That guy that put you to sleep," she asked, pointing to Dull while pulling on her braid some more, "Unleash hell upon him. Apolla, give him a boost." Apolla would nod, the fox-like cat creating a faint purple orb before sending it her comrade's way. The dragon would then snort with a wicked grin after getting the Helping Hand, taking off into the air and taking a deep breath. What would then erupt out of his maw would be probably one of the biggest gouts of flame that most people would have seen, the Blast Burn aimed directly at Dull.

"Steeeel!" Cried out the Iron Pokemon, its enormous power noticeable to even non-Channeling humans. After rising up above the crowd with Magnet Rise, Registeel would proceed to fire off a small but sufficiently powerful Flash Cannon at the door, aiming to blast it open and if all went well unleashing the civilian horde into the streets of Virbank to fight.

The rallying cry has its desired effect as the Snagem leader whips the people up into a frenzy and then directs them through the dynamic force of his words, the simple townsfolk rising up together with the appearance of the legendary and Sub's blasting of the door off of its hinges. As the doors crash to the ground outside of the building, both of the up until now unobservant guards spin to face whoever was attempting to bust their prisoners from the brig... only to be swept up in a sea of human bodies as the villagers disarm and knock out them both. They pour out of the warehouse, sweeping forwards and down the street in an unruly mob. Were they going to take back the town? Probably not. Were they going to cause some chaos? Oh yes.

Blizzard120

With what we thought was a threat neutralized, Freth and I nearly stumbled over from Darts' rampage. "Crap, Darts is going to tear this place apart if we don't move."

"We're probably the best shot at it, and perhaps the closest for that matter..."

"We didn't need this now...did Dull really push him this hard?"

"What about Sub? He's going to be needing help soon."

"WEAVILE!"

"GLALIE!"

The two of us perked up, quickly looking back. The sniper may have not caught the flash of light before after all, because it was our contingency plan was sprung. Weavile, on the top of Glalie, rushed up to the building. Weavile jumped off the top of Glalie and went to smash an icy claw right into the scientist; Weavile's Ice Punch. Byrony should have just called it quits after the Ice Beams.

Speaking of chaos, some of the mob would swiftly descend on Blizz's neck of the woods, tipping over barrels of oil and sabotaging cases of gasoline, unknowingly charging in the direction of the rampaging Darts.

Byrony was out this time. For sure. Check please.

Amaranth's clever temperature shift and punch tactic combined with Aria's Boomburst and the Power Gem towards the other confused tank sends the two tanks crashing into each other. The side of the tank hit by the Mega Punch ruptures, sending Flare Grunts scrambling for cover as they pour out of the now inoperable tank in droves, as they attempt to flee back to what they assumed was the relative safety of Virbank.

A Togekiss and a Fletchinder swoop widely around the Gengar hybrid continuously under heavy assault from a barrage of attacks from the Snagems around him. The Extrasensory continued to beat down on him continuously, followed by Hurricanes, Shadow Claw, and... a knife in his foot? The insects had him locked down from phasing, and now he was literally pinned in place as he attempted to hold of Odd's incoming blade. And then the Blast Burn came down. A solid column of hot as the center of the earth flame descends from the sky and crashes down on top of Dull. It lasts for a long while, and if Odd hadn't managed to get out of the way the damage to him was going to be extensive to say the least. After a few minutes of solid fire from the Charizard, the smoke cleared around the Gengar hybrid. Clutched inside his singed, smoking hand is a glowing crystal, his new third eye spinning into place on his forehead as he regards each of them with his new sight.

