Delyth was working in the cave that he shared with his mate, setting a gemstone into a headpiece that he was making for another lion. He huffed and decided to take a break and rest his weary eyes, stepping away from his work bench and the glowing crystals that gave him light. Giving a long yawn, he padded over to the back of the cave where their nest was and settled down to rest, curling up in the soft sands and letting his eyes drift shut.

Fridthjof stretched and looked around. He'd been traveling for some time. The dark lion glanced at his paw. A string of something or other had been wound around a toe, but he couldn't remember where he'd gotten it. Oh well. It was such a common occurrence, finding something and not knowing how he got it, that he simply took it for granted these days.

He saw a home ahead of him and decided to see if he could spend the night. It was always nicer to have company. Frid nosed it and peaked around. No one appeared to be at home at the moment. The dark lion slowly eased his way inside the door. His eyes caught the faint flash of something to the side. Slowly he went over to investigate.

Niska yawned enthusiastically and desperately tried to find something to relieve the boredom. He was not used to his position as a guard just yet, even if it was for his mate. Blinking sleepily, he walked his circuit around the grounds of the cave and didn’t notice anything amiss. Granted, he wasn’t looking very hard.

Deciding that everything was fine, he shrugged and gave up the circuit early. It was getting late after all and he may as well check on Delyth.

As he walked into to the cave, his nose alerted him to the smell of a stranger. How odd. Maybe a new customer? He shrugged it off and continued inside, fighting off another yawn.

It didn't usually occur to the male that he shouldn't enter places that didn't belong to him. Fridthjof stared down at the pile of items on the table. It appeared to be something someone was working on, and as yet was unfinished. He wasn't quite sure what it was suppose to be yet. It was sure to be pretty once it was finished.

His attention turned to the glowing crystal that gave a small amount of light to the den. Those were down right fascinating. How had they gotten their glow. He reached up a paw to touch one, brushing against the artist's piece in progress.

It wasn't until he'd made it all the way into the cave that Niska truly realized something wasn't right. He glanced toward Delyth's work area and stopped dead in his tracks, shocked at the sight. For one, Delyth wasn't there. He must be off sleeping as he often worked himself into exhaustion on a project. Even more shocking was that someone else was standing there! A stranger!

"Hey! You there! What are you doing?" shouted Niska, outraged. Even if it was a customer, they wouldn't be there without Delyth's invitation and without him being there.

No, this was a lion that had no business being here.

"How did you get in here? You shouldn't be here!" he raged as he stormed over, glancing at his mate's work in concern. What if this stranger had damaged it? That would be truly awful!

Delyth stirred at the shouts, yawning and blinking before he realized that the voice belonged to his mate. He quickly rose and came back into the main part of the cave, looking sleepy and alarmed, "What is it? What's wrong?" He asked, before seeing a stranger there with his angry mate. "What's going on?"

Frid jumped as a voice shouted from the door way. He couldn't help but looking guilty as he turned toward the accusing voice. "N-nothing!" He was only looking! There wasn't anything wrong with that was there? The dark male backed up uncertainly as the other lion advanced. There wasn't anywhere for him to run to. Why had he thought coming in here was such a good idea?

He was startled as he heard another voice from further back in the cave. He'd had no idea there was someone else here. "I was just looking for a place to spend the night. I was going to ask, but I didn't think anyone was home so I was going to wait."

The purple lion felt pity on the accused lion, pacing up and looking him over carefully, "At ease, Niska." He said soothingly, looking the stranger over. "So you've come for shelter? I can help with that. What's your name, stranger?" He was an attractive lion, for sure, but Delyth tried to keep that information off his face.

Niska was still suspicious and angry, but he respected his mate's wishes and settled down. Still, he continued to glare at the stranger and mutter under his breath. Looking for shelter was certainly acceptable, but wandering into a stranger's den unannounced was rude and dangerous.

He didn't understand why this stranger hadn't at least called out at the entrance to see if anyone was here. Or just used his nose.

No, he didn't trust this stranger one bit, but he had to respect Delyth's wishes if he wasted to offer him shelter.

Frid shifted on his paws nervously as the pale purple male approached him and looked him over. He gave a shy smile and tried to look harmless. The dark male nodded at the question. "Frid."

He kept glancing over at the green male, who although he'd settled down was still sending dark looks his way and muttering under his breath. He wasn't sure if that lion would continue his grumbling or try to come after him.

"Sorry I really didn't mean to intrude. But then I saw that thing over there and it just looked so pretty I had to take a look at it."