His jacket is crumbling apart at the edges, flaking off and turning to ash as the whole thing immolates from the extensive and powerful heat of the Charizard's flame, lending a whole new term to 'burning Darts' Dull's jacket. His skin morphs from the dark purple of a shiny Gengar to brilliantly translucent white, accenting the scorching at the very end of the gas that made him up now. Clearly he had Mega Evolved for the power boost it took to weather that Blast Burn, because for the first time... it looked like he might have actually taken some damage. "I can't die to you all here... I gotta make it home..." Dull intones, cocking back his hand to conjure a mass of destructive energy into his palm, winding up and hurling it forwards like a baseball pitcher. A column of amber light erupts into existence with the sound like the great vacuum emptying the air from a rocket in the depths of space. A massive Hyper Beam spews out towards Odd, the one he considered the most likely to be able to stop him with the Charizard recharging. But Aria was probably in the path too... Luckily it was fired in the opposite direction of the city.

Odd watched the bevy of attacks from his friends descend on Dull, weathering the ones he could dodge while still parleying the hybrid's hunting knife with his own ghostly halberd. When he sensed the massive charge of energy coming from Crystal's Charizard and a powerful intent to kill, he knew he needed to put some distance between himself and Dull. Stabbing the end of his halberd into the ground, he used it to vault away from the extra dimensional demon by about 6 feet, sliding the last foot or so as he spun himself around to watch what happened.

~Cadenza, stick close! This looks like our best chance!~ He signalled to his Shedinja. The Ghost-type floated over closer to him, sticking right behind him.

When the hybrid emerged, Mega Evolved yet still clearly showing signs of damage at last, Odd knew he was right. "You're not getting anywhere, Dull." He told the hybrid even as the Hyper Beam charged in his palm. That was when he noticed Aria, however. While she might not be in the immediate line of fire, so to speak, she was far too close for his comfort. ~I need you to possess me again! Now!~

Cadenza knew what Odd wanted and he didn't like it but he understood. This was not the time to be pulling punches. Sliding into Odd's body from behind and leaving only his wings and halo visible, Channeler and partner synchronized in a way they never could separately. They couldn't do this for long but it amplified their reaction time as well as the strength of their channeling abilities.

Chains of shadows erupted from Odd's shadow and raced across the space between himself and Dull before the Hyper Beam could be fired, snatching Aria away from the attack by her ankle just in time to avoid her becoming a liquid. With the massive beam crossing the space between them, Odd summoned a Guardian Halo around himself and Dull, trapping the hybrid inside it with him. For the moment, Cadenza's Wonder Guard would protect him as an automatic shield to deflect the beam, though it was still visibly struggling to stop it due to the heat generated by the plasma-like beam of pure energy. With the pair trapped together, Odd unable to escape thanks to Dull's Shadow Tag in his Mega form and Dull trapped within the consecrated zone of Odd's Guardian Halo, the Channeler summoned up a huge ball of evil-consuming flames via Wicked Wick and hurled them toward Dull, aiming to distract him. The moment he want to block or dodge the flames, the Channeler made his move, throwing Wraith Harvest toward Dull and catching it with Ramses Curse, slashing at him with the Artifact in order to gain just a taste of his spiritual energy. Even a tiny scratch was all he needed and with Dull already weakened and showing himself to be more and more manic, he just might be able to achieve the desired outcome at last.

Wren rampaged through the town alongside the other townsfolk, mysterious thorny vines sprouting into being around him in at times. They didn't seem to be doing anything at the moment but shouldn't that be something worth noticing? Maybe one of the Snagems in the group would do so and would remember that later? Who knows?

Lykas, still hidden in the piping of the cleaner warehouse, continued attempting to listen in on the voices he had heard. Maybe he could find out something about the high profile prisoners from them?

A message would pop up on Fen's SNAG, informing him of a sleuth mission he was given. Sub has instructed him to infiltrate the Virbank Complex south of Virbank City. Along with the message his ride, Claydol, would appear before him with a small device floating in front of him. The message instructed him to take the device with him and fix it to the tallest fuel silo he can find in the complex and flee. He is warned that the place will be crawling with Flare grunts so use caution and if spotted to take them out swiftly. Once he was ready Claydol would teleport him to Floccesy Town. He was to take a short walk through the woods and come up on the complex from the west where he would find a fence between the woods and the industrial complex. As promised the place was crawling with Flare grunts and a few Fletchinder flying overhead. This would be a challenge.

At first, I thought Crystal and Night were crazy. Then, I saw them fight. The whole thing was somewhat nostalgic, reminding me of how I almost gave up being a trainer, and how I was set straight. What are you doing? I asked myself. Fail here, and it's your family's lives on the line. Are you really going to let Lysandre find them? Ein!?

Thinking of Castelia in ruins, images of Lysandre and Ein adorning destroyed buildings, fueled me. Suddenly, I didn't care if Flare was relying on live munitions. I wasn't going to let them soil my home.

In that moment, I could hear Sub's speech in the back of my head. Was Keiko sending it to me? Or did I connect to her instinctually? At the time, it didn't matter.

I walked up to Dull and Odd, letting the ladies handle the tanks if they hadn't already. I wasn't paying attention to those. I thought about using Kefka in a tricky way, but Odd already had him held down with some kind of Dark-type move. Likely Mean Look. So instead, I decided to stop holding back and take the offensive, letting Rala out of her ball. Before I could, however, I saw Dull fire the Hyper Beam, only for Odd to protect Aria through some Ghost-type channeling - which made sense because typing.

"You're not going anywhere, criminal," I growled. I'd let Rala out while I was watching Odd protect Alia from Dull's attack, and by now, she was charging her Psychic attack. "Do it," I told her. She flung her orb of Psychic-type energy at the half-Poison hybrid. Seeing him fight before, I had my doubts that the move would take him out, but he had been weakened prior to my change of heart.

~*~

Keiko took a step back as Sub preached to the prisoners, hoping that his plan worked and that they didn't attack Sub, Banga, or herself. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, and the Rage Powdered humans rushed out of their cages, to her relief. She couldn't help but be surprised at how easy her mission with Sub had gone. On top of that, from what she thought she felt from me during the brief moments I instinctively connected to her through Rala, I had the worse of it between the two of us.

Sub would left out a devious cackle as his plan went off without a hitch, the empowered people, both physically and mentally, storming out of the warehouse. Part of him felt pity for all those Flare grunts that would surely meet a terrible fate at the hands of an unruly mob, and if history told him anything it would be a quick and pleasant end. While he knew they were no match for the kind of forces Flare brought in at least they could struggle and make things harder on them. Some would say Sub had no right sending these people out into danger but he felt like the fact that he was able to rile them up like that, even with help from some Rage Powder, was enough proof that deep down this is exactly what they wanted to do, he just gave them a little push and a helping hand.

After recalling his Registeel Sub would step out of the warehouse and observe the fruits of his plan, watching the townsfolk attack Flare grunts and destroy anything and everything in their path, numerous fires already lit. He was pleased with himself. In the midst of the chaos he did take note of a particularly interesting man, one whom seemed to be Channeling and didn't even notice it. "A Grass Channeler..." Sub thought to himself, eying the man, taking out his SNAG and pointing it at the mysterious man for a bit as he allowed GRAY to get an energy reading on him. He wanted to make sure he found this guy again later, could always use more Channelers.

When Keiko stepped out he would pull her to the side, ducking behind some barrels to get away from the rowdy mob. "We're going to the complex next. If you have anything against massive destruction of economically important property, which will surely ruin Virbank City for years to come, then go back to Floccesy Town for safety. I plan on at least making Virbank as useless as possible for Flare, hopefully to slow them down. They wanted a war and they're getting one." He informed her. The Snagem leader knew both Keiko and Terashi did not like to cause suffering when they could avoid it but this was war, and in war there are no rules.

Keiko almost didn't react at first when Sub pulled her aside, and panicked for a second after the fact, only to be relieved when she realized it was Sub that grabbed her. After hearing what Sub had to say, Keiko shook her head. "I know Terashi doesn't want anything bad to happen to the people here, but the only way to ensure that would be to stop Flare from coming here altogether, and we didn't know their plans in time to try that. Getting Flare out of here is the only way the people here will be able to get their lives back. The only real way I can help them is to help you get rid of Flare." Keiko said with a serious tone of voice.

Speaking of chaos, some of the mob would swiftly descend on Blizz's neck of the woods, tipping over barrels of oil and sabotaging cases of gasoline, unknowingly charging in the direction of the rampaging Darts.

Byrony was out this time. For sure. Check please.

"........." The two of us stared for a moment, realizing what just transpired. Byrony was going to make a last ditch effort. Yea, thank god for foresight. "Uh...thanks for that." I said.

"Weavile."

"Gla-lie."

Another thrash, another shake. "Ok, that has gone on far enough." Freth said. "Blizzard, go take care of that."

"What about Sub?"

"I'll worry about Sub, go take care of Darts. He'll probably take one of our own before he's through if he's not stopped."

"Alright, fine. Be careful." I said. "Weavile, come on."

"Vile."

"Glalie, let's go." Freth said, rushing towards the front gate. Everything was going to hell at this point; might as well clear a road for Sub to get out.

It would take less than a moment to find my way back down and find my way over towards Darts. Darts currently going full-on Giratina with his Outrage taking full effect and apparently too stupid right at the moment to realize he's tangled up in a bunch of barbed wire and that he needed to stop thrashing about because its doing more harm than good. Though by the way things seem, Darts is too far gone to actually reason with him. I think the Dragon Clan master actually thought such a thing might happen with Darts eventually.

I looked back, my senses going off still. The fight seems to be heating up even more, to unprecedented levels, between the Snagems and Dull. Just as long it stays over that way. Maybe I need to go help them. First things first, though. "Alright...sorry, Darts...duty calls." I said, charging an Ice Beam quickly in the palm of my hand then blasting the dragon hybrid to make him submit. Hopefully this will get him in a position to get that barbed-wire off of him at least. This is one of those times where I don't necessarily feel good about taking a shot like this at Darts, but one does what one needs to.

"Oh, you'll be going back home alright," Amaranth remarked as she turned towards Dull, trying to keep herself from trembling in fear at seeing his Mega Evolved state. The sharp glare she gave instead, while half-hearted at best, was enough to keep her Pokemon from giving in to their own fears. All of them could feel the overflowing energy coming from him, practically rivaling some legendary Pokemon, and that was before the Hyper Beam had been fired. Raising a hand straight up to motion her Pokemon to get ready, she'd move her other to get her Carbink back out. If there was ever a time to unleash everything at once, this was it.

"Back to the depths you crawled out of! Breeze, ready your Sky Attack! Forge, Sunny Day! Kindle, wait for Forge and go in with Flare Blitz! Breath, start building up your Rollout! Granite, mix in your Ancient Power! And Fury?" She'd pause for a second as each of her Pokemon readied their respective moves, hearing a grunt from her Kangaskhan. "Giga Impact." Whatever gloves had been on earlier weren't just taken off, they were tossed away with wild abandon.

First came the Togekiss and Kangaskhan preparing, readying all their might into what they were about to throw and the former taking to the skies. Then, a bundle of fire energy came forth from Fletchinder, hurled skyward and shining down upon the area to bathe it in its residual energies. With the release of Sunny Day, Flareon saw its cue and wreathed himself in flames, growing more intense by the second as he raced along the ground. Lickitung would soon catch up after building up speed for his Rollout, and the two would launch a joint attack as Kindle jumped onto the rolling Breath just long enough to leap off him. Just as the Rollout neared Dull, so would a Flare Blitz from a higher angle. Within the sheer chaos of it all, Carbink's Ancient Power would try and pelt the Mega Evolved hybrid.

Finally, Kangaskhan would walk up to Dull. Slowly, to give enough time for the others' attacks and show a sort of fury that wasn't the usual roaring rampage she was known for. She'd stop just in front of Dull, long enough to look him in the eye as energy welled around her fists and even some of Dull's energy seemed to be drawn to it, no doubt a result of her Scrappy ability. A one-two punch would come his way, both fists slamming onto the ground afterward whether they landed or not. The sheer force of it was enough to keep her still, unable to move away quite so easily. But, perhaps she wouldn't need to, as another crash was soon imminent. As if adding the cherry on top to a series of attacks that might rival a Caterpie's Tackle to this nightmare of a foe, the wind would quickly pick up before Togekiss came crashing down, trying to strike Dull with the Sky Attack that had finally finished up charging.

Who knows how well any of it would work; Amaranth just knew she had to throw everything she could, even if it did little more than slow Dull down. She wasn't even sure if it'd do that much, let alone if her Pokemon would be able to launch that kind of assault a second time.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2018 9:29 pm
Aria didn't dare look up at all as the onslaught of attacks fired off above here, the heat from the Blast Burn notably turning her away from the idea of doing anything besides lying flat and holding a knife in a hybrid's foot. Once the heat died off, she would poke her head up and come to a realization. Namely, her hair had gone from the slightly long, asymmetric cut it had been and was now just a ball of frizz and heat damage around her head. Taking a peek towards Dull once her hair situation had been assessed, all she was yet another ball of death and energy that looked liable to blow her away in its wake as it went towards whatever it was targeted at. Yanking her knife free, Aria would aim to jump forward in some effort to dodge the blast. Which is around when she was snatched from midair and hauled into a defensive position behind Odd.

Taking a moment to breath as she watched Odd go towards the hybrid, Aria gestured for her two Pokemon to come to her side. "Okay. Carbuncle, use Smack Down. Vibrato, go with Dragon Pulse." Aria told her two Pokemon, watching as the Noivern and Carbink both simply fired out a pair of small blast attacks towards Dull before they fell down beside Aria panting. This was getting too hectic for her. She wasn't a siege fighter, she was more flash and display.

Requiem of Whyspers

Dull continues to get pelted from the bevy of other attacks, more and more the glitchy phasing of his defenses keep dropping the attacks on the other side of him but closer. Closer and closer to where his actual body was. The Psychic orb batters at him, and for the first time his eyes show a bit of fear as it passes through him. "Ghnn..." He hisses, a little shock showing as the pain of the super effective attack comes through for once, only to get WALLOPED by Amaranth's Kangaskhan at the end of an onslaught of multi-typed attacks the Scrappy-fueled Giga Impact, even discounting the free Sky Attack on top of it. The Kangaskhan's fists actually connects, knocking the hybrid's face upwards as the second punch of Kangaskhan's combo actually manages to tap Dull's jaw, the first direct physical contact that sends him tumbling backwards into Odd's prison, the black chains winding around his body and locking him into place as they come in contact with him within their Guardian Halo.

He struggles against them, yanking futilely against their pull with his jacket crumbling to pieces around him as he attempts to try and raise his hands to grab a hold of Odd by the throat... but he can't fire any kind of attack. The Hyper Beam had been most of what he had left thrown into one attack. The Wicked Wick wasn't even needed as a distraction at this point as Wraith Harvest comes into contact with Dull's midsection and draws an ugly black wound across his gut, slashing open the front of the Shiny Mega Hybrid's shirt and finally coming into direct physical contact with his gaseous hybrid form.

Lykas, still hidden in the piping of the cleaner warehouse, continued attempting to listen in on the voices he had heard. Maybe he could find out something about the high profile prisoners from them?

"What's going on out there...?" One of the voices whispers to the other.

"I don't kn-"

"Stay where you are! We will investigate this!" A loud voice announces, presumably a guard who rushes out into the mob violence occurring on the streets, probably the last mistake he would make. Who was to say that they were left unguarded? It would be hard to tell from the faucet.

The Ice Beam clips Darts precisely in the temple, sending him down to the ground out cold almost immediately in a tangle of barbed wire and barely repressed rage. He almost seemed a little grateful as he collapses to the floor in a pile of black jacket, gold crest, and red razor wire. Banging outside of the building the two were currently in would alert Blizz to the fact there was a major riot going on outside, people continuing to swarm in and scatter explosive material and ruining Flare's fuel supplies in the area, ignoring the two Snagems in the rumbling building for the moment.
